What got me to thinking about this issue was something I read about the lawmakers in Missouri……it seems that in that state it is illegal to boycott Israel…..
Missouri lawmakers on Thursday passed a bill to ban the state from doing business with companies that boycott Israel.The Republican-led House approved the measure 95-40 on Thursday, the day before their Friday deadline to pass bills this year.
The bill is in response to the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement which aims to highlight Israel’s human rights abuses.
The movement promotes boycotts, divestment and sanctions of Israeli government-linked institutions and businesses in a non-violent campaign against the occupation of Palestinian territory and other abuses.
However Israel maintains that the campaign is anti-Semitic and seeks to destroy the country.
My thought is….F*ck ’em! I have been boycotting Israel and Israeli products for decades and I refuse to let some sanctimonious ass wipes tell me that I cannot exercise my right of choice.

When Palestinians commemorate the Nakba – the ethnic cleansing of Palestine in 1948 – they are not simply remembering a past event in which over 750,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homeland, over 400 villages and towns destroyed and thousands killed.They are also marking a continued Nakba (al-Nakba al-Mustimirrah in Arabic) – an ongoing process of erasure and ethnic cleansing which has seen Palestinians ghettoised, fragmented, killed and more.
This year we will be marking 72 years of the Nakba and yet one word seems to be taking front and centre stage: annexation. Ever since the announcement of US President Donald Trump’s ‘Deal of the Century’ at the end of January this year, formal annexation of the occupied West Bank by Israel has been looming.
Israel has been trying to erase Palestine from the maps and have been killing, stealing and lying for 72 years to do just that.
Time for the West to cut the apron strings on Israel and let them stand or fall on their own……nowhere is anything Israeli in the best interests of the USA.

It seems that Congress is trying to make it illegal to criticize Israel…..or to hold them accountable for their murderous actions against an unarmed population……..
The House Committee on Foreign Affairs unanimously passed a measure on Thursday that would give the Trump administration power to decide how to punish U.S. companies that engage in or promote boycotts of Israel — including through criminal penalties.
The committee passed an amendment by voice vote from Rep. Ed Royce, R-Calif., that largely replaced the text of a bill called the Israel Anti-Boycott Act. When the original legislation was first introduced last year, it drew outrage from activists, and the American Civil Liberties Union warned that by threatening to impose steep criminal penalties on boycott activists engaged with international bodies’ boycotts, the bill was unconstitutional.
After the uproar, the initial bill, which was supported by the influential America Israel Public Affairs Committee, lost momentum. But Royce’s effort to move his version out of the Foreign Affairs Committee is part of a push to reinvigorate Capitol Hill’s efforts to use statutory means to clamp down on the growing movement to boycott, divest from, and sanction the Jewish state for human rights violations against the Palestinians.

My sentiment to the governor of New York and any other politician that tries to tell me what I can say or do……I know that when it comes to protecting Israel this country would suspend our civil rights and violate our Constitution so Israel can hide behind DC’s skirt.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s executive order opposing BDS shouldn’t have made a splash — but it did.
A handful of states had already passed similar measures opposing the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel. So had the New York State Senate — though the State Assembly version has been stalled since last year.
Cuomo’s order, signed Sunday, June 5, was merely supposed to speed up the “tedious” voting process, as he said at the signing ceremony Sunday, just prior to New York’s annual Celebrate Israel Parade.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) concluded its annual policy conference last week with a lobbying day on Capitol Hill. High on its legislative agenda was advocating for bills that would penalise Americans for engaging in their First Amendment-protected right to boycott for Palestinian rights.
AIPAC conference attendees pressed their elected officials to support the Israel Anti-Boycott Act, sponsored by Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD). The original, draconian version of this bill, unveiled at last year’s AIPAC conference, proposed to jail individuals for 20 years if they advanced an international organization’s call for a boycott of Israel, or even of products from its illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Of course the only way this movement can be fought is by labeling it as “anti-Semitic” which it is NOT…..but that plays well to the morons that will not educate themselves on what the movement is trying to accomplish. Plus you have the mental midgets like Dershowitz, a Harvard Lawyer (go figure) who spends his waking hours trying to convince readers that anyone that uses BDS is anti Jewish (which is total bullshit but what can you expect from some from Harvard?)……speaking of the governor of New York……
Cynthia Nixon, one of the stars of the “Sex and the City” television series and movies, announced on Monday that she is planning to run for governor of New York. Her decision was met with a Twitter outburst by high-profile attorney and Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, who denounced Nixon as a “bigot” for supporting an artist who refused to perform in the West Bank settlement of Ariel.
Dershowitz, who is the author of “The Case for Israel” and one of Israel’s loudest voices in America took aim at Nixon for backing Israeli actors refusing to perform in illegal settlements. Nixon’s name was just one amongst 150 American and Israeli actors, writers, directors and artists to support the 2010 campaign organised by Jewish Voice for Peace, which endorses the BDS movement. Its backing of the boycott of Israel has earned the progressive Jewish organisation a place on Israel’s BDS blacklist.

In my many years I have been on lists especially in the 70-90’s, I was watched by the program COINTELPRO and now I will once again be on another list….this time because I am a supporter of the BDS Movement…..a movement to punish Israel for their apartheid regime….
But why a felon?
The criminalization of political speech and activism against Israel has become one of the gravest threats to free speech in the West. In France, activists have been arrested and prosecuted for wearing T-shirts advocating a boycott of Israel. The U.K. has enacted a series of measures designed to outlaw such activism. In the U.S., governors compete with one another over who can implement the most extreme regulations to bar businesses from participating in any boycotts aimed even at Israeli settlements, which the world regards as illegal. On U.S. campuses, punishment of pro-Palestinian students for expressing criticisms of Israel is so commonplace that the Center for Constitutional Rights refers to it as “the Palestine Exception” to free speech.
But now, a group of 43 senators — 29 Republicans and 14 Democrats — wants to implement a law that would make it a felony for Americans to support the international boycott against Israel, which was launched in protest of that country’s decades-old occupation of Palestine. The two primary sponsors of the bill are Democrat Ben Cardin of Maryland and Republican Rob Portman of Ohio. Perhaps the most shocking aspect is the punishment: Anyone guilty of violating the prohibitions will face a minimum civil penalty of $250,000 and a maximum criminal penalty of $1 million and 20 years in prison.

As any American will tell you yesterday was the all powerful Super Bowl….personally I had better things to do that watch this spectacle….and every year the big stories are usually the ads that show during the game…this year was NO different but their was a bit of a twist……
Part of the ritual of the Super Bowl is the analysis of the adverts shown during the game, when US television networks use the large audience numbers to charge astronomical sums for commercial slots.
This year, during the first Super Bowl of Donald Trump’s presidency, the US brewery Anheuser-Busch used its slot to send a pro-immigration message to the nation.
The advert, Born the Hard Way, portrays a fictionalised version of the journey of Adolphus Busch to the US, where he would go on to help create Budweiser beer with fellow immigrant Eberhard Anheuser.
Trump supporters on social media were furious when the advert was launched before the game, vowing not to drink the beer again.
This stupidity goes under #BoycottBudweiser…..
This just illustrates the moronic air around Trump and his knuckle dragging followers…I wish I could find more polite way of putting my thoughts down….about the only one that fits is STUPIDITY.
Does not appear if any sanity will win the day for the next 4 years…..temper tantrums from our fearless leader and his throngs of demented toads…..keeps sanity at bay…..
I wish I could say this was the silliest incident but it hardly registers at all….

I have been a supporter of the Palestinian people and their struggle for more than 30 years……I am old and cannot do the same things I did in my youth to protest what I saw as injustice……the only thing I can do these days is join the BDS Movement and boycott all items from Israel.
I realize it is not much but like they say a movement begins when one person stands up to oppression…..many have joined with me in this endeavor (thanx one and all)……
But there are those in the US that are trying to kill this movement….some states are trying to make it illegal to boycott Israel or to do anything to make them act like a responsible player on the world stage. New York was the first to make it a crime to boycott Israel……even some countries are trying to make it illegal……
Sorry, but I will NOT let someone, even a state, dictate to me what I can do or not do with my time and/or money…..illegal or not…they can kiss my ass!

What should I boycott?
I am old and cannot get around as I did in my younger days……so I boycott anything Israeli….just my small part……
Sodstream….that cutesy little expensive machine that turns water into some form of soda…..the factory is in the Occupied Territories and is own by an Israeli and the factory uses Palestinians to work the plant at “slave” wages….recent the BDS has done some harm to their bottom line….job well done.
Next is Scarlett Johannson…..she resigned from a humanitarian organization within the UN to become spokesperson for Sodastream……..,I will not watch her movies or anything she does…..tome she is a douche!
Now….if you watch TV you have seen the real estate ads for ReMax…I believe there is a balloon or something featured in the ad…….time for Americans to boycott ReMax……
