What Happened In North Carolina?

This is not a report from the aftermath of Dorian….but rather the second best disaster an election and the media.

A special election was held yesterday in North Carolina and according to the pundits it would be a bellwether in turning NC Blue (wishful thinking).

The last election was riddled with voter fraud so to be fair (Hahaha) a special election was scheduled…….and the Dems dropped millions on this to turn NC Blue…….and yesterday the voter spoke…

Dan Bishop prevailed in the “battle of the Dans” in North Carolina Tuesday, bringing an end to the final race of the 2018 midterms. The Republican state senator narrowly defeated Democratic rival Dan McCready in a special election in the state’s 9th Congressional District, sparing Republicans an embarrassing loss in a district President Trump carried by 12 points in 2016, the New York Times reports. GOP candidate Mark Harris led McCready by 905 votes after last year’s election, but the result was never certified and the state election board ordered a do-over after evidence of ballot tampering involving a Harris operative surfaced. With most ballots counted Tuesday night, Bishop, best known as the author of the state’s controversial “bathroom bill,” was ahead by around 2 percentage points.

Ahead of the election, outside GOP groups poured more than $5 million into the district, which has been Republican since 1963. Trump held a rally for Bishop Monday night. “Dan Bishop was down 17 points 3 weeks ago. He then asked me for help, we changed his strategy together, and he ran a great race,” the president tweeted Tuesday, though the AP notes that the race was long considered too close to call and no publicly released polls showed Bishop 17 points down. Analysts say the narrow result in a GOP stronghold shows that the party might still struggle in next year’s election. CNN reports that in a second North Carolina special election Tuesday, Republican Greg Murphy heavily defeated Democrat Allen Thomas in the 3rd District. The seat became vacant earlier this year with the death of Rep. Walter Jones, Jr., a Republican first elected in 1994.

The MSM lost their chance to use their “data” to influence the outcome……they did not get their story…..now they will begin to explain “what went wrong”….

Let me help…..NOTHING went wrong the vote on three separate occasions have shown the region is Red and it still is so.

STOP!  Explain it the what it is…..old habits, feelings and hatreds prevailed and stop pretending things will change…..NOT in my lifetime.

Voter Fraud Literally Less Likely Than Being Hit By Lightning | Mother Jones

Speaking of voter fraud………

For years now the GOP has been obsessed with voter fraud……every time they lose an election they cry voter fraud…..and now that they control so many states they are trying desperately to rig the election process in their favor……but really…..just how rampant is voter fraud?

Glad you asked!

Florida Replaces Gerrymandered Congressional Maps With Nearly Identical Gerrymandered Maps | ThinkProgress

Ever have one of those days where the chaos around you keeps you from focusing?  That is my day!

Today I am pressing articles that I have found and well I am too lazy to turn them into a post (honesty)…..there has been a wealth of accusations of the different GOP organizations that are trying to pick their voters and gerrymandering has been one of the tools used to gain unfair advantage at the polls……

Florida was recently told to redraw their maps….and this is what they came up with in their attempt….

And the courts in Florida accepted the re-draw…….go figure.

Could Mississippi Be In Play?

I see that NO one is really interested in the goings on in the state of Mississippi–I thought they might find something of interest…..I was gravely mistaken…..one last test of your boring reflex and I shall move on…….

In my long and somewhat illustrious life (HA HA) there have been only 5 US senators……Stennis, Eastland, Lott, Cochran and now Wicker……I am old and I mean OLD….5, once you get elected you are there until you either drop dead or decide to retire…..that is why so many want the job and so few actually get it…..

Anyway it seems that a Dem, Travis Childers, a super conserv Dem is running against Thad Cochran, a Republican…….

Former Democratic Rep. Travis Childers, who represented the state’s deeply conservative 1st congressional district from May 2008 to January 2011, jumped in the race on Friday.

“Today I am filing to run for the U.S. Senate to make sure that all Mississippians have a Senator in Washington looking out for them,” he said in a statement. “Regular people and small businesses across Mississippi are still hurting in this economy, but Washington is more partisan and dysfunctional than ever. That has got to change.”

The Democrat is vying for the seat of Sen. Thad Cochran (R), which he has held since 1978. Cochran, 76, is duking it out with GOP primary challenger Chris McDaniel, a state senator who has support from tea party organizations like the Club For Growth and Senate Conservatives Fund.

The deep-red state is a long shot for Democrats in any event. The last time Mississippi had a Democratic senator was 1989 — John Stennis. But operatives believe they have a better chance if McDaniel wins the primary. The Republican state senator has made some missteps such as retweeting a neo-Nazi account and blaming gun violence on hip-hop music.

“This is a huge get for Democrats,” said a Democratic strategist involved in the 2014 Senate races. “Mississippi is now in play.”

I say great but I do not think that he can get past the title of Democrat.  Regardless of his stands and his beliefs…..that would put him in the same party as Harry Reid, who is detested in the state…….as an Mississippian I think he is well qualified but he is also delusional……he may present a good show but if Cochran is to be beat for the seat it will be from someone to his, (Cochran’s) extreme right….sorry to pee on the parade.

Can Stupid Be Fixed?

Today is All Mississippi Day……..I just couldn’t resist.

I recently did a post on some gun nut that shot himself to death while displaying his new gun…..can’t fix stupid…..I have that sign above my desk and it reminds me just how stupid the human race can be.

And that brings us to Mississippi, my state…….there are many things that my fellow Mississippians do that just amazes me on how stupid they can be…..in 2010 in an election the Congressman from my district was beat by a Tea Party fave…..even though he was a Dem, he was a Blue Dog Dem which made him more conserv than 80% of self described conservs……his Congressional rating was an A….he was a pro-lifer, NRA supporter, senior issues, and middle class issues….all the issues that my district is concerned with………..his only ‘sin’ was he was a registered Dem and for that sin he was beaten by a do nothing like Palazzo.

Former U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor on Friday told the Sun Herald he will run for the District 4 U.S. House seat he lost to Rep. Steven Palazzo in 2010.

Taylor said he was on his way to Jackson to file to run as a Republican.

The primary is June 3.

In the upcoming election Mississippians have a chance to “fix stupid”……Taylor is running against Palazzo but this time as a Repub…….with his sterling record and on the right side of the argument (not something I believe but what the Hell)……he has a good chance of unseating Palazzo…but the question will be….will Mississippi keep a do nothing or replace him a proven track record of voting on the issues that Mississippians hold dear?

Is it possible that Stupid can be fixed?

Mississippi’s Invisible Senator

What a deal….I get to do two post on my state of Mississippi…..which is great for not much happens in this state other than the usual budget cutting and services curtailment……

We have had a senator for as long as most of us can remember named Thad Cochran…….. (pause here for reflection)……..everybody has heard of Trent Lott but who the Hell has ever heard of Cochran?  My point exactly….not many.

From talkingpointsmemo.com……..

Mississippi State Sen. Chris McDaniel (R) jumped into the Senate race for Sen. Thad Cochran’s (R-MS) seat on Thursday and was immediately endorsed by two prominent conservative organizations.

McDaniel had been floating a primary challenge to either Cochran or Rep. Steven Palazzo (R-MS) prior to his announcement.

Tea Party groups in the state support McDaniel and within minutes the Senate Conservatives Fund, Club for Growth, and Madison Project offered their endorsements.

“Chris McDaniel is a constitutional conservative who will fight to stop Obamacare, balance the budget, and get America working again,” Senate Conservatives Fund Executive Director Matt Hoskins said in a statement . “Chris McDaniel is not part of the Washington establishment and he has the courage to stand up to the big spenders in both parties. He’s a principled leader who will make Mississippi proud.”

I find it incredible that he was planning to go after Palazzo who was the Tea Party fav in his race against Gene Taylor….Taylor, a Democrat, a blue dog had a 99% rating for voting in favor of the middle class…he was pro-gun, pro-life, pro seniors, everything the retirees in the area could want….but because he was a Dem he was booted out of office in favor of a Tea Party candidate……and now that candidate has not preformed to their liking and he could get a challenger…….

As far as Cochran goes…he will most likely bow out because he has lost the extreme right confidence and Mississippi could have the next Ted Cruz in the making….joy, joy……..
