We are a mere one year out from choosing our next president…..and I believe now is the time for the voter to get off their butts and start looking into the candidates and the parties.

Our country is too important to postpone decisions like these.

2 party politics is killing this country with obstruction and laziness….

As the “Big Lie” of a stolen election continues to dominate the Republican Party, GOP-controlled states enact restrictive voting laws and pursue preposterous election audits, aspiring candidates embrace the fiction of a stolen 2020 election, and a majority of GOP voters still believe Trump is the “true president,” the obvious questions follow: Where is this all headed? And is there any way out?

In one telling, the Republican Party will eventually come back to its senses and move past former President Donald Trump and Trumpist grievance politics, especially if Republicans lose a few elections in a row and realize that it’s a losing strategy. But there’s another possible outcome: More contested elections, more violence and, ultimately, a collapse into competitive authoritarianism enabled by electoral advantages that tilt in one party’s favor.

I tried to like something about the party politics but that has long since disappeared….for that reason I will work to establish a third party.

A party that actually works for the people of this country and not the cash of special interests.

So you see I have been calling for a reliable third party for many decades……but after seeing what Obama brought to the table in 2008 I saw the need yet again……then back in 2010 I was working for a friend to try and generate interest in a New Bull Moose Party…..you can read about that below….

I agree these are pretty long reads but I think the policies we championed would go a long way in repairing the damage done to this country by owned politicians of both parties.

Now with all the damage that Trump leveled on this country and its people I once again see the need for a viable third party……the key there is “viable”…..

This leaves an opening on the left for a party that represents workers, the climate and equitable society. Democrat Socialists of America’s (DSA) notion of a “dirty break” from the Democrats, where internal pressure from the left inside the democrat party eventually leads to a shift in democratic party values and actions until a “new” party forms, has no antecedent in history I can think of, and means only continued hoping the Democratic party will break from its moneyed interests, which it never will.

So, regardless of the outcome on November 3^rd, Greens, socialists, DSA, et al., need to organize together in order to stand alone in 2024 to finally represent the values and interests of people and planet, as well as offer a viable alternative to the specious promises of the Democratic party and to ensure the GOP devolves into a minority party. Even if this organization ultimately serves only to force the democratic party to the left in 2024, and take away support from the GOP it will accomplish more progressive change than the United States has seen in 80 years, in spite of the absurd and Orwellian rhetoric we have heard this year of Joe Biden being as progressive as FDR.

It all may be for naught, as societal, economic and environmental incremental change may already be too late. Yet, as someone who has seen what forced change looks like, via the Iraq and Afghan wars, incremental change is the only viable form of change that won’t destroy us, unless we have already done so.

Third Party Now for 2024

We have a far Right party (GOP) and a conservative party (Dems) it is beyond time for the rise of a true progressive party, a party of the Left if you want, and the time is no better than NOW to do so.

And this is a pretty damn good idea….a People’s Party…..

Polls show that the large majority of Americans are progressive and almost two out of three Americans are now calling for a major new party. The number is even greater among young people and poor people.

Why? We want what regular people take for granted in so many other countries: single payer health care, free public college, money out of politics, an infrastructure jobs program, a $15 minimum wage, financial regulations, and more. We deserve these good things. If other countries can deliver these things, we know the richest nation on earth can too.

What’s in the way is not our ability, it’s the oligarchs who are making so much money and building so much power from the current system. They don’t want things to change. The money has corrupted both major parties. The oligarchs have, as writer Teodrose Fikre put it, “turned America into a nation of Aspen for the rich and Appalachia for the poor and working class.”

Will the thinking people with principles within the GOP go for a third party?

The question has been asked and my answer is NO!

If anything they will go to the conservative party we already have….the Democratic Party.

Because no party holds principles that I can agree with in totality…I will work with the possibility of forming a viable third party…..the People’s Party.

Since I w2rote this draft West has decided to drop the Green Party and go it as an independent.
