A video of an exchange between President Trump and a female reporter late last week is gaining renewed traction because of the president’s blunt cutoff of “Quiet, piggy.” As USA Today reports, it happened aboard Air Force One on Friday. The reporter asked Trump about his name coming up in the Jeffrey Epstein files, and the president downplayed his link to Epstein. Another reporter began asking a question on a different topic, but the first reporter kept going with a follow-up question. At which point, Trump pointed at her and said, “Quiet, quiet piggy,” per Deadline.

The Guardian notes that the exchange didn’t draw much attention at first, but a backlash has been brewing among other journalists. “Disgusting and degrading,” tweeted former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson. “Disgusting and completely unacceptable,” wrote CNN anchor Jake Tapper alongside a clip of the incident. The female reporter works for Bloomberg News, and neither she nor the news organization has responded to the insult publicly.

Why has Bloomberg not defended their employee?

President Trump denounced ABC News’ Mary Bruce as a “terrible reporter” Tuesday and threatened the network’s license to broadcast after she asked him three sharp questions at the White House. The network’s chief White House correspondent was among reporters let into the Oval Office to question the president and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the AP reports. She asked Trump whether it was appropriate for his family to be doing business in Saudi Arabia while he was president.

  • Before he could answer, she directed a question to the Saudi leader: “Your Royal Highness, the US intelligence concluded that you orchestrated the brutal murder of a journalist. 9/11 families are furious that you are here in the Oval Office. Why should Americans trust you? And the same to you, Mr. President.”
  • After asking Bruce who she worked for, Trump called ABC “fake news” and defended his family’s business operations in Saudi Arabia. The president dismissed the US intelligence finding that the prince likely had some culpability in the 2018 killing of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, a critic of the Saudi kingdom. He said “a lot of people didn’t like” Khashoggi, a Saudi citizen and a Virginia resident. For his part, Prince Mohammed said it had been “painful” to hear about Khashoggi’s death, Reuters reports. “We’ve improved our system to be sure that nothing happened like that,” he said. “And it’s painful and it’s a huge mistake.”
  • Trump later criticized Bruce for asking the prince a “horrible, insubordinate and just a terrible question.” He laced into her after a third query, about why the White House is waiting for congressional action to the Justice Department’s files on Jeffrey Epstein. “Why not just do it now?” Bruce asked.
  • It’s not the question that I mind,” Trump said. “It’s your attitude. I think you are a terrible reporter. It’s the way you ask these questions.” After addressing the Epstein question, he returned to Bruce, saying that “people are wise to your hoax.” “I think the license should be taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and it’s so wrong,” he said. “And we have a great (FCC) commissioner, the chairman, who should look at that because I think when you come in and you’re 97% negative to Trump. And then Trump wins the election in a landslide. That means, obviously, your news is not credible. And you’re not credible as a reporter.”

Just when the tariffs are starting to cause problems many thought that Greenland would be furthest from Donny’s mind…..well Bubba you be mistaken.

Amid the Trump administration’s ongoing rhetoric regarding a possible takeover of Greenland, two sources tell the Wall Street Journal the US is ordering its intelligence agencies to increase spying in the semiautonomous Arctic territory. Specifically, the administration wants information on Greenland’s independence movement as well as how residents feel about US objectives on the island, including resource extraction, the sources say. By intercepting communications, using surveillance satellites, and gaining intel via actual spies on the ground, the agencies are tasked with identifying people in Greenland and Denmark who are friendly to those objectives, the sources say.

The Journal calls it “one of the first concrete steps Trump’s administration has taken toward fulfilling the president’s often-stated desire to acquire Greenland,” and it comes days after the president’s interview with NBC News in which he wouldn’t rule out the use of military force to seize the island. Most agencies declined to comment on the Journal‘s report, but Trump’s director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, issued a statement saying the paper “should be ashamed of aiding deep state actors who seek to undermine the President by politicizing and leaking classified information. The president is set to announce during his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia that the United States will begin calling the Persian Gulf either the Arabian Gulf or the Gulf of Arabia, according to two US officials who spoke to the AP on Tuesday on condition of anonymity. Arab nations, which already call it the Arabian Gulf, have advocated for the name change, while Iran, formerly Persia, unsurprisingly prefers Persian Gulf, the name that has been used for centuries.

The US military has been calling the body of water, which sits between Iran and the Arabian Peninsula, the Arabian Gulf for years, the AP notes. Iran threatened to sue Google over a Google Maps change in 2012. In 2017, Iranian officials criticized Trump for calling it the Arabian Gulf. “Everyone knew Trump’s friendship was for sale to the highest bidder. We now know that his geography is, too,” said Javad Zarif, then the country’s foreign minister. As with Trump’s renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America, other countries aren’t obliged to go along with whatever the US decides to call the body of water.

During a tense meeting to discuss tariffs with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, the president attempted to move the goal posts on actually completing any agreements with foreign countries.

“Everyone says, ‘When, when, when, are you going to sign deals?’ We don’t have to sign deals!” Trump said.

“We don’t have to sign deals. They have to sign deals with us. They want a piece of our market, we don’t want a piece of their market. We don’t care about their market. They want a piece of our market,” Trump rambled.

The president’s unwieldy statements downplaying the importance of the trade deals seemed to be cushioning the likelihood that negotiations would ultimately fail. Trump’s remarks also revealed that his administration has yet to complete a single trade deal.

President Trump is changing his tune on the economy, suggesting Americans should buy less and will probably pay more and bear the brunt of an uncertain economic landscape as his wide-ranging tariff policy takes effect.

Trump and his economic team have for weeks said the tariffs would result in only short-term pain and that the tumult in the stock market would eventually level out.

But the White House’s messaging has evolved from Trump on the campaign trail promising to lower prices and make America “wealthy” again to Trump suggesting the U.S. needs a cultural shift on consumer spending while accepting that his tariff plan will raise prices.

Trump was asked Sunday by NBC’s Kristen Welker if he would acknowledge that his tariff plan will result in higher prices.

At first, the president suggested tariffs will “make us rich” — similar to sentiments he’s expressed when touting his economic policy. But in the next turn, he suggested that American children, for example, do not need as many toys and that Americans do not need to spend as much money on “junk we don’t need.”

Signalgate is expanding: Four people tell the New York Times that, in addition to the infamous Signal chat that inadvertently included a journalist, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also used the messaging app to send sensitive military information to his wife, brother, and personal lawyer. The sources say that on March 15, Hegseth shared essentially the same details of upcoming strikes on Yemen in the two separate Signal chats: one titled “Houthi PC small group” (created by national security adviser Mike Waltz) to which Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg was accidentally added, and another titled “Defense | Team Huddle” (created by Hegseth himself) that included the aforementioned trio along with others from his inner circle.

The sources say Hegseth created the “Team Huddle” group chat prior to his Senate confirmation, and that after he was installed at the Pentagon, several advisers encouraged him to move the chat to government channels, but he did not. Per the Times, the chat generally included “routine administrative or scheduling information,” and it’s not clear why the information about the Yemen strikes was shared there, but Hegseth’s inclusion of his wife and brother in his job has previously raised eyebrows.

Also included in the “Team Huddle” group chat were two of Hegseth’s senior advisers who were recently fired following accusations of leaking sensitive information to the media, accusations they denied in a public statement. The White House has decried the Times article as a “non-story,” insisting “no classified information was shared” and blaming the fired advisers for leaking the story to the newspaper, the AP reports. The chaos at the Pentagon has some speculating that Hegseth could be ousted soon, Axios reports.

Mississippi Stupid

My state has an amazing amount of stupid but this pandemic has brought the morons out of the woodwork and the the most moronic is the governor, Tatter Twat Reeves…..

Recently this dullard told the people of Mississippi that there is no reason to mask up for Heaven awaits…..

It’s become almost a glib cliche to describe members of the conservative power structure in this country as belonging to a “death cult” each time a Republican lawmaker or influencer steps gleefully aside to allow the ongoing pandemic to kill people ostensibly in that person’s care. And yet, I can’t think of a better, more frustratingly accurate term to use to describe Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves after his recent coronavirus statements, delivered while the highly infectious Delta variant of the disease surges across the country.

“I’m often asked by some of my friends on the other side of the aisle about COVID … and why does it seem like folks in Mississippi and maybe in the mid-South are a little less scared, shall we say,” Reeves told several dozen attendees last week during a Republican fundraiser event in Eads, Tennessee, just across the border from his state.

 

“When you believe in eternal life,” he continued, “when you believe that living on this Earth is but a blip on the screen, then you don’t have to be so scared of things.”

Despite Reeves’s subsequent caveat that “God also tells us to take necessary precautions,” it’s important to really parse out what he’s saying here: that people in the South are more content, if not outright eager, to embrace a pandemic-induced death, because of their faith in the (specifically Christian understanding of the) afterlife. Jews, Muslims, Indigenous peoples, atheists, and any other disbelievers need not apply.

Well the GOP is selling shirts to raise money that state “MORON”……

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is attempting to fundraise off House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) calling him a “moron” last month for criticizing a mask mandate in Congress’ lower chamber.

And it’s going exactly how’d you’d expect.

Several reporters noticed on Thursday that McCarthy, through WinRed, was selling red T-shirts with the word “moron” printed on them in large bold letters.

Below the word, the shirt says: “A term coined by Nancy Pelosi referring to freedom-loving Americans who oppose mask mandates.”

The call to action on the WinRed page urges people to donate between $25 and $2,900, the maximum allowed.

“Nancy Pelosi JUST CALLED Kevin McCarthy a ‘moron’ for opposing the mask mandate. You’re a top patriot and HE NEEDS YOU to get this t-shirt to oppose HER & the Radical Socialist Left,” the page reads.

People online mocked McCarthy for hawking the T-shirts, with many people pointing out that the whole thing felt like a giant self-own.

In the letter, Brooks casts doubt on the safety of COVID vaccines, calling them “experimental” and adding that it’s “understandable” for Americans to be hesitant to take them. Also in the letter, Brooks suggest masks could be linked to cancer.

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) on Sunday insisted that infrastructure like roads and bridges is a “women’s problem” because they do the “shopping.”

Cassidy made the remarks on NBC’s Meet the Press, where he was arguing on behalf of a bipartisan infrastructure bill.

“If you go home and talk to constituents who are stuck in traffic for an hour and a half getting to work and an hour and a half getting home — three hours a day that they don’t spend with their family — they want a bridge coming to a town near them,” Cassidy explained.

“My wife says that roads and bridges are a woman’s problem if you will,” the senator added. “Because oftentimes it is the woman — aside from commuting to work — who’s also taking children to schools or doing the shopping. And the more time that she spends on that road, the less time she spends doing things of higher value.”

Glorious readers, it’s time to meet Wisconsin Republican Senate President Chris Kapenga, who probably ought to wash his tongue after the letter he just delivered unto Dear Leader Trump, begging for his approval and desperately trying to prove his devotion. It is the most embarrassing thing we have ever seen from a person who is ostensibly a grown man. It is more embarrassing than Tom Cotton trying to do push-ups and instead doing the worm because he’s apparently been skipping core day for the past 20 years.

Granted this douche was not part of the insurrection but is included to show just how far these low IQ slugs well go to suck up anything Trump….this thinking lead to the event on 06 January…..

One insurrectionist  demands Trump pay for his legal stuff…..

A man arrested this week for participating in the January 6th riots at the United States Capitol building demanded that former President Donald Trump pay his legal bills.

As reported by Reuters legal affairs journalist Jan Wolfe, MAGA rioter Zvonimir Jurlina was arrested in Austin, Texas this week and charged with inciting violence against members of the media who were covering the rioting Trump supporters and with encouraging the theft of media equipment.

In a video posted shortly after his court appearance Jurlina complained about being a “political prisoner” who was being persecuted for being a “patriot.”

A former Virginia police officer charged in the Capitol attack was ordered not to possess any weapons—which is why authorities were alarmed to find an email receipt showing he’d ordered 34 guns. Thomas Robertson, fired by the Rocky Mount Police Department shortly after his Jan. 13 arrest, was released from custody on several conditions, including that he relocate all firearms from his home within 48 hours. Yet “four days later, while executing a search warrant at the defendant’s house in connection with the Capitol riots charges, law enforcement discovered and seized eight firearms from the home,” prosecutors write in court documents filed Wednesday, per BuzzFeed. Another search came Tuesday after FBI agents claimed to have found emails showing Robertson had ordered 34 guns, which were to be picked up from a broker, per the Washington Post.

Inside Robertson’s home, agents allegedly found a loaded M4 rifle, lots of ammunition, and a partial pipe bomb inside a box whose label mentioned “booby trap,” per BuzzFeed. It was “a metal pipe with two ends caps, with a fuse inserted into a hole that had been drilled into the device,” prosecutors write in a motion calling to void Robertson’s release order so he can be jailed until his trial. “Although this device did not contain explosive powder, such powder was found nearby,” they add, “this conduct, coupled with his calls for future violence, shows that no condition or combination of conditions can adequately protect the public from the defendant.” Robertson, who’s pleaded not guilty, described an unfolding revolution on Facebook in the days after the attack. “Peace is done. Now is the time for all the braggart ‘Patriots’ to buckle armor,” read one post.

Come August we could be looking at a repeat of 06 January….

Ahead of the Jan. 6 attacks on the U.S. Capitol, far-right militia groups and supporters of President Donald Trump were plotting in plain sight to “take the Capitol” and attempt to overthrow the government for their candidate.

CNN reported Wednesday that the “Department of Homeland Security officials are warning that the same sort of rhetoric and false narratives that fueled the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol could lead to more violence this summer by right-wing extremists.”

DHS is seeing the same kind of online rhetoric and threats that were coming out months ahead of the Jan. 6 attack. During closed-door meetings Wednesday, officials told lawmakers that misinformation and “the big lie” is a big influence on those plotting violence.

Seven months later, the plotting is happening again online ahead of a planned attack in August. Supporters of Donald Trump believe that he will somehow be reinstated.
” Some adherents have now pivoted into believing that Trump is the “shadow president” or that Biden’s victory was a sham,” wrote the Associated Press in June.

Anthony Aguero, a close ally of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene can be seen in videos and photos with Republican members of Congress who traveled to a route along the border frequented by migrants on Tuesday night. CNN’s KFile previously reported that Aguero went into the Capitol during the January 6 riot and cheered and justified the break-in.
During his livestream of the Tuesday visit, Aguero interviewed and chatted with Reps. Tom. Tiffany of Wisconsin, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina, Chris Jacobs of New York, Michael Cloud of Texas, John Rose of Tennessee, Ronny Jackson of Texas, and Mary Miller of Illinois.
“Hi guys, Congressman Hawthorn is behind me,” Aguero tells viewers during his livestream, mispronouncing Cawthorn’s last name. “That is freaking awesome. That is freaking awesome. I’ll tell you that.”

And the Supreme Court has made it official……

In a stunning decision last week, the Supreme Court ripped the mask off the Republican Party. According to the nation’s highest court, the party no longer has anything to offer the American people.

Of course, the Supreme Court didn’t say that directly, but that’s the indisputable meaning of their ruling to uphold the Affordable Care Act. Seven justices — including two appointed by Donald Trump — rejected, for the third time, a Republican Party attempt to overturn the public health plan passed by Congress in October 2009.

Read between the lines of their decision. In effect, the Supreme Court told Republicans: Look, get serious. ObamaCare’s been around for almost 12 years now. You promised to “repeal and replace” it with something better, yet never came up with a plan of your own. You voted to repeal it 54 times in the House, but never got enough votes in the Senate. This is the third time you begged the Supreme Court to kill it for you, but couldn’t even convince your fellow conservatives to do so. In the meantime, the Affordable Care Act’s more popular than ever — and 31 million Americans have now signed up for health care coverage. You lost this battle. It’s time to move on.

The GOP is becoming as irrelevant as possible thanks to their devotion to the likes of Trump….the party is losing the urban and the suburban voters…..

The Republican Party is in a bind after the Donald Trump era destroyed the GOP in urban and suburban areas, according to a report by The New York Times.

The newspaper interviewed former San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders, who left the Republican Party one day after the January 6th insurrection by Trump supporters seeking to overturn the election.

“I don’t think the right has kept up with the times,” Sanders told the newspaper.

“Across the political map this year, Mr. Sanders’s diagnosis of his former party appears indisputable: In off-year elections from Mr. Sanders’s California to New York City and New Jersey and the increasingly blue state of Virginia with its crucial suburbs of Washington, D.C., the Republican Party’s feeble appeal to the country’s big cities and dense suburbs is on vivid display,” the newspaper explained. “But the party’s growing irrelevance in urban and suburban areas also comes at a considerable cost, denying conservatives influence over the policies that govern much of the population and sidelining them in some of the country’s centers of innovation and economic might. The trend has helped turn formerly red states, like Georgia and Arizona, into purple battlegrounds as their largest cities and suburbs have grown larger and more ethnically mixed.”

Since polls have proven to be anything but accurate we will see just how good this on is in 2022.

I believe we will be surprised.

Keep in mind that 57% of Repubs think the election as stolen through voter fraud…..and that would include the urban and suburban voter.

It says nothing good about our country that 1 in every 3 people apparently believe Joe Biden only defeated Donald Trump in the 2020 election through outright fraud. It is similarly unfortunate that the more than 30% of the country who do believe that has largely stayed unmoved by “facts” and “reality” for the past few months, according to a just-released poll from Monmouth University.

“The continuing efforts to question the validity of last year’s election is deepening the partisan divide in ways that could have long-term consequences for our democracy, even if most Americans don’t quite see it that way yet,” Monmouth University Polling Institute Director Patrick Murray explained in a statement accompanying the poll, published Monday morning. Indeed, a full 57% of Republican respondents affirmed that they believed Biden “only won [the 2020 election] due to voter fraud.”

The GOP political consultants see the light…..

According to a report from the Washington Post, close aides to Donald Trump, as well as high ranking Republican Party insiders are doing all they can to discourage the former president from hastily making endorsements of Republicans with an eye on the 2022 midterms believing they could come back to haunt the party looking to regain power in Congress.
