Hillary Is the Candidate of the War Machine

As long as I posted my piece on Bernie’s foreign policies….I guess to be fair I should post something on Clinton as to not look like I am biased in my writing (that was just me being humorous and I do believe I missed the target.)……

There should be no doubt in any of my readers  minds as where I stand on the US armed involvement around the world…..okay I admit it…..I prefer a peaceful way of solving flash points over armed conflict…..if that makes me an “apologist” then I accept the title…..or if someone thinks I am being “politically correct” then I will accept that analysis also…..I have had better insults leveled at me in the past…..

The media has decided that they will do whatever possible to help Clinton realize her dream of the ascension to the all powerful position of president…..and in doing so they seldom bring up the fact of her foreign funds from international sources or her close association with the defense industry…..so let me help in case anyone is truly concerned about her rise to power……

If elected she will  make damn sure that war is the ONLY reality the US has for the next decade….maybe longer.  If the candidate this stance should endear her to neocons and in doing so open the flood gates for massive funding from the M-IC…..

Is that what you are voting for?

Nation is paying a heavy price for knee-jerk military spending

My readers do not need to employ a mystic to tell them that I am a devout opponent of the Military-Industrial Complex (M-IC)……wars will always be fought but I despise the idea of this action being a money making proposition……

I am also an opponent of knee-jerk reactions to world affairs and that is what we have had in our foreign policy for damn near 50 years…..and this election is built on knee-jerk reactions to situation and issues……

I write a lot of op-eds deriding war……and when I find someone that has a cogent opposition I like to pass it on to my readers….and I found a pretty good article recently……..actually it is an op-ed…..

The US is reacting to a situation…..there is little to no professionalism in any of the decisions……

The Permanent War State

Sadly it appears as if we will be in a permanent state of war for a generation maybe more….having a life’s experience with the obscenity we lovingly call war I can tell you, my reader, that I fear for the future….if a constant state of war is what we have to look forward to in the future then……all is lost.

Okay before I get some mental midget trying to lecture me on national security I will save you the effort….I never said that I was completely against war or national defense….only that I have seen what it does to the human psyche and the body…..none of that is romantic or adventurous……

Since 9/11 the US has been on a war footing…..a condition that will last a lifetime or longer……

Yes, there are times when a nation must resort to the obscenities of armed conflict……but to do so in the name of profit is simply put….pathetic……

Money is raining down on the US military complex in the $1.15 trillion spending bill that was unveiled on Wednesday by various leaders of Congress. Of that portion, a good $572.7 billion is set aside for Pentagon expenditure. (These figures tend to be deceptive in themselves, given the notoriously unreliable accuracy of defence accounting.)

When Will Republican Candidates Speak Out About Pentagon Waste?

I have often bitched about the severe waste of cash by the Pentagon….like the multi-billion dollar flying brick, the F-35 or the Navy ship that breaks down everytime it goes to sea trials or a mine sweeping device that cannot find explosives in a room full of them and it only costs $700 million or so….there are so many others too numerous to list here……so my question is…..why?

So far the GOP has bitched about those “freeloaders” and Obamacare and how much is wasted on social programs but not one of them has stepped up and question just what the Hell is going on in the Pentagon.

I understand that they are the prostitutes to the military-industrial complex but eventually someone has got to make these spend crazy asswads to be held accountable……

A damn good question that begs an answer!

Any thoughts?

A New Breed Of “Freeloader”

How many times have you heard a Right wing go on and on about all those damn freeloaders…..you know those people that get a free ride on the government dime…..those darn pesky poor people that need some help….

Personally, I think it is idiotic but what really amazes me is the damn freeloaders that everyone ignores……people that owe taxes but can hire a lawyer to not pay taxes or those corporate moguls that hide their money offshore so they can avoid taxes….and then there are those toads in the defense industry that get freebies shoved up their butts while making billions…

The latest screwing the government has taken is in Afghanistan….and no not really talking about a $43 million gas station that took $500,000 to build…..but I am talking about the living conditions some enjoyed…..

First the Pentagon poured $43 million into an Afghan gas station that should’ve cost $500,000. Now it’s under fire for putting up a “handful” of staff and visitors in private Afghan villas, as well as shelling out for private bodyguards and fine dining—running up a taxpayer tab of around $150 million, USA Today reports. In a letter to Defense Secretary Ash Carter, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan’s Reconstruction questioned the Task Force for Business Stability and Operations’ need for “western-style hotel accommodations” that included flat-screen TVs (of at least 27 inches), food service of at least three stars, and private security services. “If [task force] employees had instead lived at [DoD] facilities in Afghanistan, where housing, security, and food service are routinely provided at little or no extra charge to DoD organizations, it appears the taxpayers would have saved tens of millions of dollars,” IG John Sopko wrote.

The TFBSO was formed in 2006 to help boost economic development in Iraq, eventually stretching to include Afghanistan in 2009, Mother Jones notes; the unit shuttered in March. The bill, which USA Today notes made up 20% of the task force’s budget, took care of “no more than five to 10” staff members and could have been significantly reduced via other alternatives: Sopko says putting up a staff of 10 at the US Embassy in Afghanistan in 2014 would have cost about $1.8 million, while a stay at a local military base would have cost next to nothing. Sopko implicates ex-TFBSO chief Paul Brinkley for the excesses and being uncooperative with SIGAR; Brinkley denies ever being contacted by SIGAR. Sopko’s letter, which Bloomberg notes is his second attempt to get an accounting, has also requested names of those who holed up in the villas, per USA Today. (Check out Sopko’s full letter.)

Just another side benefit from the privatization of the Reagan years….these people are over charging the government and still get freebies while racking in cash….

And yet a mother of 5 that gets EBT is somehow evil….and yet millions are stolen and it is somehow okay….and that my friends is pathetic.

How Popular Is Peace?

These days the term “peace” generates very little interest……

I am truly impressed by the tone of the magazine, The American Conservative…….I am by no stretch of the imagination a conservative but I find the thoughts put forth in this magazine shows some real growth for American conservatives……

Our Right leaning party is full of war hawks….mainly because most of them are owned by the Military-Industrial Complex (M-IC)…..so naturally they will be pushing more and more for military intervention to make their owners happy.

In the past I was an anti-war protester, a peace-nik, if you will and that drive me to study war and its causes and solutions……today’s world is very confusing for it seems that even the smallest event can lead to wide spread death and destruction is peace possible?

In these days when every conflict seems to spiral out of control….is peace a popular concept or for that matter, an option?

I am not saying that I agree with every thing that is written within the pages of this magazine…..only that it gives me hope that our country can once again return to sanity from the abyss of insanity……

The Neoconservatives’ Fairy Tales about Syria | The National Interest

Since the Arab Spring caught fire in Syria there has been a wealth of stories flying around news sources……many of them are nothing more than propaganda to ensure that the US would be ass deep in the region yet again.

And then the war hawks latched onto the conflict for they saw a chance to make their masters in the M-IC extremely happy…..

Some of the stories were actual fact and others were just fairy tales to make an industry slobber all over themselves……let’s talk about some of the fairy tales…..

“Sometimes horrific things happen in the Middle East irrespective of American power. Sometimes our involvement can only make them worse.”

Neocons Babble Over Syria Crisis | Consortiumnews

My regulars know that I think that our foreign policy is run by semi-literate toads….not just today but for the last 30 years.

The US has gone from one misadventure to another and no where has anyone actually question their decisions.  Why?  Simple.  The government is using the MSM as their propaganda arm……disguising the awful reality as news…..and only the news that reinforces the neocon line of thought.

Yep, I consider Obama and his band of jolly mistrals as neocons also.  Why?  He has done nothing to break the line of misadventures….using the US military as a tool for assisting the M-IC in their ever searching program for profit and influence.

The 2016 election is approaching like the coming storm and yet absolutely no one is talking foreign policy……with the exception of a slogan here and there…..there is nothing on the table to break our  continuous adventures…..

This election……no matter who wins the popularity contest will do little to stop the neocons and their pursuit of empire.   Now the War on Terror has been replaced by a new Cold War……is this the 1950’s?

My best suggestion is to just hang on to your goodies……the next prez will take us on a wild ride……and somehow I cannot see a happy ending……and the way the country is leaning….it will be disastrous!

Middle East chaos: Cock-up or conspiracy? | Middle East Eye

The insanity of foreign policy has become more and more lame……..it has been lame since the end of the Cold War and accelerated when the US invaded Iraq in 2003…..and now it is beyond a fix……with Syria, Iraq, ISIS, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Libya……..and on and on……

I have heard some claim all this is a conspiracy…..iuf one believes that the M-IC gets all the benefits of conflict them it is possible that this is all a conspiracy to sell more armaments…….

Could all this chaos be nothing more than a plan to increase profits?

Endless Wars in Middle East More About Money Than Threats by John J. Duncan, Jr. — Antiwar.com

War Is good business….invest your children!

The wars were are fighting today is more about money than any specific threat…….our wars are run by lackeys of the Military-Industrial Complex…..those defense contractors that make billions off of war…..

Once you realize that then we can have a good substantial conversation……until then just bend over and accept what the M-IC is bringing…..
