Why ancient Rome kept choosing bizarre and perverted emperors – Vox

How about a departure from my normal writings?  What’s life without whimsy?

My regular readers know that I am a history buff….I enjoy putting historical events into context….that is trying to explain why some things happen and why…….

I am not a huge fan of Rome….they were great builders and such but that is about as far as it goes in my mind,….however they did have some of the most perverted kings as there has ever been…….is there an explanation for this?

  1. Departure from usual, similar topics is always refreshing – to the writer and readers. I love the reference of Nero to Bieber. Priceless. Caligula was something else! No wonder they were all a little (perhaps, a lot) off the beaten path as we know it. Blood certainly had lots to do with the craziness down the line. Very interesting read. Thanks.
