I Said What?

Rep. Steve King of Iowa has a loong and disgusting history of making insulting and racist comments and statements.

Congressional Republican leaders agreed to strip Rep. Steve King of his positions on House committees Monday after he lamented in an interview with The New York Times that the term “white supremacist” had become offensive.

The Iowa Republican tried to clarify that he rejects white supremacy, but with his long history of creating uproar across the nation with his racially-charged comments, those objections largely fell on deaf ears.

While defending his remarks in the past, the Iowa Republican has claimed he is regularly misquoted and that he doesn’t trust most media outlets.

Before his recent re-election, King was under fire for reports that he met with members of the Freedom Party, a political organization founded by a former Nazi SS officer, during a trip to Europe funded in part by a Holocaust memorial nonprofit.

Some of the remarks he has made in the past……

Finally the GOP has grown a spine and stepped up and acting against King for his blatant racism…….

“This is not the first time we’ve heard these comments,” McCarthy said of King’s remarks. “That is not the party of Lincoln and it’s definitely not American.” McCarthy met with King for an hour before House GOP leaders decided to kick him off the committees. “White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization—how did that language become offensive?” King wondered in a New York Times interview last week, in which he described the Democratic Party as “no country for white men.” After losing his committee seats, King claimed his remarks had been misunderstood and said McCarthy had made a “political decision that ignores the truth.” (King was defended by David Duke after a controversial tweet in 2017.)

After years of out right bigotry what made the House decide to do the right thing and punish this toad?  Was this just the GOP trying to find a way to change the conversation?

I am pleased they did act but it is not enough….there should be NO place for a bigot in the US House of Representatives.  Period!

Did He Or Didn’t He?

This Omarosa thing is just about as silly as anything can get…..but the reaction of Our Dear Leader is even sillier……Omarosa has said that Trump used the “N” word and of course the president said he did not……

The long-rumored “Trump Tapes,” alleged Apprentice outtakes in which the host uses the n-word, are in the news again—and President Trump is insisting that they don’t exist. Trump tweeted Monday night that Apprentice executive producer Mark Burnett had called him “to say that there are NO TAPES of the Apprentice where I used such a terrible and disgusting word as attributed by Wacky and Deranged Omarosa.” He was using his new nickname for former Apprentice contestant Omarosa Manigault Newman, who says she heard a tape in which Trump used the slur multiple times during filming. “I don’t have that word in my vocabulary, and never have,” Trump said in his tweet. “She made it up.”

Tom Arnold, who has previously claimed to have the tapes, tweeted Monday night that Trump and Burnett are lying, the Hollywood Reporter notes. “Apprentice Employees gave statements about @realdonaldtrump saying multiple ‘n’ words on the set of @ApprenticeNBC & 100 other horrible things,” Arnold said. “I spoke to 2 Executive Producers & Mark Burnett in person. They all said Trump’s a liar & there is #TrumpTapes.” Trump administration official Lynne Patton issued a statement Monday night saying she spoke to former Apprentice producer Bill Pruitt and he firmly denied ever playing the damning tape to Omarosa, reports Business Insider. The tape “is a figment of her imagination and merely a destructive tool of manipulation applied only when it best serves her interests,” she said.

Maybe he did not use the insulting word but in the same vain he attacks from a sexist point of view…by calling this woman a dog…..

Omarosa Manigault Newman’s book on life at the White House is officially out on Tuesday, and President Trump already has a preemptive strike: “When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn’t work out,” he tweeted. “Good work by General Kelly for quickly firing that dog!” It’s a continuation of an attack he started Monday, when he referred to his former ally as “wacky” and “vicious, but not smart.”

Time notes that Trump has frequently used “dog” as an insult, pointing to a New Republic article from three years ago that was rounding up examples even then. Victims ranged from Glenn Beck (He got “fired like a dog” by Fox) to Arianna Huffington (“She is a dog who wrongfully comments on me.”)

Why do so many Americans support this bully and his bullshit insults of people?  This is just another chapter in the life of a president that resort to bullying instead of reason thought and debate.

Sensationalism at its best!

Children dying in the Middle East from airstrikes and this is the “Big” story of the day….this is pathetic on so many levels.

Birds Of A Feather?

The “Flock” is getting larger.

It is interesting to see all the legal allegations swirling around the GOP and its leaders….(I need to say here that the situations that I post here are just allegations and not a done deal)…..

Of course the most loud news is around the Dear Leader and his knowledge of what Russia has done and if he was part of the attacks….then there is Our Dear Leader’s children and what they knew about any tampering that may have occurred….and the people that were part of the campaign that are in legal jeopardy as I type….

Now let’s go to the Trump administration….the cabinet…..corruption runs deep from Zinke to Ross to Pruitt…all of whom were part of the GOP legislative institution…..that are now under investigation for their misuse of taxpayer funds on purely personal things.

What about the House of Representatives today…..well there is the sexual abuse allegations that Rep. Jim Jordan is said to have been aware of but failed to act……many wrestlers from the Ohio State team have come forward and Jordan was an assistant coach at the time……(more info from a post I wrote)…….

Then just yesterday another member of the House of Representatives was arrested for insider trading……

Rep. Chris Collins, R-N.Y., has been arrested on insider trading charges lodged by the Justice Department, law enforcement officials said Wednesday morning.

An indictment obtained from a federal grand jury also charges Collins’ son, Cameron Collins, as well as the father of his fiancee, Stephen Zarsky.

The indictment relates to Australian biotech company Innate Immunotherapeutics, on which Collins served as a board member.

In June 2017, Collins passed nonpublic information about Innate’s drug trial results to his son in order to help him “make timely trades in Innate stock and tip others,” the indictment alleges.

This GOP is a greedy, corrupt lot……my personal opinion.  Most no longer have any integrity that they can mortgage….

Let me say here that these are allegations against some politicos….no one has been convicted……and in this country contrary to what most Righties feel….everyone is innocent until proven otherwise……(that unless you may be Liberal then all allegations are spot on)

QAnon?

Closing Thought–02Aug18

What the f*ck is this all about?

A few nights ago I watched a Florida rally that was given by Our Dear Leader…..and as usual he gave a litany of his usual points (I would call them high points but they were scraping the bottom of the barrel) and as usual he had something derogatory to say about the news media in attendance…..and the usual response by those in attendance was to yell obscenities and gestures toward those in the press area.

In the low IQ audience I saw several Tees and signs with QAnon….and thought I had missed something…..and apparently I have……

“Q WWG1WGA Trump 2020 Keep America Great! MSM is the enemy,” read the sign spotted by the AP at President Trump’s rally in Tampa on Tuesday night. There are plenty of letters on it, but one stands out: Q. NPR reports that other signs and T-shirts read “QAnon,” a reference to a conspiracy theory that’s picking up steam on the far-right and beginning to garner enough attention that it came up during the White House press briefing Wednesday. What you need to know:

  • There actually is a Q: “Q” began posting to 4Chan in October 2017 and then shifted to “the even more fringe” 8Chan as well, per the Daily Beast. “Q” happens to be a type of high-level government security clearance, which Q claims to have. The “Anon” part is apparently a reference to both the anonymous Q (who uses the plural “we”) and doubles as a reference to Q’s fans: the Anons.
  • The lingo doesn’t stop there: Q is purportedly disseminating top-secret info via “breadcrumbs,” which the Daily Beast characterizes as “part poem, part ransom note”; “bakers” follow the crumbs. “No name” is John McCain, “clowns” are those who try to undermine Q.
  • A breadcrumb: The Beast gives this example, posted in June: “Think SC vote to confirm (coming). / No Name action. / Every dog has its day. / Enjoy the show. / Q”
  • The conspiracy theory: Thanks to that government clearance, Q claims to know about a “worldwide criminal conspiracy,” which NPR reports revolves around Robert Mueller—who, per Q, isn’t investigating Trump’s campaign or the 2016 election at all. Rather, he was put in place by Trump to investigate Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and other Democrats, with some (like Huma Abedin) supposedly being tracked via secret wearable location devices in advance of the coming “storm”: when they’ll all go to prison for crimes Q followers believe could be anything from participating in a pedophile ring to having a secret pact with Vladimir Putin.
  • The conspiracy theory, II: To show how wide-ranging things get, the AP writes, “filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, the Rothschild family, and Satan also make appearances in discussions.” Another element: the belief that JP Morgan was behind the sinking of the Titanic. The Tampa Bay Times cites one Q proponent as saying Trump’s misspellings in his tweets are clues. CNN adds that the fact that Trump used the number “17” on a number of occasions in his speech Tuesday night fired up clue-seeking Anons, who noted Q is the alphabet’s 17th letter.
  • Background on “the storm”: In an October 2017 meeting between Trump and military leaders (who, per QAnon thinking, urged Trump to run for president in order to go after the aforementioned criminals), Trump made reference to “the calm before the storm.”
  • The high-profile follower: Roseanne Barr is an “Anon,” just not an anonymous one: She’s tweeted about QAnon a number of times, including this in late June: “we r the army of truth-wwg1wga.” The “wwg1wga,” stands for “where we go one, we go all.” (Side note from the AP: Valerie Jarrett, the subject of Barr’s now infamous tweet, plays a role in some QAnon theories.)
  • Why QAnon is getting more press this week: The Washington Post says Tuesday’s Tampa event highlighted the fact that QAnon isn’t just relegated to the corners of the internet at this point.
  • The White House response: CNN reports QAnons have been pushing for the press to ask Sarah Sanders about Q, which apparently happened Wednesday. Her reply: “The president condemns and denounces any group that would incite violence against any individual.”

There is more for those interested……..

This bullsh*t is getting tiring…….the fact that there are morons (I apologize to verified morons) who cannot differentiate between reality and crap smeared across social media.  But then where would Dear Leader be without the mental midgets that worship the ground he walks on?
