Hey let’s talk about the Nobel Peace Prize.  There is a steady beat of those that think Our Dear Leader should get the Peace Prize because of the NK meeting and then the Russian meeting……

No I am not going to go off on some rant about why Trump does not deserve the prize…though I can see why you might think that…..nope this post is about the co-founder of a youth charity who was nominated for the prize in 2015……..

The 22-year-old co-founder of a charity that advocates for victims of sexual violence was arrested on Tuesday in New York for possession of child pornography and for working to arrange sexual encounters with children as young as two years old. Joel Davis — who helped found Youth to End Sexual Violence, and chaired the UN’s International Campaign to Stop Rape and Gender Violence in Conflict — has been charged with several counts, including attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity, after exchanging messages with undercover federal agents earlier this month.

During those text message exchanges, Davis had told undercover law enforcement officers that he was sexually interested in children of all ages, including infants, and had sent the officers explicit photographs of infants and toddlers. Some of the photos showed the minors engaged in sexual activity with adults.

Davis, who had previously been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2015 and had served as the U.S.’ Youth Ambassador on Sexual Violence in Conflict, also told the officers of his intention to engage in sexual activities with an undercover officer’s nine-year-old daughter and the two-year-old daughter of the officer’s girlfriend. He is alleged to have gone into great detail about the sexual activities he wished to perform with the children.

Since 2010 I have been leery of the Tea Party and especially their so-called caucus in Congress, the Freedom Caucus……ever noticed the more extremist the group the more patriotic their names are?

Any way one of their “leaders’ is Rep. Jordan of Ohio and he is having his problems with the time before his Congressional days….

A team doctor who allegedly molested athletes; coaches who reportedly knew but turned a blind eye. It’s not the story of Michigan State University and Larry Nassar but that of Ohio State—and the allegations are touching a “powerful” Republican congressman. NBC News on Tuesday reported on claims from three former wrestlers who say the late Dr. Richard Strauss molested players during his tenure with the team from the mid-’70s to late ’90s—and that Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, the team’s assistant wrestling coach for the 1986 to 1994 period, knew. Jordan denied being aware of the abuse claims several months ago (the university said in April it was investigating) and repeated that denial Tuesday. But those NBC News spoke with say that just isn’t so. More:

  • Former wrestler Dunyasha Yetts says he went straight to Jordan after Strauss began to remove his wrestling shorts when he sought help for a thumb injury. He said Jordan and then-head coach Russ Hellickson spoke with Strauss, who the New York Times reports committed suicide in 2005. Yetts says it was far from the only discussion players had with Jordan, and that it was commonly known Strauss showered with players though he didn’t work out.
  • Mike DiSabato, another player who spoke with NBC News, got detailed in an interview with CNN: “I never saw Doc Strauss … where he didn’t ask me to—where I went to see him for medicine or whatever, finger injury, shoulder, knee—where he did not want to examine my testicles. He groped. Every time. If you wanted your meds, if you wanted to stay healthy … so that you could stay on scholarship, you grinned and beared it, so to speak.”
  • CNN says male members from 14 of the university’s sports teams—among them baseball, fencing, football, swimming, and track—have levied allegations against Strauss per Ohio State. Some 150 people have been interviewed as part of the probe.
  • What a rep for Jordan had to say after NBC News published its article: “Congressman Jordan never saw any abuse, never heard about any abuse and never had any abuse reported to him during his time as a coach at Ohio State. He has not been contacted by investigators about the matter but will assist them in any way they ask because, if what is alleged is true, the victims deserve a full investigation and justice.”
  • The Columbus Dispatch quotes a written statement from Porter Wright Morris & Arthur attorney Kathleen Trafford as saying Jordan was contacted by phone and email but did not respond to the interview requests. Jordan’s rep countered this, demanding “that they send us the supposed communication” and noting Jordan remains “willing to assist.”

The Times gives context to Jordan’s position in the House, describing the Freedom Caucus member as being floated as a potential successor to Paul Ryan as speaker. Though the Times sees that outcome as “unlikely,” it believes he’ll exert influence over the selection.

Of course he is denying an knowledge of the abuse….as we would expect……I say if guilty he needs to be a BBQ…..and as we would expect he is blaming his enemies and the media for his problems…..let the case go where it must…..

While writing this draft more news on the Jordan front has come to light…..

The number of Ohio State wrestlers who’ve come forward to say Rep. Jim Jordan knew about abuse at the hands of their team doctor is rising, despite Jordan’s adamant denials. After an initial report on three former wrestlers, NBC News interviews a fourth accuser, Shawn Dailey, who says he was groped several times by Dr. Richard Strauss in the mid-’90s, when Jordan was the team’s assistant coach. “It was very common knowledge in the locker room that if you went to Dr. Strauss for anything, you would have to pull your pants down,” Dailey, now 43, says, adding he never approached Jordan about his own abuse but took part in locker room discussions about Strauss with Jordan. Dailey specifically backs up the account of former teammate Dunyasha Yetts, saying Jordan’s reply to Yetts after Yetts complained about Strauss was: “If he tried that with me, I would kill him.”

Dailey notes he’s a Republican, like Jordan, whom he calls a “close friend” and “good guy” whose campaign he donated to in 1994. Still, “what happened drove me out of the sport,” he says. “So I was surprised to hear Jim say that he knew nothing about it. … That’s kind of hurtful.” Former UFC champ Mark Coleman also speaks out, telling the Wall Street Journal “there’s no way unless [Jordan’s] got dementia or something that he’s got no recollection of what was going on at Ohio State. … I have nothing but respect for this man, I love this man, but he knew as far as I’m concerned.” Meanwhile, President Trump has weighed in, telling reporters Thursday that he believes Jordan “100%, no question in my mind.” “Jim Jordan is one of the most outstanding people I’ve met since I’ve been in Washington,” Trump said, adding he doesn’t believe the allegations against him “at all.”

Of course the president will not believe the allegations…Jordan is his butt boy in the House with Nunes……birds of a feather sort of thing.

No secret that I would like to see Rep. Jordan run out of Washington….but not like this…..I prefer that he be beat at the polls.

First of all…this day in history has been a busy day…..1904..US Marines land in North Africa to protect the Belgians….1942..The Battle of the Coral Sea…..1945..the final surrender of German forces…..1952 Allies have the largest bombing of North Korea.

Years ago there were many stories in the media about the rise in sexual assault among our troops….that was in the  dark ages of news before Trump……but even though it is not making news these days….the crime has not gone away….

Reports of sexual assaults across the US military jumped by nearly 10 per cent in 2017, a year that saw a massive online nude-photo sharing scandal rock the services.

Officials familiar with the data say the overall increase was fuelled by a nearly 15-per cent surge in sexual assault reports in the Marine Corps.

The Marines were at the centre of last year’s online investigation. The military services launched a campaign to raise awareness of inappropriate behaviour and beef up enforcement of social media rules and conduct.

The Navy and the Air Force saw increases of about nine per cent in reported sexual assaults, while the Army went up eight per cent. US officials spoke on condition of anonymity to provide details ahead of the public release of the report.

It is sad that women should have to face this danger as well as the dangers of multiple deployments in regions of conflict.

The “Slap and Tickle” Saga Goes On!

I have not written much about the continuous sexual allegations that have been pouring out of every pore of American society…I have a problem with these accusations…..they are older than my car….

I am not defending any of these pervs on what they have done but could we please get something a little more current than 1979 or 2006.

I am an old fart and in the 70’s and 80’s I was the manager of a bar….I am not saying that I was fooling around with children of 14 but I also did not ask for their driver license either…..plus being single and normal I would hit on anything on a bar stool…..

Okay let’s talk about a young woman of 14….that is is the age of my granddaughter and if Mr. Perv Moore had hit on her I would taken this dick apart at the seams.

All this “slap and tickle” is getting a bit speculative and redundant….and it is sucking all the oxygen out of other news stories of merit.

Subject:  Sex and Religion

There are a few subjects that I seldom post on….religion is one of those subjects.

Religion is a personal decision by the individual…..I have mine and you have yours and that is the way it should remain.  I do not care about yours and you sure as Hell do not care about mine….

Most of the crazies in the fundamental side of religion have their problems with sex….and some of these people will go to extreme measures to see that NO one enjoys sex.

I found one such story……

From all over the world, they flocked to the tiny town of Spindale, NC, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, lured by promises of inner peace and eternal life. What many found instead: years of terror—waged in the name of the Lord. Congregants of the Word of Faith Fellowship were regularly punched, smacked, choked, slammed to the floor, or thrown through walls in a violent form of deliverance meant to “purify” sinners by beating out devils, 43 former members told the AP in separate, exclusive interviews. Victims of the violence included pre-teens and toddlers—even crying babies, who were vigorously shaken, screamed at, and sometimes smacked to banish demons. Students in the church’s K-12 school were encouraged to beat their own classmates. Several former followers said some congregants of the church were sexually abused, including minors.

Word of Faith Fellowship has been scrutinized on numerous occasions by law enforcement, social services agencies, and the news media since the early 1990s—all without significant impact, mostly because followers refused to cooperate. Those interviewed by the AP—most of them raised in the church—say Word of Faith leaders strong-armed young victims and their parents to lie. They said members were forbidden to seek outside medical attention for their injuries, which included cuts, sprains, and cracked ribs. The former members, some of whom offered up secretly recorded conversations with the church’s controlling leader, Jane Whaley, said they were speaking out now due to guilt for not doing more to stop the abuse and because they fear for the safety of the children still in the church, believed to number about 100. Afghanistan: I Read The News Today

First of all….kudos on getting a Beatles reference in there…..if I cannot throw some history atcha then I will get a Rock reference in……

This post is a disturbing one…..we have all heard a story or two about some action that was taken by our troops that is not too kosher….acts of savagery, etc…..and those reports I seldom report on simply because no one who was not there has no idea what happened to promote the action being reported.  My belief is that if someone has not faced the decisions that must be made in combat then who are they to judge.  Most Americans have no F*cking idea.

I read a report a couple of days ago and waited to see if the media would pick up on it….so far not much…..

Let me say here this is NOT about something that US Troops have done but rather something they witnessed…..sexual abuse by the Afghan army…..

The two U.S. soldiers say they used physical force to drive home their message to the Afghan police commander who had been sexually abusing a boy.

“I picked him up, threw him to the ground multiple times and Charles did the same thing,” Dan Quinn, who was a U.S. Army captain at the time, told CNN. “We basically had to make sure that he fully understood that if he ever went near that boy or his mother again, there was going to be hell to pay.”

The actions of Quinn and the other soldier, Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland, against the American-backed police commander displeased their superiors in the U.S. military.

Quinn says he and Martland were relieved of their duties shortly afterward. Quinn has since left the military and Martland is now being involuntarily separated from the Army.

Would like to hear the excuse for allowing this sort of abuse to continue?

“The reason we weren’t able to step in with these local rape cases was we didn’t want to undermine the authority of the local government,” Quinn said. “We were trying to build up the local government. Us acting after the local government fails to can certainly undermine their credibility.”

The New York Times reported this week that U.S. soldiers and Marines in Afghanistan have been instructed not to intervene in the abuse of Afghan boys by U.S. allies, even in some cases in which it’s taken place on military bases.

The Pentagon denies that telling soldiers to look the other way is official practice.

“We have never had a policy in place that directs any military member, or any government personnel overseas to ignore human rights abuses,” spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis said. “Any sexual abuse, no matter who the alleged perpetrator and no matter who the victim, is completely unacceptable and reprehensible.”

That my friends is called “cover your ass (CYA)”!  If true then why were these two soldiers relieved of duty?

There is more denial……

“I personally have served multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan and am absolutely confident that no such theater policy has ever existed here, and certainly, no such policy has existed throughout my tenure as commander,” Gen. John Campbell wrote in a strongly worded statement released Tuesday.

These two soldiers deserve a medal for their action….not relieved of duty and basically called liars by their commanders.

But what is the source of this abuse?

While I was researching this I found another report…this one in “the Daily Beast”………

U.S. Marines preparing to go overseas are given a detailed training session about the Marine Corps’ own rules against sexual assault. But they are offered practically no guidance on what to do if they witness rape and other sexual abuses by “local nationals” in other countries, including Afghanistan, where child rape is common.A 45-minute scripted presentation given to Marines as part of their pre-deployment process doesn’t say that they shouldn’t report sexual assaults in the countries where they’re serving. But it explains that laws and norms about sexual relations vary from country to country, and that in Afghanistan in particular, sexual assault is a “cultural” issue, and not a purely legal one.The Daily Beast obtained a copy of the script for the training session, which includes a set of PowerPoint slides and instructions about what those leading the session are supposed to say on sexual abuse in other countries.

Seems to support the allegation that US Troops should just look the other way…..Then the prez of Afghanistan had to weigh into the dialog……….

Afghanistan’s president wants the world to know that he’s as outraged as anybody by the widespread practice of abusing young boys and that he’s going to do something about it. President Ashraf Ghani says the rape of boys as young as 6 is “unacceptable” and that his government will stamp it out “to the extent to which the authority of the state can be harnessed,” the New York Times reports. “Six-year-, 8-year-, 10-year-olds are raped, and I’m not going to tolerate this.” He was speaking after reports that US troops had been told to ignore the abuse of boys by their Afghan allies, reports the Times, which notes that the sexual abuse of boys was banned by the Taliban but is now once again common among powerful Afghans, including commanders in the security forces.

In a video conference with military commanders yesterday, Ghani ordered them to “recognize sexual abuse of children as one of the severest crimes and violations of human rights,” Foreign Policy reports. The US military, meanwhile, denies that troops were told not to do anything about abuse involving the Afghan forces they work with, the AP reports. Gen. John Campbell, chief of US and NATO forces in Afghanistan, issued a statement saying he expects “any suspicions of sexual abuse will be immediately reported to the chain of command, regardless of who the alleged perpetrators or victims are.”

I understand the necessity for troops to observe cultural situations….but this one I am on the side of the troops that took matters into their own hands…..you want to hold someone up as a hero….then these troops are HEROES!

This is a situation that needs further investigation…..but will it get it?  It needs the media to look into this as deep as possible……but will they?

I Like These Young Women

 

(Newser) – Two sisters getting harassed and touched by three men on a bus in India weren’t getting any help from other passengers, so they took matters into their own hands: A video of them using their belts to beat the men has gone viral, reports the BBC. Police, meanwhile, have since arrested the three men. The sisters are identified as Arti and Puja Kumar, ages 22 and 19, and local law authorities say they will get some kind of cash award for their bravery. “The men started to abuse me and touch me. I told them, ‘If you touch me again, you’ll get beaten up,'” says Puja. “They called a friend on the phone and told him to ‘come over because we have to beat up some girls.'”

The Hindu reports that the girls began fighting when the men began harassing a pregnant passenger, too. It was the pregnant woman who recorded the altercation on her phone. The girls were eventually forced off the bus and say they fended off the trio yet again. The pregnant woman got off at the next stop, and accompanied the sisters to the local police station in the northern state of Haryana. Puja’s view: “A woman’s rape starts the moment she withstands the dirty looks of such men. If you hit back hard, then only you can survive.” The incident resonates in light of the gang rape of a young Indian woman on a bus in 2012.

Can They Get More Out Of Touch?

There is a true scandal in DC……NO it is not Benghazi or IRS or AP….it is the sexual assault being batted around in the hearings process in Washington…….I was not going to post much on this situation because there are more qualified spokespeople to handle the rebuttals and such……but like so many other issues I cannot remain silent while shitheads flap their lips…….

As the story is unfolding…..some 6000+ American troops have been sexually assaulted and the military turns a blind eye……HELL!  even some of the people that work to control and investigate sexual attacks have been charged with the same offense they were there to investigate…….I wish I could say that I am surprised but that would be a hardy chuckle……the military leaders are masters at covering their asses in time of trouble…….and this is NO different….

But the most incredulous things during the hearings are statements made by our cracker jack clowns that govern……

First let us hear from Georgia’s Saxby Chambliss……

“The young folks who are coming into each of your services are anywhere from 17 to 22 or 23. Gee whiz, the hormone level created by nature sets in place the possibility for these types of things to occur. So we’ve got to be very careful how we address it on our side,” Chambliss told top military officials at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing. “But guys, we are not doing our job. You’re not doing yours, and we are not doing ours with the rates we are seeing on sexual assaults.”

Next is another Southern asshat…….

During his questioning, however, Sessions brought up his concern that access to pornography on and around military bases was creating “problems” among the soldiers, sailors, and pilots:

SESSIONS: Mr. Chairman, I’d just add a letter, a document here that was given to me from Morality in the Media. Pat Truman used to be in the Department of Justice. I knew him when he was there. He points out that, a picture here of a newsstand and an Air Force base exchange with, you know, sexually explicit magazines being sold. So, we live in a culture that’s awash in sexual activity. If it’s not sold on base, it’s right off base. There are videos and so forth that can be obtained, and it creates some problems, I think.

Typical GOP tactic blame everything but the person doing the crime………

I am sure that these are not the last of bonehead pronouncements made by the GOP……the more they talk…the more they show their ignorance…….and the more they show their ignorance the fewer people will listen……the fewer that will listen will not vote for a party so out of touch………Maybe they should shrink wrap their tent before even more leave it behind………Good news to my ears!

So You Want A Scandal?

I guess I will jump on the scandal du jour bandwagon….at least for a couple of days….there are “real” scandals that we need to talk about and few have anything to do with the crap being made up these days….

These days of scandals is NOTHING but theatrics….Benghazi is NOT a scandal…..IRS is not a scandal…the same thing was done by Nixon in the 70’s against anything related to the “radical Left”….if it was wring now it was wrong then but it was not as big a deal……the AP story could be a kick in the ass but I do not think it was a scandal……

But there are issues that should be more reported and then they would be scandals….I blame the media for ignoring, for the most part, stories that shed a bad light on a sector of our government…..I realize the military is scared in some circles and for that reason this will be a short lived issue….the GOP and others will find yet another issue to turn into a “scandal”…….but until then I want to stress the issue that is being largely ignored so that overpaid news anchors can ask stupid question like when did the prez know and why is why looking so uninformed?

The sad thing is this situation is under reported……

(Newser) – An AP report reveals the stunning scope of the sexual assault crisis rocking the military: Last year, more than 85,000 veterans received treatment for sex abuse, while 4,000 applied for disability benefits; 40% of those treated were men. The cases run as far back as the Vietnam War, with the most common long-term effects being post-traumatic stress disorder and depression, the AP notes based on Department of Veterans Affairs data. The VA says one in five women and one in 100 men screen positive for “military sexual trauma,” defined by the VA as “any sexual activity where you are involved against your will,” ranging from sexual harassment to rape.

When it comes to getting treatment, “a veteran can simply walk through the door, say they’ve had this experience, and we will get them hooked up with care. There’s no documentation required,” says a member of the military sexual trauma team. But those seeking disability compensation face hurdles: Vets must be diagnosed with PTSD or a similar problem, submit proof of the assault or harassment, and have a VA examiner confirm a link to their health condition. “Ninety percent of 26,000 cases last year weren’t even reported,” says an activist. “So where is that evidence supposed to come from?” Records show about half of vets seeking such compensation last year had their claim approved.

Typical American politics….if we ignore it long enough maybe it will go away…..this should NEVER go away!

GOD Made Me Do It!

During the week I spend most of my time reading, writing and researching the various interests of mine, politics, economic and the Middle East, and to some it is all so much boring crap….but to me it gives my higher brain a chance to expand and educate…..and then there are the weekends…..this is the time I give my brain a rest and venture into the lesser intellectual world…and this week I sink into the lowest level of intellectual pursuit….SEX!

we have all been appalled with all the pedophilia associated with the Catholic Church…..condemnation from all parts of the world….but you see that the Catholic Church is not alone with sexual predators….

A leading evangelical Christian pastor has been arrested in a Rio suburb for the alleged rape of six women, including three minors, police said.

Marcos Pereira, who has been head of Brazil’s Assembly of God of the Latter Days church for the past 20 years, was detained late on Tuesday.

“He is accused of raping six women, including three under the age of 18,” police inspector Marcio Mendonca Dugubras on Wednesday.

The pastor, who made headlines by practicing collective exorcisms of drug addicts and prisoners whom he later converted in Rio jails in the 1990s, was jailed in a maximum security penitentiary in northern Rio.

Dugubras said that Pereira would tell his victims that they were possessed by the devil and therefore needed to have sex with a “holy” person.

The victims, all of them poor, consented, thinking that by doing so they “were ridding themselves” of their sins, Dugubras told reporters.

Police had been investigating the pastor for a year and said he might have raped 20 other women since 1998.

One of the victims, a member of Pereira’s church, was said to have been sexually abused from the age of 14 to 22.

Police said the pastor was also being probed for alleged involvement in drug trafficking, money laundering and homicide.

I am aways amazed at the lengths these types of ‘religious’ people will go to….in the name of God.
