Will Jeb Be The Man?

I recall back in 2000 when GW was battling that Dem guy that was VP (dammit!  I cannot remember his name)…..when it came to GW I was one of those that was saying that the dumber of the two brothers got the call to the presidency…..I truly thought because of his days as governor of Florida that Jeb was the smarter of the two.

After the panic, outrage and stupidity of the religious crap in Indiana ….I have come to the realization that I may have been…..mistaken…….

But why professor?

First FU was when he released a massive amount of emails sent to him as gov of Florida….the problem is that many of them had tons of personal info on them…..which left the people open to all kinds of intrusions into their life…….

After the Indiana law was signed Jeb was quick to be on the bandwagon as a supporter…….he caught total Hell from the media and in the truest since of a politician he tried to walk it back……..

Unfortunately that was not his only for lack of a better term……misstep…..But now he has gone and stepped in that pile of steaming fecal material again……and this time it is a really good one…….

Jeb Bush seems to have erred in filling out his 2009 voter-registration application in Miami-Dade County—specifically in the “Race/Ethnicity” field, which he checked “Hispanic,” the New York Times reports. The Times notes Bush’s deep ties to the Hispanic community—including his Mexican wife, his fluent Spanish, and a two-year stint living in Venezuela—before pointing out his likely “confusion over heritage.” The mystery remains: Per the Times, “a Bush spokeswoman could offer no explanation for the characterization.”

The long he is allowed to continue the more that it appears to me the GW was possibly the smarter of the two…….and that is just flippin’ scary.  If Jeb cannot manage in these early days I think there is NO hope of him being a capable president.  I mean if he gets confused over this ethnic background how reliable will any of his other decisions be at critical times?

Finally!  His name was Al Gore….I knew it would come to mind if I thought about it!

The Path To Wealth

The Easter weekend is over….everyone can go back to being yourself…..and as usual the news was so mundane and tedious that it was not worth a visit……Crapping on Iran deal was everywhere…..and then there was….oh who cares?

Since we are talking about money today……why not go to the biggest capitalist of them all…..Buffet?

We all have had this delusion that one day we would be wealthy and have the world at our feet…….have beautiful women falling throwing themselves at us…….cool cars and travel……….but that was when we were young and stupid.  And now?……………..

We all have heard of Warren Buffet the genius of Wall Street…..his company has been a massive success and he is seen as some sort of financial god…….you will remember the story of a couple of years ago about how as wealthy as he is he pays less tax than his assistant…….and that started a whole movement to lower taxes or at least to make them more equitable…….yes he is a financial wiz…….. but why is he so successful?

Warren Buffett’s image as an avuncular business genius who has all-American interests at heart might take a hit after a scathing investigation by the Seattle Times and the Center for Public Integrity. It alleges that Clayton Homes, a giant in the mobile-home industry owned by Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, is duping poor people into unscrupulous loans. Here’s the main summation:

  • “Buffett’s mobile home empire promises low-income Americans the dream of homeownership. But Clayton relies on predatory sales practices, exorbitant fees, and interest rates that can exceed 15 percent, trapping many buyers in loans they can’t afford and in homes that are almost impossible to sell or refinance.”

The investigation looked at more than 100 sales in 41 states and found a “consistent array of deceptive practices.” For example, Clayton goes by so many names, at least 18, that mobile home customers who think they’re shopping around actually aren’t. It controls virtually every aspect of the deal, from the construction to the real estate sale, to the loan itself, a fact that customers often don’t realize because of those different names. Buyers often encounter exorbitant fees, loan terms that change abruptly, and ruthless collection agents. Spokespersons for Clayton and Berkshire would not be interviewed, but a Clayton statement insists that its “policies, procedures and training are designed to ensure that customers have a choice of lenders,” reports the Omaha World-Herald. Why saving money won’t help the American economy

To continue boring the crap out of my visitors…..I will remain on the economics thing…..sorry must feel it must be said……

Whenever some economists get together they put out a call for more Americans to save so that there will be an increase of investing and that way the economy will get into high gear and we all will benefit……

Not so fast…..that is just a pipe dream sold to those uninformed…….it is at best propaganda ……at worst Bullsh*t!

Robert Reich Demolishes Myth that College Is Gateway to the Middle Class | Alternet

I cover the Middle East quiet extensively…..usually at the expense of other subjects……so today I will focus, as much as possible, on the economy and financial issues…….

Whenever the word education is mentioned there will always be someone that calls it the “gateway to the middle class”……but the question is …..is it really the gateway?
