DEI? WTF?

We all have heard about the air tragedy in DC….two planes collided and fell into the Potomac and everyone has died. As usual the world is looking for reasons and answers…..and the most damn absurd reason has come from Trump and his idiot minions and supporters….

President scapegoats diversity and inclusion initiatives while addressing air traffic disaster that left 67 dead

Donald Trump used the plane crash in Washington DC to attack his political enemies, claiming Democrats were responsible for declining standards in air traffic control and that the disaster “could have been” caused by diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies at the Federal Aviation Administration.

Trump turned what might have been a sombre a press conference into a baseless rant against DEI, despite no evidence of a link with the crash at Ronald Reagan Washington National airport, which involved an American Airlines jet and a US military helicopter.

The president was backed by the transportation secretary, Sean Duffy, who said “we can only accept the best and the brightest” in positions affecting passenger safety, and the defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, who said: “The era of DEI is gone at the defense department and we need the best and brightest.”

Then came the vice-president, JD Vance, who claimed, “we want to hire the best people … actually competent enough to do the job”, and said without offering evidence that hundreds had sued the US government because “they would like to be air traffic controllers, but they were turned away because of the color of their skin”.

Trump claimed that “very powerful tests” for competence in air traffic control were “terminated” by Joe Biden. He also claimed that when he was president between 2017 and 2021 the US “had a much higher standard [in air traffic control] than anybody else”.

Pressed on his citation of DEI as a cause of the crash, Trump said: “It just could have been.”

Posts where I report on the deaths of US soldiers…..this time it is in my state and not from some armed conflict in an international hell hole……

 I am sorry to report that there has been a plane crash that cost the lives of 16 US soldiers……

A US military plane crashed into a field in rural Mississippi on Monday, killing at least 16 people aboard and spreading debris for miles, officials said. Leflore County Emergency Management Agency Director Frank Randle told reporters at a late briefing that 16 bodies had been recovered after the KC-130 spiraled into the ground near Itta Bena, about 85 miles north of Jackson in the Mississippi Delta. Marine Corps spokeswoman Capt. Sarah Burns said in a statement that a KC-130 “experienced a mishap” Monday evening but provided no details. The KC-130 is used as a refueling tanker.

Andy Jones says he was working on his family’s catfish farm just before 4pm when he heard a boom and looked up to see the plane corkscrewing downward with one engine smoking, the AP reports. “You looked up and you saw the plane twirling around,” he says. “It was spinning down.” Jones says the plane hit the ground behind some trees in a soybean field, and by the time he and other reached the crash site, fires were burning too intensely to approach the wreckage. The force of the crash nearly flattened the plane, Jones says. “Beans are about waist-high, and there wasn’t much sticking out above the beans,” he says.

My sympathies go out to the families of those troops that perished in the place crash.

Bombs Away!

Last week, if you can remember back that far, all the rage on news sites was the plane crash in Egypt……that Russian plane that fell from the sky killing everyone on-board….there had been a massive amount of news that talked about this speculation or that and the one that everyone seems to be fixating on is that it was a bomb and that bomb was set by no other than our nemesis…..ISIS.

Good news reports….that is if they are accurate.

Now why would I say such a thing?

In case you are not aware I spend a lot of time reading Middle East and North African news sources and I get stories that most Americans will probably never be exposed to at any time…..

There seems to be a bit of confusion about this tragedy……

Egypt’s military junta so stubbornly denied that the recent bombing of a Russian Metrojet plane over the Sinai Peninsula was an act of terrorism that they didn’t even initiate their own investigation into the attack until a week after the plane went down, and then only after several nations banned flights to the region. Publicly, much of the leadership still doesn’t acknowledge even the possibility of an ISIS attack.

This narrative appears to be getting broadly embraced by the Egyptian media, as several are now claiming that not only was there no bomb on the plane, but that Western nations invented the idea of a bombing as a plot to undermine the junta and “scare off tourists.”

Various outlets, both state-run and the private media that the junta hasn’t shut down yet, are advancing this as a broad Western “conspiracy” against Egypt, and are labeling Western reports of the plane being bombed as “terrorism” against Egypt.

Interesting turn of events…..I can see where they are coming from…..but are they just denying the facts or is there something to their accusations?

MH17: How long?

How long is the media going to keep their news circus going?

MH17 is very similar as the other Malaysian flight……not the action that caused it but rather the media and its handling of the tragedy.  Both disasters had very little info to report but yet the MSM kept the missing plane and now the shot down plane in the news with so much filler that it is becoming nauseating.

Do not get me wrong……there is nothing routine about the deaths of so many people……what is disgusting is how long they, MSM, can keep the world focused on the fact that they have NO real facts to go on.

MH17….it has been a week of he said she said….accusations and limited amount of facts…….conspiracies should be flying……it was US fault…..then it was Russia’s fault…..then it was the separatists fault and then the Ukrainians were to blame…….and in all this time they facts they have are sparse…..people died, plane crashed and a rocket was fired……debris is scattered over 10 miles and it is not secure….there are the facts and we have heard the same ones over and over…the redundancy is getting sickening.

The US has issued report after report that it was a missile that brought the plane down….and the question is who fired it?

(Newser) – Senior US intelligence officials said today that Russia was responsible for “creating the conditions” that led to the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, but they offered no evidence of direct Russian government involvement. The intelligence officials were cautious in their assessment, noting that while the Russians have been arming separatists in eastern Ukraine, the US had no direct evidence that the missile used to shoot down the passenger jet came from Russia.

The officials briefed reporters today under ground rules that their names not be used in discussing intelligence related to last week’s air disaster, which killed 298 people. The plane was likely shot down by an SA-11 surface-to-air missile fired by Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine, the intelligence officials said, citing intercepts, satellite photos, and social media postings by separatists, some of which have been authenticated by US experts. But the officials said they did not know who fired the missile or whether any Russian operatives were present at the missile launch. (See who Russia blames for the horrific crash.)

Okay, Russia did not fire the missile….then why the sanctions?

Is it because that Russia has sent military hardware to the separatists and it was possibly used to cause death?

Keeping with that moronic logic should not the US be sanctioned for the military hardware we send to Israel that is used to cause so many deaths?

Help me out here.

Beyond all that…the media needs to let the people mourn and only report when there is actual new information that needs to be put out there.

Here is another thought to contemplate……..we know how much McCain and his band of lunatics has railed about sending weapons to the Syrian rebels…..could MH17 be a warning?  MH17 is an example of what could go wrong while arming militants.

Flight MH17…..Another Doomed Malaysian Flight

We all have heard the horrendous news of yet another Malaysian flight has met with a disastrous end……and as usual there are battling and conflicting accusations as to whom is to blame for destroying this plane and its passengers…..Separatists say it was the Ukrainians….Ukrainians say it was the Separatists….Russia is blaming the Ukraine military and the US is speculating but have not offered up an accusation as of yet….and then there is McCain, who is basically blaming Obama for the destruction of flight MH 17….because we have not sent all the weapons that he, McCain, thinks the Ukrainians need and deserve….

Personally, I think McCain is being a partisan twat….using this tragedy as a political prop is despicable….and usual McCain spends a lot of his time thumping his chest like a crazed ape….and this situation is No different……..

While stressing that it’s too early to know anything for sure, McCain said on MSNBC that the crash has the “earmarks of a tragic mistake made by someone who had the capability to just shoot down an aircraft, and we know at least from the last couple of weeks that that could be Russian or separatist Russian capability,” reports Politico. If that proves to be the case, “I think there’s going to be hell to pay and there should be.”

In an appearance on CNN, he made similar points and added that it might be time to “give the Ukrainians the ability to defend themselves,” reports Slate. In Moscow, meanwhile, Vladimir Putin pinned the blame squarely on Ukraine, though he was speaking in general terms: “I want to note that this tragedy would not have happened if there were peace on this land, if the military actions had not been renewed in southeast Ukraine,” he said. “And, certainly, the state over whose territory this occurred bears responsibility for this awful tragedy.” The AP has the full text of his remarks.

As typical of McCain he rattles off some vague BS and the NeoCons applaud…….but what is the Hell they will pay?  He conveniently leaves out any details….another typical McCain ploy

McCain is getting tiresome……plus only the most radical and ignorant among us take him seriously anymore…he use to be a statesman….now he is just an angry old man that plays way too many games.

What Price, A Plane?

For over a month the world has been on the edge of their seats dying from anticipation on the exact location of the Malaysian plane…….we have had NO news only speculation for that month…….here debris…there debris……and a ping or two…..well as of yesterday there is a good possibility that the pings heard may be the missing plane……which will be good….I am sick of all the “experts” and their wild eyed speculation…….

All that aside I was wondering….what is the cost of this search?  And now there is an answer to that question……….

As searchers listen for pings in the Indian Ocean that might help them find the missing Flight 370, Reuters assesses the cost of the hunt after a month and finds that it’s on track to become the most expensive search in aviation history. Reuters figures that the militaries of Australia, China, the US, and Vietnam have spent $44 million already, about the amount spent in the two-year search for the Air France jet that went missing in 2009. The $44 million total doesn’t take into account civilian aircraft or the cost of accommodating hundreds of intelligence analysts and other personnel worldwide. Add those expenses in, and the total is in the “hundreds of millions of dollars.”

Australia is leading the search and has borne about half the costs so far, though Prime Minister Tony Abbott said the nation may ask others to defray its expenses later. “At some point, there might need to be a reckoning, there might need to be some kind of tallying, but nevertheless we are happy to be as helpful as we can to all the countries that have a stake in this,” he said. The Pentagon estimates that the US has spent $3.3 million so far. With no sign of the pings in two days, the search could drag on and on, reports AP. Australia plans to release a submersible to scan the ocean floor, but it hopes to get a more precise location before doing so.

Now I would like to ask…..Is this desperate search to save Boeing’s rep or is it for the closure of the families?  That may sound like a cold hearted question….but it needs to be asked…….for one reason…..we are spending money willy nilly but yet those poor people needing help are “free loaders”….I understand the need for closure……but at what price?

The Bomber Crash

The US Air Force says the bodies of two airmen have been recovered after a B-52 bomber crashed into the Pacific, off the coast of the US territory of Guam.

A rescue team is continuing to search for the remaining four crew members

The plane was due to take part in events to mark the island’s Liberation Day, commemorating the end of Japanese occupation during World War II.

B-52s are one of the oldest aircraft still flown by the US military. The cause of the crash remains unknown.

The Air Force said the identity of one of the bodies had been established but is being withheld until the crew member’s family had been informed.

Local and military search teams are involved in the search for the remaining crew members, combing about 70 square miles (180 sq km) of ocean, a spokesman for the US Coast Guard Section Guam, Lt Elizabeth Buendia, said.

This was a real shame and it is the second plane crash off the Island.  But my first thought was…since the B-52 is a primary weapon of war and sometimes carries a full compliment of nukes….how many were on this flight?  If they were aboard, what is the danger to the people and environment of Guam?
