Charlie Hebdo and the Profiteers of Tragedy by Justin Raimondo — Antiwar.com

The horrendous attacks in France have given the world something to disagree on……some begin their conversation with accusations……while others begin with the statement on the need to isolate these people and not become bigoted……

One of the sad facts about the cowardly attacks is the there is one group that shall profit from them…..Military-Industrial Complex.

This is a good piece written about the attacks and the aftermath…..

All’s Well That Ends Like Crap!

News that should make people realize that McCain’s opinions are as worthless as tits on a boar!

How many times have you or your family heard that great American “patriot”, John McCain,  scream about the failure of the Obama administration for not coming to the aid of the rebels in their fight against Assad and now ISIS?  How many times?

From the beginning McCain has been yelling and ranting about the need to arm and supply the rebels….of course this coming from a senator that has been wrong on foreign policy for at least 20 years……….and he screamed about Libya, Georgia (the country not the state), Syria, etc….one rebellion after another…..he spent more time in front of the cameras than some news anchors….but what about his calls for arming rebels…….

When President Obama was trying to decide whether to arm rebels fighting the Syrian government, he asked the CIA to examine its long track record on such things. The review’s conclusion? It’s usually a waste of time and money—and sometimes only makes matters worse, reports the New York Times. The review looked back over the agency’s 67-year history and found that time and time again—from the Bay of Pigs, to the Sandinistas, to Somali warlords—providing arms to insurgent forces rarely had any significant effect on how things turned out.

That proved especially true if the US provided arms without having American personnel on the ground to provide guidance, as is the case with Syria. One notable exception: The CIA provided arms and training to Afghan rebels fighting the Soviet Union in the 1980s, and the rebels eventually drove the Soviets out. However, intelligence officers from Pakistan were on the ground helping the Afghan fighters. President Obama decided last month to provide limited assistance to Syrian rebels fighting ISIS, prompting a blogger at Firedog Lake to wonder, “What’s the point of commissioning a study just to ignore it?”

Once again McCain has proved that he is nothing but a political hack and still knows NOTHING about foreign policy.

Maybe now would be a good time to stop listening to McCain and giving him a platform to spout his ignorant rants……he proves time and time again to be a front man for the Military-Industrial Complex and not a good US senator……..

Whatcha think?

Take It And Like It!

The US Congress is a complete joke…the partisan crap, the do-nothing schedule and the total lack of interest in the “common” man is overwhelming….besides it has become a joke in the rest of the “civilized’ world…..

These people and I use the term loosely spend all their time bitching about all those social programs or all those subsidies for those companies that do NOT need the money……the money being spent is all the rage now, both conserv and libs are trying to find footing in this debate….should Medicare be cut….should oil subsidies end…..should Social Security be killed….r maybe we could end a war or two……everybody has a pet bitch on spending…….

Now let us talk about the government demanding that a certain commodity will be accepted by the military….Congress in its wisdom is telling generals that have said no to the commodity that they will accept it and like it!

An article written in Daily Finance

Over in Washington, where most of America’s money gets spent, there’s a scandal brewing on Capitol Hill. Congress wants to pass an appropriations bill that would (among other things) spend $255 million to purchase 42 M1 Abrams main battle tanks. There are just a few problems with this plan.

First off, we don’t really have any enemies to “point” the new tanks at. The Soviet Union is kaput. China, arguably too valuable a trading partner to fight a war with in the first place, also happens to be located on the wrong side of an ocean. As for the enemies we do want to point guns at, years of battling tank-less foes in Iraq and Afghanistan have taught the U.S. Army that oftentimes, a mix of Humvees, MRAPs, and Strykers is better suited to modern warfare.

Which brings us to the final and most crucial reason why we might not want to spend a quarter-billion dollars on a few dozen main battle tanks: The Pentagon doesn’t even want them.

Turns out, the only reason Congress is even considering spending this money is to try to keep General Dynamics’  tank factory in Lima, Ohio, open — just in case we might need to build tanks in the future.  Would likt be the same Ohio that speaker of the house is from?

But I thought that the Congress was chastised for not listening to the generals….oh my bad….that only applies when dealing with the actions of Obama….it does NOT apply when paying General Dynamics off for their monetary support during elections….

See what is happening while the media has you fixated on the Martin case?

Always….A Better Way To Kill!

Since WW1 countries have spent more money trying to find the technology to kill better and rougher…….in history we went from swords and spears to guns to artillery to tanks to planes to missile and finally the ultimate weapon…the nuke!

Governments have shown good sense in their efforts to prevent the use of nukes ever again…..and now we have the drones, those remotely operated planes that are  used for everything from spying to assassination…..and with all that the world’s military-industrial complex is still NOT satisfied….they are working on another remote killer…..

This reminds me of a bad Tom Selleck movie set in the future where robots do a lot of the police work….and the bad guy was trying to obtain the new bullet that could be sterred to the person it was intended to kill……a little far fetched huh?  Maybe not necessarily so…….

I found this on the Wired website…….

The U.S. military has been after self-guided bullets for years. Now, government researchers have finally made it happen: A bullet that can navigate itself a full mile before successfully nailing its target.

The breakthrough comes courtesy of engineers at Sandia National Laboratory, owned by Lockheed Martin. They’ve successfully tested a prototype of the bullet at distances up to 2,000 meters — more than a mile. The photo above is an actual image taken during one of those tests. A light-emitting diode was attached to the bullet, showing the amazing pathway that the munition made through the night sky.

Of course, Lockheed’s been a longtime partner in the military’s quest for the ultimate, self-guided munition. In 2008, they scored a $14.5 million contract as part of Darpa’s “Exacto” program, which sought to develop sniper rifles with guided bullets. They’ve also been involved in the agency’s “One Shot” initiative, which is trying to develop scope-mounted lasers that can help snipers compensate for weather conditions.
