Why Do They Hate Education?

For decades the GOP has had a hard on for education….they cannot stand that people are educated and feel they must stop any trend in that direction.

So what makes them hate education?

DEI, antisemitism, and transgender athletics are not the real reasons for these attacks on higher education. They’re excuses to give the Trump regime power over America’s colleges and universities.

These are excuses for this moronic attack on education especially higher education.

How Donny is going about this destruction is a simple plan and his hero Orban of Hungary had the idea….

They’re following Hungarian President Viktor Orban’s playbook for creating an “illiberal democracy” — an authoritarian state masquerading as a democracy. The playbook goes like this:

First, take over military and intelligence operations by purging career officers and substituting ones personally loyal to you. Check.

Next, intimidate legislators by warning that if they don’t bend to your wishes, you’ll run loyalists against them. (Make sure they also worry about what your violent supporters could do to them and their families.) Check.

Next, subdue the courts by ignoring or threatening to ignore court rulings you disagree with. Check or in process.

Then focus on independent sources of information. Sue media that publish critical stories and block their access to news conferences and interviews. Check.

Then go after the universities.

Crapping on higher education is also good politics, as demonstrated by former Rep. Elise Stefanik (Harvard ‘06) who browbeat the presidents of Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, and MIT over their responses to student protests against Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, leading to several of them being fired.

It’s good politics because most of the 60 percent of adult Americans who lack college degrees are stuck in lousy jobs. Many resent the college-educated, who lord it over them economically and culturally.

Behind this cultural populism lies a deeper anti-intellectual, anti-Enlightenment ideology closer to fascism than authoritarianism.

So what’s the real, underlying reason for the Trump regime’s attack on education?

Why? Because the greatest obstacle to dictatorship is an educated populace. Ignorance is the handmaiden of tyranny.

That’s why slave owners prohibited enslaved people from learning to read, fascists burn books, and tyrants close universities.

In their quest to destroy democracy, Trump, Vance, and their cronies are intent on shutting the American mind.

There is your answers and no amount of justification can change the facts.

‘A mind is a terrible thing to waste’ and just look at those in charge….what a waste.

The Late Night Two Step

Colbert has been silenced, well not until May of 2026, and of course Donny gets butt hurt when people make fun of his tiny hands or other tiny parts of his body…..and as usual he mouths what he always mouths….sue somebody.

This time is anybody who has an opinion of him and his backward policies….Beyonce, late hosts, etc.

Despite the lateness of the hour in Scotland, Donald Trump remained vocal on social media Saturday, unleashing a late-night rant in which he threatened to prosecute Kamala Harris, Oprah Winfrey and Beyonce while lashing out at news networks whose “licenses could, and should, be revoked.”

The president, who is spending the weekend golfing in the UK, wrote at 7.45 p.m. ET (12.45 a.m. local BST) that he was reviewing the large amount of money spent by his Democratic opponents “probably illegally” during the 2024 election.

Trump claimed Beyonce was paid $11 million to endorse Harris, and that she “never sang, not one note, and left the stage to a booing and angry audience!” He also claimed that Democrats paid $3 million in “expenses” to Oprah and $600,000 to civil rights activist and TV personality Reverend Al Sharpton.

There is no evidence that any of the people named in Trump’s rant were paid for their endorsement by the Democratic campaign.

“YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO,” the president wrote in a Truth Social post. “Can you imagine what would happen if politicians started paying for people to endorse them. All hell would break out!”

Typical hypocritical BS that the GOP is famous for doing….a double standard if you will.

But the one that generates the most foul mouth spewing was a recent “South Park’ episode.

“South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone had a simple response to the furor the often-controversial show stoked this week with an episode showing President Trump in bed with Satan and making fun of what they depicted as the president’s small genitals.

“We’re terribly sorry,” Parker said Thursday, holding a deadpan stare as the crowd laughed during a panel at Comedy Central’s Comic-Con.

The “South Park” season premiere drew a response from the White House, which said in a statement to The Guardian that the show “hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.”

“President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history — and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak,” spokesperson Taylor Rogers told the paper.

The premiere of the show’s 27th season also skewered Paramount over its recent decision to settle a lawsuit brought by Trump for $16 million. Paramount received approval Thursday from Trump’s Federal Communications Commission for an $8 billion merger agreement with Skydance.

The “South Park” episode that provoked the White House’s ire aired just days after Parker and Stone reached their own deal with Paramount for the rights to “South Park,” reported by Variety as valued more than $1 billion.

Parker and Stone said they were asked by their producers to blur out their depiction of Trump’s genitalia — a request they declined. And with the show being put together week-to-week, they said they were initially not sure if their first episode was going to gain traction.

This should make his tiny brain explode with ramblings and babbling BS….maybe the Dems should think about this and use it to their advantage….that is if they have the guts to do so.

Remember That Free Plane?

I am talking about the free plane that Qatar ‘donated’ to Trump to be used as the new Air Force One….now we see just how free it truly was…..is that $1 billion?

The cost to renovate a “free” Air Force One gifted by Qatar remains a tightly kept secret, with the White House classifying the price tag. But a $934 million budget transfer, quietly moved from the ballooning nuclear missile modernization program, is widely believed to be funding the overhaul, the New York Times reports, noting Air Force officials have privately admitted pulling from that total. President Trump has defended accepting the lavish “gift,” arguing it’s a win for taxpayers. However, some lawmakers and watchdogs are uneasy, pointing to ethical quandaries and the unusual use of funds earmarked for nuclear defense.

The aircraft, currently decked out with gold trim and slated for high-end security upgrades, will be transformed at a Texas facility that specializes in secretive projects. The renovations include advanced communications, anti-missile defenses, and a thorough sweep for any potential Qatari-planted bugs. The true cost remains a guessing game. While the Air Force’s top official has floated estimates under $400 million, skeptics doubt the project will come in that low, and the classified status makes it impossible to verify. That comes as Trump loudly criticizes other government upgrades, including a $2.5 billion renovation of Federal Reserve headquarters, the Times notes.

That was so kind of Qatar to ‘donate’ the plane….but to what end?

Qatar has seem to replace the US as the diplomatic dynamo…..being the intermediaries to numerous conflicts.

As evidenced by its busy diplomacy during the Iran-Israel-US dispute earlier this year, tiny Qatar has transformed itself “into the diplomatic capital of the world,” writes Nesrine Malik at the Guardian. Malik’s deep dive into the subject, based on interviews with more than two dozen diplomats and academics over the past year, seeks to explain how and why. The “why” part is straightforward. Qatar may be incredibly rich, but it’s also small and sandwiched among giant powers. For the 54-year-old nation, then, diplomacy is “existential.” The “how” part is more complicated, but it begins with the discovery of the world’s largest natural gas field in the 1990s, a discovery that fueled the country’s wealth. Then came a palace coup in 1995 that brought the reform-minded Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani to power.

Unlike his father, al-Thani decided that Qatar would no longer be subservient to Saudi Arabia. On that front, the nation launched the Al Jazeera media network, which “took Arab political discourse out of the street and on to the airwaves, challenging orthodoxies, poking at sectarian tensions and antagonizing other Arab governments.” All told, the country has leveraged the network, high-profile investments, and the spectacle of hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup to become an influential yet neutral interlocutor in international affairs. At this point, Qatar finds that “there is more appetite for its services than it can handle,” writes Malik. It received three mediation requests alone in June.

Is Qatar truly trying to be the world’s diplomats?

I have my doubts.

But I guess someone had to take up the mantle of diplomacy…..since the idiots Donny has put in charge are doing nothing to help the country or the world.
