The Real “Zero Dark Thirty”?

Do remember where you were when you heard the news that bin Laden had been killed?

Since that day there have been numerous documentaries about the event……the Seal Team Six has become a national hero….Hollywood has made a fortune from telling and re-telling the story…..and TV has glorified the work by the CIA and others to locate and kill the world’s number one terrorist…….the long arduous hours of data collection and analysis.

But as with most everything that has been done of late was it mostly propaganda?

A lengthy new report by the investigative journalist Seymour Hersh turns the official account of Osama bin Laden’s assassination on its head. In the London Review of Books, Hersh writes that the US didn’t, as it has said, discover bin Laden’s location through couriers. Instead, top Pakistani generals knew where bin Laden was—in fact, as Hersh puts it, “bin Laden had been a prisoner of the ISI at the Abbottabad compound since 2006,” and a Pakistani official revealed the information for a large portion of a $25 million reward the US had put forward in 2001. Hersh bases his report largely on an anonymous source he describes as “a retired senior intelligence official who was knowledgeable about the initial intelligence about bin Laden’s presence in Abbottabad.” Obama did order the Navy SEALs raid on the compound, but it didn’t happen the way the White House has said, Hersh writes.

“There was no firefight as they moved into the compound,” the source says. Bin Laden, who was an “invalid,” was simply shot. Ensuing accounts, including President Obama’s speech, provided inaccurate details. Though Obama acknowledged working with Pakistani intelligence, the account by John Brennan, now the CIA head, rejected the idea that Pakistan had any knowledge of bin Laden’s location. Hersh’s report is an “explosive” one, writes Seth Maxon at Slate, but he notes that its trustworthiness is uncertain, “since it mostly relies on the information of a single anonymous source—and because it doesn’t appear in Hersh’s usual venue for blockbuster investigative pieces, the New Yorker.” Business Insider agrees that it “should be viewed with skepticism.” Read it all here.

In case you are curious about this……here is the review from the UK…….

Is this true or is it just another made up story by a nationally known journalist?  Will we ever know the truth about this event?  Are we just celebrating a lie?

What do you think?  Fact or fiction?

Patriotism Has Its Price

This country has gone “patriot” crazy……our vets deserve all the recognition they are getting…..the parades, the out pouring of gratitude and in my opinion there is not enough we are doing to say thank you….

We do not support the troops…..we pretend they are important but do not care when the Congress divides t5o save money by cutting programs for the troops or the veterans…..one can voice support but if it does not translate into action then I question the seriousness of the gesture.

Speaking of gestures……..have you seen the out pouring of support at all these athletic endeavors….kinda like what some of the NFL teams have done?

Would you like the rest of the story?

Fans who see troops honored at halftime events during NFL games may not be aware that a lot of the time, their tax dollars are paying for the tribute to the military. According to an NJ.com investigation, the Pentagon has paid a total of $5.4 million to 14 NFL teams since 2011 for events like the New York Jets’ “Hometown Heroes” tribute to members of the New Jersey Army National Guard. Most of the paid-for tributes involved the National Guard, and while not every NFL event saluting the troops is part of a promotion, some lawmakers say having teams compensated for patriotic events seems distasteful, Scout.com reports.

“Those of us go to sporting events and see them honoring the heroes,” Sen. Jeff Flake tells NJ.com. “You get a good feeling in your heart. Then to find out they’re doing it because they’re compensated for it, it leaves you underwhelmed. It seems a little unseemly.” The public “believes they’re doing it as a public service or a sense of patriotism,” Flake says. “It leaves a bad taste in your mouth.” A Jets spokesman tells the New York Daily News that the team has “consistently supported all five branches of the US armed forces” separately from the Guard sponsorship, and that it recently donated $1 million to a foundation that builds homes for injured service members.

Disgraceful!  A league full of millionaires and we have to pay them to show some respect?

Don’t know about you….but these douche bags can kiss my ass!

And The Survey Says………..

The news dump ends!  I now return to my normal posting day.

Since 2008 I have been telling anyone who will listen or read that I think this daily poll crap is a waste of time.  all it does is generate something for the lazy MSM to use to make up the reports that we get daily.

Look at the most recent election in England…..all the polls were telling the media that it was going to be a very close election….too close to even attempt a prediction….and in the end it was a massive win for the Tories.

2012 was a similar story…..the media, after reading their pol;ling, were telling us that it was a close election and that Mitt would give Obama a run for his money…..it was CRAP!  Obama won outright.

The media needs polls!  How else can they make up the story that they want told?  Polls drive the dialog especially this far out of the real election.

Polls are CRAP!  Stop listening to the bullsh*t!

Polls predicted a close election in the UK, and the polls were dead wrong. What happened? “The World May Have a Polling Problem,” asserts the headline of a post by poll-assessing whiz Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight.com. His site’s forecast, based on those lousy polls, was way off, and Silver writes that it’s not an isolated incident. Polls ahead of the 2014 midterms, Scotland’s referendum on independence, the Israeli elections, and even the 2012 presidential race were considerably skewed as well. On the latter, President Obama beat the polling averages by 3 points, which may not sound like much, but if it had gone the other way, we might be addressing President Romney today.

Silver cites a number of possible factors, including vanishing landlines that make voters harder to contact, along with more wonky problems such as pollsters ditching “probability sampling” or holding back results that differ with other surveys. All in all, “there may be more difficult times ahead for the polling industry,” writes Silver. (And, consequently, for poll readers such as Silver, points out Dylan Byers at Politico.) Polls are CRAP!

Do I need to say it again?

Dems launch effort to demilitarize police | TheHill

My news dump continues…..hopefully some will find it useful……I shall return to original posts a little later……

Do you remember the protests in Ferguson, Missouri?  All the military hardware that the PD had at its disposal?  Then later in Baltimore…..all the nifty military stuff the police were using to try and control the situation?

After all that the media started reporting just how much military hardware was available for PDs even to college campus police…..it is a scandal at what these people are getting to use against the population.

The debate has been that something needs to be done….well sports fans the Dems are trying to do just that…..

Unending War on Terror – The Unz Review

The latest attack in Garland Texas has just kicked up the rhetoric another notch……Americans are starting to see “boogies” behind every tree…..the government helps fuel that fire as much as possible without appearing to be the source of the report…..

All this just makes the never ending war on terrorism last a little longer…..it has become a generational war……how many generations depends on many factors….fear being the most powerful.

How long do Americans want to be at war?  How much is too much?

Read on McDuff!

Can Rand Paul Turn America into Less of a Global Busybody? | National Review Online

Continuing my Monday morning draft  dump….kinda like a news dump but far more interesting……

Political pundits are calling the election of 2016 as the “Foreign Policy Election”…..if true then Sen. Paul may have a upper edge on the rest of the babbling Right.

His Libertarian leanings will attractive those that look for the US to put aside its propensity for interventionism…….can Paul convince Americans that he will stop our endless wars through intervention…….

Once elected (if that is a possibility) would he hold to his promises on the campaign trail?

The New Axis of Evil: Saudi Arabia and Israel | American Free Press

I write everyday and some days I write too much and save my overreach in the draft folder…..and I noticed that the folder is in overload…..so Today I will be posted some of those saved drafts…..just an attempt to clear out the spider webs…….enjoy…….

Axis Of Evil?  Remember when GW coined the term and it has been a conservative slogan ever since……..but the events unfolding in the Middle East is giving the world a new axis of evil…..some will not like the new definition but it is true nonetheless……..

Looks like the Saudis and the Israelis have a mutual protection pact of some sort…….they seem to be working together on a couple different levels…..at the same time working against US interests…….
