Public universities in Florida will be required to survey both faculty and students on their political beliefs and viewpoints, with the institutions at risk of losing their funding if the responses are not satisfactory to the state’s Republican-led legislature. 

The unprecedented project, which was tucked into a law signed Tuesday by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, is part of a long-running, nationwide right-wing push to promote “intellectual diversity” on campuses — though worries over a lack of details on the survey’s privacy protections, and questions over what the results may ultimately be used for, hover over the venture.

Based on the bill’s language, survey responses will not necessarily be anonymous — sparking worries among many professors and other university staff that they may be targeted, held back in their careers or even fired for their beliefs.

The context: Putin is likely to come under strong criticism from Biden at their meeting in Geneva for moves against his political opponents in Russia, particularly the imprisonment of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, the detention of thousands of demonstrators protesting his arrest, and the outlawing of Navalny’s organizations as extremist. “You are presenting it as dissent and intolerance toward dissent in Russia,” Putin said in an interview with NBC News. “We view it completely differently.” He then pointed to the Jan. 6 unrest in Washington.

“Do you know that 450 individuals were arrested after entering the Congress?” he said. “They came there with political demands.”

An accused Capitol rioter who was pictured with his foot on Nancy Pelosi’s desk during the January 6 insurrection did an interview with Russian state TV ahead of a summit between US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Richard Barnett appeared on Russian state TV with his attorney Joseph McBride on Sunday. The interview was first reported on by the Daily Beast.

A New Hampshire man who admitted in a media interview to entering the Capitol and drinking wine he stole from a lawmaker’s office said he’s running to unseat Democrat Ann Kuster as state representative.

There was just one small problem with Jason Riddle’s plan to run for the statehouse.

Kuster serves in the U.S. House of Representatives, a fact that reporter Katherine Underwood pointed out during an interview with Riddle that aired on Sunday. That resulted in this exchange:

Josh and Jessica Bustle have reached a plea agreement for their participation in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Jessica infamously posted on social media that Vice President Mike “Pence is a traitor.”

The couple was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, knowingly engaging in disorderly or disruptive conduct in restricted building or grounds, violent entry and disorderly conduct on capitol grounds, and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in Capitol buildings.

“Several tips were received indicating that Jessica BUSTLE and her husband Joshua BUSTLE were present at the Capitol and entered the building,” said the Statement of Facts from the Justice Department. “These tips included Facebook postings which appear to have been made by Jessica BUSTLE.”

Intel says that there could be more violence of the horizon……

A new federal intelligence report warns that adherents of QAnon, the conspiracy theory embraced by some in the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol, could target Democrats and other political opponents for more violence as the movement’s false prophecies don’t come true.

Many QAnon followers believe former President Donald Trump was fighting enemies within the so-called “deep state” to expose a cabal of Satan-worshipping cannibals operating a child sex-trafficking ring. Trump’s loss to President Joe Biden disillusioned some believers in “The Storm,” a supposed reckoning in which Trump’s enemies would be tried and executed. Some adherents have now pivoted to believing Trump is the “shadow president” or Biden’s victory was an illusion.

The report was compiled by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security and released Monday by Senator Martin Heinrich, a New Mexico Democrat. It predicts that while some QAnon adherents will pull back, others “likely will begin to believe they can no longer “trust the plan” referenced in QAnon posts and that they have an obligation to change from serving as “digital soldiers” toward engaging in real-world violence.”

As an example, Griffin showed part of his discussion with Donovan Crowl, a retired Marine and member of the far-right paramilitary group the Oath Keepers, who is facing multiple charges stemming from his invasion of the Capitol — but who doesn’t view it as a serious situation. “I was hanging out with some of the wrong people it seems like, but I didn’t really do anything, so I feel pretty good that my case is going to come out and show that.”

A U.S. Capitol rioter says he attacked a police officer during the Jan. 6 insurrection because the officer made fun of the Donald Trump supporters violently storming the building.

Newly released video shows 54-year-old Thomas Webster, a Marine Corps veteran and former New York City police officer, screaming profanities at officers and striking at least one of them with a flagpole before tackling the officer, but his defense attorneys intend to blame the victim for the attack, reported MSNBC’s Scott MacFarlane.

“Showing little regard for the peaceful protesters present, Officer N.R. can be seen reaching over the metal barrier and pushing a peaceful male protester wearing a maroon sweatshirt who was blinded by pepper spray,” a court filing says. “Officer N.R. can also be observed mocking several protesters who were complaining about this Officer’s excessive use of force.”

Waco Tribune-Herald reported that a man from Gatesville, Texas who claimed he felt “invincible” storming the Capitol is among the many arrested by the FBI for their involvement in the incident.

Stacy Wade Hager, 57, was arrested May 27 in Waco after someone who saw his Facebook posts alerted federal authorities.

“Photos from the riot show Hager wearing a ‘Trump’ baseball cap and carrying a Texas flag. Hager is seen on a video talking to a District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department officer outside the Capitol, according to records in his case. The officer told Hager, ‘Nah, nah, I get it, you are just walking up behind our line,’ according to federal records,” wrote the Waco Tribune-Herald. “‘Hager then responded: ‘Actually that was my purpose.’ The MPD officer continued, ‘If you could not, we are all trying to stay safe and get home.’ Hager replied, ‘I know you are and I really appreciate y’all.’ However, Hager continued to walk past the MPD officer and through the barricades where he was instructed by police not to go,’ according to federal records.”

The investigation into potential ties between key figures in the riot and those who promoted former president Donald Trump’s false assertions that the election was stolen from him does not mean those who may have influenced rioters will face criminal charges, particularly given U.S. case law surrounding incitement and free speech, the people said. Officials at this stage said they are principally seeking to understand what the rioters were thinking — and who may have influenced beliefs — which could be critical to showing their intentions at trial.

One insurrectionist is trying to find a way to lessen the penalty for her actions on 06 January….

An Indiana woman, expected Wednesday to be the first of more than 400 people charged in the Capitol attack to be sentenced, has agreed to plead guilty to a single federal charge, saying movies and books have showed her what life is like for nonwhite people. In a letter to the judge, Anna Morgan-Lloyd of Bloomfield apologized for entering the Capitol building and failing to remove herself from a violent crowd. Had she done so, violent participants “may have lost the nerve to do what they did,” wrote the 49-year-old grandmother, per the Indianapolis Star. “For that I am sorry and take responsibility.” Attached to her letter were movie and book reports for Schindler’s List, which tells of a factory owner’s efforts to save 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust, and Just Mercy, which explores Bryan Stevenson’s career fighting against racial injustice in the legal system.

Morgan-Lloyd said she’d “lived a sheltered life,” per HuffPost. But “I’ve learned that even though we live in a wonderful country, things still need to improve. People of all colors should feel as safe as I do to walk down the street.” On Facebook, she’d described Jan. 6 as the “best day ever,” adding she was among “the first 50 people” inside the Capitol, per WUSA. But she now says she’s “ashamed” at how the events of the day unfolded. Initially charged with four counts, she’ll plead guilty to misdemeanor parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building in exchange for three years probation, a $500 fine, and 40 hours of community service, per WUSA. Acting US Attorney Channing Phillips has agreed to the deal, acknowledging her remorse, lack of criminal history, and cooperation. Authorities note she didn’t engage in violence or damage property.

On Tuesday, the Republican congressman asked a representative of the U.S. Forest Service, tasked with managing America’s national forests and grasslands, if the agency might consider branching out, so to speak.

“I understand from what’s been testified to, the Forest Service and the [Bureau of Land Management], you want very much to work on the issue of climate change. I was informed by the past director of NASA that they’ve found the moon’s orbit is changing slightly and so is the Earth’s orbit around the sun. We know there’s been significant solar flare activity, and so — is there anything that the National Forest Service or BLM can do to change the course of the moon’s orbit, or the Earth’s orbit around the sun?” Gohmert inquired. “Obviously that would have profound effects on our climate.”

“I don’t believe in evolution,” the QAnon adherent told former Trump White House strategist Steve Bannon on his “Real America’s Voice” podcast this week.

“I don’t believe in that type of so-called science. I don’t believe in evolution. I believe in God,” Greene continued, gesturing with air quotes during a discussion about the potential origin of the coronavirus. An estimated 40% of Americans believe God created humans as described in the Bible, according to a 2019 poll.

This included 17% of GOP voters who said it’s “very likely” Trump will be reinstated. 

Meanwhile, most GOP voters (61%) and the vast majority of Americans overall (72%) — including 84% of Democrats — say it’s unlikely Trump will be restored to the presidency this year.

Donald the Orange has made yet another of his ‘brilliant’ and uninformed predictions……it seems this ‘really smart person’ thinks that he will be reinstated as president come August……

Yep he believes that the election of 2020 will be overturned and he can once again sit in the seat of power…(and the peasants danced)….

Maggie Haberman of the New York Times covered President Trump while he was in office, and she now reports that he’s intent on getting back there sooner than people think. On Twitter, Haberman writes that Trump “has been telling a number of people he’s in contact with that he expects he will get reinstated by August.” In subsequent tweets (there’s no Times story about this, at least as of Tuesday morning), Haberman writes that Trump is “laser focused” on state election audits still underway. “It isn’t happening in a vacuum,” she adds. “It is happening as he faced the possibility of an indictment from the Manhattan DA.” Haberman’s initial tweet on this was a reaction to a CNN story about Trump supporters wishing for a coup to restore him to office.

Business Insider notes that Trump allies, including MyPillow founder Mike Lindell, have been pushing the idea that the former president will be somehow restored to the White House, even though no constitutional framework exists for that to happen. And Forbes points out that even former Trump attorney Jenna Elllis, who maintains that the 2020 election was “lawless,” isn’t buying the idea. “The Constitution has only one process for removal of a sitting president: impeachment and conviction,” she writes. “No, President Trump is not going to be ‘reinstated.'”

There’s an old internet adage that says the longer a political discussion continues, the greater the probability that someone will compare something to Nazi Germany. In a speech on Thursday night, however, Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene didn’t take long to both denounce such comparisons – and then make one herself.

At a stop in Dalton, Georgia on her and Rep Matt Gaetz’s “America First” speaking tour, the combative congresswoman complained that Democrats “spent four years… calling Republicans Nazis.”

“That’s a mean, nasty, dirty word,” she said. “And what did they call President Trump? Hitler, that’s right! That’s one of the most evil men to ever walk this earth, but that’s what they called our president.”

Moments later, Ms Greene was using that “mean, nasty, dirty word” to describe Democrats.

“You know, Nazis were the National Socialist Party, just like the Democrats are now a national socialist party,” the Georgia Republican said.

It was not Ms Greene’s first Nazi comparison this month. Last week, she drew widespread condemnation for comparing masks to the yellow stars Jews were forced to wear in Nazi Germany.

Silicon Valley can’t cancel this movement, or this rally, or this congressman. We have a Second Amendment in this country, and I think we have an obligation to use it.” He then went on to define the Second Amendment as giving citizens “the ability to maintain an armed rebellion against the government of the United States, if that becomes necessary.”

Avowed QAnon disciple and confessed felon retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn has called for a Myanmar-like military coup in America.

“It should happen,” Donald Trump’s former national security adviser said in an astonishing declaration at a QAnon conference Sunday.

Flynn presented his dark vision of a military coup and dictatorship in the U.S. in response to a question from the audience at the conference.

“I wanna know why what happened in Myanmar can’t happen here?” an unidentified member of the audience asked Flynn, though he pronounced the nation as “Minnimar.”

“No reason,” Flynn responded to wild screams of approval. “It should happen.”

Tucker Is An Idiot

Well his rant has not bode well for him…..

With vaccinations increasing, the CDC on Tuesday relaxed its guidelines on when masks are needed outdoors. The push to reduce mask-wearing outside had been gaining steam of late, though Tucker Carlson took the argument to a whole new level on his Fox News show Monday night, specifically in regard to children. He likened outdoor mask-wearing by kids to child abuse and urged viewers to call police if they see it. Coverage:

  • “Your response when you see children wearing masks as they play should be no different from your response to seeing someone beat a kid in Walmart,” he says, per Mediaite. “Call the police immediately, contact child protective services. Keep calling until someone arrives. What you’re looking at is abuse, it’s child abuse and you are morally obligated to attempt to prevent it.”
  • “If it’s your own children being abused, then act accordingly,” he continues. “Let’s say your kids school emailed you and announced that every day after lunch, your sixth grader was going to get punched in the face by a teacher. How would you respond to that? That’s precisely how you should respond when they tell you that your kids have to wear masks on the soccer field.”
  • And later, he drew an unexpected parallel between vaccinated adults wearing masks outdoors and, er, something else: Watching “a vaccinated person, someone with the antibodies wearing a mask outside is like watching a grown man expose himself in public,” he said, per a video clip at CNN. “That’s disgusting, put it away please. We don’t do that here.”
  • Politico Playbook complains that the suggestion to call the cops about kids wearing masks “was beyond the pale even for him, and especially strange for a self-styled anti-nanny state libertarian.” The blog’s post on all this begins, “Is Tucker Carlson losing his mind?”
  • Michael Luciano at Mediaite has a similar criticism: “Calling police or child protective services because a kid wears a mask outdoors is ridiculous and a waste of official resources, even if it’s just the dispatcher taking 20 seconds to mock the caller following Carlson’s advice.”
  • The right-wing site Twitchy notes that “it should go without saying that you shouldn’t actually report kids in masks to the police or CPS.” But, it adds, “the point that Carlson is making about zealots who insist on shaming people who refuse to wear masks outdoors” is being overlooked by Carlson’s critics.   • As for the risk of vaccinated people outdoors, Dr. Anthony Fauci over the weekend called it “minuscule,” notes the Hill. “I think it’s pretty common sense now that outdoor risk is really, really quite low, particularly—I mean, if you are a vaccinated person, wearing a mask outdoors, I mean, obviously, the risk is minuscule.” The new CDC guidelines reflect that, saying those who are vaccinated can skip the mask outdoors unless they’re in a crowd.

Since I live in a state that has a low IQ and after watching a few videos of morons challenging people with masks….and babbling about their rights….I figure it is only a matter of time before I am approached by some overweight in-bred moron about my masks….so decide instead of an argument I would just hand them a business card that says…..

I have been a political watcher for many years and I thought I had seen everything stupid when Trump put in Spicer as Press Secretary……then he, Trump, install that Huckabee female……and then things got really weird when Trump gave the Press job to this one woman, Kayleigh McEnany, it pushed the dispensing of BS to a whole new level.

Her most recent piece to total moronic logic is the piece about the push to re-open schools.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany argued Thursday that “science is on the side” of President Trump’s push to fully reopen schools this fall. McEnany cited a study in JAMA Pediatrics that found “severe illness is less frequent” in child coronavirus patients. She said it showed that COVID-19 poses “far less” risk to children than seasonal flu, the Hill reports. “The science is on our side here, and we encourage for localities and states to just simply follow the science, open our schools.” McEnany said keeping schools closed is “very damaging,” because “there is a lack of reporting of abuse, there’s mental depressions that are not addressed, suicidal ideations that are not addressed when students are not in school.”

“Our schools are extremely important, they’re essential, and they must reopen,” she said. McEnany also said “the science should not stand in the way” of reopening, a remark which was reported out of context by numerous outlets and then retweeted by several Democratic lawmakers, leading the Washington Examiner to accuse the press of selectively editing McEnany’s remarks to “make her sound like a knuckle-dragging flat-earther.” CNN‘s Dr. Sanjay Gupta notes that while studies have consistently shown that the risk of children getting very sick from the coronavirus is relatively low, how much of a role they play in community transmission of the virus is still an “open question.”

She is a knuckle dragging flat-earther…..if she believes that “science should not stand in the way”.

There is NO one but a complete idiot that believes that the opening of schools will be safe.

Anti-abortion activist Alveda King implied last week that New York has been hit so hard by the COVID-19 pandemic because it is “the home of abortion.” Religious-right leaders routinely portray the U.S. as deserving of God’s wrath for permitting legal abortion.

King made her comments on a Wednesday night online gathering called by POTUS Shield founder Frank Amedia to promote “The Return,” a religious-right pre-election rally being planned for Sept. 26 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. King, who is a member of the POTUS Shield leadership council, said she would be attending “The Return.”

On the call, Amedia asked King to talk about the topic of abortion, saying that “too many children have died, and the blood is crying out to our Lord.” Amedia reminded listeners that he has prophesied that God would allow President Donald Trump to name three Supreme Court justices and enough lower court judges to change the law of the land. Trump has an “assignment of God” to do away with abortion, Amedia said, which is a reason that POTUS Shield supports Trump:

An Ohio state lawmaker is refusing to wear a mask because, well, it would cover his face. In a Monday Facebook post, GOP Rep. Nino Vitale cited his religious beliefs in refusing Republican Gov. Mike DeWine’s recommendation to wear a mask to limit the spread of COVID-19, per the Hill. “This is the greatest nation on earth founded on Judeo-Christian Principles,” Vitale wrote. “One of those principles is that we are all created in the image and likeness of God. That image is seen the most by our face.” Therefore, “I will not wear a mask.”

With the state moving to reopening certain nonessential businesses, DeWine announced April 27 that people in stores would be required to wear masks. However, he quickly reversed course, saying masks would be recommended but not mandated. Vitale’s post included video clips of DeWine and Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton discussing the recommendation. He directed officials to “ignore the unelected Dr. Acton’s orders” and “open your counties now, before it’s too late.” He also asserted the virus was no worse than the flu, though research to date on COVID-19 shows it has a higher death rate and is more contagious, per Live Science.

Really?  I would think God is better looking than this whack-a-doole…..he is off his nut.

Then we have a failed conserv candidate and her racist rant…..

DeAnna Lorraine, a failed congressional candidate and conspiracy theorist, said in an online video Wednesday that she wasn’t “buying” the fact that the COVID-19 coronavirus is disproportionately affecting black Americans, but added that if it were, it may be because black people are ignoring social distancing guidelines to have big “house parties and barbecues and crawfish boils.”

On Monday night’s episode of his “YourVoice America” program, ardent pro-Trump commentator and right-wing conspiracy theorist Bill Mitchell once again declared that President Trump is being guided by the hand of God.

“We are up against evil right now, but God is on our side,” Mitchell declared. “The media was against Trump. Never Trump was against Trump. The Democrats were against Trump. The Obama DOJ and FBI were against Trump. It was just up to God plus us and that was enough to get Donald Trump elected.”

“This is God’s country,” he continued. “God founded this country and he is not going to give it up to a bunch of America-last, manage-the-decline, Vichy-government Democrats. He is going to keep in charge of this country.”

GOP Montana Rep. Rodney Garcia is refusing calls from his own party to resign over remarks that the U.S. Constitution says socialists can be shot.

The Billings Gazette reports: “Garcia rejected the call to resign Monday, saying that the ‘only way I would give my resignation is if God asked me to.’ The pressure to resign came after Garcia raised a question Friday during a Republican party organizing meeting in Helena. Garcia said he was concerned about socialists “entering our government” and socialists “everywhere” in Billings, before saying the Constitution says either to shoot socialists or to put them in jail.”

Indeed, former Fox News and Fox Nation hosts Diamond and Silk — the stage names of Lynette Hardaway and Rochelle Richards — recently implied that Gates’ desire for a vaccine was linked to a “population control” agenda. (They were later fired from the network for saying this.) Florida pastor Adam Fannin argued that Gates supports vaccination so he can implant “digital certificates” into people that would send information about COVID-19 infectees to the United Nations, and that Gates wants to “depopulate” the world.

Dr. Trump has made a pronouncement that the worse is over with in this country and we will soon be back to work……

“The data suggests that nationwide, we have passed the peak of new cases.” That was the word from President Trump Wednesday as he promised that certain parts of the US would soon begin to reopen, the BBC reports. Per CNBC, Trump said new cases of the coronavirus are “declining” in New York and are “flat” in Denver and Detroit; the rate of new cases across the US has been declining for the past six days. While the latest federal guidelines to slow the spread of COVID-19 go through May 1, Trump said some states may begin to ease restrictions before that. The AP reports that Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House coronavirus task force coordinator, noted there are nine states with fewer than 1,000 cases and just a few dozen new cases each day, and that those will likely be the first to see social distancing restrictions eased.

“I would say that we have 20 states, at least, but you really have 29 that are in extremely good shape. You have others that are getting much better,” Trump added Wednesday, echoing the CDC director’s comments that same day that “19 or 20” states could be ready to reopen by May 1. The White House is set to discuss guidelines for reopening the country Thursday, and the AP says that while the ultimate decisions will remain with the governors of each state, the new federal guidelines “are aimed at clearing the way for an easing of restrictions in areas with low transmission of the coronavirus, while keeping them in place in harder-hit places.” However, when Trump spoke with dozens of industry leaders Wednesday, they warned that protective equipment and increased testing will be needed before their businesses can safely resume operations.

President Trump on Wednesday threatened to use a constitutional clause that’s never been invoked before in order to forcibly adjourn Congress so he can push through nominees that would otherwise need to be confirmed by the Senate. He says there are 129 nominees for various federal agencies awaiting confirmation, and since senators are away from Washington until May 4 amid the coronavirus pandemic, he needs to do something. “As the entire US government works to combat the global pandemic, it is absolutely essential that key positions at relevant federal agencies are fully staffed,” Trump said during Wednesday’s daily coronavirus briefing. “We have many positions that are unstaffed because we can’t get approval.” More:

  • Recess appointment: As the AP, CNN, and NBC explain, the president has the power to make “recess appointments” to fill certain positions without Senate confirmation while Congress is in recess—but Congress has in recent years refused to fully adjourn in order to prevent Trump and, before him, President Obama, from making such appointments.
  • The current situation: So, while lawmakers have gone back home on a break, Congress is not technically in recess. The unstaffed positions include the director of national intelligence, two members of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, an assistant secretary of the Treasury Department, and an undersecretary of agriculture, and Trump seemed to be arguing Wednesday that he needs people filling those vacancies in order to help with the government’s coronavirus response.
  • Trump’s take on the recess appointment provision: “The Constitution provides a mechanism for the president to fill positions in such circumstances,” Trump said. “The Senate’s practice of gaveling into so-called pro-forma sessions, where no one is even there, has prevented me from using the constitutional authority we’re given. … The current practice of leaving town while conducting phony pro-forma sessions is a dereliction of duty that the American people cannot afford during this crisis.”
  • What he might do next: He called on Congress to adjourn so he can make the appointments, but said “if the House will not agree to that adjournment, I will exercise my constitutional authority to adjourn both chambers of Congress.”
  • How that would work: The constitutional clause Trump is threatening to invoke allows the president to adjourn Congress if there is a disagreement between the House and the Senate as to whether to adjourn. While Obama did attempt to make recess appointments during a pro-forma session and was thwarted by the Supreme Court, SCOTUS has not ruled on this clause, because no prior administration has ever invoked it.
  • What would need to happen: The House is unlikely to hold a vote to adjourn, so the most likely scenario involves senators coming back to Washington and voting to adjourn, thus creating the necessary disagreement with the House.
  • Trump’s take on the never-before-invoked clause: “I have a very strong power. I’d rather not use that power but we have way over a hundred people that we very badly need in this administration that should have been approved a long time ago. … Perhaps it’s never been done before, nobody’s even sure if it has, but we’re going to do it.”
  • One expert’s take: “To get away with it, he would obviously have to do this with the support of the Senate,” says a senior fellow in governance studies at the nonpartisan Brookings Institution. “If [Senate Majority Leader Mitch] McConnell agrees to this, it would be the most extraordinary abdication of power. And somehow I can’t believe he would do it. Maybe in [Trump’s] own mind he’s thinking ‘This is my way to push Congress out of the way and do anything I want.’ It’s sort of an autocratic move.”
  • Will it come to that? A spokesperson for McConnell later said the Senate majority leader and Trump talked about the issue, and that McConnell “pledged to find ways to confirm nominees considered mission-critical to the Covid-19 pandemic, but under Senate rules that will take consent from [Minority] Leader [Chuck] Schumer.” NBC notes that appeared to be an attempt to “defuse” the situation by acknowledging Democrats would need to agree to adjourn.

The king presumably saw no separation between himself and France. Trump also doesn’t seem to accept the fact that the federal government has a mission beyond serving his own needs and ego. He mistakes the Justice Department for his team of personal lawyers. He considers the Supreme Court a body to ratify his decisions. The federal stockpile of personal protective equipment is his own stash to share or withhold. And the US treasury? It’s his own personal checkbook.

Why Trump’s Contempt for Oversight May Sink Pandemic Stimulus

Finally Donald the Orange came close to competing with Rush on the radio……

President Trump almost launched a White House talk-radio show last month but backed off in deference to Rush Limbaugh, the New York Times reports. Three unnamed White House officials say Trump walked into the Situation Room with a pitch: Listeners would call in and talk to him directly, without screening, so he could address their concerns about the coronavirus pandemic. But Trump ditched the idea that same day, not wanting to compete with Limbaugh. Someone at the meeting suggested airing on weekends or mornings to avoid Limbaugh’s schedule, but the president shook his head. Instead, he chose to hold long daily media briefings that often sideline the pandemic in favor of attacks on reporters, per Vanity Fair.

Meanwhile, Limbaugh—a close ally and golf buddy of the president—is maligning the virus (calling it the “common cold”) and medical experts (“Hillary Clinton sympathizers”) as he attacks the economic shut-down on The Rush Limbaugh Show. “Are we just going to sit by and watch $22 trillion—that’s the value, that’s the sum total of the GDP, that’s the US economy—are we just going to sit by here and watch it evaporate?” he said March 31 on his hugely popular show, a vanguard for conservatives. “Because that’s what we’re doing, under the guise of not losing any unnecessary life.” Yet the vast majority of Americans appear to support the shutdown. Which leaves Trump where? He says the question of when to reopen the economy is “the biggest decision I’ve ever had to make.”

Every day our Fearless Leader thinks he has unlimited power and is given by God….he does not know that we fought a war to avoid those political downfalls…..maybe he should have stayed awake in school or better yet served in the military so he would know what this country is really about.

This is not the country that our Founders believed in…..and it gets worse by the day…..not to worry Trump has waffled again….he got his minutes in the headlines and now he backs off…..

Kinda humorous how getting an education is somehow the wrong thing to do because it will make you a “Liberal”……..so does that mean that ignorance is better than knowledge?

What made me write this post is a piece I read about some moron in Tennessee, a senator no less, ……….

A Republican Tennessee lawmaker says he supports getting rid of higher education because he argues it would cut off the “liberal breeding ground.”

Sen. Kerry Roberts of Springfield called for eliminating higher education while speaking about attending a recent abortion legislative hearing on his conservative radio talk show on Sept. 2.

Roberts specifically called out one activist who testified in favor of protecting abortion rights. He asserted without evidence that the woman’s beliefs were a “product of higher education” and claimed that getting rid of higher education would “save America.”

The senator did not immediately respond to a request for further elaboration.

Roberts also questioned funding higher education with tax dollars. He voted in favor of the state’s $38.5 billion budget earlier this year, which included money for colleges and universities.
