That is the way Donny sees his presidency….that he has the power to do crazy things….and so far it looks like he may be right….
President Trump took some time from his Thursday evening Rose Garden speech to revel in just how much “crazy” power he has.
The president addressed a crowd of American hunters and outdoorsmen, which included billionaire Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris.
“That means you can sell a lot of fishing rods, Johnny. You’re going to sell a lot of rods. I could have made it so you couldn’t sell,” Trump said. “You couldn’t sell anything. I could have banned fishing,” Trump said, referring to his presidential powers.
“I’ll tell you what. The power of this office is crazy. I could have banned fishing and driven Johnny right the hell out of business. OK. I think I’m going to do that. Just maybe just a quick order, just for a day or two, till he calls me and he says, ‘Please, President, please, you’re putting me out of business, sir.’”
His fishing comment was met with disdain and confusion online.
“The Constitution continues to offer impeachment and removal as an option,” The Atlantic’s Conor Friedersdorf wrote.
Others saw it as a chance for Alaska’s Democrat Senate nominee and fisherwoman Mary Peltula to take advantage of yet another Trump gaffe, as “I could have banned fishing” seemed tailor-made for an attack ad with Trump’s face all over it.

After making his statement he goes off on some tangent that no one knows what he is talking about…..just babbling for dollars.
This is not a big deal but what is in his statement that he can do anything with his ‘crazy’ powers….apparently that is true for he has been proving it for almost 2 years now.
Can we eliminate this tool….please.

The main problem with that nonsense he is spouting is that it is all true. He could easily ban all recreational fishing if he chose to do that, so Johnny Morris better stay on his good side.

Pete, it’s absolutely NOT TRUE EXCEPT – if Congress chooses not to enforce the power they have, and just let him do whatever he wants, he will – and destroy our country as he does it

Actually no, he can’t. Basically the feds have no jurisdiction at all over any body of water entirely enclosed inside of a state’s borders except where those waters are within the borders of federally recognized tribal lands, within or adjacent to federally owned lands like national parks, etc. The feds have jurisdiction over fish harvested within state waters but only if transported across state lines, or can institute fishing restrictions only on species protected under the endangered species act.
