My Thoughts On The Bigger Race Issue

This will be my only post today……this subject needs to be talked about and seriously……..

We have just celebrated the 50th anniversary of the March On Washington and the legacy of MLK, Jr…….

I have waited a while before posting this……basically I was hoping that I was wrong and something would have been said …..I realize that after I post this there will be some that will label me a racist…..to that I say BITE ME!  No one knows me well enough to make that assertion……

After the verdict in the Martin case we had weeks of everyone yelling about the need to have an honest conversation on race and race relations….on that point there is a need for such a conversation but we will never have it until there is honesty on all sides…..so far we have railing and ranting but the honesty needed is sadly lacking……

My biggest bitch is MSNBC’s Al Sharpton…..for one thing, I do not think that the person who is the head of an activist group should have his/her own show….that gives an unfair advantage that other organizations doing the same work could not have…..I have never been a fan of Sharpton’s and it has nothing to do with the color of his skin….I just think that he will fixate on one side of a question to the exclusion of the other…….

The Martin case…….personally I thought it was a bullshit verdict and the stand your ground law is a piece of crap …..but that aside after the verdict was in there was a mountain of people throwing accusations and innuendos around and all were calling for the nation to have an honest conversation on race in this country.  WE had to revisit every aspect of the crime and the trial and that effort went Nowhere…..after everyone got their say we moved on to the next big deal for the media.

Now we come to the part that is pissing me off.

Oklahoma, USA….three teens gun down a single jogger because they were  bored and want to see what it felt like to kill someone….yes it was 3 blacks gunning down a white……..and I am waiting for Sharpton to come out swinging on this type of violence…..and I am waiting…..

If the Martin case was a case of profiling and a possible hate crime….what is Oklahoma?  To me I do not give a crap about the color of anyone……this type of violence is as prevalent as the Martin type….but yet Sharpton and his cronies  has moved on to something else……..

If we want to have this truly honest conversation then we need to look and talk about all aspects of the violence……and until we talk about all these aspects then there will be NO honest talk on race…….to ignore one aspect of violence and emphasize another is not honest and is not ever going to be helpful.  We need to stop talking about the race of people involved in whatever disgusting piece of violence they have committed…….most people today are disingenuous for they all talk about the race to the perpetrator…..the act is the disgusting part…..the race is nothing !  There are many issues that can be broken down by race but violence knows NO color and to have an honest conversation, the one that so many are calling for will never arrive as long as we blame the race for the action of the person.

Until all sides have an honest and thorough discussion then they all need to shut the fuck up…..and I will personally ignore anything these twats have to say.  Personally, I think that King would be ashamed of the people that claim to speak for him in today’s world…….he did inspire a generation….a generation that is now more worried on how much cash they can collect than making his dream come true and endure…..ask yourself…..who has the guts that King showed through his life….today it is an ego trip and not an effort to make his dream a reality……..you may try and justify it all you like but there are way too many people making money off Dr. king’s dream.

  1. “yes it was 3 blacks gunning down a white”

Actually I think the the driver of the car, Michael Dewayne Jones, is white Dr. Chuq. At least he appears white in the mug shots the media has presented. But this is less relevant than the point you are trying to make which I agree with. Nothing I have read to this point indicates a racial motivation but the facts of the case and testimony from the defendants have yet to be revealed in order to make a judgment on this.

    1. Larry, right on….we will accomplish nothing as longer it is finger pointing….that dialog will never happen….no amount of yelling but Sharpton or O’Reilly will make it so

    1. FL, always nice to hear from you…..and thanx….like I said to the others…no amount of finger pointing will get us to that honest dialog on race and I think some are in it for the money and not the action….

  3. Reblogged this on AMERICAN LIBERAL TIMES and commented:
My thoughts on this article? My thoughts are that this is an important article and needs to be read – – as widely as possible – – and discussed – – again as widely as possible – – that is my thoughts about it. (Comment by John at AMERICAN LIBERAL TIMES and BLOG LEFT BLOG.)

    1. John, thank you so much for the kind words…..until we stop pointing fingers we will NEVER have this important conversation….

  4. Wow. I tend to agree with you. Seems like it’s okay for some groups to be violent (it’s expected after all) and others not tolerated. I’m not a big Sharpton fan either

  5. I think (for what it’s worth) your piece is pretty good. I disagree with you on the Martin verdict. The ‘stand your ground’ law wasn’t a factor in the verdict at all. It was never mentioned. It was the act of self defense that prevailed in the jury’s mind. Race was never a factor as well. The bottom line is, evidence by both sides were presented and the defense won, despite the ridiculous and libelous actions of the major media, threats to the defense and the defendant, threats of rioting, etc. Race hustlers such as Sharpton and Jackson, spurned on by a very bias media and originally by Mr. Obama by his “if I had a son” statement. As innocent as that statement sounds it clearly fanned the issue of a racial divide.
Anyway, you are right about never having an honest conversation about race. If we did it would expose the above mentioned people, showing they clearly are the racists. I don’t know if you’ve seen this before but it is nearly identical to the Trayvon Martin case … only in reverse. Take a second to look at it. This is why we can never has an “honest conversation” about racism in America.

    1. C&H, we will never have that dialog because we are too busy pointing fingers and playing one-up-manship………You can call Sharpton a race hustler but he is no worse than the Alex Jones’ of the world…it seems as if we are trying to top every race story with one better….this is why I do not post much on race issues….when Americans stop looking at each others skin color then we can have that conversation that so many are looking for…..

      1. I appreciate your participation….please do not hesitate to jump onto nay post that you have an opinion,,,,,,

  6. I just reblogged this, and I never saw it before just now. I am not sure I was following you back in August of 2013, if I was, I missed this. It’s true, factual and raw, just like all your serious post are. I think it’s exactly what it is supposed to be….real.
