Convention Of States

I read this yesterday and thought that it needed to be read more widely…..a loyal friend of IST, Calico Jack, has hit the nail on the head with this post.

Project 2025 and the GOP are working hand in hand to throw out the existing Constitution and rewrote it to favor their archaic ideas.

Project 2025–What Has It Done So Far?

We start a new year, a year where a person put a radical political agenda into force, Project 2025…..but in that year how has the plan made out?

In the months leading up to his election, President Donald Trump insisted that he had nothing to do with the far-right vision for his second administration known as Project 2025, a Christian-nationalist blueprint to remake the federal government. As the year draws to a close, a crowd-sourced effort, as well as trackers from advocacy organizations and labor unions, show that his administration has implemented roughly half of the goals laid out in the document’s 920 pages.

Project 2025 is rooted in injecting narrower interpretations of gender, sexuality and race in federal policy. It calls for ending nearly all of the U.S. government’s efforts to achieve equity, including the collection of data that could be used to track such outcomes across the public and private sectors.

It suggested eliminating diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs. It also recommended removing out of every rule and regulation terms like sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender equity and gender awareness, along with abortion, reproductive health and reproductive rights.

The blueprint also suggested transforming the FBI into a politically motivated entity, abolishing the Department of Education and dismantling the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA).

The White House has made progress on all these fronts — through a series of executive orders and also politically motivated hirings, firings and restructurings that have fundamentally expanded the president’s influence and power across all branches of government.

There is a saying in Washington, D.C., that personnel is policy: the people put in charge of implementing key policies shape their ideologies. Russell Vought, one of Project 2025’s key architects, heads Trump’s Office of Management and Budget, which he has likened to the “nerve center” through which a president can exert their influence across the federal government. Peter Navarro, who wrote Project 2025’s section on trade, is a top trade adviser to Trump. Brendan Carr, who wrote a section suggesting reforms to the Federal Communications Commission, is now in charge of the agency.

Here are some specifics on parts of Project 2025 that have been implemented and how they could impact women and LGBTQ+ Americans:

How much of Project 2025 has actually been accomplished this year?

I would say for someone who did not know what the plan entailed has done a damn good job of destroying everything the Heritage Foundation wanted destroyed.

Keep in mind Donny is not through yet….more attempts to come I am sure.

How’s The ‘Master Plan’ Doing?

The ‘master plan’ of which I speak is that playbook from the Heritage Foundation, Project 2025, if you remember Donny did not know anything about this during the campaign (I blatant lie).

So far the plans in this 900 page memo is being put into place piece by piece….but how is it working out so far?

The former head of Project 2025 believes an “unchained” President Donald Trump has made immense progress during the first 100 days of his second term toward undoing liberal gains dating back to Franklin D. Roosevelt.

But Paul Dans — who led the effort to produce a detailed conservative transition plan and policy blueprint that was at the center of last year’s presidential election — believes the president needs an influx of new attorneys to fight for his policies in court. Those battles, Dans told NBC News, will shape the next 100 days.

“If Roosevelt had the New Deal, this is what I would think of as Trump’s real deal,” Dans said. “This is deconstructing the administrative state and walking back a lot of this progressive architecture that had been built up by FDR.”

“What’s coming next is really a squaring off with the courts,” Dans said, adding, “This is going to reach, certainly, a boiling point, and so look to that getting resolved.”

The blueprint ultimately foreshadowed plenty of what Trump has enacted or attempted once in power. An independent tracker found that the administration has completed or taken action on roughly 40% of the material in Project 2025’s blueprint. That includes everything from cutting research grants to universities to readying cuts for climate research, stripping some immigrants of Temporary Protected Status, and an all-out assault on diversity programs in government.

With that in the foreground as Trump hits the 100-day mark, Dans spoke with NBC News in a pair of interviews in recent days. He doesn’t believe measuring Trump’s actions against Project 2025’s plan “is really accurate,” adding, “these are, to be sure, President Trump’s own policies, many of which were embodied in Project 2025.”

“It’s with great excitement that I read what’s going on every day and see a new step that they’re taking,” Dans said. “But to be sure, this has to get implemented. At this point, a lot of the executive orders and the like are policy pronouncements, and the real rubber is going to meet the road when it comes to implementing all these directives.”

So far so good and plenty more to come.

This country, if ever, may not rebound from the damage these people are doing to its foundation.

All I can say at this point is….you were warned and you did not seem to care….so any damage this ‘plan’ is doing to you and your family then you brought it on yourself….I hope you are happy.

What About Project 2025?

With all the chaos around Donny’s tariff stuff the implementation of Project 2025 has gone under-reported, an agenda that Donny disavowed during his campaign saying he had no idea what it was or what it was about, but so far under his leadership parts of it are being put into place just the way the Heritage Foundation wanted.

But what do we have so far?

As Trump begins his second term, his administration is rolling out Project 2025 — a detailed playbook aimed at reshaping the federal government, U.S. policy, and global posture. Developed as a sweeping roadmap during his first term’s aftermath, Project 2025 is now the blueprint driving his administration. Every agency, from Homeland Security to the EPA, is involved. The strategy? Systematically undo Biden-era policies, reduce regulatory oversight, centralize executive power, and instill a more conservative agenda across federal operations.

Here’s where things stand so far:

The Trump administration has wasted no time. By early 2025, dozens of Project 2025 objectives were marked “completed,” fundamentally shifting U.S. policy in critical areas:

Civil Rights and DEI Rollbacks

  • Eliminated the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the Treasury.

  • Revoked Biden’s Gender Policy Council.

  • Abolished DEI offices across federal agencies including the Pentagon and EPA.

Trump’s Project 2025 Is Already Changing America — See What’s Done, What’s Next, and What Could Be Coming

There is one part of this authoritarian plan that is not fairing so well….

If it’s not enough that Elon Musk’s DOGE has been taking a chainsaw to the federal labor force, about three weeks ago, the Trump administration announced that it is going to begin implementing “Schedule F,” the creepy huxleyan name for the Executive Order they produced at the end of the first term to make it easier to fire civil service employees deemed disloyal. President Biden threw it in the trash, but, as expected, it’s back. After all, it’s part of Project 2025 architect Russell Vought‘s tools of the trade, and now that he’s back at the Office of Management and Budget he’s been itching to use it.

It’s estimated that 50,000 people will be subject to the law once they are re-classified from civil service protections to “at will” policy employees. It’s pretty obvious that a witch hunt for personnel that any rando MAGA appointee suspects of being a turncoat (or just a Democrat) will soon be fired. The whole idea was to fill the jobs with the kind of people Russell Vought thinks have America’s best interests at heart. That means white, Christian nationalists.

Sadly that seems to be about the only part that is not popular with the supporters….seriously….the only part?

You there still part of the public that like what this plan is doing to this country and the rights of its citizens.

This plan needs a plan to stop this erosion of rights.

Time to become a ‘citizen activist’….get the Hell involved…..NOW!

Tracking Project 2025

In case anyone missed the facts.

Project 2025 was a conservative plan/playbook for the changing of our democracy written by the Heritage Foundation….during the campaign His Lord High Master of the Universe disavowed knowledge of the document and yet once elected he set off doing many of the changes that Heritage wants to see….in other words changing what our democracy in many scary ways.

While researching I found a site that tracks just how the GOP is following the plan almost to a tee.

A website that tracks Project 2025 and GOP implementation of the initiative thus far has popped up online and quite frankly, it’s brilliant.

The site was created by Reddit users Rusticgorilla and Mollynaquafina, who started the tracker to make Project 2025’s rollout way more transparent.

Project 2025 was one of the most talked about topics during the 2024 presidential election, but voters overall ignored the warning signs of its potential impact on America.

The 900+ page Republican agenda aims to fundamentally change how government works.

As previously reported by NewsOne, The conservative manifesto, titled Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise, was created by the GOP think tank group, the Heritage Foundation. Filled with confusing and vague language, Project 2025 calls for eliminating the Department of Education, looks to abolish the ideals of affirmative action, wants to eliminate access to abortion rights and calls for eliminating social welfare programs. The agenda also pledges to erode civil protections for the LGBTQIA+ community, criminalize homelessness, eradicate “wokeness,” end immigration and make it easier to fire federal employees who aren’t Republicans.

Sadly, a lot of Project 2025’s agenda has already been implemented within Trump’s slew of executive orders, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be paying attention.

That’s where the Project 2025 tracker comes into play. The website allows you to select different agencies and subjects while allowing you to see the statuses of each subject and what agencies they will affect. The tracker also has an overall progress bar so you can see how much of Project 2025 has already been implemented and how much is left. Progress by agency is also tracked with a dropdown to see every agency, plus the objectives affecting each agency.

This Site Tracks Everything Project 2025

Most of the Magats are ignoring the fact that their new master is screwing them.  Is hate that instilled into some Americans that they will look the other way and screw themselves just to hit back at what they perceive as ‘woke”?

Please bookmark the website and please if you have a blog or other social media accounts pass on as often as you can just how dangerous this ‘plan’ is to us poor peasants.

Don’t Worry About Project 2025

The flurry of executive orders signed by Trump in his first hours in the hot seat have come directly from 2025….

Trump claimed he had “nothing to do with Project 2025.”Yet, 16 of the 26 executive orders Trump issued on Day One were cribbed directly from the pages of Project 2025. Here’s a summary of what they do…

Jeffery St. Clair has compiled a list of these EOs….(thank you for saving me the time)….

+  An Executive Order rescinding 78 executive orders issued by President Biden.

+ Prohibits federal agencies from engaging in censorship, and orders an investigation into any federal censorship from the past 4 years.

+ Directs the Attorney General to review and remediate any “weaponization” of the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, and Federal Trade Commission over the past 4 years. The National Intelligence Director is directed to do the same for the intelligence community.

+ Orders all federal departments and executive agencies to terminate remote work arrangements and require full-time in-person work.

+ Places a freeze on all federal regulations that are proposed but not yet published in the Federal Register, and postpones for 60 days any that have been published but not yet taken effect.

+ Places a freeze on hiring federal civilian employees and contracting, excepting immigration enforcement, national security, or public safety.

+ Directs all agencies to act to reduce the cost of living, including by expanding the housing supply, reducing unnecessary expenses and requirements that raise costs, and eliminating climate policies that increase the cost of food and fuel.

+ Orders the withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement.

+ Commutes the sentences of 14 people convicted of offenses related to January 6 and otherwise pardons all 1,500 other individuals convicted of crimes related to January 6. Dismisses all pending indictments.

+ Directs the Attorney General not to enforce the TikTok law for 75 days.

+ Orders the withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO).

+ Recategorizes policy-influencing positions in the federal workforce to Schedule F (giving the executive branch greater ability to hire, fire, and manage them).

+ Direct implementation of performance standards and evaluations for career senior executive federal employees.

+ Revokes clearances from 50 former intelligence officials who signed a letter in 2020 discrediting the Hunter Biden laptop story.

+ Declares an emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border and directs National Guard deployment, construction of additional barriers, and use of aerial systems to impede unauthorized physical entry by aliens.

+ Orders the Secretary of Defense to direct the military to repel unlawful mass migration, narcotics trafficking, human smuggling and trafficking, and other criminal activities on the U.S.-Mexico border.

+ Suspends entry of refugees into the United States effective January 27, pending a report within 90 days by the Department of Homeland Security on whether to resume them.

+ Directs the federal government not to recognize U.S. citizenship for persons born in the United States but whose parents are not citizens or lawful permanent residents. Effective 30 days from today, for births on or after that date.

+ Directs implementation of a policy of establishing a physical wall at the U.S.-Mexico border, removal of aliens unlawfully present in the United States, and terminating categorical parole programs (Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, Venezuelans).

+ Authorizes temporary top secret security clearances for 6 months for certain staff designated by the White House Counsel.

+ Directs trade investigations to begin.

+ Orders a review of federal regulations to remove regulatory burdens on oil, natural gas, coal, hydropower, biofuel, critical minerals, and nuclear energy. Revokes 12 Biden climate-related executive orders. Pauses federal funds for building electric vehicle infrastructure.

+ Orders a study on diverting water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta to southern California.

+ Directs the Attorney General to seek capital punishment in federal capital crimes, to ensure that the 37 federal death row inmates commuted by Biden are imprisoned in consistent conditions, and supply lethal drugs to states that administer the death penalty.

+ Directs a report within 60 days on federal building standards that reflect classical architectural heritage.

+ Declares a national energy emergency, directing expedited delivery of energy infrastructure.

+ Suspends offshore wind energy projects.

+ Orders a pause on foreign aid disbursements for 90 days to assess programmatic efficiencies and consistency with foreign policy.

And the EOs are only the beginning….

Just wait and see what is next from the Lord High Destroyer…

The quality of life for most Americans will suffer…..but not to worry it will Make America Great Again.

A New “Pax Romana”

Not another Project 2025 post?

Sorry but yes….I do not think too much can be written about one of the scariest documents in American history.

There can never be too much written about this attack on our democracy.

I love what Trump and his gang of minions are doing or should I say are trying to do….kinda reminds one of the Roman Empires “Pax Romana” (Roman Peace)….

Since I have brought it up let’s look at a few things….

Roman poet Juvenal coined the phrase “bread and circuses” nearly 2,000 years ago for the extravagant entertainment the Roman Empire used to distract attention from imperial policies that caused widespread discontent. Imagine the lavish banquets, gladiatorial bouts, use and abuse of young men and women for the pleasure of the rich, and so much more that characterized the later years of that empire. And none of it seems that far off from the situation we, in these increasingly dis-United States, find ourselves in today.

Although the Roman Empire described itself as being in favor of life and peace, the various Caesars and their enablers regularly dealt death and destruction in their wake. They spread the Pax Romana (the Roman Peace), including a taxation system that left the poor in debt servitude, a military that caused terror and violence across the then-known world, and a ruling authority that pitted whole communities against each other, while legislating who could associate with whom (passing marriage laws, for instance, that banned gay, inter-racial, or even cross-class marriages). The emperor in power in Jesus’s time, Caesar Augustus, was known for ushering in a Golden Age of Moral Values that went hand in hand with that Pax Romana, and it meant war and death, especially for the poor.

Fast forward millennia and that world bears a strange resemblance to the media distractions, violence, and regressive policies that MAGA and other extremists are pushing forward in our times. Whether it’s Donald Trump’s assertion that “I alone can fix your problems”; Supreme Court and state legislative attacks on reproductive rightssame-sex marriage, and trans youth in the name of family values; cuts to welfarehealthcareworker’s rights and other life-sustaining programs to protect corporate interests; the militarizing of endless communities by allowing guns (especially AR-15 rifles) to proliferate, while offering only thoughts and prayers to the victims of violence, the MAGA movement is promoting culture wars and extremist policies under the banner of Christian nationalism. In doing so, its leaders are perfecting a disdain for the excluded, exploited, and rejected that hurts the poor first and worst, but impacts all of society.

https://www.counterpunch.org/2024/07/30/project-2025-a-new-pax-romana/

The similarities are there just updated to fit into this society….

If you still have your head in the sand about Project 2025….then maybe this will get the juices flowing…..

The 67-page report published by Media Matters for America lays out in detail Trump’s close ties to Project 2025 and examines specific policy proposals included in the agenda, which—if implemented—would affect every area of American life, from the workplace to the environment to reproductive rights and other fundamental freedoms.

“Project 2025 lays out an extreme far-right agenda that would impose draconian restrictions to the lives of everyday Americans,” Media Matters vice president Julie Millicansaid in a statement. “If enacted, not only would it gut the checks and balances that our country relies on, but it’s a clear threat to our democracy, as our government could be weaponized against us as part of a concerted effort to control how we live our lives.”

“Project 2025’s extremist goals make clear what’s truly at stake,” Millican added.

https://www.commondreams.org/news/media-matters-project-2025

This report will be easier to read than the 900 page document…..why not learn for what you want.

Is Project 2025 what you want for your beloved country?

But if Trump is beaten in November then that should end Project 2025 as well, right?

Dream on, McDuff!

The glimpse of a potential victory for Kamala Harris in the presidential election has cast a false sense of security about the storm brewing around an increasingly radical Republican party. It is naïve to think that Trump’s loss would magically erase the Republican underbelly that is planning for a complete restructuration and reduction of government responsibility and civil freedom. Whatever happens, the proponents of a new radical Republican government are clearly in it for the long run, and they have made their aggressive intentions clear regardless of the election outcome. Even though it started two years ago, Project 2025 – the unpleasant offspring of the Heritage Foundation think-tank – has only recently made greater news following the hopeless outlook of Biden’s desperate presidential campaign.

Blueprints For Authoritarianism

I know there is a bunch of stuff written these days about Project 2025 and for that I am glad for there is not enough time for the whole picture to come into focus without these attempts.

There are plans within plans going on in this country and we need to be vigilant or things could drastically change for all of us.

In history there have been blueprints to bring about the ‘king figure’….Mein Kampf comes to mind and now Project 2025….

I am not arguing that “Project 2025” is directly comparable to Adolf Hitler’s autobiographical manifesto “Mein Kampf,” but there are some similarities in their political ideology and their political plans for the United States and Germany, respectively. Both documents are “blueprints for authoritarianism.” As the saying goes, often you need to be forewarned in order to be forearmed.

The antisemitic ravings of “Mein Kampf” are quite different from the unconscionable anti-immigrant markers in “Project 2025.” However, the language of the documents as well as the language of Donald Trump reveal a contempt for groups of individuals that is evil and ugly. Hitler wrote about the “Jewish peril,” which isn’t far removed from Trump’s racism going back to the “American Carnage” speech of 2017 as well as the Project’s call for mass deportations.Trump’s language has only worsened over the years, and we never should forget his Muslim ban and the reference to “shithole” countries in his first year in the White House.

The important role of Stephen Miller on behalf of Trump and the Project is stunning; Miller is Jewish but he would have made a good Gauleiter for any Fascist party. Miller has been working for years to get a nationwide crackdown on immigration. He has vowed to increase deportations by a factor of ten, to a million people a year, according to recent articles in the New York Times and the New Yorker. Project 2025 calls for “stringent reinforcement” of immigration and deportation measures, including “ramped-up workplace inspections,” and penalties for employers hiring undocumented workers.

The United States was alerted nearly a decade ago to Steve Bannon’s Leninist “destruction of the administrative state,” and Project 2025 moves in this direction, calling for partisan control of the Department of Justice and the FBI. The Project wants increased military participation in domestic law enforcement, stressing the use of the Insurrection Act of 1807 to put down revolt or even civil unrest in the United States. Even peaceful protests could be targeted. The Germans had nearly one decade of warning regarding Hitler’s interest in destroying the parliamentary system, but never took his views seriously. We seem to be following the German pattern. Are we Germany 1933?

https://www.counterpunch.org/2024/08/01/blueprints-for-authoritarianism-mein-kampf-and-project-2025/

This “Plan’ came from the Heritage Foundation….the same place that one of their people stated that Stalin had a good idea…..

The far-right Heritage Foundation — which is the chief group pushing the authoritarian Project 2025 initiative — once heaped praise on Russian dictator Joseph Stalin for his socially conservative policies.

On the social media platform Bluesky, journalist Faine Greenwood posted snippets from a 2022 post on Heritage’s website by researcher Emma Waters. In the article, Waters — whose bio notes that she works at Heritage’s “Richard and Helen DeVos Center for Life, Religion and Family” — made the argument that the totalitarian Russian leader was pro-family despite his regime killing millions of people.

“Joseph Stalin had an utter disregard for human life, and his regime claimed the lives of 9,000,000-20,000,000 of its own subjects. Yet even Stalin understood that society depended on strong, intact families,” Waters wrote.

https://www.alternet.org/project-2025-divorce/

Is that really someone you want to look up to at any time?

You should read this especially!

Did you know that there is a ‘secret’ part of 2025?

However, there is even more to Project 2025 than the public is aware of.

The lawmakers pointed out that while the people behind the blueprint promised to be transparent, this apparently does not apply to one section of the plan.

“[T]he entire ‘Fourth Pillar,’ the ‘180-Day Playbook’ which you describe as a roadmap of comprehensive, concrete, early actions for each federal agency, remains shrouded in secrecy,” they write, and they called on the Heritage Foundation to disclose these parts of the document.

“You have conspicuously declined to publish or disclose any of the prioritized early actions that we believe would obviously be the most important parts of Project 2025,” they write.

This includes the executive orders, presidential directives, and other actions that would drastically remake the federal government and the US as a whole.

House Dems to Heritage Foundation: Show Us the Secret Part of Project 2025

Then there are those ‘training’ videos….

Project 2025, the controversial playbook and policy agenda for a right-wing presidential administration, has lost its director and faced scathing criticism from both Democratic groups and former President Donald Trump. But Project 2025’s plan to train an army of political appointees who could battle against the so-called deep state government bureaucracy on behalf of a future Trump administration remains on track.

One centerpiece of that program is dozens of never-before-published videos created for Project 2025’s Presidential Administration Academy. The vast majority of these videos — 23 in all, totaling more than 14 hours of content — were provided to ProPublica and Documented by a person who had access to them.

The Project 2025 videos coach future appointees on everything from the nuts and bolts of governing to how to outwit bureaucrats. There are strategies for avoiding embarrassing Freedom of Information Act disclosures and ensuring that conservative policies aren’t struck down by “left-wing judges.” Some of the content is routine advice that any incoming political appointee might be told. Other segments of the training offer guidance on radically changing how the federal government works and what it does.

https://www.propublica.org/article/inside-project-2025-secret-training-videos-trump-election

Since everyone pisses and moans about taxes, especially the dullards on the right, then maybe you should focus on what “2025′ would do to you if it becomes the law of the land….

An economic analysis of the far-right Project 2025 agenda crafted by at least 140 former Trump administration officials shows that the plan would result in higher taxes on working-class Americans and “corporate welfare” for the rich and large businesses.

Conducted by the Democrats on the Joint Economic Committee (JEC), the new analysis notes that Project 2025’s sprawling “Mandate for Leadership” would establish a “two-rate individual tax system of 15% and 30% that eliminates most deductions, credits, and exclusions.”

Such a system, according to the JEC, “would force many middle-class families to pay thousands of dollars more in tax payments.”

“Together, these changes to tax rates would mean that a family of four earning $90,000 per year would have paid roughly $2,300 more in taxes last year,” the JEC found. “If the Child Tax Credit was also eliminated, this family would have paid roughly $6,300 more. Meanwhile, millionaires would pay a lower top tax rate.”

The analysis also points to Project 2025’s push for a “national sales tax,” a highly regressive proposal endorsed by dozens of Republican lawmakers in the House of Representatives.

A national sales tax would “force working families to pay more at the grocery store, gas pump, and any other place they buy
goods or services,” JEC said Thursday, noting that past GOP proposals “would have hiked the cost of essentials like groceries and housing—usually exempt from state and local sales taxes—by 30%.”

https://www.commondreams.org/news/project-2025-taxes

Can you see just how bad things would be if we elect a person that would do everything possible to enact these provisions?

If not then this country is in serious terrible.

The more the GOP is hammered with the Project 2025 thing the more Americans learn and the more they dislike the ideas behind the mask….

There’s been some infighting among conservatives lately over a package of sweeping conservative policy proposals known as “Project 2025.” Conservative groups developed the plan as a sort of wish list for if former President Donald Trump gets reelected, and it contains policies widely considered to align with his vision for governance. But the former president’s campaign has disavowed the project and recently went so far as to say its “demise would be greatly welcomed,” while Trump urged his supporters to boo it at a campaign rally.

That’s likely because a growing majority of Americans are hearing about the controversial proposal, and a significant share also disapprove of it and closely associate it with Trump, despite his concerted attempts to distance himself from it.

Dems should just keep punching away with the attacks on ‘2025’….the more we learn the more it is disliked.

Has 2025 Lost Some Luster?

The big deal story of this election has been the word of the Heritage plan to control the country, Project 2025, I have written about it with the hope that people will pull their heads out of their butts and see what is in store if Trump comes to power yet again.

But since few paid attention to my take I shall give you another take on this wildly fascist plan….

In talk about what a second presidential term for Donald Trump might bring, one name has become the shorthand for all the horrifying things that might await: Project 2025.

It’s been called “authoritarian” and “dystopian.” It’s the talk of TikTok. Some Democrats see it as the ace in the hole that could save President Joe Biden’s struggling reelection campaign. But Trump is now claiming, implausibly, to know nothing about it.

So what is it?

Project 2025 is the conservative movement’s detailed and specific plan for what the next Republican president should do with his power, including its preparation to put that plan into action. Basically, it’s an attempt to make the second Trump term way more organized and effective than the first.

Organized by the right-wing think tank the Heritage Foundation and advised by more than 100 conservative groups, Project 2025 has put forth a 922-page list of policy recommendations, going agency by agency in the federal government.

It is not a pie-in-the-sky policy agenda full of bold but empty promises. It is crafted to be a list of things the next president’s appointees really can do, put together by many people who served in top posts under Trump last time and could well do so again. (Project 2025 is also collecting a database of names of conservatives who could take jobs in Trump’s second term.)

A new survey shows that the public is slowly seeing that the plan is not what this country needs….

New polling out on Tuesday suggests that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s best hope for Project 2025, the far-right policy agenda that at least 140 of his former administration officials helped craft, was that most Americans would remain unfamiliar with it.

Over the past month, though, a growing number of voters have learned more about the 900-page plan spearheaded by the right-wing Heritage Foundation — and public opinion of the agenda has plummeted as it’s become more widely known.

Progressive polling firm Navigator Research found in a survey conducted between July 11-14 that 54% of Americans were familiar with Project 2025, which calls for the weakening and eradication of federal agencies and the consolidation of power with the president, the elimination of job protections of thousands of federal employees, and the withdrawal of mifepristone — a pill used in a majority of abortions in the U.S. — from the market.

That’s an increase of 25 percentage points from Navigator’s poll on Project 2025 just one month ago, said the firm.

Just 11% of people polled viewed the agenda favorably, while 43% had unfavorable views — a 24-point increase since June.

I just hope that as it becomes more and more known the public will turn completely against this ‘plan’ that flies into the face everything this country stands for…..and I hope….

It looks like Project 2025 has lost a leader….

The director of the Heritage Foundation’s controversial Project 2025 has stepped down following strong criticism from Donald Trump’s campaign. Paul Dans, one of many former Trump administration officials involved in the project, played a leading role in drafting the 920-page blueprint for a potential second Trump term. Kevin Robert, president of the conservative think tank, said they are “sticking to the timeline” of concluding policy drafting after the party conventions, the Hill reports. “We are extremely grateful for his and everyone’s work on Project 2025 and dedication to saving America,” he said of Dans.

“Our collective efforts to build a personnel apparatus for policymakers of all levels—federal, state, and local—will continue,” Roberts said. The project, which proposes, among other things, boosting the power of the executive branch and replacing civil servants with conservative political appointees, has been repeatedly disavowed by Trump, reports the AP. At a rally earlier this month, he said it came from the “severe right” and some of its proposals are “seriously extreme.”

  • In a statement, Trump campaign managers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said the campaign “has been very clear for over a year that Project 2025 had nothing to do with the campaign, did not speak for the campaign, and should not be associated with the campaign or the President in any way.”
  • They added: “Reports of Project 2025’s demise would be greatly welcomed and should serve as notice to anyone or any group trying to misrepresent their influence with President Trump and his campaign—it will not end well for you.”
  • The AP reports that Trump campaign reps did not respond to requests for comment on whether the Trump team pushed for Dans to step down.
  • Vice President Kamala Harris has made attacking Project 2025 a key part of her campaign and she is expected to continue doing so despite Dans’ exit, CNN reports. “Project 2025 is on the ballot because Donald Trump is on the ballot,” campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said. “This is his agenda, written by his allies, for Donald Trump to inflict on our country. Hiding the 920-page blueprint from the American people doesn’t make it less real—in fact, it should make voters more concerned about what else Trump and his allies are hiding.”
  • The Guardian goes into more detail on the project, noting that beyond the policy document, it has created a database of potential personnel for a second Trump administration and proposals to train them in a “Presidential Administration Academy.” Some of the policy document’s more controversial proposals include banning pornography and reversing federal approval of the abortion pill.

Apparently the luster is tarnished and has to go….but how far will it go?
