SCOTUS has done so much to roll back any progress this country has made but their stupidity on voting takes the cake.
Some think it will take decades to recover but others think we could never recover from this betrayal of the American ideal by SCOTUS…..

MTG has got under the skin of our clueless leader and he cannot go without some sort of insulting or disgusting comment and MTG’s 60 Minutes interview has Donny pissed and firing back.
One person who caught Marjorie Taylor Greene’s interview on 60 Minutes? President Trump, who unleashed a barrage of insults against the former ally and outgoing congresswoman in a Truth Social post on Monday, reports Fox News. Greene, for her part, had a succinct response.
- “The only reason Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown (Green turns Brown under stress!) went BAD is that she was JILTED by the President of the United States (Certainly not the first time she has been jilted!),” Trump wrote, misspelling her name. He also used the “traitor” nickname that Greene said in the interview has led to death threats against her.
- In the interview, Greene had said she was “America First,” not MAGA, but Trump said she is neither. “She sort of reminds me of a Rotten Apple! Marjorie is not AMERICA FIRST or MAGA, because nobody could have changed her views so fast, and her new views are those of a very dumb person.” At another point, he called her a “low IQ traitor.”
- Trump also took aim at CBS and parent Paramount for airing the interview and demanded a “complete and total APOLOGY.” He pointed to Paramount’s agreement to pay him $16 million over a Kamala Harris interview, and he accused interviewer Lesley Stahl of separately libeling him over a previous report about Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop.
- The Hill notes that Green responded to Trump’s broadside later Monday, tweeting, “I AM AMERICA FIRST,” and borrowing one of Trump’s signature lines: “Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Okay for me it is a great day to see Donny get his “depends’ in a twist.
I watched the interview and she seems to be authentic in her disgust and criticism of Donny…..now if more people will step forward and show some guts then maybe we can see the real dictator in waiting for who he truly is….although many of us already have a good idea.
This train wreck is just too interesting to look away….

For several months this batcrap crazy has been bad mouthing the GOP and even Donny and he has been uncharacteristically silent on her statements…..but that changed over the weekend….
President Trump has publicly called it quits with one of his most stalwart MAGA-world supporters, calling Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene “Wacky Marjorie” and saying he would endorse a challenger against her in next year’s midterms “if the right person runs,” per the AP. Accusing the Georgia Republican of going “Far Left,” Trump wrote Friday on Truth Social that all Greene had done in recent months is “COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!” As for Greene’s purported irritation that he doesn’t return her phone calls: “I can’t take a ranting Lunatic’s call every day.”
The dismissal of Greene—once the epitome of “Make America Great Again,” sporting the signature red cap for President Biden’s 2024 State of the Union address and acting as a go-between for Trump and other Capitol Hill Republicans—appeared to be the final break in a dispute simmering for months, as Greene has seemingly moderated her political profile. The three-term US House member has increasingly dissented from Republican leaders, attacking them during the just-ended federal government shutdown and saying they need a plan to help people who are losing subsidies to afford health insurance policies.
In a response to Trump on X, Greene wrote that Trump had “attacked me and lied about me.” She added a screenshot of texts she said she’d sent the president earlier in the day about releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files, which she said “is what sent him over the edge.” Greene called it “astonishing really how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level,” referencing next week’s US House vote over releasing the Epstein files. Writing that she’d supported Trump “with too much of my precious time, too much of my own money, and fought harder for him even when almost all other Republicans turned their back and denounced him,” Greene added, “I don’t worship or serve Donald Trump.” More on their spat here.
Now everything is back to normal…..she rages and Donny retaliates…..
How will this yanked support effect her chances of re-election next year?

Marjorie Taylor Greene says her escalating feud with President Trump is putting her in physical danger, reports Mediaite:
- “I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world,” she tweeted Saturday. “The man I supported and helped get elected.”
- “As a Republican, who overwhelmingly votes for President Trump’s bills and agenda, his aggression against me which also fuels the venomous nature of his radical internet trolls (many of whom are paid), this is completely shocking to everyone,” wrote Greene. “I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel.”
- As NBC News reports, Greene has broken publicly with Trump on a number of issues of late, including the release of the Epstein files and a foreign policy she says betrays his “America First” promises. Trump responded in force Friday and Saturday, denouncing Greene on this Truth Social platform as “wacky,” calling her a “disgrace” to the Republican party, and withdrawing his previous support of her. Meanwhile, some Democrats were reveling in the feud, notes Politico. “I’m here for you girl,” tweeted Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who has publicly sparred with Greene. “I told you not to trust him… all he cares about is HIMself.”

Greene’s history is marked by inflammatory remarks, including support for violent Facebook posts about Democrats, offensive comments about the Holocaust, and personal attacks on colleagues. These incidents led to her removal from House committees in 2021 and her ejection from the House Freedom Caucus in 2023. Despite her past, Greene now says she wants to “put down the knives in politics” and is calling for greater kindness and unity: “I’m leading the way with my own example, and I hope that President Trump can do the same.” Of the root of their disagreement, she said, “Unfortunately, it has all come down to the Epstein files, and that is shocking.”

She is at it again!
I am amazed at the 180 done by the GOP Congresswoman that was a thorn in the side of the Speaker for several years…..she made a spectacle of herself at almost every turn….and now something has happened.
When Pelosi announced that she was retiring from the House I would have expected some off the cuff comment from her…..but instead….
“I will praise Nancy Pelosi. She had an incredible career for her party. I served under her speakership in my first term of Congress and I’m very impressed at her ability to get things done. I wish we could get things done for our party like Nancy Pelosi was able to deliver for her party,” she said. “So, um, I wish her well in her retirement, but I would like to see people exit Washington a lot sooner rather than wait until they’re 80.”
That is so out of character from her earlier rhetoric….what is happening?
She has gone after the MAGA people hard and she even basically called Donny a liar with all his BS about lower grocery prices….
President Trump is pushing to reclaim affordability as a Republican issue, but he’s getting pushback from a big name within his own party. Marjorie Taylor Greene once again broke ranks with the president, this time in a CNN interview, reports the Hill. Asked whether she agreed with Trump’s assertion that prices were falling under his administration, the Georgia congresswoman replied:
- “No. I go to the grocery store myself. Grocery prices remain high. Energy prices are high. My electricity bills are higher here in Washington, DC, at my apartment and they’re also higher at my house in Rome, Georgia—higher than they were a year ago. So, affordability is a problem.”
After the GOP election losses on Tuesday, Trump argued that Republicans missed the boat on messaging, not policy. “We are the ones that have done a great job on affordability, not the Democrats,” he told reporters, per the AP. “We just lost an election, they said, based on affordability. It’s a con job by the Democrats.” On social media, he also declared the affordability issue “dead” for Democrats after citing a report that a typical Thanksgiving meal at Walmart was cheaper this year.
The Walmart comparison has some problems that have been widely pointed out, but Greene isn’t buying it, either way. She suggested that presidents often operate in “a cone of information” shaped by their staff, per Newsweek. “That could be the case here.” Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows grocery prices are up nearly 3% from a year ago.
After each of these recent statements I have continually asked…..what is her deal? This is so out of character that is is mind blowing after her past interactions.
Even Donny has tried to explain her change in attitude…..(we knew he would hjave to slip in his two cents eventually)
Things have gone sideways between President Trump and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene following Greene’s ongoing criticism of the POTUS. Trump on Monday distanced himself from the Georgia Republican, who had long been one of of his staunchest supporters, USA Today reports. “I don’t know what happened to Marjorie,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “She’s a nice woman, but I don’t know what happened. She’s lost her way, I think.” MTG quickly responded with a statement: “I haven’t lost my way. I’m 100% America first and only!”

A smooth operator, MTG was ridiculed in glossy liberal pubs as the first “QAnon candidate” to win a seat in Congress. But she was never a joke. Though Joe Biden won the 2020 election, Tr*mp actually received more votes than in 2016, and Republicans gained seats in Congress.
MTG’s success embodied the far-right’s rising momentum, even in the wake of Tr*mp’s 2020 defeat. Immediately, she positioned herself as an election denier and anti-vaxxer, once suggesting mask mandates were equivalent to the Holocaust. When her old Facebook posts musing about the hanging of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and antisemitic conspiracies were uncovered, it only helped her popularity.
Within months, she became one of Congress’ top fundraisers.
Eventually, MTG turned her megaphone against other Republicans, and only saw her fundraising hauls skyrocket. She forged a strategic partnership with deposed House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, and called for Mike Johnson’s replacement.
At the time, other Republicans questioned her motives. “It is an opportunity for her to raise a lot of money very quickly,” a GOP strategist told the New Yorker.
This makes since…..money is a prime motivator in politics.
But is it the only thing driving her right now?

There is lots of talk these about the possible demise of democracy….personally I think we are stronger than that….but that is just me….
I read this article about other tyrants across the globe and their attempts/advice on doing the unthinkable….
The leader of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is an ally of Trump. As is the leader of Hungary, Viktor Orban, another authoritarian society. So is the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, to which Trump has shipped Venezuelan nationals (1 percent of El Salvador’s entire population, including 3,000 children, are held in megaprisons, where they are subject to torture).
Argentina’s President Javier Milei, who rose to power carrying around a chainsaw to “slash the overgrown state,” seems to have inspired Elon Musk’s brandishing a chainsaw at a recent rally of conservative allies.

These are all part of a global anti-democracy movement.
Narendra Modi, India’s prime minister, is acting on a theme promoted by Trump: Harass and strangle nonprofits you don’t like. Modi’s government obstructs and even dismantles nonprofits and human rights organizations by weaponizing the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), which governs the receipt and use of foreign donations by nonprofits. Without FCRA certification, nonprofits are barred from international donations.
Other autocrats, who got a head start on Trump, are now using his example to go even further.
The Hungarian government is orchestrating a crackdown on gay people far beyond anything Trump has done so far to reverse the protections that prior US administrations extended to gays and other vulnerable groups. And Orban is citing Trump as cover for these actions.

We stand on the precipice of a dilemma and we have only to take our eyes off the democratic prize and we could very well lose that which so many have fought to preserve for centuries.

As expected once Harris named Tim Walz as her VP the attacks and the sleazy would commence and it has….
That idiot war hawk in the Senate Tom Cotton accuses Walz of some sort of collaboration with China….
Within hours of Tim Walz being declared winner of the Democratic “veepstakes”, Republican accusations that he is pro-China came thick and fast.
“Communist China is very happy,” Donald Trump’s former ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, said on Twitter/X. “No one is more pro-China than Marxist Walz.”
Tom Cotton, a Republican senator, said Mr Walz owed an explanation “about his unusual, 35-year relationship with Communist China”.
MAGA War Room, an influential X account supporting Donald Trump, unearthed a 2016 video in which Mr Walz told the farming policy outlet Agri-Pulse that the US and China did not need to have an “adversarial relationship”.
But what does the record show? Republicans may want to weaponise Mr Walz’s links to China, but it’s pretty slim pickings.
Mr Walz’s personal relationship with China does indeed extend back decades.
It began in 1989 when, fresh out of college, Mr Walz began a Harvard University volunteer programme teaching American history and English at the Foshan No 1 High School in southern China.
He later set up a business with his wife Gwen organising annual summer educational trips to China. The venture lasted more than a decade and by his own estimation, Mr Walz returned to the country around 30 times.

Tim Walz continues to make headlines, as the public learns more about him, and as the GOP goes on the attack. But one law the Minnesota governor signed last year is drawing special attention, as well as generating a new derogatory nickname.
- The law: The bill included a mandate to provide free menstrual products to students in fourth grade all the way up through 12th. CBS News calls it an effort meant to address “period poverty,” when students can’t afford necessary pads and tampons. NPR notes Minnesota is one of nearly 30 states that has such a law in place.
- GOP attack: “Tampon Tim put tampons in boys’ bathrooms,” Karoline Leavitt, a Trump campaign rep, said in a statement to CBS. She made a similar claim Tuesday on Fox News, noting, “As a woman, there’s no greater threat to our health than leaders … who support putting tampons in men’s bathrooms in public schools.”
- More: Other right-wingers also came out swinging. “She actually chose Tampon Tim,” Stephen Miller, an ex-adviser to former President Trump, wrote on X after Vice President Kamala Harris announced Walz as her running mate. Chaya Raichik, who runs the far-right Libs of TikTok social media account, posted a picture of a box of tampons with Walz’s face superimposed on it and the words “Tampon Tim” written across the front of the package.
- Fact check: The Star Tribune‘s editorial board lauds the “compassionate” law and calls the attacks against it “ill informed,” pointing out there’s no mandate to put menstrual products in boys bathrooms—the law’s language simply allows for the products to be placed where those who need them can access them, like unisex bathrooms or the nurse’s office. “This has unfortunately been used to stoke ongoing culture wars over transgender individuals,” the authors note.
- Misfire? Some say the GOP’s campaign against Walz won’t work. “Friends, this attack will backfire,” writes Nancy Kaffer in an op-ed for the Detroit Free Press (this columnist agrees).
- Big-name pushback: NPR notes that “many on the left see ‘Tampon Tim’ as a compliment, including the Minnesota congresswoman who was the chief sponsor of the bill in the state House. “This law exemplifies what we can accomplish when we listen to students to address their needs,” wrote Rep. Sandra Feist, using the #TamponTim hashtag. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton weighed in as well, noting, “How nice of the Trump camp to help publicize Gov. Tim Walz’s compassionate and common-sense policy.”
Is this the best the GOP can do?

Swiftboating?
For those with short memories let me take you back 20 years to 2004….
The term swiftboating (also swift-boating or swift boating) is a pejorative American neologism used to describe an unfair or untrue political attack. The term is derived from the name of the organization “Swift Boat Veterans for Truth” (SBVT, later the Swift Vets and POWs for Truth) because of their widely publicized—and later discredited—political smear campaign against 2004 U.S. presidential candidate John Kerry. Since the 2004 election, the term has come to commonly refer to a political attack that is dishonest, personal, and unfair.

I bring this blast from the past up because the Trump minions are swiftboating Walz…..
JD Vance appears to have settled on a line of attack against his rival to be vice president, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz—and it revolves around military service. The details:
- Walz served in the National Guard for 24 years before retiring in 2005 to run for Congress in Minnesota. Politico notes that Walz filed his paperwork to run in February 2005, roughly a month before reports came out that his unit might be deployed to Iraq and about five months before the official orders were issued.
- A former Guard colleague, Al Bonnifeld, says Walz knew of the potential deployment and wrestled with whether it was the right time to run for office. “He told us that he wanted to run for Congress, and he was in a tough spot, because he was pretty sure we were going to Iraq,” Bonnifield told NewsNation, per the Hill. But, Bonnifield noted, “we didn’t have orders. We didn’t have any kind of orders at all.”
- The Washington Post has one of the most thorough explorations of all this here. It includes the views of those such as Bonnifield, who praise Walz’s service, as well as those who served with Walz and are critical of him.
- Vance is essentially accusing Walz of cowardice and of inflating his service, attacks reminiscent of the infamous “swift boat” attacks on John Kerry in the 2004 election over his Vietnam War record, per USA Today. The story notes that Chris LaCivita, who led the attacks on Kerry, is now a senior adviser to the Trump campaign. The criticism of Walz on this front has surfaced previously in his Minnesota elections, without success. (Two Guard retirees wrote this scathing letter in 2018.)
- Vance also is calling attention to a Walz quote from a campaign event a while back in Minnesota (and being trumpeted by the Harris-Walz campaign) in which he referred to the “weapons I carried in war.” Walz never saw combat, prompting Vance’s jab: “Well, I wonder. Tim Walz, when were you ever in war?” For the record, Vance served four years in the Marines and went to Iraq, but he served in a communications role there and did not see combat, either, per the New York Times.
This is not all that surprising for when you have no defined policies then you personally attack your opponent hoping that the idiots will fixate on the BS and not on their lack of direction.
It worked well when used against Kerry and Trump hopes it will once again be a death blow.
This election is all about jibes and insults not policies and solutions.
