Women…..A Media Smear Campaign

If you need an example that the MSM does not really hold to that old saying “fair and balanced”….those days are gone thanx to a Clinton program that allowed corporations to buy then control the news.

Since the midterms and a wealth of freshman Dem reps have entered the House most of whom are more progressive than the cowards that pretend to be so…..and now the media will do their job and try to smear these reps to keep any progressive agenda from seeing the light of day.

The MSM will emphasize the petty stories to keep the bigger stories from the airwaves.

They, MSM, seem to have their sights on 3 or 4 of the freshman representatives, the women, AOC, Ilhan, Rashida….then there is the campaign against an established rep……Tulsi Gabbard……

Apparently these women have more balls than the men in the House and the they plus the media are scared to death of strong women with plans.

The MSM spent a couple days smearing her as much as possible…..

Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has published an apology for making self-evident observations about the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), an immensely influential lobbying firm which, like all lobbying firms, works to influence government policy toward a specific agenda, in this case the interests of the Israeli government. She issued the apology after hours upon hours of shrill, hysterical shrieking accusations of antisemitism from the entire establishment political-media class.

Like I wrote….she was not fact checked for her statement and the MSM has full time fact checkers for Trump and they could not take the time to do her the courtesy.

Next on the MSM hit list is the Palestinian-American rep Rashida….she got on the list because she called someone a MF……

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), who officially became the first Palestinian-American congresswoman last week, was accused Monday of perpetuating historically anti-Semitic sentiments.

It is already the second major controversy for the freshman lawmaker. Last week — on the same day she was sworn into Congress — Tlaib triggered widespread condemnation and backlash after she referred to President Donald Trump as a “motherf***er,” asserting that she will effortlessly work to impeach the president.

Ilhan and Rashida are targeted by others as well as the MSM….

Hardly anything has been more disruptive to geopolitics as usual in the Middle East than the newly flourishing relationship between the Saudi monarchy and the state of Israel.

While the newfound coziness between the two states is built largely on shared enmity towards Iran, the normalising of ties comes at the expense of the Palestinians, who have become, once again, all but ignored in the world of Arab politics.

The most popular of the freshman Congresswoman, AOC, has got the MSM and the conservs running scared because of her popularity and her social media savvy….she is using it more effectively that “what’s his name”……

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has become a breakout star in the Democratic Party since June, when she pulled off a stunning upset in the New York midterm primaries, beating Rep. Joe Crowley, a top Democrat in the House.

And, not coincidentally, she has also become the white-hot epicenter of not just derision, but blistering, nonstop criticism from conservatives and Republicans.

Ocasio-Cortez is a part of the new left flank of the Democratic Party that is fighting both Republicans and establishment Democrats (and, occasionally, the media) in advance of the fall midterms.

Another rep that I like a lot…..she punishes back when morons attack….no excuses….great.

Finally (for now) is the only woman of the list that has announced she is running in 2020 for president….Tulsi.

So far she is the only candidate that is an antiwar candidate (will get my support for now) and the MSM cannot tolerate a candidate that does not support our many many wars…..

Four strong women representatives and the MSM like the “old guard” in the Congress especially the old white dudes are afraid and running scared as these women come to the forefront.

I am positive that the MSM is not through with the lies and the smears on these women.

******One side note……watch the media and listen……the overpaid douches on TV as pundits are scared to death of these women….they are taking every opportunity to smear them and tell just how ignorant they are, the women I mean, the MSM is SCARED to death that their policies, progressive policies will become popular and they will be in the cross hairs that they will bad mouth every turn these women talk, even the women pundits will them, like good old MIKA……do not be swayed by the fearful pundits……evaluate these women and their policies for yourself and not from slogans…..check their policies and the facts.  The country needs these women and their voices do not let the pundits, corporations and MSM silence them!******

Extinction Of The White Dinosaur

The election of so many women in the last election is part of the process of the extinction……the problem is that these women need to carve out their spot in politics and stick to their guns.

Confidence Lost

Back and forth….back and forth……the jibes go back and forth……Repubs try to make their campaign points and then the Dems counter….back and forth……Really people…..It is ALL a game……we NO longer have people who govern we have politicians who are campaigning…..from day one it is about the next election…..

I am convinced that we elect people that are NOT capable of running the country….they are very well adapting to running and campaigning….but governance escapes them completely……I use to say we are governed by idiots….I was mistaken…..we are governed by the incompetent…..

Just look at the debt thing……..it is all talking points and campaign slogans….not one bit of actual governance…..All 535 representatives are incompetent……sad thing is this will NOT change and since it will not change…..our beloved democracy is in trouble and will most likely disappear….and then we can thank the incompetent fools we have elected to run our country…..silliness and absurdity have replaced common sense and good governance…..and these twits are proud of what they are doing to this country….and yet YOU keep voting them into office…..WHY?

Here is an idea…..you want to settle the debt thing once and for all?  Go to the US Constitution……Amendment 14 Section 4:

4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.

Invoke the Constitution and move on!

But NOPE!  We had rather have these people argue over completely stupid stuff instead of working on the real problems facing the country…….Re-election is far more important than the health of the country….Right?  It is more important on what games the children play or who is allowed to marry or who does what with their body…..the ship of state is sinking and democracy is being replaced by a single individual that can dictate policy to the government…….and that person is NOT even an elected official but rather some civilian that wields more power than the Speaker of the House….

The country is burning while the people fiddle……….ALL confidence has been LOST!

The only way to regain the confidence is to get rid of ALL the politicians at one time and start over….it is time for the people to once again  become the most important part of governance…..silly games are over!  And even sillier politicians need to be outlawed……we need confidence where there is none…..we need statesmen once again and NOT absurd politicians…..

2011 Dumbass Statement #1

Info Ink we give an annual “Assie” award for the most anal statement made during the year…..we have so many statements that could qualify as anal that we decided to try and eliminate some of the lesser anals and instead give “Dumbass” awards as we find them……

The first one goes to freshman US Representative from Polk County Wisconsin, Sean Duffy (R)…while holding a town hall meeting he was talking about his finances as a Rep……

I can guarantee you, or most of you, I guarantee that I have more debt than all of you. With 6 kids, I still pay off my student loans. I still pay my mortgage. I drive a used minivan. If you think I’m living high on the hog, I’ve got one paycheck. So I struggle to meet my bills right now. Would it be easier for me if I get more paychecks? Maybe, but at this point I’m not living high on the hog.  (thanx to TPM for the quote)

He is struggling on a salary of $174,000…..and probably the highest paid person in the room would be lucky to make $50,000…….and in a state where workers and the middle class are under attack he also said that he supported Gov. Walker in his attack on the public workers and their representation…..

He lands the “Dumbass” Award for whining to working people that his salary that is about 3 times larger than theirs…….arrogant comes to mind!

There is a lot zooming around the airways around the Beltway….Middle East Problems…..Cuts arguments…jobs dilemma (something few want to address)…and a weak economy that has no help from the government….like I said a week of killer problems……and during all this the White House Press Secretary made a statement during a briefing about Libya and the problems…..

MR. CARNEY:  ……………..  The Libyan people deserve a government now that protects the safety of its citizens, is responsive to their aspirations, and is broadly representative.

In other words Qadafi and his stooges need to listen to the people…is that about it?

Read it again…please…….has anyone in Washington…the White House or the Congress ever taken this same advice?  I know why do I say that?

In a recent poll conducted by the WSJ…..81% say that we should tax millionaires……68% say we need to eliminate the Bush tax cuts…..74% say we need to eliminate the subsidies for the oil companies….but yet the Congress and the Prez are doing the exact opposite of what a majority of the people want….why?

Do I have this about right?  The Libyan leaders need to respect what the people want, but the leaders in US can ignore the desires of its people?  Where is that democratic?

I think the US, especially those in power, should stop lecturing other countries on what they need to do or not do….especially while they ignore the wishes and desires of their own people.

Now is the time for the country to have a substantive conversation on the direction of the country……put aside petty and I do mean petty, differences and political BS and settle on what is good for the people and the country.  It is a pipe dream, I know, but this has to be done or this form of government is heading for the door……..

They’re Baaaaaaaaaack! (Again….And Again….And…..)

After about 2 weeks of quiet…the time has come for the good thing to come to an end…..yesterday the new Congress, #112, were sworn in and they begin to work…….with all that hot air the temps in Washington should get warmer, if nothing else…….

It is official…..they have been sworn in…..and now the same crap begins again…….the theater of the absurd…….They raised their hands and promised to protect the Constitution and then tomorrow they will be told what the Constitution consist of in substance…yes…they will be read the Constitution on Thursday…I would think that a guardian of the Constitution should already be aware of what it contains and what it has to say….but then I believe in Santa Claus (for my conserv friends…that is called sarcasm)……

While the Dems were working on health care and reform…the Repubs were screaming about jobs and jobs creation….but that was the 111th Congress….and now with the new Congress and new faces in charge the Repubs are screaming about health care and the Dems are yelling…jobs…jobs…jobs…..the more things change, the more they remain the same……

God!  I love this stuff!

Remember the election of 2010?  The GOP used the economy, jobs and austerity in government as their message…please tell me the pea brains recall that…..but what happens when they trot into Washington in power?

For $2,500, Politico reports that lobbyists, PAC managers, and others will be able to hobnob with lawmakers at the swanky W Hotel, with the highest rollers paying $50,000 for access to the hotel’s “VIP suite.

Looks like the newly empowered are saying screw populism…you know that idea that carried them to victory in November?  And it does not end there…oh no…it gets better…..

Republicans’ deficit reduction platform, which may have helped catapult them into the majority, is about to run headlong into a hard reality: Many of their key policy goals will increase the deficit dramatically.

To get around this fact, they’ve included measures in their new rules package to exempt some of their biggest legislative priorities from deficit consideration. Among the exceptions, which the House is likely to consider in the 112th Congress, are the health care repeal bill (scheduled for a vote a week from Wednesday), the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts, an AMT patch, extending the estate tax, and more.

Lecture #3

This is a continuation of my corporatism post of yesterday……….

For many many years I have been bitching about the possibility that the government is up for sale to the corporate interests….something I like to call “auction politics”….that is that the government is up to the highest bidder in the form of donations….which in turn gives them special access to the wheels of government and with that access comes unimaginable influence on the direction of the country.

landmark decision, approved by a 5-4 margin, could unleash a torrent of corporate and union cash into the political realm and transform how campaigns for president and Congress are fought in the coming years.

The new ruling blurs the lines between corporate and individual contributions in political campaigns. It also strikes down part of the 2002 McCain-Feingold campaign finance law that banned unions and corporations from paying for political ads in the waning days of campaigns.

“The Supreme Court has given a green light to a new stampede of special interest money in our politics,” Obama said in a statement. “It is a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans.”

All this is just reinforcing the belief that the government is up for sale to the highest bidder…..the recent “successes” of the Obama admin shows how the influence of cash has turned out……the FinReg was so watered down that it is impotent….health reform is so watered down that it is a joke, at best…….two major issues that have been influenced by money from corporations…..

Americans!  You government and your country are being sold to the highest bidder….your vote means nothing after the election…no matter which party you think is the best…neither are on your side!  Rethink your vote, please, for the sake of your family and the country….RETHINK your vote!

Is The Congress Violating The Constitution?

For way too long I have listened to this politician and that politician stand on the Constitution to oppose or defend an issue….it is most tiring because none of these “people’s representatives” have actually read the document….bu that is for another post….right now I want to discuss the battles being waged in the Congress today…..health reform…energy…..financial regulation…war….all the fun stuff that writers want to tackle in pursuit of the Pulitzer…….

Almost every 7th grader can tell you that there is 3 branches of government in the US:  Executive, Judicial and Legislative…for the sake of this post I will focusing in on the Legislative branch of our government.

With all the debate in Congress there are a few stages that every bill must go through:

1. Bill introduction

2. Referral to committee(s)

3. Committee hearings

4. Committee mark-up

5. Committee report

6. Scheduling legislation

7. House: special rules, suspension of the rules, or privileged matter

8. Senate: unanimous consent agreements or motions to proceed

9. Floor debate

10. Floor amendment

 11. Vote on final passage

12. Reconciling differences between the house and senate

13. Amendments between the houses, or

14. Conference committee negotiations

15. Floor debate on conference report

16. Floor vote on conference report

17. Conference version presented to the president

 18. President signs into law or allows bill to become law without his signature

19. President vetoes bill

20. First chamber vote on overriding veto

21. Second chamber vote on overriding veto

22. Bill becomes law if 2/3 vote to override is achieved in both chambers

23. Bill fails to become law if one chamber fails to override

Now that we have the stages of a bill…let us talk about the present day debate going on in Washington……to me there is NO substantial debate from the opposition, only obstructionism……is there NO compromise just partisan bickering…..there is NOTHING remotely being done in the name of the American people…..

There are somethings that are a must for the passing of a bill:

After a problem is identified, potential policy solutions are formulated. Elected officials, interest groups and citizens participate in discussions and debates. Alternative solutions are compared and critiqued. Where there is consensus (or at least majority support) for one of the policy alternatives, it is adopted, generally through the passage of legislation.

Now you have the process…now ask yourself, is this anything like what it happening in the health reform debate, for example?  The answer is simple…..NO!

Why?  There is NO discussion just name calling and slogan slinging……the people are NOT part of the debate….there are NO alternative solutions being discussed……in short the whole debate is one sided with the one side arguing with itself…..

This is NOT what was imagined by the “Fathers” of the Constitution….Madison wrote the direction of the Congress in Federalist 52:

As it is essential to liberty that the government in general should have a common interest with the people, so it is particularly essential that the [Congress] should have an immediate dependence on, and an intimate sympathy with, the people.

The present day Congress is a FAR cry from what Madison foresaw….and because of that misdirection I believe that the Congress is acting in an unconstitutional manner…..there is NO debate just obstructionism…that is not how it was intended to work……now we come back to Federalist #10……partisan BS!

Here Is The Future Without Health Reform

The debate rages…there are setbacks and some forward movement….but if the special interests have their way and no health reform is coming, what can we look forward to in the near future?

We have heard all the arguments pro and con of the health care debate, but there are a few things that will be certain without reform……costs will keep going up, people will DIE and the uninsured will be a drag on the economy.

Rep. Boner, my bad Boehner, has been a staunch critic of reform but this is what happens even in HIS district:

A 22-year-old woman from Oxford, Ohio, died from swine flu on Wednesday. Kimberly Young graduated from Miami University in December and continued to live in Oxford, Ohio, within Minority Leader John Boehner’s congressional distrct. Reports now indicate that after initially getting sick, Young put off treatment because she was uninsured:  (thanx to thinkprogress.com)

There are always horror stories when the health care debate is raging here is another one:

One of the worst abuses of private insurance companies is the practice of using spurious reasons to deny claims. In April, Rosalinda Miran-Ramirez awoke and found her shirt soaked in blood. Realizing that her “her left breast [was] bleeding from the nipple,” she rushed to the emergency room.

Today, CBS-5 reports that this San Francisco Department of Public Health employee has had her claim denied because her insurance company, Blue Shield of California, didn’t consider her situation to be an “emergency.” Even though her doctor told her it was likely a tumor, Blue Shield said that Miran-Ramirez should have known it wasn’t:

But Miran-Ramirez said the real shock came when her insurance company, Blue Shield of California HMO, which had initially approved the claim for the emergency room visit, reversed course and sent her a new bill three months later requiring her to pay the total charges for that visit: $2,791.00.

And within the debate are those people that are using the Constitution as an argument to proposed health reform, the tenthers as they are called because they say the 10th amendment says that it should not reform health care.  The worst indication of just how far these dipsticks will go, Sen. Ensign is saying:

A popular right-wing objection to federal health care legislation is that it’s unconstitutional. These “tenthers” argue that since the U.S. Constitution never explicitly gives the federal government the right to regulate health care, the 10th amendment leaves that power to the states. Texas tenthers have held pro-secession rallies, and officials in various states have raised the possibility of legislation to exempt their residents from federal health care.

ENSIGN: We’ve allowed exceptions for religious and various other reasons. But some people hold the Constitution pretty high in their lives, and if they believe that this thing is unconstitutional, and they then say, “I choose not to have health insurance, I’m not going to buy it,” we could be subjecting those very people who conscientiously — because they believe in the U.S. Constitution — we could be subjecting them to fines or the interpretation of a judge, potentially, all the way up to imprisonment. That seems to me to be a problem.

These types just amaze me….they quote and hold-up the Constitution to make their point but yet want to violate the same document to further their agenda…like inserting themselves into people’s private lives….WHAT A PILE OF CRAP!

Everyone needs to decide what it will be in conjunction with the Constitution…either we go by strict adherence to it or it is up for interpretation.  But to fluctuate between the two is just plain IGNORANT!  And I mean that in EVERY sense of the word.


Die—–Die Quickly!

Tit for tat…..I was wondering when a Dem would be stupid and say something that the Repubs would seize on and demand an apology….well, I did not have to wait long…now did I?

The Ministry of Information of the GOP is reporting:

Taking a page from Democrats who disciplined Rep. Joe “You Lie” Wilson earlier this month, Republicans are seeking their own pound of flesh from a Democratic congressman who said Tuesday that the GOP wants Americans to “die quickly” if they get sick.

Rep. Alan Grayson,a first-term Democrat known for being provocative, refuses to apologize for the comments he made on the House floor Tuesday night while criticizing Republican health care proposals.

Republicans are likening Grayson’s remark to Wilson’s widely criticized shout of “You lie!” during President Obama’s address to Congress earlier this month. They say Democrats should insist that Grayson apologize just as they did Wilson.

In case there was any doubt…this report is from FOX News.

These little minds are acting like 3rd graders….when will they grow up?  Grayson was a moron for giving the GOP the opportunity to play the blame game.  Sorry, guys but being disrespectful to the president and what Grayson did are two separate situations.  If we like let us go back a few months and demand apologies for members that question the Prez citizenship or the members that call him a Nazi or that all Dems are un-American or that Dems would kill Grandma or ………oh hell that is enough they are giving me gas.

If they want an apology then they, all of Congress,  owe the American people an apology for their blatant disregard of the people they are elected to serve.  Or how about they apologize for being a prostitutes for big business.  Or apologize for wasting time and money on their childish little games.

When will the American people tire of these childish little games?
