And The Hits Just Keep Coming

After last week’s thriller in the ballot box……DSA has done an excellent job of defining what is wrong and what needs to be done…..and the corporate Dems are freaking and issuing warnings to the voter….

Add Pod Save America co-host and former Obama official Dan Pfeiffer to the list of those warning mainstream Democrats about a surge from the left. On the podcast, the former Obama communications director framed a string of progressive primary wins—from New York to Maine to California—as a “giant warning sign” for the party establishment, reports Mediaite. Candidates from groups on the party’s left flank are outworking and out-maneuvering more traditional candidates, “and if you are someone in the Democratic establishment, you should be deeply concerned about what this says about where the party is, what the standing of the party is, what the ability of the party infrastructure actually is to win elections,” said Pfeiffer. “So this is a big deal.”

The issue continues to generate conversation in political circles:

  • The next big test is Tuesday in Colorado, reports CNN. Melat Kiros, a 29-year-old democratic socialist and attorney, is challenging longtime Democratic Rep. Diana DeGette for a reliably blue seat in Denver. “I think voters have realized that the party and leadership are failing to meet this moment in a meaningful way, and it’s time for leaders who are actually going to be fighting for the interests of working people,” she tells the outlet.
  • Over the weekend, New York City Mayor framed the wins of three democratic socialists in congressional primaries there as a “national message” about how ordinary Americans are getting worn down by higher costs.
  • Last week, 15 House Democratic centrists fired back, issuing a public letter asserting that “we are capitalist, not socialist,” per the New York Times.
  • In his critique, Pfeiffer added that, at this point, an endorsement from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer or House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries might hurt more than help a Democratic candidate.
  • President Trump is rolling out a midterm message for Republicans that “communists” are taking over the Democratic Party, per Axios. He’s going after the likely next mayor of DC, Janeese Lewis George, in particular, notes the Hill.

These warnings are so much crap uttered by the high dollar Dems and their handlers….they are no better than the conservs that keep lying trying to hold off the inevitable.

I say go for it….the Progressives need to take to the party proper and show them for the cowards they are.

Dems Are Looking Confused

This past Tuesday in some primaries especially in NY mainstream Dems were handed their butts….

New York’s primary night delivered a jolt to the Democratic establishment—and a boost to the city’s left flank, the New York Times reports. Brad Lander, a former city comptroller, unseated incumbent Rep. Dan Goldman in a marquee House primary, attacking him from the left and zeroing in on his stance on Israel. In Brooklyn and Queens, state lawmaker Claire Valdez defeated Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso for the seat being vacated by longtime Rep. Nydia Velázquez. And in upper Manhattan and the Bronx, community organizer Darializa Avila Chevalier beat incumbent Rep. Adriano Espaillat, the AP reports. That means New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani swept the primaries in which he logged endorsements: The Democratic Socialist backed Lander, Valdez, and Chevalier, using the primaries as a test of his growing influence and broader left-wing project.

More on the outcome from these primary wins from a blogger I follow, the Secular Jurist….

Democratic Party establishment rocked by socialist earthquake in New York

The old man of Dem strategists, Carville, is butt hurt that progressives are winning elections….

Longtime figure on the right Tucker Carlson no longer wants to be part of the Republican party because of how it’s changing. Now longtime figure on the left James Carville no longer wants to be part of the Democratic party for the same reason. On the podcast Politicon, Carville said it’s time to openly consider splitting the party after three progressive candidates backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist, won House primaries in solidly blue districts on Tuesday, reports Mediaite.

“Lady, I ain’t in the same party as you,” Carville said of union organizer Darializa Avila Chevalier, referencing her past comments that white people should not be in interracial relationships. “I’m sorry. I’m just not. And I actually do think it’s time for Democrats to talk the ‘s’ word: schism. I really do. Everybody’s always said, ‘No, no. We’re a coalition. We’re a big tent. And there’s just some s— I can’t be in the same tent with.” Avila Chevalier unseated Rep. Adriano Espaillat in Tuesday’s primary, while state Rep. Claire Valdez defeated Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, and former New York City comptroller Brad Lander easily beat Rep. Dan Goldman.

“I’m done,” said Carville. “In not in that … political party.” He also referenced Israel, saying that he doesn’t want to be in a party “that denies the right of the state of Israel to exist.” In a separate appearance on NewsNation, Carville suggested the progressives form their own party. “All of these people hate Democrats,” he said. “Why do you want to run as a Democrat? Start your own movement. If it’s such a powerful, sweeping movement that’s got momentum everywhere, then go ahead and be at the head of it. Don’t use the Democratic Party to advance it.”

First of all Carville was never on the Left he has always been a centrist, a big dollar Dem…..second the best thing that could happen to the Dems is he takes a bow and shuts the fuck up….and he has been in Israel’s pocket for decades…time for him to fade away.

It looks like the DNC needs to realize what is happening and adjust their focus……but will they?

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2026/jun/24/socialists-draft-aggressive-new-agenda-democratic-party/

You know the Right will be frothing at the mouth and will inevitably start their bullshit about socialists….personally I am glad to see some progressives getting into the fray with the DNC, a tired dinosaur that needs replacing.

Now if they can just keep up the pressure and win these  damned elections.

BTW, DSA is not a socialists organization….makes good propaganda to say they are socialists but that would be a lie and we know the the Right has mastered lying.

Not to worry I will be explaining the DSA once again so people can keep up and try to dispel the misinformation from the Far Right slugs.

From Utopian Dreams To Zombie Incrementalism

My regulars know that I am not a fan of the Democratic Party or Dems in general.  In my opinion they are nothing more than the other side of the conservative coin.

The only Dems I have any respect for are those that are of a different party but caucus with the Dems….

But what went wrong?

The Democratic Party once imagined itself as the engine of meaningful American transformation. First FDR revamped the relationship between the government and the people, then, in 1944, in his “Second Bill of Rights,” he proposed economic guarantees that would have rewritten the country’s legal and economic foundations. This would have entailed a huge structural change as the role of government would have moved further from a mere defender of freedoms to a guarantor of economic well-being.

Every American was to have the right to a job, the right to housing, the right to medical care, the right to education and the right to protection from economic fear. FDR stated that people in economic need could not fully participate in a democracy and we needed economic reform to ensure everyone had the economic security to participate in democratic governance and move the country in a humane direction.

But the Second Bill of Rights died with Roosevelt, so Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society then attempted to attack poverty, racial segregation/injustice and inequality at their structural roots, closely following many of Roosevelt’s proposals. The Great Society was however, hampered by congressional resistance, the budgetary and political drain of Vietnam and white backlash to civil rights.

There were victories, however: the creation of Medicare and Medicaid, the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, which sent federal funding into public schools serving low‑income children; Head Start; the Voting Rights Act and Civil Rights Act enforcement mechanisms, which dismantled Jim Crow; the Higher Education Act, which opened college access to working‑class students through grants and loans; the creation of public broadcasting; the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities and major environmental laws like the Clean Air and Water Quality Acts.

Yet, despite these victories, we did not see real structural change because the Great Society was only allowed to alter the symptoms of American inequality without changing the underlying power arrangements that produced those symptoms. It expanded services but did not redistribute power and it created programs for the poor but left the economic order that manufactured poverty fully intact. The result was apparent progress without real transformation and reforms that improved lives while leaving the basic mechanisms of injustice standing.

At one time the Dems were considered the “Left”….and in some less informed circles they still refer to them as the Left…but they are far from any representation of a true Left ideology.

Why?

Many years ago they abandoned the class struggle…..the working class.

That tradition began with a sharp diagnosis. Karl Marx argued that capitalism rests on a class relationship in which those who own the means of production extract surplus value from those who own only their labor power. One did not have to accept the inevitability of revolution to accept the centrality of class, and Bernstein did not. He kept the analysis and changed the method, betting that universal suffrage could be turned into economic democracy.

That bet defined what the old left stood for. It was not merely taxing the rich and redistributing the proceeds, the liberal project of John Stuart Mill and later John Maynard Keynes, but democratizing economic decision making itself. The New Deal and the Great Society were humane achievements, yet they were state capitalism for the benefit of the many and left the boardroom intact. The democratic socialist asked a harder question: who decides what gets built, where capital flows, and whose work disappears?

Put most simply, the socialist project was about extending democracy into the economy. We accept that the people should govern the state, that no king or boss may rule a polity by private right. The socialist asked why the same principle stops at the factory gate, why the firm that shapes a person’s waking life should remain a little monarchy exempt from the democratic rule we demand everywhere else.

We need a true Left in this country…..what we have now is just two corrupt parties that are for sale….the people meant absolutely nothing the the Congress as a whole.

We need a Left Party!

That ‘Secret’ Autopsy

The DNC has seen to the exposure of the public in the reasons why they were so beaten in 2024….my thought it is decaying corpse of a political party.

The 2024 election “was a punch to the gut, and people were pissed off,” Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Ken Martin wrote Thursday in a statement accompanying the report’s release. “How, we all asked, could Democrats have lost to Donald Trump again? How did we blow through billions of dollars? And where do we go from here?”

The resulting report paints a bleak picture for Democrats. “We must admit and accept some hard truths about our Party,” it cautions. “Since the high point of the 2008 Obama landslide…the Democratic Party has vacillated between stagnation and retrogression. In doing so, we have lost the confidence we once received from everyday Americans—and election results show it. In the sixteen tumultuous years since that historic election, Democrats have lost ground at every level of government.”

This is actually the first time in more than a decade that Democrats have publicly taken any such introspection.

https://reason.com/2026/05/22/democrats-tried-to-bury-2024-election-autopsy/

The party did not need this ‘autopsy’….The party had the wrong candidates, the wrong issues, and were controlled by special interests….see how hard was that?

Come on let’s be honest…..the Dems were and still are….pathetic….

Well, the much-ballyhooed autopsy on the 2024 election has arrived from Democratic National Committee’s headquarters, and it is a shame it didn’t stay buried in a trashcan in one of their offices deep inside the Beltway, and as far away from real people as possible.

Before moving on just as quickly as I can, from this unmitigated mess of typos, redactions, double-talking and sniping — and better yet, the leadership who allowed it — I want to underline some finer points, and hard-earned lessons we can take from it, and the disastrous 2024 campaign season.

First, given all the unprofessionalism, money-wasting, bickering, and out and out dysfunction in the party, it’s a wonder Kamala Harris didn’t lose by 25 points. It is clear that because of a series of self-inflicted wounds, the Democrats were not ready to do battle during the most important election in U.S. history.

https://www.alternet.org/dem-autopsy/

Now the DNC is scrambling….but it matters not for they will continue to lose….the DNC purged any and all members that had good sound ideas that conflicted with the special interest agents that now dwell within the DNC.

A new election is on the horizon….does anyone see anything that will lead us to believe that the Dems are capable of winning a national election?  So far most of the Dems have done nothing but complain….that will not fly in the next election.

I do not see it….do you?

Time to find a political party that will actually treat you and the rest of us with some sort of respect.

From Debs To The DSA

As we count down to our next election and then the next general we should start looking beyond the silliness that is this two party system that has actually given this country nothing but grief.

Just have to throw some light on the Left in this country from late 19th century and into the 20th….yes it is a boring history lesson but a lesson that should be taught and learned….there is so much we can do as Americans and we need to be reminded of our strenth and power.

Eugene Debs….a tireless fighter for worker rights and unions….jailed several times for his work and even ran for president from prison….actually he ran for president 5 times starting in 1904 through 1920 and each time he got over 3% of the vote.  He was a tireless antiwar spokeman which got him arrested again for his opposition to American involvement in WW1….his voice lead the way for countless others, like myself, to see the problems and protest for a better nation.

Much of U.S. political commentary today oozes with pessimism: red-blue tribalism, the government shutdown, the alt-right … the list of fracture points is long. But for revolutionary socialists—those of us who believe an equitable world is possible if working people rise up and end capitalism—the picture is not all bad. A historic strike wave of teachers rolled across many regions of the country last spring, followed by the recent L.A. teachers’ revolt. Class struggle remains on the agenda, and many want an alternative to capitalism.

Given the increased interest in socialism, it’s worth defining the S-word: Does it refer to European Social Democracy (a la Sweden), the early Soviet Union, Cuba or something else entirely? Many people believe that socialism is foreign to the United States, a view that only reinforces the bourgeois status quo. In reality, socialist politics has a rich tradition in the U.S. and has influenced, as well as led, a variety of social movements. Today’s generation of radicals have the challenge of rescuing the best elements of the American socialist tradition from oblivion so we can effectively learn from the past and prepare for tomorrow.

When Bernie Sanders identified himself as a democratic socialist, Google searches for “socialism” spiked. Millions want to understand the legacy of socialist politics—what was achieved and what failed. In the United States, the Democratic Socialists of America has become the greatest beneficiary of renewed interest in socialism, with membership surging beyond 50,000. As a multitendency organization, the DSA has certain commonalities with the old U.S. Socialist Party (SP), the first anticapitalist party with real influence on American soil.

Most radicals today recognize the important achievements of the SP in the first decades of the 20th century. It led historic strikes, elected hundreds of its members to local and national offices and developed an array of newspapers—in a word, it made socialism relevant to American workers. That Eugene V. Debs, the SP’s most notable public figure, gained about a million votes for president while sitting in a jail cell for opposing World War I is proof positive that the Socialist Party is worth learning from.

https://www.leftvoice.org/from-debs-to-the-dsa-rescuing-americas-revolutionary-tradition/

The argument will be that the US is not going to embrace socialism…..and that is true only because of the distorted visions that the centrist want to present as facts.

Eighty-four percent of independent voters told pollsters last fall that “the United States is in a political crisis.” Democrats and Republicans flip back and forth on these kinds of questions depending on which team won the most recent election. But unaffiliated voters, the largest part of the electorate, are deeply concerned in ways that can’t be soothed by the next swing of the pendulum. Indeed, each “vibe shift” further convinces them that the system is see-sawing out of control.

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5873079-american-dissatisfaction-political-system/

All this leaves open for a new way of politics….but will the American have enough energy to find the alternative?

AS it is today I do not think they will….they are too set ion their ways to change…..but as the society deteriorates all things are possible…..and now is the time to start the search for a better tomorrow.

Will we?

Or will we just pick ‘not the other guy”?

What will it be?

Change or more of the same?

2024 Election Autopsy

NOTE:  Today I get juiced so this will be my only post today as I try to recover from the chemicals…..thanx for understanding.

The DNC has released the autopsy of the 2024 election loss….it has been a secret and held in confidence….why?

Why keep the reasons for their losses from the voter?

My autopsy was wrong candidate, wrong issues and a weak party that bows to special interests…..and now here is what the DNC found….

The Democratic Party’s official postmortem on the 2024 election has finally surfaced, but the DNC is distancing itself from its own document. Released Thursday after months of internal pressure, the draft “autopsy” of Kamala Harris’ failed presidential bid, which can be seen here, is stamped with a disclaimer from the Democratic National Committee saying it “does not meet our standards” and that the party “cannot independently verify” its findings.

  • Prepared by Democratic strategist Paul Rivera and based on hundreds of interviews, the report pins much of the blame on Joe Biden’s White House, arguing it failed to give Kamala Harris the profile and preparation she needed before she became the nominee, the Washington Post reports.
  • “The White House did not position or prepare the Vice President,” it says, suggesting that earlier efforts to elevate her might have boosted Biden’s numbers and left Harris better equipped to lead the ticket.
  • The draft also faults what it calls “denialist” thinking inside the party—arguing that focusing on razor-thin margins instead of deeper problems blocks “real accountability.” The document says Democrats lost key ground with voters in “Middle America,” the South, and rural areas, who it says feel excluded from the party’s agenda. It criticizes a Harris strategy that “wrote off rural America, assuming urban/suburban margins would compensate.”
  • The report also recounts that Trump campaign ads targeting Harris’ positions on transgender issues tested as “very effective,” and that pollsters concluded there was “nothing which would have worked as a response” if she didn’t change her position.
  • Beyond 2024, the autopsy laments that the party has “vacillated between stagnation and retrogression” since Barack Obama’s 2008 win, CNN reports. Since 2008, Democrats have steadily lost power “at every level” due to “missed opportunities to invest in our states, counties, and local parties and candidates.” Democratic candidates, the report says, “have proven incapable of projecting strength, unity, and leadership, and voters have drifted away.”
  • In a lengthy statement, DNC Chair Ken Martin said he’d held it back to avoid reopening old wounds after the 2024 loss, but conceded that the secrecy “ended up creating an even bigger distraction” and apologized.
  • “I am not proud of this product; it does not meet my standards, and it won’t meet your standards,” Martin said. “I don’t endorse what’s in this report, or what’s left out of it. I could not in good faith put the DNC’s stamp of approval on it. But transparency is paramount. So, today I am releasing the report as I received it—in its entirety, unedited and unabridged—with annotations for claims that couldn’t be verified.”
  • Martin said when he received the report last year, it “wasn’t ready for primetime” and “because no source material was provided, fixing it would have meant starting over, from the beginning.” The annotations also flagged numerous factual errors, noting that while it said Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin had “consistently and reliably voted for Democratic candidates” before 2024, all three of those states voted for Trump in 2016.

There you have it!  The autopsy points to areas that the Dems have dropped the ball….and look at today’s party….they are looking for the ball they dropped decades ago.

Do you see a Democrat on the horizon that will project strength, unity and needed leadership?

I do not!

This autopsy was a waste of time…..held in secret and doing nothing to improve their plight….

Critics on Thursday slammed the controversial—and until now secret—Democratic National Committee autopsy of the 2024 election, which completely omitted some of the biggest issues affecting the contest, including President Joe Biden’s decision to seek reelection, the manner in which Vice President Kamala Harris replaced him atop the ticket, and the Gaza genocide.

The 2024 postmortem—which was written by strategist Paul Rivera and ostensibly examines why and how Democrats lost the White House to President Donald Trump and control of Congress to Republicans—was published online Thursday after it was obtained CNN. DNC Chair Ken Martin told CNN that he was “releasing the report as we received it, in its entirety, unedited and unabridged,” for the sake of “full transparency.”

https://www.commondreams.org/news/autopsy-dnc-2676925645

Now if you want to read the report for yourself and not take my word for its worthlessness…then here is you link…..please do not take my word for it….see what you think…..

A lot to take in but you will notice how one sided this document is…it is BS.

The DNC still is not ready for ‘primetime’…..and sorry to say that what they have now is a loser in 2028 unless they come up with a plan and quickly.

Whatcha think?

If At First You Don’t Succeed…..

We are closing in on another general election and the Dems are scrambling looking for a counter to Donny and his MAGA idiots….and they are starting to talk about a failed candidate from the past….Hillary.

Hillary Clinton is headed to New Hampshire, and the trip has one pundit wondering about 2028. “At first glance, the idea of another Clinton run sounds crazy,” writes Peter Lafflin in the Washington Examiner. But he lays out a plausible, if long-shot, scenario. During the trip, the former secretary of state, senator, and first lady will deliver the keynote at the state party’s McIntyre-Shaheen Dinner in late April, a slot historically tied to would-be presidents. “You can bet her allies will be watching closely to see how she is received,” he writes.

Lafflin contends that, despite Clinton’s age—she will be 81 in 2028—and her loss in 2016, she may be more viable than many in a crowded 2028 field: She’s been sharp and combative in recent public outings, has deep party ties, strong support among Black voters, and sky-high name recognition that could translate into early-state pluralities. Laffin sketches a scenario where she rides the “establishment lane” into a showdown with California Gov. Gavin Newsom and a progressive challenger—hardly a sure thing, he admits, but “it isn’t crazy, either.”

Read the full piece.

I shake my head but what does hillary think?

During an appearance at the Munich Security Conference in Germany, Clinton was directly asked if she was “thinking about running again.”

Her answer was immediate. “No. No, I’m not. But I think we’ll have some very good candidates. Some of them were at Munich.”

Those remarks come after senior editor Peter Laffin described her as a “plausible” candidate in the Washington Examiner.

I think that is best we do not need another corporate Dem in office.
Then there is word that Harris is contemplating another try….

Former Vice President Kamala Harris kept the door open on a possible third presidential run, saying that she’s “thinking about it,” eliciting cheers from a majority of the crowd at the National Action Network Convention on Friday.

“Listen, I might, I might. I’m thinking about it, I’m thinking about it,” Harris responded when Rev. Al Sharpton, during their chat at the New York City convention he hosts, flatly asked her if she’s planning to run again.

“I’ve been traveling the country the last year, I’ve been spending a lot of time in the South and many other places, and the one thing I’m really clear about, also, is the status quo is not working, and hasn’t been working for a lot of people for a long time, and part of the issue is the need to get rid of some of the bureaucracy in government and to understand that the people want — they don’t want process, they want progress. And that’s the work that needs to be done,” Harris said.

(abcnews.com)

Once again I say NO!

She failed last time….we need new blood in the the party not a rehash of old tired ideas that have not proven there worth in decades.

This whole idea of anyone but Donny will get us nowhere near the place this country should be.

Anyone have a different take?
