The Day The Music Died

Sorry but this is not about that famous 70s song that everyone was humming for months.  Nope this is about the music chosen for the DC 250th celebration party.

America’s semiquincentennial party won’t reach all the way back for entertainment, but the celebration will put 1990s throwbacks on the National Mall stage. Organizers of the 250th birthday event on Wednesday unveiled the first slate of acts for the Great American State Fair, a 16-day, World’s Fair-style event scheduled for June 25-July 10 on the Mall between 4th and 14th streets NW, WUSA reports. Headlining June 26: an “I Love the ’90s” bill featuring C+C Music Factory, Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, and Young MC—acts behind hits like “Gonna Make You Sweat,” “Ice Ice Baby,” “Girl You Know It’s True,” and “Bust a Move.”

Country star Martina McBride is scheduled to be the opening act on June 25, with the Commodores and Morris Day and the Time playing on June 27, Flo Rida on July 2, and Bret Michaels on July 3. Mainstage shows are planned for Thursday through Saturday nights, with more performers to be named. Beyond the concerts, the fair will offer military band performances, film screenings, a 110-foot Ferris wheel, the refurbished Smithsonian carousel, robotics and autonomous vehicle demos, augmented reality features, and state and territory exhibits. Admission will be free, with organizers encouraging advance registration but allowing walk-ups. Freedom 250 CEO Keith Krach in a statement called the event “a moment for America to come together,” per the Hill.

Apparently this is the best Donny can do these days….A Listers would prefer not to be associated with the tacky showmanship of Donny and the gang.

I can hardly wait for the CD with the Trump logo (that is sarcasm).

But I do think that Milli Vanilli and Vanilla Ice are perfect for a Donny show….

I am sorry that this nation must endure the manure-like show of a failed prez and a political clown.

We will see who else hires on for this debacle known as the Donny State Fair.

Threaten Another Ally

Our Little Donny is good at only one thing….threatening allies to get his way.  With the Iran thing not going as well as he lied about he now has something to say to Oman…..the nation on the other side of the Strait of Hormuz.

President Trump on Wednesday said the US would “blow up” the country of Oman if it doesn’t “behave,” a threat made when asked if he would accept a short-term deal that involved Iran and Oman jointly controlling the Strait of Hormuz.

“No, the strait’s got to be opened to everybody, it’s international waters. Nobody’s going to control it. We’ll watch over it, but nobody’s going to control it. That’s part of the negotiation,” Trump told reporters while hosting a cabinet meeting at the White House.

“Oman will behave just like everybody else, or we’ll have to blow them up. They understand that they’ll be fine,” the president added.

Iranian media reported last month that Iran’s initial proposal to end the war with the US involved charging a fee for ships transiting the strait, with the revenue split between Iran and Oman, which both have coasts along the waterway, and Iranian officials have held talks with their Omani counterparts on the issue.

Initially described as a “toll,” the issue is now being framed in different terms. “There is no toll. We need to pay attention to the words we use. We’re not after money. Iran and Oman need to create protocols for the safe passage of ships, and this will be based on international laws,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said this week.

“It’s only natural that the services we provide, like navigation and the preservation of the ecosystem of the Strait, the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will have costs. These should not be considered tolls. Iran and Oman are being responsible in our efforts and I hope we will reach a conclusion soon,” Baghaei added.

Iran is unlikely to back down on the issues in its negotiations with the US as it seeks the funds to pay for reconstruction after the US-Israeli bombing campaign.

We are celebrating our 250th year of existence and Uncle Donny has the perfect event that will explain his administration to the nation and the world.

The White House South Lawn is getting a temporary makeover, the BBC reports. Construction is underway on an octagonal wire-mesh UFC cage and temporary arena outside the White House, ahead of a June 14 fight card marking 250 years of American independence that President Trump has billed as UFC’s “biggest event” yet. (June 14 is also Trump’s 80th birthday, the New York Times reports.)

UFC Freedom 250, as the event is called, will feature two title bouts: Brazil’s Alex Pereira vs. France’s Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight belt and Georgia’s Ilia Topuria vs. interim champ Justin Gaethje at lightweight. UFC president Dana White says about 4,300 people—largely military personnel—will watch on the lawn, while as many as 100,000 people will be allowed to watch the fight for free at the nearby White House Ellipse grounds. Ringside, there will be a full marching band providing music, the Guardian reports.

There will be no public ticket sales, though VIP “high roller” special access packages are reportedly being offered to some for $1.5 million. Parent company TKO Group says the UFC won’t profit and is treating the spectacle as a long-term investment. It will be the first professional sporting event staged on White House grounds and comes amid a series of Trump-era renovations, including added gold accents in the Oval Office, a new patio over the former rose garden, a refurbished Lincoln Bedroom bath, and a rebuilt East Wing to accommodate Trump’s new ballroom. The president is also planning an IndyCar street circuit racing event in August that will go past the US Capitol, Washington Monument, and other iconic sites.

We Shall Return

That is the thinking now that we have once again returned to the Moon with our latest by-pass….and now we have a plan to return in force to the Moon in all it’s glory.

NASA doesn’t just want to go back to the moon—it wants to move in, ABC News reports. The agency on Tuesday sketched out how it plans to turn brief Apollo-style visits into the beginnings of a permanent outpost, with crewed landings targeted for 2028 and a three-phase “Moon Base” effort running through at least 2032. Administrator Jared Isaacman called the push “extremely challenging,” noting that humans have logged only about 80 hours of moonwalks, all more than 50 years ago. Surface temperatures can swing from above 250 degrees Fahrenheit in sunlight to below -250 in darkness, and there’s no atmosphere to blunt radiation, meteorites, or weather.

NASA’s three-step plan starts with what officials describe as a proof-of-concept era. Phase 1, already underway and scheduled through 2029, is meant to show that the technology works and that commercial partners can reliably deliver cargo and hardware. NASA expects roughly 25 launches and 21 landings in this stage, sending about 4 metric tons of equipment to the lunar surface while it tests “the science of survival” needed for later infrastructure and, eventually, long-term habitation. Phase 2 will involve assembling semi-permanent habitation facilities on the lunar surface, NBC News reports. Phase 3, starting in 2032, aims to see sustained human presence on the moon. Ultimately, one goal is to build a foundation for a future expedition to Mars, CBS News reports.

Private companies are central to almost every piece. Blue Origin’s Blue Moon Mark 1 lander is slated to carry scientific gear to the lunar South Pole as early as fall 2026. Astrobotic is building another lander to haul more than 1,100 pounds of cargo, while a third 2026 mission will fly instruments chosen under NASA’s lunar research initiative, along with payloads from Europe and South Korea. Astrolab and Lunar Outpost won $439 million to develop lunar terrain vehicles that can carry two astronauts at up to 9mph or drive themselves; Blue Origin will deliver the rovers under a contract worth up to $280 million. A separate “Moonfall” mission, contracted to Firefly Aerospace for launch around 2028, will send four drones to scout resources, landing zones, and the outline of a future base site.

I have made my thoughts known on many occasions…..every time these greedy slug bring up the Moon….in case you are unfamiliar with my thinking….

From Debs To The DSA

As we count down to our next election and then the next general we should start looking beyond the silliness that is this two party system that has actually given this country nothing but grief.

Just have to throw some light on the Left in this country from late 19th century and into the 20th….yes it is a boring history lesson but a lesson that should be taught and learned….there is so much we can do as Americans and we need to be reminded of our strenth and power.

Eugene Debs….a tireless fighter for worker rights and unions….jailed several times for his work and even ran for president from prison….actually he ran for president 5 times starting in 1904 through 1920 and each time he got over 3% of the vote.  He was a tireless antiwar spokeman which got him arrested again for his opposition to American involvement in WW1….his voice lead the way for countless others, like myself, to see the problems and protest for a better nation.

Much of U.S. political commentary today oozes with pessimism: red-blue tribalism, the government shutdown, the alt-right … the list of fracture points is long. But for revolutionary socialists—those of us who believe an equitable world is possible if working people rise up and end capitalism—the picture is not all bad. A historic strike wave of teachers rolled across many regions of the country last spring, followed by the recent L.A. teachers’ revolt. Class struggle remains on the agenda, and many want an alternative to capitalism.

Given the increased interest in socialism, it’s worth defining the S-word: Does it refer to European Social Democracy (a la Sweden), the early Soviet Union, Cuba or something else entirely? Many people believe that socialism is foreign to the United States, a view that only reinforces the bourgeois status quo. In reality, socialist politics has a rich tradition in the U.S. and has influenced, as well as led, a variety of social movements. Today’s generation of radicals have the challenge of rescuing the best elements of the American socialist tradition from oblivion so we can effectively learn from the past and prepare for tomorrow.

When Bernie Sanders identified himself as a democratic socialist, Google searches for “socialism” spiked. Millions want to understand the legacy of socialist politics—what was achieved and what failed. In the United States, the Democratic Socialists of America has become the greatest beneficiary of renewed interest in socialism, with membership surging beyond 50,000. As a multitendency organization, the DSA has certain commonalities with the old U.S. Socialist Party (SP), the first anticapitalist party with real influence on American soil.

Most radicals today recognize the important achievements of the SP in the first decades of the 20th century. It led historic strikes, elected hundreds of its members to local and national offices and developed an array of newspapers—in a word, it made socialism relevant to American workers. That Eugene V. Debs, the SP’s most notable public figure, gained about a million votes for president while sitting in a jail cell for opposing World War I is proof positive that the Socialist Party is worth learning from.

The argument will be that the US is not going to embrace socialism…..and that is true only because of the distorted visions that the centrist want to present as facts.

Eighty-four percent of independent voters told pollsters last fall that “the United States is in a political crisis.” Democrats and Republicans flip back and forth on these kinds of questions depending on which team won the most recent election. But unaffiliated voters, the largest part of the electorate, are deeply concerned in ways that can’t be soothed by the next swing of the pendulum. Indeed, each “vibe shift” further convinces them that the system is see-sawing out of control.

Last Week At The Sh*t Show–24May26

It has been an interesting week….starting with Donny’s lame idea of a prayer rally on last Sunday.

The big deal was Donny’s religious fervor rally….a rally that few attended and even Donny did not show up….

Practically no one attended Donald Trump’s eight-hour religious program Sunday on Washington’s National Mall.

Even the president—or his cabinet members—couldn’t be bothered to show up to Rededicate 250, which was billed as a “national jubilee of prayer, praise and thanksgiving.” A smattering of people attended the outdoor event, held during 90-degree weather and high humidity in the nation’s capital, to hear Trump’s glitchy, prerecorded message about God. Trump, meanwhile, was at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia.

Gabbard, DNI, is taking a powder…..

Another Cabinet member is leaving: Tulsi Gabbard is stepping down as the nation’s top intelligence official, reports the Wall Street Journal and Fox News. In a letter to Trump on Friday, Gabbard cited her husband’s fight with a rare bone cancer. “I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle,” she wrote. Her last day is June 30.

Gabbard, who has led the Office of the Director of National Intelligence for about 18 months, thanked Trump for the opportunity and pledged a “smooth and thorough transition.” The Journal notes that while her departure comes amid war with Iran, the former Democratic congresswoman wasn’t closely involved in the decision-making for the conflict. Still, NBC News notes that she doesn’t appear to have been forced from her position, as was the case with former Attorney General Pam Bondi and former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

They are revving up the rhetoric against Cuba so look for something to break on the front.

Donny’s press secretary is just as nuts as the rest of his entourage….

Caroline Leavitt has taken to social media to share an unusual message about Satan, as she enjoys her maternity leave.

Taking to Instagram on May 17, Leavitt, 28, posted a screenshot from Google to her Instagram Story, which read, “2 Corinthians 4:4 states that ‘the god of this age’ Satan has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God.”

Continuing, the screenshot further said, “This means spiritual darkness prevents people from understanding God’s truth until their hearts are opened.” This comes as Karoline Leavitt praised Margo Martin on Instagram.

FBI Director has personalized bourbon bottles (go figure)….

The ninth man to lead the FBI is putting a very personal stamp on the job—right down to engraved bourbon bottles that read “Kash Patel FBI Director.” In the Atlantic, investigative reporter Sarah Fitzpatrick details how Patel has been handing out personalized Woodford Reserve bottles, complete with an FBI-style shield, an eagle, and his trademark “Ka$h,” to bureau employees and civilians alike. Current and former FBI and Justice Department officials tell Fitzpatrick the bottles are sometimes ferried on DOJ planes and have turned up at official events, including Quantico training and a trip to the Milan Olympics

The FBI doesn’t deny the bottles exist and says they’re part of a long-standing gift tradition, paid for by Patel and in line with ethics rules—claims it did not substantively document, per Fitzpatrick. Marjorie Taylor Greene has openly warned of a political revolution in the United States if President Donald Trump decides to send American soldiers into Iran. The warning came on May 18, 2026, and it signals a serious split within the MAGA movement as tensions over the Iran conflict continue to grow.

The situation heated up on a Sunday afternoon when Greene posted on X to make her position clear. She wrote, “If you send in U.S. military troops into Iran, there is going to be a political revolution in America. WE. ARE. DONE. We said no more foreign wars and we meant it.” She also added, “The coalition will unite and be unstoppable. I’ll make sure of it,” and followed it up with, “End this war. It’s stupid.”

Two right-wing figures — Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes — have been named by the White House as possible domestic terrorists, according to the Trump administration’s top counterterrorism official.

Sebastian Gorka, himself a former right-wing influencer turned National Security Council principal, has been making his rounds on conservative media, explaining the meaning and purpose behind the President’s new National Counterterrorism Strategy (which I reported on previously).

Between grandiose monologues about his vision of a crusade to save Western civilization from “anti-American” and “anti-Christian” extremism, Gorka let slip that the administration’s war on “domestic terrorism” isn’t just aimed at the left. It targets anyone who isn’t in line with the broader MAGA agenda. While Trump’s national security directive NSPM-7 explicitly singles out the left with its list of so-called terrorism indicators, many of them could describe people on the right as well.

Now there is a fund to compensate Jan.6 rioters for their treatment….

Less than a week after the Justice Department announced a $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” to compensate those who allege they were wrongly targeted under the Biden administration, Jan. 6 defendants and allies of President Donald Trump are lining up to seek their share of the unprecedented compensation fund.

Sitting in his car outside a campaign event in Minnesota as he runs for governor, My Pillow CEO and Trump ally Mike Lindell told ABC News he hopes his company employees receive millions from the fund for what he believes is the weaponization of the Biden administration against him for his actions after the 2020 election.

Lindell — one of the leading proponents of 2020 election fraud claims — told ABC News that third-party auditors estimate his company and employees lost $400 million for the election-related lawsuits and government investigations that followed the election. While Lindell said he personally does not expect to get any money from the fund, he said he hopes his employees — who own a stake of My Pillow — can apply for compensation.

We Are ‘Domestic Terrorists’

Do you actively criticize or protest Donny and his merry band of crooks?

If so you may be labeled a domestic terrorist…..Donny and the Hand Job Gang has defined it as….

The brainchild of National Security Council official Sebastian Gorka, the “Counterterrorism Strategy” weaves together Trump’s war on the wider world — which stretches from interventions and wars in Yemen and Iran to Nigeria and Somalia to Venezuela and the Caribbean Sea — with the administration’s war on dissent at home, which has targeted immigrants, legal observers, activists, protesters, and the press.

…

Now, according to the Trump administration, the nation is battling three major types of terror groups: “Legacy Islamist Terrorists,” the long-standing focus of America’s counter-terror efforts; “Narcoterrorists and Transnational Gangs”; and “Violent Left-Wing Extremists, including Anarchists and Anti-Fascists.”

This last group is defined in the document as people the administration deems to be “anti-American, radically pro-transgender, and anarchist.” This puts antifa — a fictional foe that is actually a collection of ideas and not an organization — on par with actual terrorist groups like Al Qaeda and the Islamic State group, and drug-trafficking syndicates such as the Sinaloa Cartel and Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

How Trump’s New Counterterrorism Strategy Puts You at Risk

I will not deny that I think that Donny and The Slugs are a cancer on our society and the sooner we can eliminate the tumor the sooner we can rebuild this once great country….

So since I am a big mouth opponent am I worried that they will come get me while I sleep?

I will lose little sleep worrying about that….but will they charge me with being a ‘domestic terrorist’?

Unless something changes….there is no federal statute to charge anyone as ‘a domestic terrorist’….you can be charged for a lot of things but a domestic terrorist is not one of them in a legal sense.

Despite officials’ proclivity for the phrase, there is no federal statute to charge someone with domestic terrorism. Federal law does define domestic terrorism—criminal acts “dangerous to human life,” intended to intimidate civilians or influence government policy. But as the FBI noted in a November 2020 memo, “This is a definitional statute, not a charging statute.” The bureau prefers the term domestic violent extremism “because the underlying ideology itself and the advocacy of such beliefs is not prohibited by US law.”

Federal sentencing guidelines already allow for an “enhanced penalty….if the offense involves international or domestic terrorism,” and it’s easy to see its potential for abuse. When leaders of the far-right Proud Boys were convicted for organizing the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, prosecutors alleged the mob violence that day was “no different” than blowing up a building.

U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Kelly disagreed but still felt “the constitutional moment we were in that day is something that is so sensitive that it deserves a significant sentence.” Kelly applied terrorism enhancements and sentenced them each to over a decade in prison. (All participants received a presidential pardon in 2025.)

Over the past 25 years, we’ve learned the government won’t waste an opportunity to increase its power in the name of fighting “terror,” whether at home or abroad. The Trump administration already claims the authority to label people “domestic terrorists” based on such perceived offenses as “anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity.” The FBI cited January 6 as justification to dramatically increase surveillance of American citizens who opposed then-President Joe Biden. We should look skeptically at any further expansion of power that will supposedly fight “terror.”

Someone Please Rescue Our 250th

We are rapidly approach the 250th anniversary of the founding of this country….and to celebrate Donny is making it all about himself and not this great nation.

There has got to be some way to rescue this event from the claws of Donny and his egotistical mind.  A auto race, state fair, BBQ or a UFC match is not the way to commemorate our beginnings.

I was around for the celebration in 1976 and its was the way to celebrate the beginnings of the US of A….it was and will be heads above the silliness the Donny thinks will celebrate our country.

On the 250th anniversary of the United States, some details of the celebrations might seem familiar from the celebrations in 1976 of America’s 200th. People sip from cans decorated with the Liberty Bell and a big round number. Commemorative vehicles drive or fly around with founding documents. Federal dollars and private donations flow toward politicians’ goals. A president directs federal funding toward his pet projects.

A big difference is just how prominent Trump is making himself this time around. It wasn’t always headed this way: Congress created the United States Semiquincentennial Commission in 2016, during the Obama administration. In 2020, Trump created the 1776 Commission—an advisory body committed to propagating whitewashed American history—which Biden disbanded on his first day in office in 2021. Trump reassembled it in 2025, more determined to make the national birthday about him, his followers, and their shared visions of the past. While Richard Nixon sought to leverage bicentennial funds to motivate political support in the 1970s, Trump uses the semiquincentennial moment to promote himself. Trump is even attempting to align a semiquincentennial UFC match with his own 80th birthday.

As historian Marc Stein traces in Bicentennial: A Revolutionary History of the 1970s, a national birthday can launch a much broader, more inclusive, and ambitious national project. Yes, the bicentennial too involved politicians advancing their own aims, and it involved selling things, with a proliferation of commemorative objects. But the events and their backlash also helped promote broader goals. Stein writes of the urban planners who sought to direct bicentennial resources toward remaking cities and revamping tourist destinations. He writes of the contingent of the New Left that hoped to rekindle what they viewed as the radicalism of the founders, and of marginalized communities, who mobilized for a reexamination of American history and for reform in contemporary society. Justice Thomas–Just Another Political Hack

We know the Chief Justice Roberts is a political hack ans now Justice Thomas has opened his mouth and once again proved that he is a hack as well.

I have known he was one for years  and his wife is worse than him….there are so many times he should have recused himself but instead vote to assist the people in the suit.

His latest performance is around the abortion pill….

Justice Clarence Thomas sharply criticized a recent Supreme Court ruling preserving nationwide access to an abortion medication, arguing the drug manufacturers were operating a “criminal enterprise.”

On Thursday (May 14), the Supreme Court voted 7-2 to uphold nationwide access to the abortion pill mifepristone, according to The Guardian.

In October 2025, the state of Louisiana sued the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for allowing mifepristone to be prescribed remotely and mailed to patients, arguing that mailing the medication violated the state’s abortion restrictions and federal law.

This ruling halted a May 1 order from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals that would have significantly restricted nationwide access to mifepristone.

In Thomas’s dissent, he argued that the plaintiffs — Danco Laboratories and GenBioPro, two mifepristone manufacturers — had not shown they would experience irreparable harm if access to the medication remained blocked.

“Applicants are not entitled to a stay of an adverse court order based on lost profits from their criminal enterprise,” Thomas wrote. “They cannot, in any legally relevant sense, be irreparably harmed by a court order that makes it more difficult for them to commit crimes.”

He also pointed to the Comstock Act, passed in 1873, which broadly bans the mailing of anything considered “obscene, lewd or lascivious”, arguing mifepristone fits that description.

Thomas was joined by Justice Samuel Alito, who argued the ruling conflicted with the court’s 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, which gave each state the individual authority to regulate abortion.

In a similar case from 2024, the Supreme Court ruled against a lawsuit filed by The Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine (AHM), a coalition of conservative medical organizations and physicians.

The lawsuit challenged FDA rules allowing expanded access to mifepristone, including mail delivery and telehealth prescriptions.

Restore Religious Myths

As a political historian I find this whole affair a worthless waste of time and an affront to the Constitution and DoI.

Yesterday Donny plans to prayer vigil on the National Mall as part of the 250th celebration it’s aim is to restore religious fervor….

The Trump administration plans to stage a nine-hour prayer event on the National Mall on Sunday that organizers describe as a bid to “rededicate” the US to its Christian foundations. They’re using public money set aside for the nation’s 250th anniversary, the Washington Post reports. Billed as Rededicate 250: National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving, the gathering is being run through Freedom 250, a public-private partnership created by the White House. Although the announcement talks of unity, the program is dominated by Protestant speakers. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and House Speaker Mike Johnson are scheduled to speak. President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are sending recorded messages.

Religious historians say the scope and tone of the event stand out from presidential observances that have typically featured broad, nonsectarian invocations. Of the 15 faith leaders listed as participating, 14 are Christian, including seven evangelical leaders and two Catholics, per USA Today. The only non-Christian religious leader listed is Orthodox Jewish Rabbi Meir Soloveichik. Amanda Tyler of the Baptist group BJC argued that the administration is promoting a false notion of the US as officially Christian and blurring church-state lines. Supporters, including Regent University scholar Mark David Hall, likened the jubilee to a Thanksgiving proclamation and emphasize that participation is voluntary.

The event also will also showcase what organizers call a Freedom Truck, one of six mobile exhibits using material from conservative groups PragerU and Hillsdale College to promote a “pro-American, Judeo-Christian” story of the founding. “This is really an affront to the American religious community,” said the Rev. Paul Raushenbush, CEO of the Interfaith Alliance. “They are using an event like this, which could be the opportunity to showcase the incredible diversity of American religious life, which is so rich and beautiful and powerful … to rewrite American history.” Gates open at 9am, with music, military bands, and speeches continuing until 6pm.

As a political historian I find this whole movement to be utterly ridiculous.

After 250 years of a religious freedom Donny and his worthless christian nationalists are trying to make this country something it was never intended to be.

Those who insist that America was founded as a Christian nation run roughshod over the historical record. They use the words of the Founding Fathers to support Republican jeremiads on the moral decay of American life. If only this country could return to its Christian roots, they say nostalgically, everything would be okay.

And how do they demonstrate that America was founded as a Christian nation? By selectively choosing texts from the writings of the Founders without any effort to explore them in the context of the 18th-century world in which they were written. Just because John Adams and George Washington quoted from the Bible or made reference to God does not mean that they were trying to construct a Christian nation. Granted, the Founding Fathers were the products of a Christian culture, but most of them were never comfortable with the beliefs that defined this culture. Very few of them would qualify for membership in today’s evangelical churches.
