Time For Barr To Go

The “Report” is out for all to see…..AG Barr has done the job he applied for as the defense council for the president……so it is time for him to go….he is NO longer needed……

Even the site The Hill thinks Barr should resign also…….

After Attorney General William Barr releases his redacted version of the report from special counsel Robert Mueller on Thursday, he should resign. His blatant partisanship disqualifies him from continuing as the chief law enforcement officer of the United States. Neither Congress nor the public will trust that he has been objective and fair in what he has decided to make public of the report, nor will they believe that he can handle any further issues surrounding wrongdoing by President Trump with integrity.

Let us consider the record of Barr in his short time as attorney general in this administration. After two years of constant attacks by Trump on the Justice Department and special counsel for investigating the possible collusion between the campaign and Russian interference in the 2016 election, Barr could have been a breath of fresh air as an attorney general who would firmly stand up for the rule of law. Instead, he just joined in the attacks, calling for yet another investigation into FBI actions during the campaign and releasing a biased summary of the special counsel report.

Time for Barr to tuck tail and leave before he gets himself into real difficulties……his reputation is in the toilet….his master is smiling….and the American people are more divided thanks to his narrative…..so time for Barr to back into the shadows and count his blessings.

In no small part because of the performance on Thursday of Attorney General William Barr, history will treat his Justice Department as it treats the Justice Department under Richard Nixon’s one-time attorney general, John Mitchell—an institution compromised by rank partisanship and more committed to ideology than the rule of law. Barr’s spin on special counsel Robert S. Mueller’s report all but ignored the report’s damning findings, misrepresented significant parts of Mueller’s reasoning, and described President Donald Trump’s motivations and supposed cooperation in terms straight out of White House talking points. Barr engaged in word-splitting pettifoggery that would make even Bill Clinton blush. Barr is clearly compromised by the partisan goals of this White House to the point where he cannot be trusted in the job. He should resign immediately.

You have now heard what FOX has to say about Mueller’s Report. Same with CBS, NBC, MSNBC, NY Times, WaPo, etc etc etc…..

I really do not care what the pundits have to say …their opinion matters not……I want to make up my own mind (I may be alone here)……

We even heard from the AG Barr in a news conference before anyone in the public even saw much less read this report.  This is an odd move…..but to what end?

Do your self a favor about READ THE DAMN THING!

I had a helluva time getting to a place where I could read this report…..the government sites were NO help at all (go figure)…….I give several sites in case one does not work for you.

Passing The Barr

Last week we had hours upon hours of the silly politicians playing to the cameras…..the hearings for the AG replacement, Barr.

I say silly because he has got to go through the Senate and those goddamn cowards have already decided what to do so why bore the piss out of the rest of us to make some partisan point?

But okay let’s look at the new AG….William Barr (he is the wrong person to lead DoJ in my opinion he is a political hack…perfect for the Trump admin that is top heavy with political hacks)……

While the hearings focused on Mueller…there is so much more that needs telling about this person…..

The Senate Judiciary Committee hearings for Attorney General nominee William Barr have focused heavily on Barr’s views on Special Counsel Robert Mueller. But nobody is asking about Barr’s legal crusade for blanket immunity for federal agents who killed American citizens.

Barr received a routine questionnaire from the Judiciary Committee asking him to disclose his past work including pro bono activities “serving the disadvantaged.” The “disadvantaged” that Barr spent the most time helping was an FBI agent who slayed an Idaho mother holding her baby in 1992. Barr spent two weeks organizing former Attorneys General and others to support “an FBI sniper in defending against criminal charges in connection with the Ruby Ridge incident.” Barr also “assisted in framing legal arguments advanced… in the district court and the subsequent appeal to the Ninth Circuit,” he told the committee.

But there is more to this nominee…including a possible stint with the CIA……
 

Why was Barr chosen, given his shocking and deeply criminal/cover-up kingpin background?

Was Trump duped by Deep State enemies, who have placed another predator into his administration with the power to destroy his presidency? Or has Trump co-opted and turned Barr, in the hopes that Barr will do Trump’s bidding? Why would Barr ever turn against his own Deep State cronies?

Does Trump have a plan? With Barr in place, is Trump signaling to his enemies that “I now own the Deep State”? Or is Barr the Deep State’s ultimate and final weapon against Trump, who remains surrounded by Bush/Clinton “swamp creatures” such as National Security Adviser John Bolton, who is one of Barr’s many fellow Iran-Contra co-conspirators, Vice President Mike Pence (who is in ideal position for a coup against Trump, and remains very cozy with the Clintons, dozens of Obama appointees that remain in place, and Republican “Never Trumpers”, all of whom continue to undermine Trump.

Just a little background that is lacking in his run for the head chair of the DOJ…..interesting that very little of this has come out in the hearings….the questioners had an agenda and they blotted out all other concerns.

This person should NOT be allowed to control the DOJ it will be a mistake.  (Personal opinion)

Finally!

After 200 tries the Congress finally has made lynching a federal crime…..and about damn time!

After around 200 failed attempts over at least 100 years, a bill to make lynching a federal crime has finally passed the Senate. The bipartisan bill, which was introduced in July, passed the Senate unanimously on Wednesday, the Hill reports. It was sponsored by Sens. Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, and Tim Scott—three of the 10 African-American senators in US history. The bill defines lynching as “willfully, acting as part of any collection of people, assembled for the purpose and with the intention of . . . [causing] death to any person” and makes it a hate crime punishable by up to life in prison, the Washington Post reports. The bill also criminalizes attempts to lynch and conspiracy to lynch.

The NAACP says at least 3,446 black people were among more than 4,700 people lynched between 1882 and 1968, mostly in the South. “This has been a long arc, a painful history, and a shameful history in this body,” Booker, said on the Senate floor. “At the height of lynchings across this country affecting thousands of people, this body did not act to make that a federal crime.” Harris described lynching as “a dark and despicable aspect of our nation’s history.” It’s not clear whether the House will pass the bill and send it to President Trump before the Christmas holiday, the AP reports. (Last year, a Mississippi lawmaker called for lynchings as Confederate statues came down.)

“The wheels of government move slowly”….not a more accurate statement has ever been uttered.

By now we all know that Our Dear Supreme Leader has fired AG Jeff Sessions after belittling him for almost a year he waited to the results were in of the Midterms and he felt he had to act to cover his ass (the “HE” here is in reference to Trump….so there is NO confusion)…..

News has come out the Sessions is so depressed about losing his cushy gig that he has attempted suicide……

Following months of bruising criticism from Democrats and President Trump alike, an inconsolable Jeff Sessions was reportedly trying to commit suicide Thursday by smoking a joint. “I swore I’d never take the coward’s way out, but what choice do I have?” said a teary-eyed Sessions, carefully laying a sealed envelope containing his farewell note on a tool bench in his garage as he raised a lighter to the marijuana cigarette with trembling hands. “This is it. I’ve taken four puffs to make sure there’s no chance of survival. It should only be a matter of minutes now. Oh, what a wretched, ignominious ending. Goodbye, cruel world, I’m sorry I’ve failed you so.” At press time, Sessions reportedly realized he had died after being overcome by a euphoric, floating feeling.

The ink is barely dry from all the analysis of the midterms….and the blood is already flowing from the Trump White House….could we be seeing the modern update of the “Saturday Night Massacre”?

Jeff Sessions is out as attorney general, report CNN and the AP. President Trump reportedly asked him to resign Wednesday, and Sessions’ resignation letter has been delivered to White House chief of staff John Kelly. “At your request, I am submitting my resignation,” Sessions wrote in the letter, which was obtained by ABC News. “Since the day I was honored to be sworn in as Attorney General of the United States, I came to work at the Department of Jusitce every day determined to do my duty and serve my country. I have done so to the best of my ability, working to support the fundamental legal processes that are the foundation of justice.”

“We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States. He will serve our Country well,” Trump announced on Twitter, adding, “We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well! A permanent replacement will be nominated at a later date.” (Trump hedged when asked about Sessions earlier Wednesday.)

AG Sessions was fired!

Trump is started to try and bring the investigations to an end before it is too late…….

Keep an eye on Don Jr…..I feel he is in the cross hairs…..soon to be rattling the gates of jail.

What Happened To States Rights?

A mainstay of conservatism has been states rights…..when dealing with abortion, voting and now a days it is all about the marijuana…..a huge cash crop for states and now the DOJ is flexing its muscle…..

The AP on Thursday morning reported Attorney General Jeff Sessions was going to go after legalized marijuana, and so it came to pass. Sessions says he is rescinding a policy instituted under President Obama that had allowed legalized marijuana to flourish in six states, with more considering the move. While the drug is illegal at the federal level, Politico reports the Obama-era guidelines “effectively limited prosecutions” of entities who sold pot in accordance with their own state law. As for whether those prosecutions will now surge, who knows? “I can’t sit here and say whether it will or will not lead to more marijuana prosecutions,” one Justice Department official tells Politico, which notes the announcement seemed to be “deliberately vague” about its own impact. In a memo, Sessions noted that federal prosecutors should decide on their own whether to devote resources to marijuana cases based on other demands in their districts, per the AP. Sessions crapping on states rights could drive the US Congress to take up the marijuana issue….until then Sessions will stomp on a conservative pillar….will this become the new conservatism for the 21st century?

The Future Of Justice

AS we draw closer to the end of the year the situation here in the US has gone from bad to worse.  I am not talking about society as a whole although for some this year has been long and unproductive but not for the news.

Our president and all his men have given the MSM a well spring of info to cover.  All of society is being impacted by this past election….some are making out like bandits while some are not doing so well.

But for this post I want to talk about the future of justice in this country…..not an indictment of the president’s person.

Everyone by now has heard and formed their opinion about the investigation that is all the rage right now.  We have an investigation into the actions of the president and some of his people.  Of course all seem to think there is nothing to see.

The rhetoric has picked up first they tried to discredit the lead man of the investigation and now the Trump loyalist are trying to bring the FBI down for their investigation basically the FBI and the technique of deciding guilt.

Let me stop here and inject…..at this point whether the president colluded or anything is of no matter.  This is about what this is doing to the FBI.

The FBI is not high on my list but they are the agency that is tasked to make sure that the rule of law prevails….after all it is a a pillar of our republic.

Trumpians is calling the FBI as partisan and ineffective and in tatters whatever that means (Trump’s observation not mine)….all these accusations are doing damage to the reputation of the FBI that will take years to repair, if ever.

What happens down the road when evidence acquired by the FBI is presented in trial?  Will this effect the views of a a judge?  How many felons could go free when the evidence is provided is questioned thanks to all the doubt brought into the courtroom?

If this hatchet job is successful then I ask….what will justice look like?

Rudy To The Rescue

Everybody is waiting on bated breath to see how the struggle of the AG will turn out……more than that they are waiting to see if Mueller can be fired or will he be fired……

Sessions is probably not long for the Trump admin…….it is only a matter of time….

When he, Sessions, is given his walking papers who will be the magic man that will be tapped to do the dirty deed for Trump….fire Mueller?

Many many people are being floated as possible replacements…..but the one I like is a long time Trump boot licker….Sir Rudy of Gotham……

First, President Trump told the New York Times that he regretted making Jeff Sessions his attorney general because of Sessions’ decision to recuse himself from the Russian investigation. On Monday, Trump piled on, referring to Sessions as “beleaguered” in a tweet. “So why aren’t the Committees and investigators, and of course our beleaguered A.G., looking into Crooked Hillarys crimes & Russia relations?” he wrote. The insult is “remarkable,” observes a post by Andrew Prokop at Vox, and it might suggest that Trump is signaling he wants Sessions to resign so he doesn’t have to fire him. Amid all this palace intrigue, meanwhile, comes a report from the respected Mike Allen at Axios that Trump is considering replacing Sessions with Rudy Giuliani.

The report, based on anonymous West Wing sources, says Trump has been floating the idea among his inner circle. But Allen adds that the president often “muses about possible personnel moves that he never makes, sometimes just to gauge the listener’s reaction.” At New York, Benjamin Hart notes that Sessions was not only one of Trump’s earliest backers but has been one of his most aggressive advocates in terms ofpolicy while in office. He seems to have failed the loyalty test, however, something that Giuliani routinely aces. So might the former New York City mayor truly end up running the Justice Department? “Stranger things have happened,” writes Hart.

A Mueller Conspiracy

We, the public, have been bombarded by the Russian affair…..some think there is something nefarious while others think there is nothing to see so move on….

I want to go into this “Special Prosecutor” thing…..

As most everyone knows Mueller is looking into the Trump connection to Russia…….or if there is one….everything was okay until there is word that Mueller will look into the financial status of Trump and his minions…..then everything became about trying to get around Mueller even the possibility of firing him.

The problem is that only the DoJ can do the deed…since Sessions has recused himself…he cannot do it…then it will fall to his second and since he is the person that appointed Mueller then he is out of the equation.

So what is the prez to do?

If he wants Mueller fired then he will have to get around Sessions and his second…fire them would be the easiest and install a more supportive lackey as AG.

Sessions seem to be in the sights of Trump after his interview and the stuff he said about Sessions…..(written about here on IST)…..

And now there seems to be another memo about Sessions talking with the Russians in favor of the campaign…..personally I think this one has appeared a little to convenient with the stuff about Sessions making its way around the web.

Jeff Sessions has insisted his meetings with the Russian ambassador during the 2016 presidential campaign had nothing to do with the campaign—but the ambassador is saying otherwise. Sergey Kislyak told his superiors that during two conversations with Sessions, who was a senator at the time and also serving as a foreign policy adviser to then-candidate Donald Trump, the men discussed issues relating to the campaign, current and former US officials tell the Washington Post. Kislyak’s descriptions of the conversations were intercepted by US intelligence agencies, and the officials who spoke to the Post acknowledged that it’s not clear how reliable Kislyak’s accounts of the conversations are, but that he is known for relaying accurate information to the Kremlin.

One former official says Sessions—who, as attorney general, recused himself from the probe of Russian interference into the US election after initially failing to disclose his meetings with Kislyak during his confirmation hearing—appears to have had “substantive” discussions with Kislyak regarding Trump’s positions on issues of consequence to Russia. Another official says that based on the information from Kislyak, Sessions has apparently given “misleading” information about what they discussed that is “contradicted by other evidence.” A Justice Department spokesperson responded by again stating that Sessions never discussed interference in the election with the ambassador. Experts tell the Atlantic the new information could make Sessions himself a subject of the Russia probe.

Looks like Sessions is being set up….at least to me.

But where would they find a leader for DoJ if they eventually fire Sessions and his second?

Look no further than the “The Mooch”…..Trump’s new Comm Director…..

It’s been nearly two months since Mike Dubke left the Trump administration, and his communications director role has remained empty since. That’s apparently about to change. Four sources said to be “in and close to the White House” confirm to NBC News an earlier report by Axios that Wall Street financier Anthony Scaramucci—”Mooch” to those close to him—is set to be named as Dubke’s replacement. The announcement could come Friday. A source tells NBC Scaramucci was at the White House Thursday, where he met with Trump and Ivanka Trump and was offered the job. That source adds Trump has long known Scaramucci, 53, who stumped for Trump during the campaign and has been “a good advocate for the president.” He also defended Donald Trump Jr. on Twitter regarding the latter’s June 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer.

Still, NBC notes Scaramucci wasn’t initially Team Trump: He first lent his support to Scott Walker, then Jeb Bush in the primaries portion of the presidential campaign. Scaramucci was appointed by Trump last month to a position with the Export-Import Bank, a position he’ll vacate if the comm director one becomes official. One White House insider who was apparently thrown by the news of Scaramucci’s impending appointment: chief of staff Reince Priebus, who Axios says found out about his potential new colleague only after the decision had been made. Meanwhile, press secretary Sean Spicer, who’s been taking care of Dubke’s responsibilities since he left, is expected to remain on staff, but it’s “unclear” exactly what he’ll be doing, Axios notes.

Since he went to Harvard School of Law he has some knowledge and since he is a Trump ass kisser and will do what he is told…he is the perfect person to lead DoJ and fire Mueller….

If this happens we will see just how weak this republic is for all the Congress can do is issue a strong protest and if that is ignored what is left for them…impeachment?

I do not see any GOPer with the guts to go along with that….how about you?

Also keep in mind that impeachment has been carried out 3 times…..and 2 of them stayed in office afterwards….so all this right wing boo-hoo is a bit premature.
