The Shame Of It!

I was not going to wade into this whole mosque thing after my initial post, but as usual thing s have changed…..this weekend there was a massive protest, both pro and con, on the building of the mosque at “ground zero”….first of all, it is two blocks away from the sacred ground….but that is not what I am talking about……

Then what?

The HATE!  I watched the reports on the protest most of the weekend and saw such hate that it scares me….I mean several people were verbally assaulted not because they were Muslims, but rather because they looked like a Muslim (whatever that means)….the hate was everywhere…Americans are NOT Islam-phobic that HATE Islam, at least the mental midgets at the protests.

To my conserv friends…please disavow these dickheads…..this whole hate thing is going to be an embarrassment to the country and to the conserv movement….once again the Conservs have allowed the hate merchants on the ultra-right to do all they can to define conservatism….ande the sad part is you are allowing it by your silence.

Originally, I was for the mosque on constitutional grounds but thought more consideration and sensitivity should be found concerning its construction….but now I say screw build it…if America is going to stand for anything it has got to be religious tolerance and the right of private property…….so screw the hate merchants….build your community center!

A last note on the subject….I am beginning to think that the fanatical white power boyz have successfully and covertly enter into the frays…..these protests and the Tea Party, at least the hateful side of that movement….it looks like they are getting that foothold they have so long desired and emotional exceptionalism is aiding their infiltration………..

Pay attention or you may well live to REGRET it!

Just thought I would let my readers know that this post was inspired by a comment to Quin at Quintessential Havoc (GO!  Blogroll will take you to his site…thoughtful and insightful) about the religious and political theater developing over the mosque in NYC.

In case you were wondering….a VOMITORIUM is where people go to pass on political regurgitation…..and this subject is all about such an occurrence…..

Second, I am by NO means condoning nor condemning the idea of a Islamic Center near Ground Zero…..what I will speak about is the whole affair through the lens of the US Constitution…..

Holy Crap!  Did you hear what the President had to say about the building of the center near ground zero?

“As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country,” Mr. Obama told an intently listening crowd gathered at the White House Friday evening to observe the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

“That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances,” he said. “This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable.”

And after he said that…the firestorm of the fanatical Right began firing the shots at what the Prez had to say….it was going to be inevitable…..

Gingrich, a Republican and former House speaker, also condemned the president’s comments.

“There is nothing surprising in the president’s continued pandering to radical Islam,” Gingrich said. “What he said last night is untrue and inaccurate. The fact is this is not about religious liberty.”

Gingrich said that the proposed mosque and community center would be a symbol of Muslim “triumphalism” and that building it near the site of the Sept. 11 attacks “would be like putting a Nazi sign next to the Holocaust museum.”

This is just pure political bullsh*t….you Know it…they know it!
This is NOT an issue that needs to be spent time on….people are starving, losing homes, unemployed and totally screwed and these dipshits want to fight on and on for something emotional…….
It is simple…..the 1st amendment of the Constitution….may I say to the creeps on the Right….if you cannot live with the laws that are given in the Constitution then scrap it and start over!  You cannot pick and choose what parts of the document you want to live by or defend….it is either ALL OR NOTHING.  And if you are not capable of doing either one….then shut the Hell up!
