R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

Can you hear Aretha belting out this tune?

Okay moving on!  I suppose that most everyone has heard all the hoopla about the mayor of San Diego…..all the women this perv has hit on and such…….a disgusting situation in the vain of Vitter, Weiner and Ensign…….people in power using their station to prey on women……not everybody is cool with his issues…..

(Newser) – In a move that might force you to give it some respect, Hooters has decided not to serve scandalized San Diego Mayor Bob Filner. The executive director of the San Diego Republican Party was the first to publicize the news, tweeting out a picture of a sign in one Hooters window reading:

  • “This establishment recognizes that we all have political differences and we serve people from all walks of life. We also believe it is imperative for people to have standards. The mayor of San Diego will not be served in this establishment. We believe women should be treated with respect.”

BuzzFeed has pictures of the same sign appearing in another restaurant, and the word from Hooters’ official Twitter account is: “Our Hooters Girls in San Diego have spoken. Not a corporate gig, but we support our girls.” Oddest twist: It looks like the campaign originated with Glenn Beck, who last week presented the sign, which he says he created, on his show, notes the Blaze. “I think this sign should be in every establishment in San Diego,” he said.

The mayor, who still refuses to resign despite allegations of sexual harassment from at least 14 women, yesterday responded to the attempt to recall him from office, saying that “now is not the time to go backwards.” But things are looking even worse for him, reports CNN, with a city councilman asking him to explain more than $500 in charges to his official city credit card. The charges are from the Westgate Hotel, which is across the street from the mayor’s office, and regulars at the hotel bar say Filner was often there with various women. The city councilman points out that the card also includes charges from an online reputation-management firm ($3,000), a trip to Paris ($30,000), and a juicer ($128).

I think it is a great idea for businesses to get involved with dealing with the perv……….but (there is always a but)………a company that forces its employees to wear Daisy Duke’s and a t-shirt that is about 4 sizes too small should not use “treating women with respect” as a reason for not wanting the mayor in their stores……..

I do not see anything respectful about the attire they must wear to hold a job…….not saying I do not appreciate it….just that it is the furthest thing from respectful…….thoughts?

America’s First War On Communism

Inkwell Institute

I was watching the History Channel the other night, and believe it or not they actually had a program that dealt with history and not some moronic reality crap…….anyway the show was a bout what the narrator called America’s first war on communism…….the show was about the Korean War and its situations……..

Basically, the premise was that the US began fighting communism straight on during the Korean War……and all else was just a continuation of that conflict……as a political historian I disagree with that assertion….actually America’s first war on communism was in 1918…….(pause here for the facial expressions of derision…….)  That is right…..1918!

I am sure that all you that worry about creeping communism will recall the Bolsheviks led an upraising against the czar, Nicholas and thus began the paranoia of creeping communism (granted a bit simplistic but any more and I will lose so many readers)……..after the Bolsheviks took power there was a civil war between the communists and the imperialists and this is where the US happened to invade Russia along with other countries like Britain, France, Japan and Italy and other lesser allies…….but why would the US invade Russia?

I will let Wikipedia take it from here………..

The Allied intervention was a multi-national military expedition launched during the Russian Civil War in 1918. Its operations included forces from 14 nations[1] and were conducted over a vast territory. The initial stated goals were to help the Czechoslovak Legions, secure supplies of munitions and armaments in Russian ports, and re-establish the Eastern front. After winning the war in Europe, the Allied powers militarily backed the pro-Tsarist, anti-BolshevikWhite forces in Russia. Allied efforts were hampered by divided objectives, lack of an overarching strategy, war weariness and a lack of public support. These factors, together with the evacuation of the Czechoslovak Legion and the deteriorating situation compelled the Allies to withdraw from North Russia and Siberia in 1920, though Japanese forces occupied parts of Siberia until 1922 and the northern half of Sakhalin until 1925.[2]

With the end of Allied support, the Red Army was able to inflict defeats on the remaining White government forces, leading to their eventual collapse. The Allied intervention and its foreign troops were effectively used by the Bolsheviks to argue that their enemies were backed by Western capitalists. The Bolsheviks were eventually victorious and established the Soviet Union.

America’s involvement was no small participation……about 13, 000 American troops were involved……..

My intent is to set the record straight….Korea was NOT the first face to face war on communism……..and it would not be the last.

BTW…..I am sending a copy to the History Channel…..
