Firearms: What We Need Is A Good Scare!

Ever noticed that when the media hands us a crisis to be afraid of, then gun sales hit record heights……there is of course ISIS and Ebola and….well hard to pen down the crisis du jour for Americans….but as I have said…..we need a good……why?

The number of Americans who live in a household with at least one gun is lower than it has ever been, according to a major American trend survey that finds the decline in gun ownership is paralleled by a reduction in the number of Americans who hunt. According to the latest General Social Survey, 32% of Americans either own a firearm themselves or live with someone who does, which ties a record low set in 2010. That marks a significant decline since the late 1970s and early 1980s, when about half of Americans told researchers there was a gun in their household. In 1977, 32% said they lived in a household with at least one hunter, but less than half that number say so now.

Data from the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System suggest the total number of firearms being purchased is going up. But those are concentrated in fewer hands than they were in the 1980s, the General Social Survey finds. The poll found that 22% of Americans own a firearm, down from a high of 31% who said so in 1985. The survey also finds a shrinking gender gap in personal firearm ownership, but a growing age gap, with 14% of adults under age 35 and 31% of those over age 65 saying they personally own a gun. In 1980, younger adults were only slightly less likely than older ones to report that they owned a gun.

Maybe the NRA should work harder on ‘everyone’ owning a gun and stop worrying about the price of bullets…..if they lose any more support then the firearm industry will have to kick in more cash….and if that is not profitable then they may have second thoughts about their bought and paid for politicians……

However the recent shooting in Ferguson ought to make sells soar again….thanx to the media.

Whatcha think?

How the NRA Rewrote the Second Amendment – Michael Waldman – POLITICO Magazine

This post ought get the blood to boil……..we know what some think……an interesting piece of historical events…..

BTW, will the morons please stop telling low IQ Americans that the government is coming for your guns……it is pure bullshit and lies……sad but appears that some are secretly hoping it is true so they can say….”see told ya so”………..(where’s that chip when we need it)…….

How the NRA Rewrote the Second Amendment – Michael Waldman – POLITICO Magazine.

Could Not Happen In Days Gone By

We all are well aware of the knee jerk reactions of those ditterheads on the Right……remember back in the good old days when the Tea Party was having all their protests around the country?  All the “Don’t Tread on Me” rhetoric and flags……(is there a reason that flag has a YELLOW background?) We got a front row seat thanx to the MSM……and we got to see the gun nuts show up with their loaded handguns and assault weapons…….and they were allowed to demonstrate their particular grievance……all the while carrying a loaded weapon…..

All this got me to thinking back in the days when I was a strong radical and protester……I got to thinking what would have happened if anyone of us had showed up with loaded weapons while protesting the war?  Would we have been met as some sort of hero?  Very doubtful!  And yet these same people are protesting the government and threatening to carry out some sort of armed resistance….Is that not what you were worried that us “pinkos” were trying to do?

Why would I bring this up today?

(Newser) – There’s a pretty disturbing result in a new Fairleigh Dickinson University poll on gun violence out today: 44% of Republicans say they believe that “in the next few years an armed revolution might be necessary to protect our liberties.” To be fair, Republicans aren’t alone—27% of independents and 18% of Democrats agreed with the statement as well—but the GOP was the only group in which more agreed with the sentiment than didn’t.

The poll raises some “disturbing” questions, writes David Sirota at Salon. Like, how many Republicans “are buying weapons to arm themselves in order to foment an armed revolution? Maybe none, but maybe a lot. I don’t have an answer, but this poll suggests the question should at least be aired.” Second, can democracy even exist “when almost one-half of one of the major parties seems to support the concept of violently thwarting it?” You could argue that these people are only hypothetically supporting a revolution “to protect liberties.” But then, in the “incendiary language” the conservative media uses, “everything in the Democratic/liberal agenda is an assault on ‘liberty.'” Click for the full column.

And now there is a plan for thousands of gun “people” to show up on the Mall in DC on the 4th of July with loaded guns as a protest against the government…..

When is enough enough?

sorry I could resist this image…..

What would these douche bags have said if a Leftist had showed up with a gun?…..would they have accepted the 2nd amendment argument?

These people are making me sick.  They are the sole protectors of so-called “liberty”….a term that few understand or embrace…….it is a con job, one that has been used numerous times in history to do what is unpopular……a dangerous game is being played by the NRA and others and in the end innocents will pay the price……

Gun Freaks?–Let It GO!

Warning:  This post will be insulting to those people that are running in fear from the government….if you are offended then I have succeeded in my effort!

I swear that I want to stop writing about the gun debate, but the NRA twats will not let it go!  And I feel that I most set the record straight because the NRA or FUX or the whack-a-doo0dles will not….someone most tell it like it is……why not me?  I would go quietly into the night if the pea brain, moronic dipsticks on the Right would just shout the Hell up…….but…..NO!

We all know that the background checks bill was defeated because the Repubs were jumping on the talking point that it would create a regisdtry of gun owners and that somehow would lessen our ability to acquire the types of guns that we desperately need to protect ourselves and our families…..and we know that then the government would waltz in a take all our beloved forearms from us leaving us at the mercy of said government…….is that about what they are all bitching about?

I have two things to say on that front…..first, for you mental deficient that live in Wayne’s (LaPierre) World……………….  THERE IS NO ONE COMING FOR YOUR GUNS!  Especially someone from the government!

Second, the Boston bombers had a shoot out with the cops….recall that?  Well, the handgun used is in the possession of the FBI and thet are tracking it to see where it leads….(think about that for a moment)

Third, I have asked this question before and got little response….either they are too stupid to know of what I speak or they are just fucking lazy……so to help out I will say it once again…please pay attention so that I do not have to repeat myself needlessly……I am guessing that all you law abiding gun freaks bought your firearms legally…….you went to Academy or Wal-Mart or whatever, a licensed firearms dealer……and when you dropped your wad of cash unto the counter you had to fill out an ATF Form 4473…..and on the this form your put your name address and section B of said form the type of gun, handgun, rifle, etc is filled in…..the serial number, maker, caliber, all the important stuff….and once the sale is made the form is submitted….

How do you think that the FBI and PDs run ballistic checks that tells gun, caliber and….listen closely…..OWNER!  You got that you slow witted twat?  You are on record!

Guess what you bubble brains…..there is already a registry….how else could the gun to tracked?

Are you people paying attention?

There is already a registry and if you have bought a gun legally then you are already on it!

So let the NRA keep fanning that piece of bullshit…….the only people that this pack of asshats is helping or protecting is the gun industry….they are making sure that they get their pound of flesh from the people and you people keep falling for one con job after another by the NRA.  By the way……your AR-15 is as worthless as tits on a boar against a Cobra….if you think that the government that you are so afraid of will come light to take your guns….then you are a bigger idiot than I first thought!

In case you missed it earlier……There is NO one coming for your guns!

Selling Crap!

Just when I thought it was safe for me to move beyond this sham of a debate….something always happens to draw me back…….

December of 2012 saw the deaths of 20 children and 6 adults because of a whacko with an assault weapon……..immediately the calls went out from the Left…..control guns….and immediately the screams of gun confiscation went up from the Right……and the NRA went on its massive fear program to turn anything substantive into a fear of total gun confiscation….the government is coming for your guns…..

Let me reiterate something I have been saying for years in response to the crap the NRA and its lackeys are selling….there is no one coming for your goddam guns!  Can you hear me now?

The NRA is selling you a load of crap!  They know and you know it!  And yet you allow these overpaid lobbyists for the firearm industry continue to make your mind up for you……..why?  One question I would like an answer to, please…..just what has happened in reality that leads you to believe the smoldering pile of crap fed you by the NRA?

Now the selling of crap comes from the media……in the beginning they were all over the control thinmg and now they are selling the toothless piece of crap known as ‘background’ checks….watch the news and then think back to the days following Sandy Hook……notice anything?

Back in the 90’s when there was a push for the elimination of assault weapons the NRA tried to oppose it by championing background checks and yet today it is taboo…..why is that?  Personally, I think that the check things is still an NRA issue and by opposing everything including the checks they will get the toothless law they originally wanted……background checks.  Every time you buy into this false argument you are illustrating just how mentally challenged you are…….

As far as the registration of your firearms goes……..something that the NRA and others (too numerous to mention) are still screaming about the government does not need a list of the guns and who owns them……are you fuckers high?

Ever heard about a PD ballistics match?  Where do you think that info comes from when asked?  Now, have you ever bought a gun from a retail outlet?  Ever heard of ATF form #4473?  In case you forgot….it is the form you fill out when purchasing a gun…..it has your name, address, type of gun, serial number and maker….and guess what…it is on file……got the….On File!

How many times must I go over this before it sinks in to the thick skulls?

One more time (for effect)……There is NO one coming for your goddamn guns!

Now we have a couple of senators that have a proposal on background checks and they are being portrayed as the saviors of a gun violence bill…..it is a proposal people…..that does not mean a damn thing, one way or another only that they will talk some more….and we know how that usually goes, huh?

Just in case you have not been watching……

(Newser) – The push for gun control is poised to take one tiny step forward today, as it appears the Senate has the votes to get a debate off the ground. The Hill expects today’s action to set off a weeks-long debate. But despite a bipartisan compromise on background checks, don’t expect smooth sailing:

  • The NRA came out with a statement last night saying it is “unequivocally opposed” to the Safe Communities, Safe Schools Act of 2013, and specifically called out the “misguided ‘compromise’ proposal drafted by Senators Joe Manchin, Pat Toomey, and Chuck Schumer,” reports the Huffington Post.
  • The public is “far ahead” of politicians on gun control, said VP Joe Biden in a Morning Joe appearance today, per Politico. “You saw it in immigration, marriage issues, you’re seeing it now. The public has moved to a different place.”
  • Case in point: 91% of military veterans support background checks, according to a survey by one liberal group, reports Politico. Vets also support banning high-capacity ammunition magazines (61%), and 58% favor banning assault-style weapons.
  • If debate does indeed get off the ground today, it’ll be just the third time “in a generation” that a meaty gun measure has hit the floor, reports the Los Angeles Times. It spoke with Senate officials who say gun rights advocates plan to take a similar tack as last time: Stretch out the debate on amendments, particularly ones that would broaden gun owners’ rights; hope Democrats running next year in conservative states back them; then hope so many of those amendments pass that gun control advocates sour on the bill.

There is more on the new feel of bi-partisanship……the MSM is doing all they can to promote this new found cooperation…..it is a con!

(Newser) – Washington elites are no doubt applauding Joe Manchin and Pat Toomey for attempting to forge a gun control deal. That such tense negotiations are necessary, even though most Americans and at least 51 senators support comprehensive background checks, “isn’t considered particularly distressing or embarrassing,” observes Alex Pareene at Salon. And if it is, the media has a ready villain: extremists, such as that dastardly Rand Paul. Moderate John McCain recently expressed bewilderment about Paul’s tactics, saying, “The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote.”

If that’s true “McCain has a bit of explaining to do,” Pareene argues, because he’s twice helped defeat filibuster reform. Contrary to popular belief, the Senate has always been polarized. What’s changed is the abuse of the silent filibuster, which has made “an already undemocratic body even more undemocratic.” If gun control fails, it won’t be because of Paul’s crew. It’ll be “because people like John McCain have worked quite hard to protect their rights to halt any legislation they please whenever they want for any reason.” Click for Pareene’s full column.

My grandfather had a saying that pretty much covers this whole debate…..’Common sense is like deodorant…..those that need it never use it”……..

We can stop pretending…..nothing of substance will ever be passed……just a pile of crap they sell to the voter.

Last Shooting Post

I was gonna let this subject lie around and give all my conserv friends the space to rant and rage……I listened to the much hyped response from LaPierre of the NRA and could not let this go without a bit of press from me……

Like I said….I was not going to comment any further…..but after the speech……I shook my head and started salivating…..

Here’s a sampling of the reaction to today’s speech by NRA exec Wayne LaPierre, who blamed video games, movies, and the media for creating a culture of violence and called for armed guards in every school:

New York Daily News: “For all that advocates of sensible gun-safety measures have said in the past seven days, nothing did more to discredit the merchants of weapons of death than their own chief advocate’s callous rant.” LaPierre “just shot himself in the foot.”

Erika Johnsen, Hot Air: The armed-guard idea is probably too expensive, but “I am completely on board with the sentiment that this immediate reaction against all types of guns is ridiculous, and the very idea of merely declaring schools to be ‘gun-free zones’ as the best method of protecting our children is utter folly.”

Matt Gertz, Media Matters: Columbine had an armed guard.

Rachel Maddow, via tweet: “The NRA has rickrolled the whole country into watching just another standard Wayne LaPierre stump speech saying we need more guns.”

Matthew Yglesias, Slate: Putting an armed officer in every school would cost at least $5.4 billion a year, based on an average salary of $55,000.

Mashable notes that NRA-related hashtags sprang up quickly and rounds up some notable ones here.

The conservative Daily Caller says that the NRA may not like reporters, but the feeling is mutual based on tweets from journalists during the speech. Examples here.

The NRA set up a website for its “National School Shield” here.

This is just unbelievable…..Sorry….but LaPierre’s comments were a joke…….why?  Where will the cash come from to pay these “guards”?  Communities are lacking funds for basic services then where will it come from?  His comment was a joke because it was all about the sale of more guns than trying to find real solutions to the problem……..BTW…..NO ONE IS COMING FOR YOUR GUNS!  Stop using that tired old lie!
