Last Week At The Sh*t Show–06Apr25

Another week crawls by and more from Donny and his magic Sharpie….and his mob of thugs that care nothing for the direction of this country as long as they get their way.

For me the most disturbing, well it is all so disturbing, was something Donny said about a third term….

President Trump said Sunday that though it’s early to be thinking about a third term in office, there are ways around the 22nd Amendment’s prohibition on being elected president more than twice. Asked during a phone interview with NBC News if he wants another term, Trump answered, “I like working.” When asked to clarify his comment, the president said: “I’m not joking. But I’m not—it is far too early to think about it.” When Trump has mused about serving multiple terms before, he’s later said he was joking, as have Republicans.

Asked whether anyone has brought him plans to circumvent the Constitution, the president said, “There are methods which you could do it,” suggesting that one is Vice President JD Vance being elected president and then turning the office over to Trump. “But there are others too,” he said, declining to specify them. GOP Rep. Andy Ogles has proposed wording changes for the amendment to allow another term, and Steve Bannon said this month that he believes Trump will be reelected in 2028. “A lot of people want me to do it,” Trump told NBC about finding a way to hold on to the presidency. “But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.”

This clown enjoys trying to eliminate the Constitutional laws as much as possible.

DOGE that crazy bunch of idiots were suppose to save this country money….but will it?

The Department of Government Efficiency claims to have saved taxpayers $130 billion so far, but that number (which has already been dismissed by economic experts as inaccurate) fails to factor in a number of costs associated with the department. Between reports of lost tax income, the cost of putting workers on administrative leave, and DOGE’s own budget, the Elon Musk fronted unit may wind up costing U.S.

In the first two months of 2025, DOGE and the Trump administration laid off 62,530 federal workers. That was an increase of 41,311 percent from the same time period in 2024. And more cuts are likely.

DOGE and Trump are trumpeting these reductions in force as a good thing financially, saying it will save the federal government billions of dollars. So far, though, it appears to be costing much more than it has saved—with additional, much larger, losses on the horizon.

Two judges this month cited legal problems with the moves that have dramatically downsized the government, reinstating tens of thousands of workers. The Trump administration is asking the Supreme Court to halt those orders, but in the meantime it’s immediately putting many of those workers on administrative leave, giving them back pay and ongoing full pay and benefits.

The White House press pool gets a new member….

A right-wing influencer who was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to spread Russian propaganda during the 2024 presidential election has been added to the White House press pool.

On Friday, someone from Tim Pool’s “Timcast” YouTube channel will be part of the press pool covering President Donald Trump, said Will Sommer, a journalist with The Bulwark, in a social media post on X.

The decision comes after the White House stripped the Washington, D.C. press corps of its authority to decide who among its correspondents will be part of the daily rotation of reporters assigned to follow the president.

That opened the door for the White House to bring in sympathetic podcasters and influencers, even as it has banned the Associated Press from participating in the pool or traveling with Air Force One.

Does anyone else smell a Putin man in the press corp?

All this is getting a bit much with the Putin/Trump connection.

The Magic Sharpie is at work once again…

Since being sworn in as the 47th President of the US, Trump has signed a staggering number of executive orders (EO) – totalling over 100 so far.

The White House’s website states the order as directing Vice President JD Vance – ‘as a member of the Smithsonian Board of Regents’ – to ‘work to eliminate improper, divisive, or anti-American ideology from the Smithsonian’ – the Smithsonian being a group of museums, education and research centers – alongside ‘the National Zoo’.

The order also directs the Administration to work with Congress to ensure the ‘future Smithsonian appropriations prohibit funding for exhibits or programs that degrade shared American values, divide Americans by race, or promote ideologies inconsistent with Federal law’ and ‘celebrate women’s achievements in the American Women’s History Museum and do not recognize men as women’.

The order doesn’t just impact museums and centers either, also directed the ‘Secretary of the Interior’ to ‘restore Federal parks, monuments, memorials, statues, markers, or similar properties that have been improperly removed or changed in the last five years to perpetuate a false revision of history or improperly minimize or disparage certain historical figures or events’.

The silliness has hit Arlington Cemetery…..

A visitor to Arlington National Cemetery’s website earlier this year would have seen links to information about a wide range of notable African Americans, Hispanic Americans and women buried there.

Not anymore.

The Trump administration unpublished, altered, or hid content and links about all three groups buried at the cemetery ‒ one of the nation’s most hallowed military sites.

Links for other “notable graves” of veterans remain, as well as for sports figures, and leaders in politics, medicine, science and culture.

The alterations are part of a sweeping effort by the Trump administration and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to remove references throughout the department to diversity, equity and inclusion issues or “gender ideology.”

Dozens of pages and links on the national cemetery’s website appear to have been caught up in the purge.

One now-missing page on the cemetery’s website linked to 14 educational lesson plans on African Americans, including walking tours and a unit on the famed Tuskegee Airmen, according to a search of the Wayback Machine by Internet Archive. The unlinked lesson plans are still available through a web search.

Just another attempt to erase history and force some radical beliefs.

The there is real moronic waste of time from a red state…..a bill ddefines a life sequence….

Tennessee’s public schools could soon be required to teach that the keys to a successful life include following a proper sequence of events: high school, job or higher education, marriage, and then children. It’s a proposal advancing in the state’s Republican-dominant Legislature and similar to others moving in several states this year. In Tennessee, the Senate passed the legislation 25-5 on Thursday, the AP reports. It has several steps remaining in the House. “Some children are not privileged to recognize that or live within that,” said the bill’s sponsor, Republican Sen. Janice Bowling. “And so in these classes, these children will be given this key to success.”

Republican proponents argued the so-called success sequence could help lift people out of poverty by delaying life events, such as getting married before having children. Democratic opponents raised concerns that the instruction could indoctrinate students about matters that should be personal choices while making students who have a single parent feel bad about themselves. Republicans have brought similar proposals in other states, including Texas, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Ohio, according to an AP analysis using the bill-tracking software Plural. In Utah, the governor has already signed a bill. Several advocacy groups are pushing for the policy change, including the American Enterprise Institute and the Heritage Foundation.

The Tennessee proposal would require that a family life curriculum in a public K-12 school include age-appropriate teaching about the “positive personal and societal outcomes” of the sequence. Under state law, parents can opt their children out of the family planning curriculum. Democratic Sen. London Lamar, a single mother and the daughter of a single mother, said she knows a lot of people born into two-parent households whom she has far exceeded in life. “I think this bill is misguided, it’s very offensive, and I’m living proof that this bill has no merit,” Lamar said. Republican backers say the sequence is a goal supported by research, but it is not an absolute for every life situation. Critics said it oversimplifies the various factors that keep people in poverty, relying on correlation without sufficient evidence of causation.

I included this state program because if successful I see the GOP embracing it for the nation.

Finally….you know all the money that DOGE is ‘saving’ this country?  You might like to know where some of it is going…..think….golf.

Little Donny….The 78-year-old, who owns a total of 16 courses across, is still playing plenty of golf while in the White House hotseat and the costs are believed to be staggering.

It was estimated that the Trump’s presidency totalled $151.5 million for spending 293 days on one of his courses but he could well be on course to beat that.

According to a Huffington Post study, which used information on a 2019 Government Accountability Office report which focused on his first four trips during his first presidency, the Trump golf bill comes at a whopping $26,127,531.

I am sorry but as a political observer I can only summarize the Trump Administration as a….I could be crude and call it a cluster fu*k…..but I shall try to be more polite….A SH*T SHOW.

And that was there way it was last week in Foggy Bottom.

  1. For me, the erasing of history is the most sinister aspect of all this. That’s because if and when Trump and his cronies are a distant memory, it will be up to the next administration to put all that history back on record. And I am not completely confident that they will bother to do that.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. to ‘work to eliminate improper, divisive, or anti-American ideology — And just WHO makes this determination? Of course we all know, but it’s just one more example of how this country is being run … NOT via a government that’s of, by, and for … but a crazed insecure psychopath and his money-hungry flunkies..

  3. One metric you can use to judge the health of a government is to look at the things that those in control deem to be important. When a government wanders off to focus purely on ideological matters that, in the long run, have nothing to do with the actual overall welfare of its citizens, it means the government is trying to distract people from the fact that it is utterly incompetent or even acting in ways that will actually harm its citizens.

  4. Another week of chaos, lies and deceit. Working class Americans saw their savings account slashed by 25% or more, with more pain to come. Why he chose to destroy our economy beggars belief…as a very loyal Trump supporter said on CNBC Friday: “all he had to do was fix the border and cut taxes and he could have golfed his way through the next 3 years.”. Instead, he wiped out $6 TRILLION in value and for anyone who thinks that their money, check your accounts.
