Silencing America as It Prepares for War

This election is a carbon copy of all other elections…..promises that we want to hear and then we vote and nothing ever happens….this time we are promised a wall or that the banks will be held accountable…..as usual the voter starts drooling over their candidates promises and votes the loser into office….and then we set about bitching and moaning….and then they do the same thing over again….

This time the voter is voting for more war and more death and destruction…all in the name of some ideal that is neither wanted or ideal.

Sit back and read this piece with a bit of historical perspective…there is more going on with this election than you can possibly know…..look back and see what was and what will be…..simply because you are too f*cking lazy to do the research before you vote.

Returning to the United States in an election year, I am struck by the silence. I have covered four presidential campaigns, starting with 1968; I was with Robert Kennedy when he was shot and I saw his assassin, preparing to kill him. It was a baptism in the American way, along with the salivating violence of the Chicago police at the Democratic Party’s rigged convention. The great counter revolution had begun.

The first to be assassinated that year, Martin Luther King, had dared link the suffering of African-Americans and the people of Vietnam. When Janis Joplin sang, “Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose”, she spoke perhaps unconsciously for millions of America’s victims in faraway places.

“You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can only make a monkey out of the voters every four years!”

Have you ordered your bananas yet?

  1. This narrative is on constant repeat. Instead of just writing about it … get involved! In this election year there is a transformative option: @DrJillStein | http://www.Jill2016.com She actually does believe in putting People, Planet and Peace over Profit. And, her My Power to the People Plan is thorough, realistic and completely sustainable. The issue is the citizens of America are not being informed that they do have another choice. The reason: very little media coverage. SHAMEFUL!

    1. I agree and I am looking at Stein and the Green Party….but I will have to reserve my support until I have more info.

      1. Same here, chuq. I don’t want to vote for either Hillary or Donald. However, just about everyone I know will go meekly into the voting booth and blindly vote for Hillary.

      2. How much else is there on the ballot? I can’t fathom anything better being there…and that assumes the Greens are on your ballot. I hear they aren’t on the ballot everywhere…which is ridiculous in & of itself.

  2. Good post; I may use the article for part of a rant. It’s an excellent summary, if a bit pedantic. (Fits right into my own style, though, right?) For the most part, his summary is exact, and accurate, from my own experience watching the same history play out in my life.

I don’t much like bananas, and, once it all falls apart, won’t have much chance to get them, anyway. So, I’d suggest learning to make do with whatever is available, for, soon enough, that is ALL there will be…

Look at the big picture, ffolkes. It’s all starting to unravel more quickly, every day…

    gigoid, the dubious

  3. I liked Woody Allen’s Banana’s, which somehow seems even more appropriate than it was then.

America is pretty fucking silent as it is, a nation full of iDiots numbed with distractions and complete irrelevancies. (See “bread & circuses” of the Roman Empire.) Damned drooling sheep. It’s all like taking candy from a baby…a retarded baby.

Shit, only about 50% even bother to vote every 4 years. Most just go through the motions so they can pat themselves on the back and “earn the right to complain”, as they say. However, this is probably the final election where 50% even bother to do that. Sixteen years in a row of “liberal” Democrats ruling like Republican Emperors…I mean, how could you NOT be fatalistic?
