The Hate For Obamacare

I know there are many that hate Obamacare…….it is an easy target since there has not been any of the law that has any track record so it is easy to oppose it but there are a few things that some might want to check out before the condemnation gets too deep…..

Here’s a roundup of the very latest Obamacare news:

I understand the dislike for Obamacare…I personally do not like this act….but then at least they tried to do the right thing and so far I have seen n othing as far as an alternative goes…….

All I ask is that before you hate something try to understand it…..that is the logical path….but then anything about Obama is anything but logical……why do I say such an absurd thingz?

Recently a poll of Repubs was taken about the poor government response to Hurricane Katrina and who was to blame for the lack of action…….

44% said Not Sure

28% said Bush and 29% said Obama…..now I realize it has been 8 years since Katrina but to blame Obama is a stretch…..so Repubs HATE Obama, for whatever reason< so much that he is blamed for something he had NO hand in……why is that?  I have my thoughts but let me hear from others…

One Trick Pony

After their rousing defeat in the 2012 elections and all the talk about re-branding the party to make it a “Big Tent”….pretty much a way to find an excuse for having no ideas and BS candidates……but now let’s ask….how is that re-branding going?

Not so good right now…..

Kinda sounds all too familiar….at least to me.

But none of that would make them a “one trick pony”……all that comes from the only issue they have….repeal Obamacare……

It has been many many years since the GOPhas had NOTHING to offer people other than a single issue….they pushed some issues more than others but this time around it is a one trick pony……repeal Obamacare….

The next national election is Not that far away and the repubs have NOTHING to offer undecideds (I dislike that word but for now I will use it)……they have NOTHING on immigration, lots of talk but NO substantial solution, they have NOTHING on creating jobs, if you want people to vote for you then maybe more attention ought to be paid to this one subject, and they have NOTHING to offer as an alternative to Obamacare, other than repeal it!

But do they have this one issue?

I see several reasons…….1–it is just too damn easy to make a case on a program that has not been fully implemented…….lies and misinformation will play well to those that dislike the Prez, whatever is plans are……..2–this one is most important in my mind…..they are afraid of talk radio….they are afraid to offer up reason because they will be torn apart and 3–they are afraid of a primary challenge from the extreme of the party.

Their big deal is to defund the law……..they cannot do this….it makes great fodder for talk shows and townhalls but the best they can do is gain control and change the law……this they cannot do without an alternative……and now we have come full circle…….ONE TRICK PONY!

What Is Up With The GOP? Part One

This seems to be the question asked by many people……some suggest that they are having an internal battle for control……others think they are simply in self-destruct mode……..and then there are those, like myself that feel this was inevitable, a civil war that has been brewing since the mid 1990’s……

The GOP’s biggest problem is…..REALITY!

Republicans are hitting a wall in the House: the wall between ideology and reality, writes Paul Krugman in the New York Times. They’re happy to vote for a bill that calls for enormous spending cuts, but when it comes to selecting actual programs to slash, the party can’t get the votes. Last week, for instance, Republicans had to drop a vote on a cost-cutting transportation measure due to lack of support—even though they recently approved an “extreme austerity” budget. Shortly afterward, they voted to repeal ObamaCare for the 40th time, Krugman writes, “apparently just to make themselves feel better.” Then it was recess. “In other words, Republicans, confronted with the responsibilities of governing, essentially threw a tantrum, then ran off to sulk,” Krugman writes. A central problem is Paul Ryan’s budget moves. He’s “a magic-asterisk kind of guy—someone who makes big claims about having a plan to slash deficits but refuses to spell out any of the all-important details.” But turning the “big talk into actual legislation” isn’t feasible. “Yet Republicans aren’t willing to face up to that reality. Instead, they’re just running away.” Click for Krugman’s full column

To me it looks a lot like ….nihilism…….so that you do not have to trouble yourself with Google…..I will help…….

Nihilism is the belief that all values are baseless and that nothing can be known or communicated. It is often associated with extreme pessimism and a radical skepticism that condemns existence. A true nihilist would believe in nothing, have no loyalties, and no purpose other than, perhaps, an impulse to destroy. While few philosophers would claim to be nihilists, nihilism is most often associated with Friedrich Nietzsche who argued that its corrosive effects would eventually destroy all moral, religious, and metaphysical convictions and precipitate the greatest crisis in human history. In the 20th century, nihilistic themes–epistemological failure, value destruction, and cosmic purposelessness–have preoccupied artists, social critics, and philosophers. Mid-century, for example, the existentialists helped popularize tenets of nihilism in their attempts to blunt its destructive potential. By the end of the century, existential despair as a response to nihilism gave way to an attitude of indifference, often associated with antifoundationalism.

Basically and simply put………The belief that destruction of existing political or social institutions is necessary for future improvement.  The reality as I see it is……the Tea Party or those clowns we elect and label them as Tea Party, are doing their best to rid the GOP of anything positive and anyone……these people are displaying classical nihilism.

What To Do About Egypt?

We all know the story…..Egypt erupted in revolution and Mubarak had to go….they had an election and the Muslim Brotherhood won…..then they had to go….and now the country is controlled by the army as it was in the 60’s…..but the question is….what to do about Egypt?

A recent poll was taken asking if the Prez was doing all he could for the Egyptian people…..50% said not enough…..12% said to tough……,showing that the American people want the Prez to do more to help Egypt in its time of need.

First, about 70% of the responders could not find Egypt on a map…….second, these people are defending the Brotherhood because they were elected…..just 2 short years ago they were on the Terrorist list……and why is Hamas, which is on the list, not given the same defense after all they were elected by the people….okay my soap box is closed for now….

Let me help a bit…….

map of Egypt

Most people are screaming for the cut off of US aid, about $1.5 billion, tyo Egypt to punish them for this coup……there is a problem there…..the US will cut a deal with Saudi Arabia or some other Oil kingdom to make up the shortfall to Egypt for future considerations….it will be a good propaganda talking point but in reality the Egyptian military will continue to get their aid….people need to stop and smell the fecal matter!

The American people, according to polls, wants the US to be more involved……what does that mean?  Egypt is for the people of that country and any attempt to influence them into doing what we want is tantamount to imperialism in the making….and that could be extremely devastating to Egypt as well as the US….look at Iran….we were actively involved in the making the Shah the leader and in turn a dictator….and how did that work out for us in 1979?

Let Egypt solve their own problems……..in the end the Egyptian people will get the government they deserve……whether you like it or not.  US meddling can only be harmful…..as it has been in the past.
