The Coming Election (2026)

I know many feel and/or believe that Donny will somehow negate the 2026 election and all others thereafter….I use to doubt he could do it but that was when I was young and naive and his recent statement leaves no room for doubt anymore.

President Trump on Monday called on Republicans in Congress to seize control of elections, which would conflict with how the Constitution assigns that authority. In an interview Monday with podcaster Dan Bongino, Trump again asserted without evidence that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him and said the GOP should “take over” elections and “nationalize the voting.” He suggested Republicans should control elections in “at least 15 places” but did not specify which states, the Washington Post reports. “We have states that are so crooked, and they’re counting votes,” Trump said, per NBC News.

Under the Constitution, state governments set the “Times, Places and Manner” of elections, with Congress able to regulate some aspects. The president is given no role in the process. Trump’s position is a dramatic escalation of his efforts that have included advocating for stricter voting rules and for investigations into what he maintains was election fraud, per NBC News. The FBI searched a Fulton County, Georgia, warehouse containing 2020 ballots and related materials last week, a site central to 2020 election conspiracy theories. A warrant allowed agents to collect paper ballots, machine tapes, digital images from the count, and voter rolls. On Bongino’s program, Trump said he actually won “in a landslide” and predicted “some interesting things” would emerge from Georgia.

The Justice Department under Trump has sued nearly two dozen states, per Politico, for access to their voter registration lists. And he said last month that he regrets not having the National Guard seize voting machines after the 2020 election; courts across the country rejected fraud claims about that vote. During the interview, Trump alleged, again without evidence, that undocumented immigrants voted illegally in 2020. “If Republicans don’t get them out, you will never win another election as a Republican,” he said. The New York Times points out that an audit by Georgia’s secretary of state in 2024, for instance, found that 20 of the 8.2 million people registered to vote in the state were not citizens. Just nine of them had ever cast a ballot.

We cannot expect the Constitution will save us from Donny’s bullshit for he uses the document for toilet paper….he cares nothing for its meaning.

This is what we get when stupid MFers vote….I do not see it getting any better for now and maybe ever.

Surely there is some comment waiting to come forth.

We Were Maligned

Years ago as Donny was ascending to the halls of power many of us saw it coming and tried to warn people, especially voters, what they were embracing….in those early days we were maligned as alarmists and fakirs….it is called foresight.

You can’t prove you’re from the future, and you’re limited to broadly legal means. Can you persuade enough people to take it more seriously?

After all, you know what’s coming—January 6, the overturning of Roe v. Wade, checks and balances failing, massive open corruption, troops on the streets, abductions by masked men, and concentration camps. But when you warn of these horrors, it sounds outlandish. People won’t believe you. If you insist, you’ll be dismissed as hysterical. Despite knowing the future, you won’t be able to prevent it.

This is not that far from the position many ordinary Americans found themselves in at the start of the Trump era. They weren’t time travelers but saw what was coming clearly enough. They called Trump’s movement fascist from the very start, and often predicted specific milestones of our democratic decline well in advance. They were convinced they were right—and often beside themselves with worry. Accordingly, they did everything they could to get others to listen.

But not enough people did, and many attacked them—even as events proved them right, again and again. As late as February 2025, respected legal commentator Noah Feldman was casually asserting our constitutional system was “working fine” and Jon Stewart was scolding people who used the word “fascist,” claiming all they had done “over the last ten years is cry wolf.”

There is an ancient archetype at work here. In Greek mythology, Cassandra was given the gift of prophecy—of seeing the future—but cursed that she would never be believed. Her name is sometimes used as a pejorative for an overacting alarmist, which, appropriately enough, misses the point. Cassandra was, after all, right. When the Greek army seemingly abandoned the siege of Troy, leaving behind the Trojan horse, she pleaded with the Trojans not to bring it into the city. They did so anyway, and armed men burst out of it, dooming them all.

Why did we see this story again? Why did some immediately see America’s dark future, while others fought them so long and so hard?

https://newrepublic.com/article/204254/survey-2024-election-cassandras-trump-2025

So we were not alarmist…..and yet about 35-40% of the voters still hang onto this creeps coattails for whatever reason.

Maybe people should take a closer look at any political predictions that are made from knowledge and not some knee jerk whim.

Is This Our Fate Now?

+++Note:  If you want to comment at least read the whole thing links and all….there are a few that make comments that really have nothing to do with what was written….I realize that we live in an age of closed minds…..but please let a little light in.+++

For seven months we have been traveling a path that looks like ‘political dictatorship’….and it just keeps getting worse.

Just in words alone…..take a look at Donny’s….

Donald Trump has always admired tyrants a lot more than democratically elected leaders who are restrained by pesky obstacles like parliaments and laws, and it is quite clear that he would rather be a Führer, Duce, or Generalissimo (especially because he thinks of himself as a “war hero”) than a mere president. Therefore, it must be maddening for him that most Americans refuse to recognize him as a dictator, no matter how hard he tries. For the past few days, Trump worked overtime to convince them that he is, indeed, a president-in-name-only (PINO™).

Let’s take a look at just some of the things he said and did.

On Sunday alone, he said that the licenses of NBC and ABC should be revoked because they are being mean to him, threatened to withhold critical infrastructure funding for a state whose governor criticized him, and suggested he may sic his Department of “Justice” (DO“J”) on a former governor who, you guessed it, panned him on TV.

That comes on top of armed troops patrolling the street of the nation’s capital (with military takeovers of other “blue” cities planned), the raid of the home of his former national security adviser who possibly criticized Trump (you may detect a theme here), and his vow to take “harsh measures” if Colorado did not free an election-denying Trump supporter convicted for her role in trying to breach voting equipment.

What More Does Trump Have to Do to Prove He Wants to Be a Dictator?

Is there a new movement afoot?

“Presidential Dictatorship”……

“A lot of people are saying that maybe we’d like to have a dictator.”

So spoke Donald Trump on Monday, during another one of his rambling Oval Office press conferences.

It may be time to invent a new terminology that describes the amazingly rapid political transformation now underway in the United States.

Seven months ago, America was a functioning democracy. Today, it is governed by a much-despised bully who has no respect for the rule of law and feels emboldened to do anything he wants.

Donald Trump, on an almost daily basis, launches policies and executive orders that violate the law, the Constitution, and turn upside down the norms and practices of American democracy.

Until a few months ago, my principal fear was that Trump would transform America into an illiberal democracy, in the style of Hungary’s Viktor Orbán. He would weaken the Justice Department, the FBI, and the courts, and then use the Supreme Court to do his bidding. This he has done. But Trump has exceeded every limit, crossed every red line, and is now pushing America away from democracy altogether. He has arrested judges who disagreed with him, intimidated and humiliated America’s leading corporate leaders, from Mark Zuckerberg to Tim Cook, and may well have had a hand in pressuring Paramount to cancel The Late Show simply because he disliked the biting satire of Stephen Colbert. He sent the FBI to raid the home of John Bolton, his own former national security adviser, soon after Bolton dared to say on CNN that the victor in the Alaska summit had been Vladimir Putin, and that Trump was incompetent.

Why America Risks Becoming a ‘Presidential Dictatorship’

For those interested (sorry had to pause….like anyone gives a shit about what all this means)….there was a bit of a mash-up in 1`788 in the Federalist Papers #70-77….

https://avalon.law.yale.edu/18th_century/fed70.asp

Federalist 70 Alexander Hamilton and the Executive Branch:

  • Most referenced federalist paper concerning the presidency
  • Hamilton argued for “energy in the executive”
  • This energy is the justification for expansion of president’s powers
  • Power of president meant to provide energy, secrecy and dispatch seen in monarchs
  • Government is meant to provide for the common or public good
  • President must be able to protect against foreign attack, administer the laws, and protect property, and secure liberty (thus why he must be energetic)
  • President must protect liberty against factions, anarchy, and greed
  • Example of Roman consuls with power to be dictator in emergency
  • One executive is preferable; more than one will encourage conflict and dissention, the president needs to be able to act quickly and factions are bad here (but they are okay in Congress as seen in Federalist 10)
  • Once Congress passes laws, arguments are over and execution of laws need to be swift
  • Single executive makes fault easier to establish and hold responsible
  • Multiple executives would require a huge expense
  • New York had a single executive and it worked well

Do not know why I bother but I guess I hope someone will actually care.

More Moronic By The Day

I admit it….this group in DC continually prove to me that they are not serious about anything but pleasing his Lord High Donny….and it gets more moronic by the day.

Just when the tariffs are starting to cause problems many thought that Greenland would be furthest from Donny’s mind…..well Bubba you be mistaken.

Yesterday was another on of those days….

Amid the Trump administration’s ongoing rhetoric regarding a possible takeover of Greenland, two sources tell the Wall Street Journal the US is ordering its intelligence agencies to increase spying in the semiautonomous Arctic territory. Specifically, the administration wants information on Greenland’s independence movement as well as how residents feel about US objectives on the island, including resource extraction, the sources say. By intercepting communications, using surveillance satellites, and gaining intel via actual spies on the ground, the agencies are tasked with identifying people in Greenland and Denmark who are friendly to those objectives, the sources say.

The Journal calls it “one of the first concrete steps Trump’s administration has taken toward fulfilling the president’s often-stated desire to acquire Greenland,” and it comes days after the president’s interview with NBC News in which he wouldn’t rule out the use of military force to seize the island. Most agencies declined to comment on the Journal‘s report, but Trump’s director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, issued a statement saying the paper “should be ashamed of aiding deep state actors who seek to undermine the President by politicizing and leaking classified information. They are breaking the law and undermining our nation’s security and democracy.” See the full story at the Journal.

Someone please share with my readers what is it about seal hunting Inuits that would make them a ‘national security threat’?

Donny did not stop there….after renaming the Gulf of Mexico he now has his eyes set on another body of water for a name change….

President Trump is planning to rename another gulf, insiders say. The president is set to announce during his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia that the United States will begin calling the Persian Gulf either the Arabian Gulf or the Gulf of Arabia, according to two US officials who spoke to the AP on Tuesday on condition of anonymity. Arab nations, which already call it the Arabian Gulf, have advocated for the name change, while Iran, formerly Persia, unsurprisingly prefers Persian Gulf, the name that has been used for centuries.

The US military has been calling the body of water, which sits between Iran and the Arabian Peninsula, the Arabian Gulf for years, the AP notes. Iran threatened to sue Google over a Google Maps change in 2012. In 2017, Iranian officials criticized Trump for calling it the Arabian Gulf. “Everyone knew Trump’s friendship was for sale to the highest bidder. We now know that his geography is, too,” said Javad Zarif, then the country’s foreign minister. As with Trump’s renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America, other countries aren’t obliged to go along with whatever the US decides to call the body of water.

What does Donny want from KSA in return?

Glad to see that Donny spends his time thinking up useless crap….what about the hardships he is foisting unto the American people with his damn ignorant tariffs?

What about those trade negotiations that he has said are taking place, hundreds of them, according to his count?

President Donald Trump claimed Tuesday that the U.S. doesn’t “have to sign” any trade deals, inadvertently admitting that his administration hasn’t made any progress during the 90-day pause on his disastrous tariffs.

During a tense meeting to discuss tariffs with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, the president attempted to move the goal posts on actually completing any agreements with foreign countries.

“Everyone says, ‘When, when, when, are you going to sign deals?’ We don’t have to sign deals!” Trump said.

“We don’t have to sign deals. They have to sign deals with us. They want a piece of our market, we don’t want a piece of their market. We don’t care about their market. They want a piece of our market,” Trump rambled.

The president’s unwieldy statements downplaying the importance of the trade deals seemed to be cushioning the likelihood that negotiations would ultimately fail. Trump’s remarks also revealed that his administration has yet to complete a single trade deal.

https://newrepublic.com/post/194920/donald-trump-admits-no-trade-deals

There you have it.

This tool had rather spend his time playing golf and thinking of stupid sh*t that does nothing to help Americans as they struggle through his stupidity.

Those tariffs that are suppose to make us rich….not even the tool that came up with the damn stupid idea has anything positive to say….

President Trump is changing his tune on the economy, suggesting Americans should buy less and will probably pay more and bear the brunt of an uncertain economic landscape as his wide-ranging tariff policy takes effect.

Trump and his economic team have for weeks said the tariffs would result in only short-term pain and that the tumult in the stock market would eventually level out.

But the White House’s messaging has evolved from Trump on the campaign trail promising to lower prices and make America “wealthy” again to Trump suggesting the U.S. needs a cultural shift on consumer spending while accepting that his tariff plan will raise prices.

Trump was asked Sunday by NBC’s Kristen Welker if he would acknowledge that his tariff plan will result in higher prices.

At first, the president suggested tariffs will “make us rich” — similar to sentiments he’s expressed when touting his economic policy. But in the next turn, he suggested that American children, for example, do not need as many toys and that Americans do not need to spend as much money on “junk we don’t need.”

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5283974-trump-tariffs-economy/

His solution is that we to spend less…..(think about that)….in case you missed something thanks to these goddamn tariffs spending less for us is not an option.

We are told that we need to accept the idea we will be poorer….by some of Donny’s hatchet men…

… another case of Trump saying the quiet part out loud. If anything, Trump was merely underlining a sentiment that’s gained traction on the political right in recent years: that Americans should be forced to pay higher prices for basic goods and household items.

Don’t believe me? Here are four other recent incidents in which national conservatives in Trump’s orbit admitted as much.

What Has Happened To the Gov Websites

The takeover of government by unqualified thugs has begun.

In the last few weeks websites of the government having started going dark and seemingly disappearing….WTF?

As an FYI I would like to help my readers that maybe looking for one or more of these sites….

In recent days—in response to directives from the Trump administration—thousands of federal agency web pages have been deleted or altered to remove research, reports, and references to everything from vaccines to environmental policy initiatives. According to The New York Times, more than 8,000 pages have disappeared from the websites of agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Census Bureau, the Department of Justice, and the Food and Drug Administration (to name a few). In other cases, sites are still accessible but have had language related to diversity, gender, and climate change scrubbed.

There are a number of efforts from scientists, researchers, journalists, and advocacy groups to compile and save information that has been removed from federal websites (or is at risk). For example, CDCGuidelines.com has downloadable PDFs of documents on topics like contraception, LGBTQIA+ health, and intimate partner violence, while the Public Environmental Data Project has replicated the Council on Environmental Quality’s deleted Climate & Economic Justice Screening Tool. The Harvard Dataverse is another repository for public data, while the End of Term Archive preserves government websites at risk of changing or being lost in transition between presidential administrations.

You can also find deleted pages yourself using the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine, which scrapes and archives websites across the internet to create a digital information repository. You can enter a specific URL (if you know it) or search specific collections—such as .gov websites and .gov PDFs—using keywords.

On the Internet Archive’s main page, enter the URL of the page you want to read into the Wayback Machine search bar. When the results appear, hover over any calendar date with a blue circle and select a time from the pop-up, which indicates when a snapshot of the page was taken. Depending on the page you’re searching for, you may need to navigate back into 2024.

Alternatively, locate the collection search bar at the bottom of the page, enter keywords, and select a collection from the drop-down. The Wayback Machine has collections for .gov pages and PDFs as well as COVID and end-of-term data.

50 Years In The Making

We have completed a process (a plan) that begun about 50 years ago by electing Trump as president for the second time.

???  What on Earth are you going on about Professor?

Simple if you study political history….

To meet the challenge, business leaders would have to first recognize the severity of the crisis, and begin marshalling their resources to influence prominent institutions of public opinion and political power — especially the universities, the media and the courts. The memo emphasized the importance of education, values, and movement-building. Corporations had to reshape the political debate, organize speakers’ bureaus and keep television programs under “constant surveillance.” Most importantly, business needed to recognize that political power must be “assiduously cultivated; and that when necessary, it must be used aggressively and with determination without embarrassment and without the reluctance which has been so characteristic of American business.”

Powell emphasized the importance of strengthening institutions like the U.S. Chamber — which represented the interests of the broader business community, and therefore key to creating a united front. While individual corporations could represent their interests more aggressively, the responsibility of conducting an enduring campaign would necessarily fall upon the Chamber and allied foundations. Since business executives had “little stomach for hard-nosed contest with their critics” and “little skill in effective intellectual and philosophical debate,” it was important to create new think tanks, legal foundations, front groups and other organizations. The ability to align such groups into a united front would only come about through “careful long-range planning and implementation, in consistency of action over an indefinite period of years, in the scale of financing available only through joint effort, and in the political power available only through united action and united organizations.”

The Lewis Powell Memo: Corporate Blueprint to Dominate Democracy

If you read the article…..does any of that sound any where near familiar?

In 1971 there was a plan and it has been pretty much followed to a tee ever since….

We just watched the final fulfillment of a 50 year plan. Louis Powell laid it out in 1971, and every step along the way Republicans have follow it.

It was a plan to turn America over to the richest men and the largest corporations. It was a plan to replace democracy with oligarchy. A large handful of America’s richest people invested billions in this plan, and its tax breaks and fossil fuel subsidies have made them trillions. More will soon come to them.

As any advertising executive can tell you, with enough money and enough advertising — particularly if you are willing to lie — you can sell anybody pretty much anything.

Even a convicted felon, rapist, and friend and agent of America’s enemies.

America was overwhelmed this fall by billions of dollars in often dishonest advertising, made possible by five corrupt Republicans on the Supreme Court, and it worked. Democrats were massively outspent, not to mention the power of the billionaire Murdoch family’s Fox “News” and 1500 hate talk radio stations.

Open the lens a bit larger, and we find that it goes way beyond just this election; virtually every crisis America is facing right now is either caused or exacerbated by the corruption of big money authorized by five corrupt Republicans on our Supreme Court.

They are responsible for our crises of gun violence, the drug epidemic, homelessness, political gridlock, our slow response to the climate emergency, a looming crisis for Social Security and Medicare, the situation on our southern border, even the lack of affordable drugs, insurance, and healthcare.

https://www.commondreams.org/opinion/trump-oligarchy-wins

The plan is almost complete just a few more cogs to work out.

After that half century we have Trump and his minions of doom…..

The American people want Donald Trump. And now they will get him. He will bring with him a horde of cranks, frauds, religious zealots, gutter racists, and vindictive thugs unprecedented in modern American history. The Nixon White House will look like a zen temple compared to what is coming. Trump’s second term will be a wave of pure malevolence. There will be revenge against his enemies, and there will be assaults on innocent and vulnerable Americans of the sort that our government usually reserves only for people overseas. Fringe lunatics will dictate health policy; Crypto grifters will dictate economic policy; Christian evangelicals will dictate Middle East policy; Flinty corporate lawyers will dictate labor policy; and the mighty American federal government will be run with all the propriety of a late night infomercial selling miracle cures to insomniacs. The cure will be branded TRUMP,” in large golden letters. It won’t work. There will be no refunds.

(Hamilton Nolan)

You see the GOP has been planning this very thing for 50 years and anyone who voted for the GOP in those 50 years has contributed to the situation that many bitch about today.

But let us take a closer look at what that memo brought forth…..Project 2025….

But just how influential are their recommendations? According to The Heritage Foundation, during the first year of Trump’s first term, he “embraced” nearly two-thirds of their policy mandates. The website states that “64 percent of the policy prescriptions were included in Trump’s budget, implemented through regulatory guidance, or under consideration for action.” These included leaving the Paris Climate Accords, increasing off-shore drilling and military spending, and repealing net neutrality.

It remains to be seen just how much of Project 2025 will be enacted once Trump takes office, but there’s no doubt that everything from LGBTQ+ and abortion rights to immigration and climate justice are at risk. Below, what Project 2025 lays out for several top issues.

Read On….

https://www.marieclaire.com/politics/project-2025/

Now you have a small idea of what you will get by putting your vote into ignorance.

If you did vote GOP at any point you can bitch but you see you helped make Trump’s assault on democracy possible by buying into this plan.

I hope you are happy…..and have a merry christmas.
