Changes Needed!

73 million people watched the first 2020 presidential debate.  (Did anyone learn anything new?)

For all those that have not heard the first presidential debate was a shout fest and a complete disaster.

Even FOX’s anchor Wallace has seen the disaster of the evening…..

It’s “soul-searching” time for Chris Wallace. The Fox News Sunday anchor admits he struggled to moderate last night’s presidential debate—a contentious affair that one pundit called “two old men shouting at each other”—but he isn’t apologizing or taking all the blame. “I’ve read some of the reviews. I know people think, well, gee, I didn’t jump in soon enough,” Wallace tells the New York Times in a voice still hoarse from the debate. “I guess I didn’t realize—and there was no way you could, hindsight being 20/20—that this was going to be the president’s strategy, not just for the beginning of the debate but the entire debate.” For more:

  • “I thought this was great—this is a debate!” Wallace says of the moment when President Trump first spoke straight to Joe Biden. But as Trump kept interrupting, Wallace got worried. Then came “desperation.” He says he “never dreamt that it would go off the tracks the way it did.”
  • “You’re reluctant—as somebody who has said from the very beginning that I wanted to be as invisible as possible, and to enable them to talk—to rise to the point at which you begin to interject more and more. First to say, ‘Please don’t interrupt,’ then ‘Please obey the rules,’ and third, ‘This isn’t serving the country well.'”
  • Should the president’s microphone be cut off he interrupts next time? “People have to remember, and too many people forget, both of these candidates have the support of tens of millions of Americans.”
  • “Generally speaking, I did as well as I could, so I don’t have any second thoughts there. I’m just disappointed with the results.”
  • “To quote the president, ‘It is what it is.'”

The entire paid punditry told whoever would listen that changes should be made to the format and mechanisms of the debate process……and the debate officials were shamed into making the changes that the pundits want……

After the chaos in Cleveland Tuesday night, some Democrats have been calling for Joe Biden to skip the next two debates with President Trump, who ignored moderator Chris Wallace’s pleas to stick to the agreed-upon rules and stop interrupting his opponent. But Biden’s campaign says he’s definitely going to show up in Miami and Nashville—and the Commission on Presidential Debates says there will be some changes. In a statement Wednesday, the CPD said the Tuesday debate made it clear that “additional structure” should be added to the remaining debate to “ensure a more orderly discussion.” The commission thanked Wallace for the “professionalism and skill” he brought to the debate.

The debate commission said it is “carefully considering” the changes and will announce them soon. Kate Bedingfield, Biden’s deputy campaign manager, said Tuesday night that Biden will definitely be at the Oct. 15 debate in Miami, the Tampa Bay Times reports. In that debate, the candidates will take questions from voters, and Bedingfield said it will be up to Trump whether he wants to repeat his “unhinged meltdown.” Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh slammed the nonpartisan commission, saying it was only looking at changes “because their guy got pummeled last night.” He accused Biden of “trying to work the refs,” adding: “They shouldn’t be moving the goalposts and changing the rules in the middle of the game.”

Seriously?  Do these self-absorbed d/bags really think that Trump will follow the rules?  He did not in the first debate why would he play nice in the second and third?

It always amazes me just how naive these political pros can be.

My thought on the popular idea of a kill switch will play into the hands of Trump and his minions…..they can use it to prove that the news is corrupt and out to get Donald the Orange.  I agree with whoever said that the remaining debates should be canceled because nothing more can be learned….the viewer has seen all they need to know about Trump and his “style”…..

No one will listen to this lonely blogger and the change will be made and the news cycle will have their few days of story lines to keep them in beans.

I close with Weird Al’s look at the debate….

2020 Presidential Debate #1

Last night the long awaited 1st presidential debate was given to the country……and it is now in the can as they say in showbiz…..

This debate was as I thought a war of interruptions and antics…..and political silliness.

The actors in this passion play are President Trump and Joe Biden……and the scenes went something like this…..Trump spend most of his time insulting someone……

With just 35 days until the election, President Trump and Joe Biden took the stage in Cleveland for their first face-off but declined to shake hands due to the coronavirus—one of six topics moderator Chris Wallace of Fox News plans to question the candidates about tonight. The others: the candidates’ records, the Supreme Court, the economy, race and violence in our cities, and the integrity of the election. Up first was SCOTUS, but within minutes the debate had taken on a life of its own, with Trump sparring with Wallace and Trump, Biden, and Wallace talking over each other in a heated and insult-studded early exchange on health care.

  • Wallace began by asking why each candidate’s opinion on the timing of filling Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat is correct. Trump expressed that “we won the election. Elections have consequences.” Biden responded that “we should wait and see what the outcome of the election is, because that’s the only way the people can express their view.” Trump’s retort: “I’m not elected for three years, I’m elected for four years.”
  • Biden brought up Amy Coney Barrett’s past writings on the Affordable Care Act, which opened the door on a discussion of pre-existing conditions. When Wallace pushed Trump about what his healthcare plan is, Trump said, “I guess I’m debating you, not him. But that’s OK, I’m not surprised.”
  • Trump then went after Biden on the topic, saying that what he has said about health care would turn off progressives. Biden called him a “liar” and a “clown.” After another interruption, Biden said, “Will you shut up, man?”
  • Up next: COVID. Trump vowed a vaccine would be ready “soon” and said he was speaking “sarcastically” when Biden brought up Trump’s previous comments about Americans consuming bleach. When asked about masks, Trump said “I think masks are OK. I put a mask on when I think I need it.” He then mocked Biden for wearing one all the time. Biden then expressed that experts have said 100,000 lives could be saved by January if mask wearing and social distancing recommendations are adhered to. Trump responded that many health experts have said “the opposite” on the subject of masks. Biden: “No serious person has said the opposite.”
  • Wallace asked Trump directly if reports he paid just $750 a year in federal income tax was true. After pushing him to directly answer the question on how much he paid in 2016 and 2017, Trump said, “Millions of dollars. Like every other private person, unless they’re stupid, they go through the laws and that’s what it is.” Biden kept pushing Trump to releasing his tax returns, finally saying, “You are the worst president America has ever had.”
  • Trump went after Biden’s son Hunter, asking after his business dealings in Ukraine. It was an expected topic, and Biden had a response ready: “This is not about my family or his family, this is about your family—the American people. He doesn’t want to talk about what you need.”
  • Things devolved to the point that when Wallace began the segment on race, he told Trump he was going to ask about race but Trump could use his two minutes to say whatever he wanted. Trump quickly referenced the 1994 crime bill Biden helped pass, accusing Biden of treating the Black community “about as bad as anybody in this country.” Said Trump, “You called them superpredators and you’ve called them worse than that.”
  • On the subject of law and order, Trump called out Democratic-led cities like New York and Chicago and said Biden would destroy the suburbs. “He wouldn’t recognize a suburb unless he took a wrong turn,” quipped Biden.
  • Wallace asks Biden about “reimagining policing,” which is stated in the Biden-Sanders document, and whether he backs Black Lives Matter’s call for community control of policing. Biden said he is not in favor of defunding the police. Trump said Biden “has no law enforcement support” and pushes him to name a law enforcement group that is backing him; Biden doesn’t answer.
  • Wallace then asked the candidates, “Why should voters elect you president?” Trump was up first: “Because there has never been an administration or president that has done more than I’ve done in a period of three and a half years,” even with “the impeachment hoax.” From Biden: “Under this president we’ve become weaker, sicker, poor, more divided, and more violent.”
  • On the topic of climate change, Trump said, “I believe that we have to do everything we can to have immaculate air, immaculate water.” When asked about greenhouse gas emissions as a contributor he said yes, they’re a factor. But he said we need better forest management, citing the fires in California. “That’s burning down because of a lack of management.”
  • The last topic was about mail-in ballots and the integrity of the election. “We might not know who wins for months,” said Trump. “He’s just afraid of counting the votes,” said Biden at one point. As for the ballots, Trump said solicited ballots are just fine but that unsolicited ones sent automatically to voters aren’t, and said there are examples of fraud already. “This is going to be a fraud like you’ve never seen,” he said.

This debate was the worst and best thing I watched all day.  He sounded like a 4 year old and a total amateur….and this person wants 4 more years…..sadly I think Nero would have been a better candidate.

I have a few words from those that analyzed the debate…..

  • RedState: “This is a hard one, folks. Time and again, this debate proved to me that this is a terrifying time to be alive,” writes senior editor Joe Cunningham. “Two old men shouting at each other while a third old man tries to get them to stop shouting at each other? Watching this debate was a type of self-destructive behavior that I’ll be recovering from for a while, I think.” He declares Trump the winner, “but barely.” Full piece here.
  • Vox: A number of writers at the site list three winners (none of them Trump or Biden) and four losers of the night. One of the winners? China. “No government can feasibly end American global hegemony—except for the American one,” argues Zack Beauchamp. “Nobody benefits more from this kind of internal discord in the world’s most powerful state than China.” Full piece here.
  • Washington Post: Aaron Blake is one of many naming Wallace a clear loser of the night. “What struck me most was Wallace’s attempts to almost placate Trump,” Blake writes. “‘Mr. President you’re going to be very happy, because we’re going to talk about law and order,’ Wallace said at one point while trying to move past Trump talking over Biden. ‘Let me ask—sir, you’ll be happy, I’m about to pick up on one of your points to ask the vice president,’ Wallace said at another point.” Full piece, which is one of multiple to use the word “unwatchable,” here.
  • More from the right: Hot Air’s livestream combines tweets from a number of Townhall Media editors; see it here. A number of the tweets slam Wallace, most seem happy with Trump’s performance, and at least one points out that Biden refused to answer a question about Democrats potentially packing the Supreme Court.
  • Axios: Mike Allen, who calls the debate “a hot mess,” was apparently so disheartened by the whole thing the site’s own format sort of fell apart. In the “Why it matters” section after one point, Allen writes simply, “Honestly, who the hell knows?” Full piece here.
  • Politico: David Siders says the “mayhem” of the night didn’t throw Biden off, and writes that if the talking points around the election itself are any indication, the aftermath is going to be “war.” The president said at one point that he is “counting on” the Supreme Court to “look at the ballots.” Full piece here.
  • Wall Street Journal: Rebecca Ballhaus writes that amid the “messy” debate, Biden “gave a more forceful performance than the low expectations set for him by the president and his allies.” That said, Trump did appear to “rattle” him several times. Full piece here.
  • Fact checking: ABC News fact-checks the debate, and finds multiple falsehoods. Full piece here. CNN’s version is here. The Federalist has a piece about Biden making a false claim about Dr. Fauci; see that here.

All in all the night did one thing…..let people know that Joe Biden is by far a better candidate….it was the most nonsensical evening I have ever spent.

Debate #2 will be 15 October 2020 and I will be watching (if my stomach can hold up)…..but my thought is that we do not need another debate for we have seen and heard everything we need to know about the people running…..

Tonight’s The Night

Closing Thought–29Sep20

For those political junkies that have been waiting with bated breath……..Tonight at 9 pm Eastern the first debate between Trump and challenger Biden will be held…

The big day is here for President Trump and Joe Biden—the first of three presidential debates takes place in Cleveland. The debate is scheduled to run from 9 to 10:30pm ET, and it will be carried on all the major networks and streamed online at multiple places, including C-SPAN. If a poll out of Monmouth University is correct, the event could have heavy viewership—74% of registered voters say they plan to tune in. However, only 3% think it’s very likely they’ll hear anything to change their minds about their vote, notes the Washington Post.

Most voters (63%) say they’d like the debate moderator—in this case, Chris Wallace of Fox News—to fact-check the candidates on the fly, but don’t hold your breath. An exec with the Presidential Debate Commission told CNN over the weekend that the commission is not asking its moderators to assume that role, notes Forbes. “The minute the TV is off, there are going to be plenty of fact-checkers at every newspaper and every television station in the world,” said Frank Fahrenkopf Jr. “That’s not the main role of our moderators.”

I will be listening and watching and will give my take Tuesday here on IST…

Those Presidential Debates

Closing Thought–17Dec19

These are kinda like the mainstay of campaign since god knows when….I am not talking about the beauty contest of candidates taking swipes at each other trying to get the headlines the next day…I am talking about the nominees going head to head in front of the American people.

Nixon lost his support in 1960 when he was shown sweating while debating JFK…and it has been a major campaign stop every since……well maybe not so much in 2020….

Seems on Friday, 13Dec19, that Trump may not keep with the tradition of history…he may not debate his Dem opponent…

Wondering how the general election debates between President Trump and the Democratic nominee will go down? We may never find out. Two sources said to be familiar with Trump’s discussions on the matter tells the New York Times the president is mulling not showing up for any such showdowns—not because he’s intimidated by any of the current roster of contenders, but because he doesn’t trust the nonprofit Commission on Presidential Debates, which sponsors the events, and because he’s wary of who the chosen moderators will be. Newsweek notes Trump’s debate history has been “checkered, at best,” though in a tweet from this July he bragged he’d won “EVERY debate,” in both the primaries and in the three he had with Hillary Clinton.

The magazine notes polls showed Clinton as the winner of those three, though Trump was correct in suspecting he’d had a technical issue with his microphone in one of those debates (there’d been a volume problem). As for his skepticism on moderators, Business Insider recalls a spar Trump had with moderator Megyn Kelly in a GOP primary debate in August 2015, in which Kelly asked him about his past disparaging remarks on women; that spat reportedly led him to boycott a January 2016 debate on Fox. Not everyone’s so sure Trump won’t show the next time around, though. “Not doing any would not be strategically smart,” Clinton adviser Philippe Reines tells the Times. Daily Beast writer Molly Jong-Fast thinks Trump won’t be able to resist. “I have a feeling that when confronted with the chance for attention the temptation will be too great,” she tweeted

Is he that “thin skinned”?

But wait….as usual Trump has waffled, something he does with all ease these days…..

On Monday, Trump himself clarified his position: He says he wants to debate, but not through the non-profit organization that has traditionally organized the forums, reports the Hill. In a series of tweets, Trump accused the Commission on Presidential Debates of being “stacked with Trump Haters” and biased against him. “As President, the debates are up to me, and there are many options, including doing them directly & avoiding the nasty politics of this very biased Commission,” Trump wrote. “I will make a decision at an appropriate time but in the meantime, the Commission on Presidential Debates is NOT authorized to speak for me (or R’s)!”

He added, however, that he would “very much look forward” to debating the Democratic nominee. In response to the criticism, the commission denied Trump’s accusation of bias and said its record was “one of fairness, balance, and non-partisanship,” per Politico. One of Trump’s specific beefs with the group is that his microphone wasn’t working properly during his first debate with Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. The commission later acknowledged that “there were issues regarding Donald Trump’s audio that affected the sound level in the debate hall,” but Trump on Monday accused the group of “deliberately modulating” his microphone.

The CPD is a non-partisan group that conducts the debates…..

Sorry but Trump is looking like a coward here.  He is making excuses for him not to appear.  The easiest way for a coward to hide.

I hope he comes to his senses and debates his opponent…the American people deserve to see and hear their president and his challenger.

Debates: Third Time’s A Charm

The last in a long line of totally worthless exercises in stupid…..ends tonight.

The Third and final debate of the 2016 election season (and none too soon)…..as usual I refuse to watch the crap storm…..I have a book I need to finish….but since there may be some readers out there that still think the election is worth the time invested……

Good news for Hillary Clinton: Many pundits say you won the final debate. Good news for Donald Trump: A lot of them say it was close. Good news for America: You’ll never have to watch these two debate again. The showdown in Vegas turned out to be more policy-focused affair than the first two debates, though there was no shortage of angry exchanges—and coverage is being dominated by Trump’s refusal to commit to accepting the election results. A round-up of debate reactions:

  • Both candidates turned in their best performance of the three debates, according to Chris Cillizza at the Washington Post, who declares Clinton the winner. “She finally figured out the right calibration of ignoring and engaging Trump,” he writes, while Trump’s answer on accepting election results “was a total disaster and will be the only thing people are talking about coming out of the debate.”
  • For a few minutes early on, “we had something like a normal debate,” with candidates setting out familiar policy positions, writes Arthur C. Brooks at the New York Times. But as the evening went on, “concrete solutions mostly disappeared and the tone became far more biting and sarcastic. The candidates were openly contemptuous and disrespectful of each other,” he writes, declaring the only winner to be the “grim status quo” of this election.
  • “This was no game changer, and no knockout punches,” writes Jim Geraghty at the National Review—except for Trump’s refusal to commit to accepting the election results, which could count as a “self-inflicted knockout punch.”
  • Caleb Howe at Redstate.com declares Clinton and Trump joint winners in their attempts to win over undecided voters: Both know that they are hated by many voters, he notes, and while Trump “appealed the haters who lean right, she appealed to the haters who lean left.”
  • Trump desperately needed a win and for a while it looked like he would get one, writes David Gergen at CNN, where 52% of those polled called Clinton the winner, compared to 39% for Trump. After 40 minutes, Gergen writes, Trump “began to lose steam and, importantly, lose control of his ego. Wild charges, interruptions, defensiveness all resurfaced—some would say his persecution complex kicked in.”
  • If it wasn’t for refusing to commit to respecting the election results and his crack about Clinton being a “nasty woman,” “maybe you could call it a draw,” writes Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight. “The thing is, even a draw would be a bad outcome for Trump, who is 7 points behind Clinton and has few remaining opportunities to catch up,” he writes. But Trump may not fall further in the polls, “because he’s fallen pretty far already and he gave his 35% base some things to be energized about tonight.”
  • Ric Anderson at the Las Vegas Sun thinks Clinton came out ahead: Trump was able to, “for the most part, focus on issues and keep his emotions in check,” he writes, but his “gloom-and-doom assessment of the economy” will not resonate with voters in Nevada, where the economy has been doing very well for years, while Clinton “stayed the course with her message of creating jobs” in areas including infrastructure improvement.

I had to watch it in repeat…..not that I wanted to but rather to see if what I read and heard about the thing were accurate…..

I have two other points that were not made…..

First, the battle for Mosul has begun and the candidates talked about it and not once did they mention that US troops are leading the charge….no wishes for a speedy return of our guys…..NOT one word for them….these are the political props that all fake patriots use but in reality could care less.

Second, it was billed as a debate….it was NO such thing!  What it was was a school yard argument of insults and innuendoes….

Third, that was the most immature outing for supposedly rational adults that I have ever witnessed…all that was missing was the sticking out of tongues after a point was made.

Finally, anyone that votes for either of these d/bags needs their fucking head examined.

Debate #2: Night Of The Living Dead

Last night we had a full range of entertainment…..NY Giants lost to Green Bay 23-16…..there was a NASCAR race somewhere…..the Japanese GP that Red Bull won………but if you are not into sports then there was the worst reality TV……2016 elections……and the 2nd debate……

The truth is I watched a debate…..never laugh so damn much in a long time…..oh…it was NOT the latest piece of literary crap….nope it was the debate from those geniuses from Bad Lip Reading…….the 1st debate

Now that was entertaining!

But for those people (mostly Trump supporters) without a sense of humor…..I found a breakdown of the clown show last night…….take their word for it ….or make up your own shit…..matters not!

  • Chris Cillizza, Washington Post: He’s got Clinton in his “winners” category because “she went into this debate with massive momentum in the race—much of it caused by Trump’s stumbles—and didn’t make any sort of glaring error that would allow the Republican back into the contest.” Trump, meanwhile, “was much more solid and energetic in this debate than in the previous tilt.” But he lost because while he pleased his base, “we know from polling that his base isn’t nearly large enough to win an election.”
  • Andrew Sullivan, New York: “I’m horrified to say that Trump will survive this, even though he absolutely shouldn’t. I suspect this performance will prevent a total meltdown in his campaign. His Breitbart-style attacks on Clinton will have riled up his base. Her defensive rebuttals were not crude enough to hit home. … He may still win this election.”
  • Guy Benson, Townhall: “He improved, exceeded expectations, decisively won several exchanges. She could have landed a death blow tonight and did not.”
  • Anthony Zurcher, BBC: Clinton “has to view this as an opportunity missed. Her supporters were hoping for a political kill shot that would push Mr Trump’s remaining supporters toward the exit and turn the last month of the campaign into a glorified mop-up operation,” but it never arrived.
  • Van Jones, CNN (via Mediaite): He thinks Trump won the debate but views that as a larger win for Clinton. “The worst possible outcome for Hillary Clinton would have been if she had knocked him out. If she had knocked him out and forced him out of the race, the Republican Party could rally and get somebody else in there.”
  • Alexander Burns, New York Times: Clinton survived the “nuclear attack” of the assault against her husband. And “if Mr. Trump steadied himself as the night went on, he never showed a side of himself that might surprise voters and transform their overwhelmingly negative views of him.”
  • San Diego Union-Tribune editorial board: “Trump not only seemed to slow the bleeding, he might have stopped it. … Will this stem GOP defections? Maybe. Will this win over voters concerned about his temperament and suitability as commander-in-chief? Maybe not.”
  • This Muslim American Life author Moustafa Bayoumi: “I’m a Muslim, and I would like to report a crazy man threatening a woman on a stage in Missouri.”
  • A YouGov poll done in the immediate aftermath had Clinton winning 47% to 42%.

Somewhere there is a die hard Trump supporter that will be thumping their chest at a Trump win…..these are the same people that would find it endearing even if Trump whipped out his penis for all to see……also the same people that bitch that our country is going to Hell….but do not realize the Trump is driving the fucking car.

“I Was Robbed!”

I have been following politics for about 50 years (yes I am an old fart) and I cannot remember a time when politics was more fucked up than in this election year.

Our major candidates are a woman that is about as big a war hawk as Mussolini….and scam artist that hides behind a business empire that no one can identify.

As the day of vote draws near this time around the stupidity and total bullshit is choking the process with platitudes, insults and finger pointing…..imagine a 6th grade argument in the playground….and you have an idea of just how far this thing has slid down the rabbit hole.

We have just had our first presidential debate, if you could possibly call it that, and it was a total waste of time and energy for anyone that watched it…..(I have watched on video…that way I could pause and go puke from time to time)….but the fun part is listening to the spin the candidate has come up with sine that night….first it was a faulty mic that he was given and now that has changed to lambasting the moderator……

Donald Trump appears to have changed his tune about Monday night’s debate: He’s still saying that he won, but he’s now also saying that Lester Holt’s moderating was biased against him, the Hill reports. “I had to put up with the anchor and fight the anchor on everything I said. What a rigged deal,” Trump, who initially said Holt did a “great job,” told a campaign rally in New Hampshire Thursday. “What’s going on in this country is so sad.

I mean come on….this ass is a sore loser…..and he will blame everything possible and the sad part is that the mentally challenged that support him will buy into the spin….even if they watched the whole disaster from start to finish…..

And it is not over yet….we still have 2 more presidential debates and a single VP debate, which may prove to be more professional than the first one……but what can we expect in the next presidential one?

  • Politico reports that Trump’s campaign has ignored the advice of senior Republicans and is now targeting Bill Clinton’s infidelity, including the issue on a list of talking points sent to surrogates. Sources say the campaign is in turmoil after a disappointing debate performances and aides are looking at ways to change the conversation, including a possible last-minute trip to Israel.
  • Trump himself brought up Bill Clinton’s impeachment at a campaign rally in New Hampshire Thursday, the AP reports, but analysts say the Bill strategy could backfire, especially with women voters. “The whole notion of trying to get Hillary Clinton to pay for Bill Clinton’s infidelities is just strategically a bad choice,” says GOP strategist Katie Packer.

Will the Mad Hatter jump down the rabbit hole or will he finally start acting like an adult?

All I can do is smile……and wait for the attacks…….

I’m going for pancakes……

More From America’s Mayor

Remember Rudy Giuliani? After his “bravery” after the 9/11 attacks he was dubbed America’s mayor…..and he has used that situation to make himself millions and access to multi-media sites…

But in the last few years he has been talking smack and looking about as crazy as that bitch Geller……and after the latest presidential debate he is at it again…..this time he is giving Donald Trump, he is a supporter and endorser, some advice about the upcoming debates that remain…..

Donald Trump thinks that he was the clear winner of Monday’s debate and that moderator Lester Holt did a “great job” with “very fair” questions. But if Rudy Giuliani were Trump, he’d take a hard pass on the last two debates, per the Hill. Or at least not “unless I was promised the journalist would act like a journalist, and not an ignorant fact check,” the former NYC mayor said after the debate, as shown in a Bloomberg video. (Starting around the 16:15 mark.) “My advice would be the moderator would have to promise they’d be a moderator.” Giuliani especially took umbrage at Holt’s “outrageous” input during a discussion on the controversial stop-and-frisk policy Giuliani put into place while he was New York’s mayor (current Mayor Bill de Blasio has since nixed the program).

Holt said the practice had been ruled “unconstitutional” in New York, which hit a nerve with Giuliani. “If journalism has ethics, Lester Holt [was] unethically interfering in the area of law he knows nothing about,” Giuliani said, adding, “It is not unconstitutional.” (The Hill notes it was ruled unconstitutional by a circuit court judge but was never given the final word by a higher court. See LawNewz for a more in-depth explanation.) “If you wonder why Donald Trump thinks that the press is a left-wing basically oriented group, Lester Holt proved it tonight,” Giuliani said, per Politico. (Giuliani’s take on Black Lives Matter: It’s “inherently racist.”)

He is NO longer the sharpest pencil in the box….and if Trump takes his advice then he will join him in that tag….it would be politically unwise to follow anything this mental midget has to say…..especially with the election so close.

2016:  Presidential Debate Full Transcript

In case you did not watch the first presidential debate and would like to know what was actually said beyond the spin from the media then look no further…..

Every word uttered by “Frick and Frack”…….

Source: Presidential Debate Full Transcript: Everything Trump and Clinton Said

On a side note……today in 1904…..A woman is placed under arrest for smoking a cigarette on New York’s Fifth Avenue.  (You’ve come a long way baby)

Dr. Jill Stein– Rebel With a Cause

As an ex-rebel myself I am always impressed by people that stand up for what they believe….in 2016 that person is Dr. Jill Stein……

The first inkling that she was a person that would not shrink from confrontation…..

If the man won’t let Jill Stein participate in Monday’s presidential debate, then Jill Stein will just hold her own debate. Politico reports the Green Party candidate will hold a “Let Jill Debate” protest outside the first showdown between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton at Hofstra University in New York then follow it with a “People’s Debate” on social media. Earlier in the week, the Stein campaign had mulled having 100 supporters risk arrest in an attempt to “escort” their candidate onto the debate stage, according to the Guardian. Neither Stein nor Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson were polling high enough—the cutoff is 15% nationally—to qualify for the debate. Johnson says he’ll be watching the debate and live-tweeting it.

Then on the night of the first presidential debate she made good on her threat…..

Green Party candidate Jill Stein was removed from the Hofstra University campus for the second election in a row on Monday. Stein—who was arrested before a presidential debate in 2012—was met by police and campus security after she boarded a media bus to the university ahead of the Hillary Clinton-Donald Trump debate and USA Today reporter Eliza Collins tweeted about it. Stein had planned to hold a “Let Jill Debate” protest outside the event, which she and Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson were excluded from.

Officials say Stein was removed because she didn’t have the proper credentials. “She was on the college campus, we asked to verify for proper credentials, she did not have them, and she was nicely escorted off the campus,” a police spokeswoman tells CNN. Stein went on to live-tweet the debate, offering her own answers, as well as lines like: “I’d be terrified with Trump’s finger on the button but I’d also be terrified with Clinton’s finger on the button.” Johnson also live-tweeted the Hofstra debate. “Neither of these candidates is willing to stand up for free trade. Why am I not at these debates?” he wondered.

Good for her!

Personally I feel that parties that give candidates at every election should be included….especially those with national attention regardless of the poll numbers.

There should be an independent group that controls the debates…..the media is NOT a good source of unbiased BS…….there should be a switch that cuts the candidate off when they digress into campaign posturing….issues only needs to be the rule.
