Texas: “Pandering To Idiots”

Oh my god!  Really?

There comes a time when a sane person just has to ask………….”WTF?”

It seems that the governor of Texas is all caught up in the US government going to take away our liberties…….you know those mental midgets that see black copters and indoctrination centers at FEMA and some hidden agenda everywhere including your bathroom ….

Texas has gone batcrap crazy!

The US military says its seven-state Operation Jade Helm 15 this summer will be a training drill for special forces—but Gov. Greg Abbott appears to have his doubts. Amid online conspiracy theories that the operation is an excuse for President Obama to impose martial law on Texas and put political prisoners in FEMA camps disguised as closed Walmarts, the Texas governor announced last week he had ordered the State Guard to monitor the military exercises to safeguard the “safety, constitutional rights, private property rights, and civil liberties” of Texans, NPR reports. This was too much for some of Abbott’s fellow Republicans, including former State Rep. Todd Smith, who accused the governor of “pandering to idiots.”

“I am horrified that I have to choose between the possibility that my Governor actually believes this stuff and the possibility that my Governor doesn’t have the backbone to stand up to those who do,” Smith wrote in an open letter to the governor. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, meanwhile, says he does not believe the military operation is cover for a coup, but his office will ask the Pentagon about it anyway because “the federal government has not demonstrated itself to be trustworthy in this administration,” Raw Story reports. It’s not clear why the July 15 to September 15 exercise has generated such paranoia, though the “perhaps impolitic” slogan “Mastering the Human Domain” may have worked against it, writes Bob Campbell at the Odessa American.

At least there is one sane person in the Texas legislature…….State Rep. Todd Smith…….I do believe that he has spoken words to truth…….

Sad part is that the governor of Texas is not alone for being a moron….apparently that trait runs deep……especially in the Southern Tier of states……..

Free And Fair Elections

2016 and yes Gertrude we have another election and it has turned into my unofficial day of elections……why not talk about the election process.

We hear all the time about this group or that bitching about the elections in some form or another…..either it is rigged for minorities or the guys are buying their wins……but all of this is just fodder for the media.

Elections may be in worse shape than even you can imagine…….

We have a group that is suppose to oversee the elections to be sure that they are fair and free……the Federal Election Commission.  This commission oversees the elections to be sure that NO federal laws are broken…..many to include me think that they are not doing a good job……we can place a lot of blame on Citizen United ruling…………what is most humorous is that the head of the FEC does not think so either……..

Sure, people moan about political kingmaking, the soaring cost of campaigns, and the money bombs both sidesare dropping, but when the person doing the moaning is the chairwoman of the federal body set up to regulate money in politics, one tends to take notice. “The likelihood of the laws being enforced is slim,” Federal Election Commission Chair Ann Ravel tells the New York Times, speaking of the 2016 election. “I never want to give up, but I’m not under any illusions. People think the FEC is dysfunctional. It’s worse than dysfunctional.” The body is made up of three Democrats and three Republicans, notes the Times, describing the state of affairs thusly: “Some commissioners are barely on speaking terms, cross-aisle negotiations are infrequent, and with no consensus on which rules to enforce, the caseload against violators has plummeted.”

“It’s the Wild West out there in some ways,” says one campaign finance lawyer. Part of the issue: Presidential aspirants (looking at you, Martin O’Malley and Jeb Bush) are legitimately raising millions outside the FEC’s purview by simple virtue of not having declared their candidacies. It’s worth noting, however, that Ravel’s complaint appears to be a Democratic one: Republicans see little issue with how the FEC is functioning, notes the Times, with one commissioner saying, “Congress set this place up to gridlock. The democracy isn’t collapsing around us.” Adds another: “We’re not interested in going after people unless the law is fairly clear, and we’re not willing to take the law beyond where it’s written,” while Democrats tend to see the law “more broadly.”

Sadly…..we may never see a fair and free election ever again…..that is until the voter wakes up from their comatose condition and truly want a free and fair election……and thanx to the media that will not happen in my lifetime.

GOP: A Sarah In Carly Clothing?

It is our lucky day!

A busy day in the line for filing to run for prez………a popular past time among GOPers……..

Its official yet another GOP candidate for the fire……we have a plethora of male d/bags, a black retired doctor and now we have a female running for the nomination of the GOP for the 2016 election….shades of Palin?  Oh joy.

Yep Carly Fiorina is running for president of the good old USA…….since she could not win as governor of California or was it US Senator?……..But that somehow should give her a leg up for the presidency……..I just love these people that have more money than brains and must feed that ever expanding ego…..and this one has that huge ego problem.

Say hello to our newest GOP candidate……..

“I think I’m the best person for the job because I understand how economy actually works,” Fiorina said during an interview on ABC’s Good Morning America.
Although she is considered a longshot candidate, Fiorina has positioned herself as a foil to Hillary Clinton, often attacking the Democratic candidate for her track record as secretary of state and on social issues. The line of attack has been warmly received in the Republican Party, and it is likely that Fiorina will be the only female candidate in the Republican field.
Yep,  GOP now has an attack dog that can say whatever she likes against Clinton and sexism cannot be a way to criticize…..

The GOP has been looking for that “special” lady to fill in where Palin crapped out…..is this that “special” lady?  We could make a comparison like they are both GOP women and……..(give me a minute I am thinking)…….never mind!  I do not think she is capable of that down ho,me demeanor that Palin had…….they both can sling worthless red meat at the micro brained base but in the end they are both completely worthless as candidates.

We all wait on baited breath for an announcement from Huckabee and then the field of wackos will be complete………and we wait!

GOP: Another Clown For The Car

Things work out weird sometimes…….like today…..I never intended on this being a pre-2016 election special…..but as thing work out it is……..I know a bit early but as they say “fore-warned is fore-armed”……..

The GOP is growing and an alarming rate……soon every GOP voter will have their own personal candidate.

The newest candidate is 2016’s version of 2012’s Herman Cain……..Dr, Ben Carson, a bored retire doctor with very little intelligent thing to say…….but he is running……..

The three senators officially seeking the GOP nomination are have been joined by somebody with more experience in brain surgery than politics. “I’m willing to be part of the equation and therefore, I’m announcing my candidacy for President of the United States of America,” retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson tells CBS 12. The 63-year-old is expected to launch his candidacy at an event in his hometown, Detroit, this morning, reports the New York Times, which notes that the field is filling up: Sens. Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Rand Paul have already declared, former Hewlett-Packard chief executive Carly Fiorina is expected to enter the race today, and Mike Huckabee is expected to follow suit tomorrow.

Carson has never been elected to political office, but he doesn’t see political inexperience as a drawback and polls put him right in the middle of the potential GOP field, ahead of the likes of Rick Santorum, reports CNN. After his speech today, the vocal opponent of ObamaCare plans to travel to Iowa, where a pro-Carson political action committee says it has already recruited leaders in all 99 counties, the Times reports. In March, Carson apologized for claiming that prison proves homosexuality is a choice, and he tells CBS 12 he has learned from the experience. “I don’t wander off into those extraneous areas that can be exploited. I have learned that,” he says.

YAWN!  And more yawns to come.

The election of 2016 will be a biggie……looks like we will have a wide array of candidates from which to choose……I worry that voters will pick something stupid as race or gender as the criteria for the vote…….the future of this society is far more important than some popularity contest……..we need to vote on issues….issues that will make life better for ALL Americans not some minor twats that control everything……but will we?

I like Bernie…..he has NEVER played nice with fellow Dems when he considered them wrong….I like that and so should the voter.

Finally we have a real Democrat running for the nomination…..we can debate that point later……right now we need to know the differences in the stands on a couple of issues between Bernie and Clinton……

I realize that most Americans have a full plate….I mean with the concern over Jenner’s sex and the Royal baby watch (spoiler alert!  It was a girl!)…..they do not have much time to check out potential candidates for the highest office in the nation…..

The media is definitely in the Clinton camp……all reports on Bernie make sure to state that he has no chance of winning the nomination and then goes on to explain why he is running……..but if you are not convinced of the unbeatable status the media has given Clinton then check out other possibilities……..

Now that Bernie has made it official and will stand in opposition to Clinton…..what do you know about his stand on the issues?

Bernie should be an excellent opponent in the debates……….
