Part of the deal in the long time between the end of the election cycle and Bernie’s endorsement has been told that he wanted his people on the platform committee….this would insure that the progressive ideas that he championed would be made part of the election rhetoric.
The problem is the DNC platform is a traditional cop-out of the Democrats and shows NO progress whatsoever…..

I think Bernie failed in his attempt to make the platform more progressive……it smacks of neoliberalism.
But how will this play with those voters that supported his candidacy? Could his loss be a blessing in disguise? Something needs to be done to revive the anti-war movement….could this be that moment?

Militarism? I don’t see the searchlights and torchlight parades yet — but there is a screaming ideologue at the podium … I guess it is a start!

Militarism is more about the irresponsible use of our troops than worrying about some worry of a sort of dictatorship that uses parades to lather up the people.
Good technical argument. Can’t disput it! But dictators love to lather up the people with parades and our presidents have been more dictatorial in the last decade than ever before .. and I do not see the promise of a reversal in the trend.

I’m pretty certain there won’t be any changes to any of it until we can figure out how to stop the corporate corruption of politics. That will only happen when it all falls down, as it is showing every sign of doing. In that sense, our entire culture may be described as a self-correcting set of erroneous illusions…. I would say it’s only going to get worse, until the point where it all gets better…. which is most likely same time we become extinct…. or, begin to wish we had….
