The Lawsuit Lotto!

Seems everybody wants to sue somebody sometime…….I guess it is easier than looking for a real job…..

Even VP candidates are not above using a lawsuit to gain fame and fortune…..

Sarah Palin “took a stand” this week against the New York Times in a lawsuit claiming defamation. CNNMoney reports that the former Alaska governor filed her complaint, which seeks upward of $75,000 in damages, against the Times on Tuesday for an editorial it published right after the shooting of Rep. Steve Scalise earlier this month. In the op-ed touching on the viciousness of the current political climate, the Times editorial board had pointed a finger at Palin and cited her as a force of “political incitement” before the 2011 Gabby Giffords shooting in Arizona, claiming that an ad from Palin’s PAC had positioned “Giffords and 19 other Democrats under stylized [crosshairs],” per the lawsuit.

Two days later, the paper added what the New York Post deems an “embarrassing correction”—that no definitive tie had arisen between “political rhetoric” and the Giffords attack, and that the PAC ad had shown electoral districts, not actual Democrats, under the crosshairs. The NYT Opinion account also tweeted a mea culpa for getting “an important fact wrong.” The Times itself reports on Palin’s suit, which says the paper “violated the law and its own policies” and “knowingly, intentionally, willfully, wantonly and maliciously” published the piece to hurt the “devoted wife, mother, and grandmother,” or at the very least exhibited “blatant disregard” for possible harm. The Times says through a rep it will “vigorously” fight the complaint, which it notes it hasn’t reviewed yet. (Erik Wemple writes for the Washington Post that he thinks Palin has a solid case.)

Like I said….easier than actually finding a real job.

Who Will Lead The VA?

Nothing is more needed than supreme leadership for our millions of veterans…..the VA is tasked with making sure that our vets get the best service and care possible.

So far I have not been impressed with the choices our new prez has been making for his new government….I see very little change from the days of Obama…he has made dismal choices so far in my opinion…..

Word has leaked out on just who he may task to lead the VA…it is a person that cannot finish a job once it is started……a person with more mouth than clout.

Does Donald Trump have a big job lined up for loyal supporter Sarah Palin? The former Alaska governor is a candidate to head the Department of Veterans Affairs, a Palin aide and a Trump transition team official tell ABC, which notes that the VA is the largest government agency, with more than 300,000 employees. USA Today reports that Palin appears to be very keen: In a Facebook post Wednesday, she praised Trump as a “commander-in-chief who will champion our vets.” She also shared a video from her SarahPAC political action committee on her ideas to fix the agency’s problems, along with an endorsement from son-in-law Dakota Meyer, a Medal of Honor recipient who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Chicago Tribune reports.

A spokesman for Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan tells Alaska Dispatch News that the senator would like to see Palin head the VA. “Alaska has more veterans per capita than any other state, making this position critically important for our state,” he says. Palin would be the first non-veteran in the role, though her son Track Palin is an Iraq veteran. ABC notes that former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown, who spent 35 years in the Army National Guard, is also being considered for the post and, unlike Palin, has visited Trump Tower for meetings. Rep. Jeff Miller and Gen. Keith Kellogg have also been connected to the role.

If this is truly Trump’s choice then it will make me sick.  A loud mouth without guts or principles…..to look after our veterans.

I believe that only someone that has actually served in the military can know just what are the needs of a veterans.  I thought is Sen Chuck Hagel he is a conservative and has actually fought in a war and served as a soldier.

Palin’s service to Alaska only lasted a half term before she cut and ran…..the VA needs people of conviction and courage….of which she has NEITHER!

Okay I lied.  I was going to spend a quiet day in meaningful contemplation and then I saw this story….and BAM! I had to say something…..

The one person that shows less intelligence than Trump is the bitchy mouth of Sarah Palin…..and after a time of relative silence she comes forward and illustrates her stupidity….yet again…..

Sarah Palin has waded into the Donald Trump-Jeb Bush debate on language, and come down decidedly in favor of Team Trump. “It’s a benefit of Jeb Bush to be so fluent, because we have a large and wonderful Hispanic population building America, and that’s a great connection he has with them,” Palin told CNN. “On the other hand, I think we can send a message and say, ‘You want to be in America, A, you’d better be here legally or you’re out of here. B, when you’re here, let’s speak American. … Let’s speak English.” She also defended Trump’s recent foreign policy gaffe, saying, “I think I’d rather have a president who is tough and puts America first than can win a game of Trivial Pursuit.”

All the praise might be so much job-shopping, by Palin’s own account: “I think a lot about the Department of Energy, because energy is my baby: oil and gas and minerals, those things that God has dumped on this part of the Earth for mankind’s use instead of us relying on unfriendly foreign nations.” That said, per CNN, her tenure would be short-lived: “I’d get rid of (the Energy Department). And I’d let the states start having more control over the lands that are within their boundaries and the people who are affected by the developments within their states. If I were in charge of that, it would be a short-term job, but it would be … really great to have someone who knows energy and is pro-responsible development to be in charge.”

I know that since Trump made his now infamous statement about immigrants it has become a hot button issue….but that does not excuse mental midgets from stating bullshit.

Let me help Ms. Palin…..we here in the good old US of A speak English……if we spoke American then we would be speaking in the tongues of the Native Americans……

‘You Betcha!’ Sarah Palin Jettisoned By Fox News (VIDEO)

I saw this news appear on Twitter yesterday and just had to press it……FOX shows signs of intelligence after all……..

FOX News may have just impressed me a tiny bit.

Fox News and Sarah Palin have gone their separate ways. The former Alaska governor’s contract with the network ended as of June 1 and will not be renewed, a Fox spokesperson tells Politico. The rep says the split was amicable, and Palin is still expected to show up on Fox and Fox Business as a guest. Politico says the move was made because execs no longer see Palin as quite so “relevant.” (But she’s not exactly going anywhere: As Politico notes, she has her own TV show, gives frequent speeches, will likely appear on other networks and cable channels, and has a “new publishing project” in the works.) CNNMoney notes that Palin and Fox previously split in 2013, but she returned to the network the same year.

It appears that they have kick poor Sarah to the curb…….seems her flame is flickering and with a little luck it will finally go out…….

Sarah….We Thought We Knew Ya

Our past VP candidate has been the butt of many jokes and snarky comments since the election of 2008…..I for one have had my fill of her……but the media still gives her air time and all we can do is ask ……….why?

Back in ’08 there was one person that contacted me before the VP was announced by McCain and he said that it would be Palin…..I got a good chuckle out of it because NO one south of Juneau, Alaska had even heard of a Palin……that person was one Matt Lewis a conserv pundit and he was an avid admirer of hers and promoted her at every turn……7 years later he has had a change of heart…..

Conservative pundit Matt Lewis has been a big Sarah Palin fan from the get-go. In fact, as he explains in the Daily Beast, he was a fan before the get-go—pushing for her as a VP candidate even before John McCain made his pick. Since then, he’s staunchly defended her from critics on the right, and he’s even edited a book of her quotes. Now, however, the party is over. “I got some stuff right, and my position was justifiable at the time, but in hindsight I regret contributing to the premature deification of Sarah Palin,” Lewis writes.

Her recent speech in Iowa—sample line: “‘The Man’ can only ride ya when your back is bent”—was so roundly panned that it feels like “we have finally reached a tipping point where criticizing Palin isn’t only acceptable for conservative opinion leaders, it’s now almost expected.” Lewis’ new view of Palin is that of an “incredibly talented political force” who sold out and squandered any chance of greatness. “And it’s worth considering that maybe her early critics saw some fundamental character flaw—some harbinger of things to come—that escaped me.” Click to read the full column.

Nice to see a pundit like Lewis admit a error in judgement……but that brings up another question…..what took him so long?

Do You Remember Palin?

If not she was the VP candidate when McCain tried to steal the presidency……she was a source of many news stories in her day….she resigned as governor to chase the money that celeb status would bring and now she, at least the family,  will be known for something else……

Newser) – It’s not entirely clear exactly what happened at a big party in Anchorage Saturday night—but apparently it involved a lot of booze and a lot of Palins. According to Wonkette, multiple members of the family were “present” at a drunken brawl involving up to 20 people at a party that sources say was a snowmobiling-related event and a celebration of Todd Palin’s birthday. A police spokeswoman tells the Alaska Dispatch News that “none of the involved parties wanted to press charges at the time of the incident and no arrests were made at the scene. Alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the incident. Some of the Palin family members were in attendance at the party. “

According to blogger Amanda Coyne, the fracas began when Track Palin clashed with one of his sister Willow’s ex-boyfriends. The homeowner got involved and was soon “up against nearly the whole Palin tribe: Palin women screaming. Palin men thumping their chests,” Coyne writes. “Word is that Bristol has a particularly strong right hook, which she employed repeatedly, and it’s something to hear when Sarah screams, “Don’t you know who I am!” And it was particularly wonderful when someone in the crowd screamed back, “This isn’t some damned Hillbilly reality show!” Police say they are still reviewing the case to determine whether to file charges

Wonder where hubby Todd was….maybe home with the kids?  Maybe this was just filming for her new reality show…….or maybe it was a conspiracy to smear the family name……whatcha think?

I have said many times that I think Sarah Palin is as worthless as they come…..and now with a channel all her own she is even less coherent….

Watch this then tell me what she actually had to say….if you can.  Then explain to me just what about this babbling moron would have made a good VP….apparently I am missing it totally.

Subscribers ought to be up in arms for this crap….unless you are just plain stupid and enjoy throwing your money away……(thinking)……..

“Told Ya So!”

Before I begin……we hear from our brethren on the Right that Obama’s is an imperial presidency, in other words he is a dictator…..and since the Ukraine thing we are hearing from those same people that Obama is a wimp, a Momma’s boy with NO guts…….Okay you guys make up our minds for us please.  I guess consistency means nothing, right?  Yet when the prez is inconsistent he is a bad prez…..if you want me to take anything you say seriously….then maybe you should start with one simple rule…..CONSISTENCY!

Since Russia has sent troops and ships to Ukraine we have a wealth of post incident back slapping…especially from the Right….they are pointing to Obama and his weak foreign policy (something I will stipulate) from past losers in elections as they were somehow privy to world affairs…….to this I say NOT A CHANCE!

Before I continue……to my GOP friends….want you remember this?

Sarah Palin is happily sticking it back to critics who mocked her comments about Russia back in the 2008 campaign, reports CNN. The reason is this quote from a speech of hers in Reno:

  • “After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence—the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next.”

Given what’s happening on the ground, Palin took to Facebook to gloat a little. “Yes, I could see this one from Alaska,” she writes, recalling the Tina Fey “I can see Russia from my house!” spoof. Her post continues: “I’m usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did.” As Breitbart.com notes, Foreign Policy magazine called Palin’s comments “strange” at the time and dismissed the idea as “an extremely far-fetched scenario.”

Come on….there are couple of the ‘new’ foreign policy’ experts that until last week probably could not find Ukraine on a map without the help of their Google finger.

Look I predicted Chavez would die in office a year before he actually croaked and I am NOT an expert or a flipping foreign policy genius….but a couple of past voices did just what I did…..lucky guesses….you put out enough crap and something will come true…..you can say whatever you like about Obama’s foreign policy….but please do not make these self-promoting twats out as some sort of all seeing seer……….

That is my only statement on anything dealing with these ego-centric toads……we can talk about the lack of guts in foreign policy and anything else but for God’s sake leave these people out of it.

Run Sarah Run!

I can hear the chants as I write!  You see there are many out there in the ether that think this person has what it takes to be a serious political figure…..

Any way there was a sort of announcement from Ms Palin while speaking with Hannity…….

“I’ve considered it because people have requested me considering it,” Palin said, after Hannity mentioned rumors of a potential Senate run.

“I’m still waiting to see, you know, what the lineup will be and hoping that, there again, there will be some new blood, new energy — not just kind of picking from the same old politicians in the state,” Palin continued.

Palin also took the opportunity to swipe at Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska), who she believes “has got to be replaced.”

“[Begich] has not done what he has promised to do for the people of Alaska and that was to represent what it is that the nation needs in terms of energy development and so many other … development issues that are near and dear to an Alaskan’s heart,” Palin said. “Because he’s on the wrong side of the aisle, he has to go along to get along with his Democrat leadership. And that’s a shame. That’s a waste of opportunity for our nation.”

Now with all that said my favorite part of her roundabout announcement was when she said……..”[Begich] has not done what he has promised to do for the people of Alaska………..”

This coming from a person that was elected governor of her state and resigned mid-term to pursue fame and fortune……she did not do what she promised to do when she was elected…..this is the same sort of hypocrisy that is plaguing the GOP….and the funny thing they cannot see just how pathetic they appear to the voter…….

All that aside…….do I want Palin to run?  Hell yes!  There is seldom any a amusement to be found in state elections….but if she runs against Miller it will be whack-a-doodle vs batshit crazy…….lots of fun and lots to write about.  But will she run?

My personal opinion is…..NO!  Two times a loser will diminish her wealth as a speaker and the money will not be as good and that is something she cannot tolerate…..
