TODAY IS FLAG DAY!

AS I travel around I notice that the American flag is being proudly displayed…..and most of the displays are done completely wrong.

I thought since today is Flag Day that I would help the idiots learn the proper way of display…..

It is the universal custom to display the American flag only from sunrise to sunset on buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed twenty-four hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness.

The flag should be hoisted briskly and lowered ceremoniously.

Then there are the DON’Ts…..

May be an image of text that says 'AMERICAN FLAG DON'TS Don't use the flag as clothing drapery. Don't place any mark, letter, number drawing on the flag. Don't let the flag touch the ground. Don't display faded, torn, or tattered flag. Synthetic flags can washed in cold water with mild detergent, while older flags can be hand-washed with Woolite. Flags damaged beyond repair should disposed ofir a dignified manner, such as burning. Don't put your flag away unfolded.'

It is sad that so-called “patriots” need to be schooled all the time in the object that profess to adore.

If you display the flag then for god’s sake display it properly…..or stop pretending.

Did you know that in 1942 the Supreme Court ruled against requiring students to salute the American flag is unconstitutional?
