In the past we have had information to let the people of this country know when diseases were spreading and since we now have a comnplete idiot in charge of HHS and the lack of importance for keeping the public informed we are facing the next pandemic.
I am sure you have read how measles, whooping cough, etc is gaining the upper hand in our society…..and this could be disastrous for the public.
To accomplish its mission of increasing the health security of the U.S., the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that it “conducts critical science and provides health information” to protect the nation. But since President Trump’s administration assumed power in January, many of the platforms the CDC used to communicate with the public have gone silent, an NPR analysis found.
Many of the CDC’s newsletters have stopped being distributed, workers at the CDC say. Health alerts about disease outbreaks, previously sent to health professionals subscribed to the CDC’s Health Alert Network, haven’t been dispatched since March. The agency’s main social media channels have come under new ownership of the Department of Health and Human Services, emails reviewed by NPR show, and most have gone more than a month without posting their own new content.
“Public health functions best when its experts are allowed to communicate the work that they do in real time, and that’s not happening,” said Kevin Griffis, who served as the director of communications at the CDC until March. “That could put people’s lives at risk.”
Health emergencies have not paused since January. Cases of measles, salmonella, listeria and hepatitis A and C have spread throughout the country. More than 100 million Americans continue to suffer from chronic diseases like diabetes and breast cancer. The decline in the agency’s communication could put people at risk, said four current and former CDC workers, three of whom NPR is allowing to remain anonymous because they are still employed by the CDC and believe they may be punished for speaking out.

As a global health communication scholar studying the effects of media on health and development, I explore artistic and creative ways to make health information more engaging and accessible, empowering people to make informed decisions.
Although there is a fire hose of health-related content online, not all of it is factual. In fact, much of it is inaccurate or misleading, raising a serious health communication problem: Fake health information – whether shared unknowingly and innocently, or deliberately to mislead or cause harm – can be far more captivating than accurate information.
This makes it difficult for people to know which sources to trust and which content is worthy of sharing.
The allure of fake health information
Fake health information can take many forms. For example, it may be misleading content that distorts facts to frame an issue or individual in a certain context. Or it may be based on false connections, where headlines, visuals or captions don’t align with the content. Despite this variation, such content often shares a few common characteristics that make it seem believable and more shareable than facts.
It is time for the attacks on our health to STOP!

I’m not sympathetic of anyone who suffers based on their own stupidity, but when its a highly contagious disease, there is a responsibility for the safety of others – but that is something our new leadership simply doesn’t care about

well, Im finding that doctors are less doctors and more suggestors. Used to be, when you went in for a physical, you were handed a cotton gown and told to take your clothes off. Now they ask you what’s wrong, and suggest that maybe you might have high cholesterol and give you stuff that will fry your brain. Or they just ignore the symptoms, perhaps offering a bandaid for that oozing wound…we are becoming forced to be our own doctors.
Specialization has ruined the profession….they cash big pay outs not healthy patients. chuq
My new doctor is half my age. Ive been to him twice, and told him I had an problem taking Crestor, which is for high cholesterol. So he gave me something else to take, and by the end of the first day it felt like my eyes literally were going to explode. I stopped the pills, and told him about it. He said, maybe you could try again…?
The last doctor I wish I had kept up with took one look at me, told me I had a curvature of the spine (surprise to me), mentioned a few things I had had in the past, and never missed a beat. He was spot on, all the way down the line. THAT’S what doctors are supposed to. Read the patient, not the chart.
I did hear that they are actually (brace yourself) use female dummies and cadavers to teach students in med school about women’s anatormy. That would be a nice change…
I love my doctor she is by far a caring person and listens to everything I say and we work through treatment together…..and the cancer doctors are terrific and caring. chuq

Then there’s the matter of open borders with not only no criminal records checks but also no health screening. That means tuberculosis, HIV and hepatitis and children from third world probably had a very diminished care for shots for childhood diseases. This is not fake conspiracy. Faced this for 34 years in Miami Dade school system.

That’s the BIG question and pricsely the foundation for your legitimate fears and seems open borders promoters don’t care because 2030 census may give them 15 or more in the House of Reps. American kids get blocked from attending school without proof of shots but no barrier for immigrant child school entry. A very unfortune matter is that far too many immigrant children don’t have early childhood medical care and no medical records in home country. Neither do their parents and we have millions of adults without even verifiable birth certificates or true ID docs. So please don’t conclude that I am anti-immigrant. The explosion of pandemic in your post is what I’m worried about. It won’t be RFK’s fault. Open borders destroy US security at all possible concerns and levels. Who will pay for the healthcare. Yes, Medicare and Medicaid. So it won’t be republicans taking Medicaid and Medicare from people. It will be the result of democrat open border policy and the dismissal of normal health protocols.
