A Political Football

Yesterday the news broke that a Congressional ball game practice had been interrupted by gunfire….

Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, the GOP House majority whip, has been shot while at baseball practice in Alexandria, Va., reports Fox News. He is expected to survive, and the gunman is in custody. Police say a total of five people were wounded, with the other four believed to be two Capitol Hill police officers, a congressional aide, and the gunman. Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama was there and tells CNN that a white male shooter with a rifle of some kind unleashed multiple rounds on the field from behind a chain-link fence near a dugout. “I saw Scalise go down at second base,” said Sen. Rand Paul. Brooks said Scalise was shot in the hip and he helped tend to his fellow lawmaker’s wound by using a belt as a makeshift tourniquet. The extent of the injuries to others wasn’t immediately clear, but at least one person, believed to be one of the officers, was air-lifted from the scene.

“I was on deck, about to hit batting practice, when I heard a ‘blam,'” said Brooks on CNN, per USA Today. Scalise “was not able to move under his own power” and was “dragging his body from second base,” he said. “He was shot in the hip. I think it was not a life-threatening wound.” The Republican team was there practicing for a charity baseball game. Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona also was present and confirmed the gunman had been shot. “Whether he was targeting certain members, we don’t know.” He added that he got hold of Scalise’s phone and called Scalise’s wife to tell her the news personally. In a statement, President Trump tweeted that Scalise was a “true friend and patriot” and will “fully recover.” Paul credited the two Capitol Hill police officers on the scene with preventing a “massacre.”

Later the news broke with the ID of the gun man……

The gunman who opened fire Wednesday morning at a GOP congressional baseball practice outside DC has died, President Trump revealed in a public statement about the attack. The shooter had just been identified as 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, Ill. Authorities have not speculated about a motive. Hodgkinson, whose license for a home-inspection business was not renewed late last year, has had at least one prior brush with the law: About a decade ago, he was charged with battery and aiding damage to a motor vehicle in St. Clair County, Ill., reports the Washington Post. The charges were dismissed.

After I heard the news my first thought was for the injured and then I wondered how long it would take someone, an intellectual midget, to turn this into some political football.

Did not take long before the biggest d/bag of all made his lame ass statement….

Former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) on Wednesday linked a growing trend of “hostility” on the left to violent incidents like the shooting that morning at congressional Republicans’ baseball practice.

“It’s part of a pattern,” Gingrich said on Fox News. “An increasing intensity of hostility on the left.”

Gingrich pointed to the violence and intimidation toward conservatives on college campuses as another sign of the left’s hostility toward Republicans and President Trump.

“Look, I talk to college students regularly,” Gingrich continued, “who say that if they are openly for Trump, they get threatened.”

“I’ve had college students tell me they get threatened with being beaten up, some of them get death threats,” he said.

Gingrich is a shameless opportunist….he is trying to take political advantage of a sad situation.

Right-wing Iowa Republican Rep. Steve King did not attend Wednesday’s practice but traveled to the baseball field after the shooting to tell the gathered media that “the violence is appearing in the streets, and it’s coming from the left.”

Wait!  There is more……

President Donald Trump’s son, Don Trump Jr., took his outrage to Twitter as well and blamed so-called New York elites who have glorified the assassination of the president.

And anyone that tries to make political hay out of this situation is a douche bag of the same caliber…..and I mean anyone….matters not which side of the aisle they play on…a gutless freak.

Both Republican and Democratic lawmakers report an increase in threats following Wednesday’s shooting at a GOP baseball practice in Virginia. Republican Rep. Claudia Tenney of New York tells CNN she received an email with the subject line “One down, 216 to go.” The body of the email read: “When you take away ordinary peoples [sic] very lives in order to pay off the wealthiest among us, your own lives are forfeit. Certainly, your souls and morality were lost long before.” Democratic Rep. Nanette Diaz Barragàn tells BuzzFeed multiple Democratic lawmakers received calls saying “You guys are next” after the shooting.

Lawmakers from both parties say threats were already increasing prior to Wednesday’s shooting. Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas says there’s been a shift in the “intensity of ugly calls,” saying some of the threats “really tug at your heart.” Republican Rep. David Schweikert of Arizona says he recently received a threat hoping for the death of his daughter. “In the past we’ve always sort of just sucked it up,” he says. Republican Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana and lobbyist Matt Mika were shot Wednesday and remain in critical condition following surgery, CNN reports. Congressional staffer Zach Barth and Capitol Police officers Crystal Griner and David Bailey are doing well. The shooter, James Hodgkinson, was killed by police.

TO BBQ Or Not To BBQ

There is only so much silliness that I can read before I have to break down and call a moron a moron….this time it is the loud mouth Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas…..

He is all butt hurt because the Capital bureaucracy told him he cannot BBQ his “world famous” ribs (his claim not mine)……

Congress last week finally turned to something genuinely important, when Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas blistered the Architect of the Capitol, the caretaker of the government’s buildings on Capitol Hill, for interfering with the preparation of his barbecued ribs.

Getting in the way of authentic barbecue is a crime for which there is no forgiveness. It’s a crime almost as heinous as serving fraudulent barbecue, of which there is, alas, no shortage.

Mr. Gohmert represents a district in East Texas which should give him an understanding of the real thing. When the wind is up and blowing from the east, hickory smoke from Arkansas and Louisiana sometimes reaches Longview, Gladewater and even Gun Barrel City. The deeper a hungry man travels into Texas, however, the greater the risk of ordering barbecue and getting smoked beef, which can be delicious but is not, strictly speaking, barbecue. Only the noble pig, after spending 24 to 36 hours in the smoke house, is the stuff of authentic barbecue.

The Saga Of Jade Helm 15

When the military training exercise entitled as Jade Helm 15 was first announced the Moronic Right wen batcrap crazy…..people like Alex Jones started telling their idiot followers that the US military was preparing for a military takeover…….even an elected official, the governor Texas ordered the National Guard to keep tabs on the exercise to head off any attempts at a junta.

What truly worried me was that many people that I considered rational played along with the nonsense and even tried to make sense of why the government would do this.  DO what?  The military is on a training exercise something they do all the time and have been doing for decades without any hint of a coup.

Maybe the people that were most concerned had just viewed the movie “7 Days In May” on TMC……..that could explain the irrationality……

I have been sarcastically digging at the people that took this thing seriously because I am an irritating SOB…….and I want them to feel as foolish as they are…….

But what about Jade Helm 15…….what has been happening….I mean other than some non-existent coup……..

North Carolina is not one of the states where the U.S. military training exercise dubbed “Jade Helm 15” is taking place this summer. Nevertheless, three men from Gaston County were charged with conspiring to arm themselves with illegal explosive devices to combat what they saw as a potential military takeover, according to court documents unsealed Monday in U.S. District Court in Charlotte.

The documents alleged Walter Eugene Litteral, 50, Christopher James Barker, 42, and Christopher Todd Campbell, 30, stockpiled weapons and discussed how to build homemade explosive devices. Litteral also allegedly tried to purchase a firearm for Barker, who is a convicted felon.

A tipster first contacted the FBI in June after becoming concerned that Litteral and Campbell were “preparing to use lethal force against United States government forces in order to defend against the imposition of martial law or other infringements on their rights,” according to an affidavit. The affidavit noted that the two men had discussed their belief that “Jade Helm 15” was actually a cover for the implementation of martial law with the tipster.

Is that it?  NOPE!  My state of Mississippi has its share of morons (more than most states)……and someone had to pull the trigger…..

For the second time this week, a gunman opened fire at Camp Shelby, a military training center that is part of the “Jade Helm 15″ training exercises, according to the Associated Press.

A man matching the same description as Tuesday’s shooter, white and driving a red or maroon pickup truck, opened fire around 8 a.m. Wednesday, the Clarion-Ledger reports. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

On Tuesday, a gunman with the same description fired at two soldiers training at Camp Shelby. Two men were taken into custody and questioned, but were then released without charges, according to the paper.

Appears that Southern meth heads and crack smokers are more of a threat then some poor soldier on a training exercise…..

 

Hawks hate the Iran nuclear deal – Vox

Does anyone remember Nixon’s trip to China in 1972?  Let me refresh your memory…..when it was announced that he would make the trip the Congress went batcrap crazy…..condemning the trip because the US would be doomed and that the Commies had won the Cold War……doom and gloom…….reminds me of the hoopla coming from the GOP today over the Iran Deal……The GOP was wrong then…..they are wrong today!

Since the announcement, to be honest from the beginning, of the Iranian deal the war hawks have been against the thing…….they predict doom and gloom if it is passed.  I was expecting that from that dweeb in Israel but I would think that there would be some back slapping (I know I was being delusional).

Every hawk in Congress has been in front of the cameras and crapped on the deal…….and at the same time few I have even read the document….I mean it is 159 pages….cannot be that hard to acquaint oneself with it………I understand that most of them have the reading capability of a 10 year old…..but seriously.

They hate the deal……which is okay but why do they hate the deal?  Not one has made a cogent argument against it.

Can we ever get the honest story of why the hate?

In the video, five men are shown wearing ski-mask-like balaclavas, while one man is dressed in an orange jumpsuit—much like those worn by Western hostages in the videos of their very-real executions at the hands of ISIS—and kneeling before them. One of the masked men holds what looks to be a coat hanger above their “prisoner” like a knife about to be used for a beheading, and someone says, “Allahu Akbar” and ululates before the group breaks out in laughter. A source tells the Sun: “It’s shocking they would think this is funny.

Huckabee Makes My 2015 Sh*t List!

From time to time a politician makes it onto my sh*t list……..and this election it is Huckabee.

He opened his mouth and inserted both feet…..my mother was a Jicarilla Apache and I have a soft spot for my Native American ancestry……then some lily white douche has to go and make a statement that gets my ruffles up…….

Any time this person would like to defend his accusation I will be right here….doubt very seriously if he has the cajones to debate…….

(Sen.) Cotton Picking Moron (Again)

Okay I said in the past that I would lay off writing about Arkansas favorite Son, Sen. Tom Cotton, but I lied…..not because I wanted to but rather because this mental midget will not shut up…..he makes it so easy to mock him!

He started by trying to look like a big boy and writing a letter to Iran’s leaders about what would happen if a deal was found for their nuke production….and it was signed by a list of other mental midgets that thought it would be a good idea.  Proving once again that the people that hold the Constitution up as a prop at their campaign events still have NO idea what it says beyond the 1st and 2nd amendment…….

After he made his first faux pas he could sit down and be silent….Nope, he had to rattle on again……he then had to worry that any deal would jeopardize any negotiations with Israel……what negotiations?  Israel has NEVER negotiated in good faith why would they now……

And now Cotton is worried that Iran will have a bomb if the deals is linked……

The Obama administration’s work on a nuclear deal with Iran could lead to a nuclear war, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said in an interview published on Monday.

“If we agreed to the kind of proposal the Obama administration has made, then military confrontation may be further off, but it might also be nuclear,” he said in an interview with The Atlantic.

“Twenty years, 10 years, 12 years, who knows? The proposal puts Iran on the path to being a nuclear-arms state, and I think once Iran becomes a nuclear-arms state, this will lead inevitably to some kind of military confrontation,” he said. “It may not be initially with the United States, but I think that’s virtually inevitable.”

He also noted that one option to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons was to conduct military strikes against the country now.

These asshats just tickle the crap out of me for they are morons and they do not know it….they just keep talking…….think about what this yutz had to say……with a deal Iran would have the bomb soon and we would have a war…..to stop that from happening we need to bomb Iran’s facilities now…….

So his big plan is to save a war later we need to go to war now……..

I wish I could just move on from this Babbling Buffoon…..but he will not shut up so I can move on!  Sen. Cotton may receive my “Crack’d Pot Award”……..

Sen. Cotton from Arkansas….that low level senator that has walked into DC with his mouth open and has not shut it yet.  We all know about his “infamous” letter to Iran trying to crap on the nuke negotiations the admin is in the middle of…..and then he went off with his expansionism bullsh*t in his speech to the Senate…..and that is where most of the news was reported…..he was chest thumping like ALL GOP senators over the military…..but while he was making his first speech he said something that made me……. FREAK!

The Obama admin said that they would re=assess our policies with Israel for some of the statements that BiBi made trying to sway the elections……but Cotton;s reaction to this news was hilarious………

Cotton, the right-wing freshman in his second month in the Senate, called Psaki’s comments “worrisome“ – for a very specific reason.
“While Prime Minister Netanyahu won a decisive victory, he still has just started assembling a governing majority coalition. These kinds of quotes from Israel’s most important ally could very well startle some of the smaller parties and their leaders with whom Prime Minister Netanyahu is currently in negotiations.
“This raises the question, of course, if the administration intends to undermine Prime Minister Netanyahu’s efforts to assemble a coalition by suggesting a change to our longstanding policy of supporting Israel’s position with the United Nations.”
Think about the quote…..he is worried that the statements from the State department could effect delicate negotiations for Israel…….does this moron really NOT see what he is saying?
But wait there is more!  On Face The Nation Cotton made the comment that ” Iran was starting to control the region……my God they already control Tehran”…….apparently he does not know that Tehran is the capital of………Wait for it……… Iran!
Not only does this mental midget not know the Constitution but he has NO idea about geography either………with this much idiocy what makes him capable of governing?
The GOP has done this to itself…….it has created a generation of morons……I kinda like the quote……”All that self-expression has just created a generation of morons, hooked on an endless appetite for rubbish.“
