It is Sunday and as usual I tried to find something that is not involved with politics to do a post on and I found a doosey……….

By now most us will know just how groundbreaking MTV has been in the past…the first vid channel….first vid award….the first …..well you get the picture……but now they are first yet again…the first to go to child porn as entertainment…..(is that not something one goes to prison for?)

Their new show “Skins” is an instant hit….3.3 million viewers for the first show…..

That pressure is already beginning to mount. At least one advertiser, Taco Bell, announced it is pulling its commercials from future shows.

Taco Bell is not the only organization up in arms about the new show. The Parents Television Council called on the chairmen of the U.S. Senate and House Judiciary committees and the Department of Justice to open investigations about what the PTC alleges is child pornography on “Skins” involving actors as young as 15.

Among the concerns are the ages of some of the actors. Several “Skins” cast members are as young as 15 years old. Their roles in upcoming episodes, which include nudity, have prompted some to wonder whether MTV is doing a delicate dance around child pornography issues.

There is a huge back lash against the show…..

Viacom executives have ordered producers to either make changes or tone down the most explicit content, the New York Times reports.

Meetings on the show were held Tuesday, and executives wondered if they could face criminal prosecution and jail time if the episodes were broadcast without changes, the Times reports.

They are nervous about the third episode of the series, in which 17-year-old actor Jesse Carere is shown running down these street naked from behind. The plot centers around his erection, aided by erectile dysfunction pills. It’s slated to air Jan. 31.

I understand the concern and the outrage……child porn is a problem in this country as well as the rest of the world….but should not someone feel obliged to ask the question….where are the parents of these children?

Come on…you can piss and moan about the content of the show…..but why would parents allow their children to be portrayed as sex addicts and drug addicts?  Should not the focus should be on the parents?  These are minors!  And if I go to jail for offering a drink to a minor, should not these parents be held to some sort of accountability?

I realize the money may be good, but this smacks of pimping your kids out to perverts….
