How pathetic is this?

All the misinformation and lies that is swirling around the vaccine has some interesting side effects.

Like the situation in Missouri.

People in Missouri are reportedly disguising themselves so that their friends and family won’t find out that they getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

Dr. Priscilla Frase of Ozarks Healthcare told ABC News that she had seen more than one person in disguise.

“I’ve had several people come in to get vaccinated who have sort of tried to disguise their appearance and even went so far as to say, ‘Please, please, please don’t let anybody know that I got this vaccine. I don’t want my friends to know,'” Frase explained.

According to the report, Ozarks Healthcare now offers a “private setting” so that patients can get the vaccine without being seen.

How damn sad is this that one has to resort to disguises to get possible life saving treatment.

Damn!  The misinformation BS is doing a good jab and keeping Americans from health care…..

Common sense and rational thought has left the room.

And Missouri is not alone.

Oh joy!  Since I live just north of a hurricane I am always watching the weather come 01  June….and now we have our first storm in the Caribbean, Elsa…..

Florida may soon feel the wrath of Elsa—and it’s going to be windy, not icy. Hurricane Elsa, which was preceded by Tropical Storms Ana, Bill, Claudette, and Danny, is the first hurricane of the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season and the earliest E-named storm on record, reports AccuWeather. The previous record was held by Tropical Storm Eduardo, which formed on July 6 last year. Elsa lashed the eastern Caribbean with heavy rain and winds early Friday and it is on a course that could bring it to Florida early Tuesday, the AP reports.

The storm hit Barbados early Friday, and a hurricane watch is in place for islands including St. Vincent, where many people are still in shelters after volcanic eruptions earlier this year. The National Hurricane Center says tropical storm conditions are expected in Haiti and the Dominican Republic Saturday. The center says there is a risk of storm surge and other conditions in Florida early next week, but the “forecast uncertainty remains larger than usual due to Elsa’s potential interactions with the Greater Antilles this weekend.”

Florida does not need any more bad news….

Covid is still making news….less than half of the nation’s population is fully vaccinated…..I can say here that I am one of those that has had the full course…….

There is always bad news about the virus in the MSM…..but once in awhile there is good news….and this is one of those rare reports.

Anyone who received a double dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines may not need a booster shot anytime soon. A new study in Nature suggests that the mRNA vaccines provide years of protection—maybe even a lifetime of it, reports the New York Times. One big caveat: The virus is ever-evolving, and a significant new variation could make boosters necessary. The peer-reviewed study did not explicitly address the new Delta strain, which is thought to be particularly contagious, notes Forbes. Nor did the sample study include anyone who received the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, though lead researcher Dr. Ali Ellebedy of Washington University in St. Louis says the J&J immune response would likely be less robust over the long run. But on the mRNA vaccines, the news is better.

“It’s a good sign for how durable our immunity is from this vaccine,” says Ellebedy. The study buttresses earlier research suggesting that people who recovered from COVID retained protection for nearly a year, notes Fox News. The new study set out to see if the vaccines could provide similar protection, and certain cells found in recipients’ lymph nodes suggest they do. As for the worrisome variants, a University of Washington immunologist in Seattle has a counter to that based on the research. “Everyone always focuses on the virus evolving—this is showing that the B cells are doing the same thing,” Marion Pepper tells the Times. “And it’s going to be protective against ongoing evolution of the virus, which is really encouraging.”

Makes me smile since I was given the Moderna vaccine…..I was not looking forward to a booster ever so often…..

There are a few things that need to be reported around the virus….

New, varied medical issues are plaguing hundreds of thousands of people who contracted COVID-19, even those who didn’t become ill from the coronavirus, a study has found. The study, the most comprehensive of its kind, examined the insurance records of almost 2 million US patients who caught the virus in 2020, the New York Times reports. The findings mean the nation’s health care system, as well as COVID patients, will have to adapt to the disease’s lasting effects, experts cautioned. The study was conducted by FAIR Health, a nonprofit. The report said:

  • The conditions people most often sought treatment for are pain, often in nerves and muscles; breathing problems; high cholesterol; and high blood pressure.
  • 5% of patients, more than a fifth of those who reported post-COVID problems, had new pain.
  • Breathing problems accounted for 3.5% of the reports.
  • Malaise and fatigue, which can include the brain fog that patients with long COVID have reported, affected almost 3% of the patients.
  • Those in their 40s and 50s, especially, reported high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
  • More than half of the 2 million people who’d had COVID-19 had no symptoms, while 40% had symptoms but didn’t need to be hospitalized.

Those ideas about a so-called “vaccination passport” as a way to guarantee that people have truly been vaccinated has drawn a lot of criticism……and now Ted Cruz has taken the silly cultural war subject by the horns…..

U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), and Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) today introduced legislation to stop the federal government from establishing COVID-19 passports or working with third parties to establish their own vaccine passports, such as airlines or other global entities. This bill imposes a five-year prohibition on any government vaccine mandate for vaccines first authorized by the FDA through an Emergency Use Authorization. As millions of Americans receive the COVID-19 vaccine, Texas and 11 other states have already passed legislation preventing statewide vaccine passport mandates.

Upon introducing this bill, Sen. Cruz said:

“Americans shouldn’t be discriminated against because of COVID-19 vaccine status – whether that is at work or in everyday life. Americans have a well-established right to privacy that any mandated vaccine passport would destroy. A vaccine passport would be discriminatory against people who, for whatever reason, do not get the COVID-19 vaccine. We should be encouraging individuals to receive the vaccine through increased patient protections, not mandating it.

“The truth is not everyone can receive the COVID-19 vaccine – for legitimate reasons. I got the vaccine because it was the right decision for me, but people should be free to make the decision that is right for them and consult with their doctor if they have concerns. Individuals who are unable to receive the vaccine should not be denied access to aspects of everyday life or the opportunity to participate in society. Mandating the vaccine or requiring all individuals to be fully vaccinated before returning to normal life could prevent America from fully reopening.”

Then there is that federal law……

As millions of Americans continue to get vaccinated against COVID-19, some employers, colleges and businesses are weighing whether to make vaccination mandatory. A widely shared claim on social media says those measures are against the law.

An Instagram post published May 10 says Americans “have the right to refuse” coronavirus vaccine mandates.

“Under Emergency Use Authorization, no employer, biz, or govt can make the #COVID19vaccine mandatory until it’s evaluated in 2 yrs,” says text in the post, which is a screenshot of an April 1 tweet.

The law cited in the posts has to do with emergency use authorizations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The law says nothing about a required two-year evaluation period for vaccines approved for emergency use. While there is a legal gray area for mandating vaccines authorized for emergency use,businesses, employers and state governments generally have the power to require vaccination, experts say.

I have my proof on my phone and will gladly show it to anyone that asks…..personally I do not trust the American to be honest about their vaxes…..

Recently my granddaughter graduated high school and at the ceremony I would day less than 10% of those attending wore masks…..and I know that 90% of those people were not vaccinated.

I do not trust the people in my Red State….I have more trust that a rattlesnake will not strike than in the people.

Wasted Along The Way

There has been several reports of the much needed Covid vaccine that has been wasted in one form or another…..and now we know the biggest waste comes from….wait for it……pharma chains…..

Of the 182,874 doses of COVID vaccine wasted in the US as of late March, 128,500 were the responsibility of CVS and Walgreens. A report from Kaiser Health News says almost 50% of the doses reported to the CDC as wasted were supposed to be distributed CVS, and 21% by Walgreens. Those numbers are mostly from the beginning of the vaccination push, per the Guardian. Pfizer and Moderna shots have a very short shelf life once they’re taken out of cold storage: six and five hours, respectively. If a freezer breaks, a syringe malfunctions, or someone doesn’t show up for an appointment, shots may not make it into arms. Indeed, a CVS rep blamed challenges with transportation and “redirecting unused doses,” and said “despite the inherent challenges, our teams were able to limit waste to approximately one dose per onsite vaccination clinic,” Today reports.

The CDC cut the pharmacies some slack. Spokesperson Kate Fowlie said that because they were entrusted with distributing so many shots, “a higher percentage of the overall wastage would not be unexpected, particularly in an early vaccination effort that spanned thousands of locations.” To wit, Walgreens said wasted shots made up less than 0.5% of the more than 8 million doses it successfully distributed through March 29. CVS added that almost all of its unused vaccines were generated early on when it was tasked with vaccinating long-term-care-facility resident and staff. And those late March numbers? They don’t include all the data—the CDC is still gathering information about doses and waste from several states and US territories.

Is this taxpayer cash being wasted?

Not to worry….that is the one thing we do exceptional well….waste money!

That 3rd Jab

Yesterday I finally got my first Covid jab.

After my next jab I will be fully inoculated against Covid, right?

Well maybe not so much…..they are issuing a warning that a third shot may be necessary to stay ‘clean’…..

They’re called “breakthrough cases,” and they’re breakthroughs of the unwanted variety. The term refers to people diagnosed with COVID after being fully vaccinated. The CDC has reported its first such count, coming up with 5,800 cases, reports CNN. But maybe the more important stat to keep in mind is that the figure is out of about 77 million people who are fully vaccinated. That means only a fraction of a percentage of vaccinated people are getting sick, note health officials such as Anthony Fauci. Coverage:

  • “You will always see some breakthrough infections no matter the efficacy of your vaccine,” Fauci tells the Wall Street Journal. “Before people get excited about the quantitative number of infections, they need to understand what the denominator is, and we’re going to see breakthroughs in numbers that are going to be well within the 90%, 95%, 97% effectiveness rates of the vaccines.”
  • Of the 5,800 who have gotten sick, about 400 (7%) required hospitalization and 74 died.
  • More than 40% of the breakthrough cases occurred in people older than 60, and 65% involved female patients. About 30% of the cases were asymptomatic.
  • A few factors could explain infections after vaccinations, per the Journal. Older people or those with compromised immune systems might not produce a robust immune response after inoculation; being present at a superspreader event could overwhelm a person’s defenses with a high viral load; or the person might be exposed to a more contagious variant. Even if none of those factors is present, no vaccine is 100% protective.
  • Researchers, though, are still exploring exactly what’s happening. “Is it people in the lower part of the vaccine response mixing with the variants?” Dr. Alexander Greninger of the University of Washington tells NPR. “I think it’s a little bit more—honestly—mysterious.”
  • In an appearance on CNBC, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said people will probably need a third shot of the company’s vaccine within 12 months of being fully vaccinated. Annual shots also are a possibility, he adds. It all depends on how the vaccine holds up over time amid new variants.
  • In regard to breakthrough cases in particular, NPR gathers a quote from Dr. Saad Omer of Yale to sum things up. “The bottom line is: It’s expected,” he says. “No need to freak out.”

I want to be safe….but I ask….my first two jabs were free….will the third be as well?

The reason I ask is that the media is hard selling this possibility…is it news or hype?

Is this just a way for Pharma to make a killing from fear?

I am suspicious of the “oh yeah you will need a continue regiment to stay safe”…..

I may be a cynic but it is not like corporations have not been fleecing the population for decades….I use the price of insulin as an example.
