Poor Blondi Is Out

First Donny got his panties in a twist with Noem and now he has dropped the ax on another woman in his cabinet, AG Blondi.

Reports that Attorney General Pam Bondi was on thin ice with President Trump turned out to be correct. Trump announced Thursday that Bondi’s time as AG has come to an end and that Deputy AG Todd Blanche will serve as her replacement. “Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country, with Murders plummeting to their lowest level since 1900,” Trump added. “We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future, and our Deputy Attorney General, and a very talented and respected Legal Mind, Todd Blanche, will step in to serve as Acting Attorney General”.

Sources tell NBC News that Trump had become “more and more” frustrated with Bondi in recent days, feeling she hadn’t “executed on his vision” in the way he wanted. According to Fox News‘ sources, Trump informed Bondi that her time was up on Wednesday in a meeting before his speech on Iran. She is the second Cabinet-level official to be fired in Trump’s second administration. Kristi Noem was fired as Homeland Security secretary early last month.

An excuse?

Since she took office seems she did everything Donny wanted and then some…..so why the ax?

President Trump said Thursday that Pam Bondi is out as his attorney general, ending the contentious tenure of a loyalist who upended the Justice Department’s culture of independence from the White House, oversaw large-scale firings of career employees, and moved aggressively to investigate the president’s perceived enemies.

  • The announcement follows months of scrutiny over the Justice Department’s handling of files related to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking investigation that made Bondi the target of angry conservatives despite her close relationship with Trump, the AP reports. She also struggled to satisfy Trump’s demands to prosecute his political rivals, with multiple investigations rejected by judges or grand juries or yet to produce charges.
  • Bondi, a former Florida attorney general, came into office last year pledging that she would not play politics with the Justice Department, but she quickly started investigations of Trump foes, sparking an outcry that the law enforcement agency was being wielded as a tool of revenge to advance the president’s political and personal agenda.
  • She ushered in a period of intense turmoil at the department that included the firings of career prosecutors deemed insufficiently loyal to Trump and the resignations of hundreds of other employees.
  • Bondi rejected accusations that she politicized the Justice Department and said her mission was to restore the institution’s credibility after overreach by Joe Biden’s administration with two federal criminal cases against Trump. Bondi’s public embrace of the president, however, marked a sharp departure from her predecessors, who generally took pains to maintain an arm’s-length distance from the White House to protect the impartiality of investigations and prosecutions. Bondi positioned herself as Trump’s chief supporter and protector, praising and defending him in congressional hearings and placing a banner with his face on the exterior of Justice Department headquarters.
  • You’ve turned the People’s Department of Justice into Trump’s instrument of revenge,” Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, said at a February hearing. At the same hearing, Bondi responded to a question about Epstein’s accomplices by talking about the stock market, saying, “The Dow is up over 50,000 right now.”
  • Bondi struggled to overcome early stumbles over the Epstein files that angered conservatives eager for government bombshells about the case. She stoked conspiracy theories with a suggestion in a 2025 Fox News Channel interview that Epstein’s “client list” was sitting on her desk for review. The department later acknowledged that no such document exists.
  • Bondi was ridiculed over a move to hand out binders of Epstein files to conservative influencers at the White House, only for it to be later revealed that the documents included no new revelations. And despite promises that more files were going to become public, the Justice Department in July said no more would be released, prompting Congress to pass a bill to force the agency to do so.
  • Even Republicans began to challenge her, with the Republican-led House Oversight Committee last month issuing a subpoena to her to appear for a closed-door interview about the Epstein files.
  • Despite her loyalty, insiders say Trump had become increasingly frustrated with Bondi. A former White House official tells NBC News that failing to secure indictments “is a problem for job security with the president. No one is more anxious than Trump to get everything done immediately. He’s at a stage in life where he realizes that time goes fast. He wants action.”
  • “Good riddance. Pam Bondi was the wrong choice from the start,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said on X. “But the rot at the Department of Justice begins and ends with Donald Trump. As long as his focus is on using DOJ as a tool for revenge and not law enforcement, the cover up of the Epstein files, along with the countless other problems at DOJ, will continue.”
  • Trump named Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, his former personal lawyer as the acting attorney general, though sources tell the AP he has privately discussed Lee Zeldin, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, as a permanent pick. On X, Blanche praised Bondi for leading the Justice Department “with strength and conviction.” “Thank you to President Trump for the trust and the opportunity to serve as Acting Attorney General,” he said. “We will continue backing the blue, enforcing the law, and doing everything in our power to keep America safe.”

Did it all come back to the Epstein file?

Seems everything is being linked to that ‘file’.

DHS Barbie Out On Her Ass

Noem has been fired…..I am surprised for being such a Donny enabler that she might weather this storm after her days testifying….I was mistaken.

She is gone and we await the next d/bag in line for the hallow halls of DHS.

Kristi Noem’s turbulent run atop the Department of Homeland Security is ending with a reassignment and a replacement drawn from the Senate. President Trump announced Thursday that Sen. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma will take over as DHS secretary, calling him “highly respected,” while saying Noem will shift to a new post as “Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas,” part of a Western Hemisphere security push the White House says it will roll out Saturday. The change takes effect March 31.

  • Months of speculation. The firing follows months of speculation about Noem’s future as public support for Trump’s aggressive deportation drive has eroded and even some Republicans questioned her leadership.
  • Trump “not a happy camper.” The president was unhappy with Noem about DHS’s heavily criticized surge in Minnesota, where two US citizens were fatally shot by officers, and about Noem’s Senate testimony on Tuesday defending a $200 million ad campaign that prominently featured her, sources tell the Washington Post. Noem told senators Trump had approved the campaign. GOP Sen. John Kennedy said Trump was “not a happy camper” when he spoke to him later that day. “The president’s recollection and her recollection are distinctly different,” he said.
  • Her new role. The White House says the Shield of the Americas is a regional policy initiative, guided by Trump’s “Donroe Doctrine,” to ensure security for the Western Hemisphere, the Hill reports. Noem’s role, like her role at Homeland Security, will include dealing with issues like illegal immigration and drug trafficking. Noem didn’t mention her ouster during an appearance at an event in Nashville on Thursday, but she later thanked Trump in a post on X. “In this new role, I will be able to build on the partnerships and national security expertise, I forged over the last 13 months as Secretary of Homeland Security,” she wrote.
  • Mullin. In a post on X, Mullin, whose appointment needs to be confirmed by the Senate, said, “I look forward to earning the support of my colleagues in the Senate and carrying out President Trump’s mission alongside the department’s many capable agencies and the thousands of patriots who keep us safe every day.” Mullin “has been a fighter for Oklahoma and will fight to keep our nation secure,” Gov. Kevin Stitt said in a statement, per the Oklahoma Voice. “There isn’t a better choice to lead the Department of Homeland Security.” He said he would appoint a “strong, small government conservative voice” to replace Mullin.
  • Democrats welcome the news. Democrats largely cheered her departure, the Post reports. Independent Sen. Angus King, who caucuses with Democrats, called Mullin “an upgrade, absolutely,” adding that “pretty much anybody is.” Sen. Cory Booker said Noem should still be “held to account for the corruption that she has shown with the contracting” and for what he described as violations of Americans’ constitutional rights. The Los Angeles-based Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights said her departure is “long overdue,” the AP reports. “For immigrant communities across the country, her leadership represented a dangerous escalation of policies that treated families and workers as targets rather than as human beings,” the advocacy group said, adding that her replacement must ensure agencies like ICE treat immigrants with “basic human respect.”

Her ousting was more about taking the heat off Donny than her….she will not go far for as an enabler Donny needs her close.

I do not believe this will be a new chapter for DHS just a continuation of the Donny policies.

Sacrificial Lambs

With all the chaos created in Minneapolis has stared getting out of hand our Little Donny steps in to crush his own people….

Homeland Security chief Kristi Noem met with President Trump in the Oval Office for two hours Monday evening, reports the New York Times. It’s seen as the latest sign of Trump’s quick pivot on Minneapolis after a bipartisan backlash over the shooting of protester Alex Pretti. Noem’s job appears safe, according to the Times, but she has been essentially replaced in Minneapolis by border czar Tom Homan. Also out of Minneapolis is Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino. Both he and Noem, along with Stephen Miller, had quickly painted Pretti as a domestic terrorist out to kill federal agents, but the backlash ensued when video and eyewitnesses contradicted that narrative.

Trump fielded calls on Sunday from Republicans including Sen. Lindsey Graham warning him that the White House’s immigration agenda was at risk because of the grim TV images, and that Trump needed to make moves quickly, reports the Wall Street Journal. Getting rid of Bovino was an easy first step, per Axios. “He’s a cowboy, and it was a mess,” a source familiar with the president’s thinking tells the outlet. “It was only escalation, and no one was going to back down. Homan going in is a good thing. Someone needed to step in.”

Trump also adopted a much friendlier tone toward Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz after the two spoke by phone on Monday. The Journal reports on part of a deal they struck: Trump would pull some federal agents out of the city if Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey provided more cooperation to the remaining agents who are trying to arrest people in the US illegally. The first agents are expected to leave on Tuesday. House Democrats, meanwhile, plan to open an investigation into Noem next week as part of a push to impeach her, reports the Washington Post.

What is this sick game Donny is playing?

He creates chaos and then when it goes too far he tries to look concerned and sacrifices some people around him…..

Or does create chaos first in LA then Chicago and other points until the disaster of Minneapolis and then he calls off his goons and moves them to the next victim city….is this a tactic to make a case for the Insurrection Act?

How much more pathetic can Donny get…..don’t answer that we know he is not finished.

Give Us That Old-Time Purge

Just like the days of old when the USSR purged people by Stalin or Kim in North Korea purging opponents or China purging dissent to policies….the RNC seems to be solidifying Trump’s control….

It’s been just a few days since the Republican National Committee welcomed its new leadership—including Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of former President Trump—but big moves are already afoot. Politico reports on a “bloodbath” at the RNC, with sources telling the outlet that more than five dozen staffers in the communications, data, and political departments are being fired—including five of the committee’s more senior members, though they haven’t yet been named. Cuts were also made to vendor contracts, as well as to staffers that managed the RNC’s community centers, which did outreach to minority groups in blue states, per the AP.

“During this process, certain staff are being asked to resign and reapply for a position on the team,” Sean Cairncross, the RNC’s new COO, said in a letter to employees, adding that the shake-up was meant to “ensure the building is aligned” with the committee’s new vision. In addition to these other developments, the Trump campaign is prepping to merge its operations with that of the RNC, which would mark “an unprecedented level of integration between the former president’s campaign and the GOP’s formal political and fundraising apparatus,” per the AP. In addition to Lara Trump, North Carolina Republican chief Michael Whatley will co-chair the RNC, with political consultant Chris LaCivita named as the group’s new chief of staff.

LaCivita and others celebrated the news of the RNC shift, proclaiming it to be necessary in the name of streamlining an overly bureaucratic organization. Other prominent Republicans also weighed in. “MAGA is now in control of the Republican Party!!” Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted late Tuesday on X. Not everyone was happy about the change. “Gutting a committee just before the election seems insane,” one ex-RNC worker tells the Washington Post. Staffers who don’t intend to reapply for their jobs will be asked to leave at the end of March, though some were asked to vacate RNC offices on Monday, per the AP.

Any excuse to rid the RNC of any disloyal followers.

But this is not the first time Trumpers have gone on a witch hunt….think back to 2016 (don’t bother I wrote about it and you can read for yourselves)

Is This A Purge?

Why Support Zelensky?

I did not intend on today being a day of posts dedicated to the conflict in Ukraine and its leaders……but since the visit by Mrs. Z has made national news I figure there is more that I need to say.

For a couple of months now Zelensky has been purging the country of people that he deems dangerous to the ’cause’…..the first month or so of this conflict Zelensky started down this path…..

Before Russia invaded Ukraine, Western officials always cited corruption in Ukraine as the reason why Kyiv couldn’t join NATO or the EU. After the invasion, those concerns appeared to fall by the wayside as the US and its allies shipped billions of dollars worth of weapons and economic aid into Ukraine.

But Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s recent firing of two senior officials has brought the issue back up. Zelensky sacked his top prosecutor and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) over allegations that many people in their departments were collaborating with Russia.

A Western official close to the Ukrainian government told Politico that Zelensky’s move appears to move away from the EU’s request for Ukraine to crack down on corruption and allow its law enforcement agencies to be more independent. Many anti-corruption activists believe the firings were an example of Zelensky using his wartime powers to consolidate more control.

Just a few months before Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, the US was still calling out the government of Ukraine for not appointing a corruption prosecutor. “The EU and the US are greatly disappointed by unexplained and unjustifiable delays in the selection of the Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Office, a crucial body in the fight against high-level corruption,” the US Embassy in Kyiv said on October 6, according to The Associated Press.

In June 2021, President Biden was asked if Ukraine will join NATO and said, “The fact is they still have to clean up corruption.” While Biden has expressed concern about Ukraine’s corruption, his family has benefited from it. After the US-backed ousting of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in 2014, then-Vice President Biden’s son Hunter landed a high-paying job on the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian natural gas company.

The State Department dismissed concerns about Zelensky’s latest firings. “In all of our relationships, and including in this relationship, we invest not in personalities; we invest in institutions, and, of course, President Zelenskyy has spoken to his rationale for making these personnel shifts,” State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters on Monday.

Earlier in the war, Zelensky banned 11 political parties, including the country’s leading opposition party, Opposition Platform — For Life. But the move received little criticism from the West.

(antiwar.com)

Corruption?

And they think that since cash and weapons are pouring into the country….and corruption is suppose to cease with these purges….are we that naive?

Since the beginning I have not been a fan of Zelensky…there is much about the man that is been suppressed as the conflict rages….I do not think that we should put all our eggs in the Ukrainian president….

Volodymyr Zelensky, the embattled President of Ukraine has taken the world by storm. It seems everyone on Earth is singing his praises. It can be easy to feel that he deserves his legendary status. It is almost impossible to imagine him as anything less than a superhero pushing back against tyranny and saving the world. Is this a realistic characterization that anyone can live up to?

The war in Ukraine is a devastating and painful mess of towering misfortunes. In making sense of this disaster, it is very difficult to separate ourselves from the finality of what may seem inevitable. We try to interpret this tragedy in ways that make sense to us, we fall back to our ancient stories of good versus evil, David versus Goliath. Yet unfortunately our ancient stories and modern analogies are no use to us in the 21st century, in reality they don’t help us understand the danger the world faces.

They do present convincing arguments when there is derisory emphasis on peaceful solutions to the war. We have to ask what is the goal in this war? We can assume the goal is to save lives, we can assume the goal is victory. By learning what’s most important we can more greatly understand the progress being made. Of most importance is for the war to de-escalate immediately.

It must be understood that escalation takes us in the wrong direction, because a war against a nuclear armed power can’t be won. Without this crucial realization the most impossible things become possible, like a hero saving the world. Of course it’s essential to have inspiration and motivation in trying times, but it’s also essential to be practical.

Why We Should Not Admire Zelensky

I have asked many times….what is the end game for the US?

The defeat of Russia?  We know that is not going to happen.

What is the national interests for the US (beyond the most obvious)….

To preserve democracy?  That is a joke.

There is no interest in any end to the suffering of the Ukrainian people?

All American opinions are based on the ‘expert’ advice of the retired generals (who work for the M-IC) and group we should NOT trust at all….

Listening to television commentary and interviews of retired U.S. generals, one would be forgiven for believing Russia is on the ropes, and Ukraine was winning the war. Looking at on-the-ground battlefield reality in Ukraine, however, it quickly becomes apparent that the generals’ boasts continue a decade-long trend of rosy combat proclamations that all too often turn out to be disastrously wrong. American media, Congress, and the public need to start applying a little more scrutiny to what these officers say.

For example, retired Gen. Ben Hodges said last week that the “Russians are exhausted,” from four months of fighting and that if “the West sticks together through this year, then I think (the war) will be over (early 2023).” Earlier this month, retired Gen. Mark Hertling told a CNN audience that as Ukraine “gets more and more artillery” from the West, Hertling concluded that he believes “you’re going to see a gradual turn in the tide.”

On July 10th, former Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, Gen. Jack Keane – echoing Generals Hodges and Hertling – told Fox News that despite Russia’s progress in the Donbas, the “Ukrainians still have a real opportunity…to take back territory and we should not underestimate them.”

And yet, there is little credible evidence to suggest that any of these claims are accurate.

Why Do We Keep Listening to the ‘TV’ Generals on Ukraine?

These people are employed to keep the population squarely behind the decisions to piss away much needed American funds.

We, the People, should be outraged at the prolonging of this conflict and yet we stand by and make excuses for the waste of funds needed in this country to carry on a war that yet again has NO viable end (a position the US finds itself in every war since 1945)….

This day in History!

On this day in 1919 the movement known as Fascism was born……

Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini was the first twentieth-century fascist dictator in Europe.

Source: On this day in 1919: Mussolini founds his radical Party and modern Facism is born

Moving on to the meat of the thought……

I recall in history class we use to talk about the suspicion that some governments had that they had “spies” in all positions keeping an eye on their bosses….making sure that they stayed on track with the approved dialog.

Off the top of my head there was that political experiment in Germany and the one within the Soviet Union….controlled for political purity…..ring any bells?

What made me think of those weasels of history was something I read about the Trump admin…….

The White House has installed political appointees at Cabinet agencies to track secretaries’ loyalty to the president and his agenda, the Washington Post reports, citing unnamed officials. Under the unusual arrangement, which has created tensions within the Cabinet, White House aides sit in on Cabinet meetings and report to White House deputy chief of staff Rick Dearborn (above left, with Trump adviser Stephen Miller).

From the Washington Post:

The political appointee charged with keeping watch over Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt and his aides has offered unsolicited advice so often that after just four weeks on the job, Pruitt has shut him out of many staff meetings, according to two senior administration officials.

At the Pentagon, they’re privately calling the former Marine officer and fighter pilot who’s supposed to keep his eye on Defense Secretary Jim Mattis “the commissar,” according to a high-ranking defense official with knowledge of the situation. It’s a reference to Soviet-era Communist Party officials who were assigned to military units to ensure their commanders remained loyal.

That is what makes for a strong government….trust those around you…..secure political purity.
Speaking of spying on people…..
Is it possible that the president could spy on his political opponents?

The controversy continues over President Trump’s Twitter storm accusing President Obama of wiretapping him. On Monday, members of Congress peppered FBI Director James Comey with questions about the claims, who once again dismissed them as lacking support. Even Devin Nunes, the Republican chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, who originally defended Trump’s claims, has defected. “I don’t think there was an actual tap of Trump Tower,” the congressman said last week at a news conference. None of these statements seem to have affected President Trump, however, who continues to stand by his accusations.

One More Putin Foe

There seems to be a trend occurring around Russia’s Putin…..opponents seem to die off all around him….

It was that ex-spy in London that was poisoned in his tea….then there are the homegrown opponents that die in Russia….and the opponent in DC that was found dead in his apartment…..and we can add another one to the ever growing list……

For the second time in less than two years, Russian dissident Vladimir Kara-Murza was suddenly stricken ill and hospitalized in Moscow this morning. At this moment, he is unconscious, in intensive care, and on life support. His symptoms today are identical to those of two years ago when he was hospitalized under highly suspicious circumstances with many believing he had been poisoned. His wife and three children live in a suburb of Washington D.C.

Vladimir is perhaps the most authentic, articulate, informed, reasoned, effective, and persistent advocate for reform and decency in Russia. He has carried his message to audiences in Washington, and across Europe and his own country. He played a key role in the passage of the Magnitsky Act which restricts travel to the US and freezes the assets of designated Russians whose violations of human rights standards have been especially pronounced. Vladimir is also courageous beyond words. After his friend and colleague Boris Nemtsov was murdered outside the Kremlin almost exactly two years ago, Vladimir chose to return to Moscow to advocate for reform in Russia. He did so at considerable personal risk and sacrifice.

Seems this is a typical reaction by a Russian leader…..can you recall the purges that Stalin was famous for?  The old saying comes to mind…”slow and steady”….

Monday Night Massacre

Anyone else noticed just how many apologists for Trump there are now?  They are usually the same ones that accused so many others of being an Obama apologist.  And how pathetic it was to be an apologist.   Funny how that works, huh?

I remember back in the 70’s and one Pres. Nixon…..during the Watergate investigation he decided to rid his government of those people that he did not like beginning with his attorney general………a political purge……

You see  throughout history the “great” leaders have eventually had a purge of their government…..Besides Nixon there were such notables as Hitler, Stalin and now there has been another one in Washington……

Shortly after the inauguration Trump lost many within the State department…..

State Department senior leaders resigned from their positions. The senior State Department leaders were reportedly asked to leave via letter in what is believed to be an effort to “clean house” at the department.

While the officials technically resigned, the real decision was for the Trump Administration to accept what are pro forma resignations at the beginning of any administration.

Also among those not asked to return to service was highly controversial Assistant Secretary for Europe Victoria Nuland, who seemed to work tirelessly to damage US relations with Russia. Nuland openly supported a coup in Ukraine, handing out bread to protesters, as well as working behind the scenes to form the post-coup government.

By “cleaning house” at the State Department, President Trump is going to be able to exert even more influence in shaping the department for years to come.

Monday night, 30Jan17, the purge continued…….

An Obama holdover who was temporarily running the Justice Department just got fired by President Trump after an act of defiance. Mere hours after acting attorney general Sally Yates said the department would not defend Trump’s refugee executive order in court while she was in charge, Trump made sure that she was no longer in charge. Her announcement was largely symbolic anyway, notes the New York Times, given that nominee Jeff Sessions is expected to assume the office of attorney general in a matter of days, perhaps even Tuesday. In the interim, Yates will be replaced by Dana Boente, the US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, reports Politico.

A White House statement said Yates “has betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States,” adding that she is “weak on borders and very weak on illegal immigration.”

Shortly after the firing of Yates the other shoe fell……

President Donald Trump replaced the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Monday with another director from within the organization.

Trump replaced Daniel Ragsdale as acting director with Thomas Homan, ICE’s executive associate director of enforcement and removal operations since 2013. Ragsdale will return to his position at deputy director, the Department of Homeland Security said on its Twitter page.

Slowly but slowly Trump is assuming complete control over the government…..and there is a name for this action…….

This concludes my posting day…tomorrow will be here and I shall return….have a day my friends….chuq

Soviet-Style Purge?

Remember the days of the Cold War, when the USSR would change leadership there would be a huge purge of those that were in bed with the previous premier?  Stalin did it…..Krushev did it…..on and on……they would purge these people because they did not fit into the grand plan……..but all that stuff just has the smell of what is happening in the US Congress…..NO!  I am NOT calling these people communists!  Only that there are similarities on the events occurring now…..

I will bet that you, my reader, is scratching your head and wondering just what the Hell I am going on about, huh?

The other day, the #3 GOP leader, Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee is resigning as the head of the Republican conference in his resignation he said…..”Stepping down from the Republican leadership will liberate me to spend more time trying to work toward results on the issues I care the most about,” he said.

Sounds good and promising….but personally, I think he was purged because he is a moderate Repub in a sea of extreme conservs……in a Senate where compromise is a dirty word….a senator like Alexander is an unwanted person in a leadership capacity….he may want to put smiley face on his resignation….but the truth is he was PURGED!

And no matter how much a smiley face or some noble BS…the truth is that he is a moderate and in such is NOT capable of passing the purity test….and they cannot have a moderate in a position of leadership….I say again….HE WAS PURGED!

Will The Purges On The Right Continue?

For months now, possibly years, the GOP and the RNC have been moving more and more to the extreme Right….,in 1994 the neocons got to take over Washington and the Congress and it has continued with GW and on to the present…..

The radical right has declared a war on the middle and the liberals of the party…..calling them RINOs, Republicans In Name Only, and in doing so they are purging as many of these people as possible….looking for a more “pure” conservative…..very few of the GOP have come to the defense of the liberals of the Party….the silence is an indication of the fear within the Party….FEAR?…you mean the GOP is playing the “fear card” on itself?….you betcha (he said with a wink)…..

The radical Right jumped into the election in NY-23 and backed a candidate, not the GOP candidate, but rather one that was on the Far Right……Now they are doing the same thing with Crist in Florida, these neocons are backing a far right candidate Rubio…is this the future of GOP politics?…..

Good question and there is an even better answer……..YES IT IS!

Why would I say that?  The RNC has issued a memo with a “purity” test enclosed and it reads like this:

(1) We support smaller government, smaller national debt, lower deficits and lower taxes by opposing bills like Obama’s “stimulus” bill;

(2) We support market-based health care reform and oppose Obama-style government run health care;

(3) We support market-based energy reforms by opposing cap and trade legislation;

(4) We support workers’ right to secret ballot by opposing card check;

(5) We support legal immigration and assimilation into American society by opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants;

(6) We support victory in Iraq and Afghanistan by supporting military-recommended troop surges;

(7) We support containment of Iran and North Korea, particularly effective action to eliminate their nuclear weapons threat;

(8) We support retention of the Defense of Marriage Act;

(9) We support protecting the lives of vulnerable persons by opposing health care rationing and denial of health care and government funding of abortion; and

(10) We support the right to keep and bear arms by opposing government restrictions on gun ownership.

There you have it…if you want the support of the RNC…you must have eight of the 10 on the checklist…..Jeez!  This is all too familiar….the Left did it back in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s until they were NOT even close in the elections even though they had some good ideas….they marginalized themselves out of relevance……

With members fleeing the GOP like rats from a sinking ship…is this a way to increase and strengthen the Party?  Sounds like wishful thinking….the GOP is steering the ship of conservatism into the rocks……..
