Secession Is Still Popular

My Sunday is going good…hoping for lots of sunshine and garden stuff to do…..

Back in the 1860’s the first Southern state to secede from the union was South Carolina and immediately decided to fire upon a Union fort…..even though the Civil War is over some state tactics never die……

South Carolina wants to have the option of seceding from the US—again—if it feels the government does anything that goes against the Second Amendment. The Hill reports three Republican legislators in South Carolina introduced a bill Thursday that would let the state debate secession specifically “if the federal government confiscates legally purchased firearms.” It is extremely unlikely the bill passes out of the House by the April 10 deadline, according to the AP.

Rep. Mike Pitts says the bill is meant to draw attention to gun rights. “I see a lot of stuff where people even talk about totally repealing the Second Amendment, which separates us from the entire rest of the world,” he says. In 1860, South Carolina became the first state to secede ahead of the Civil War.

A silly pile of redneck manure……some states must do anything they can to get attention even when they know they have NO intention of doing anything like secession.  State legislatures are no longer working for the people of said state instead they spend all their time passing laws that do NOTHING to improve the loves of the citizens…..this is a prime example of the stupidity of these bodies.

If one has any idea about the Constitutional process then one will realize just how moronic this piece of manure really is……ever notice the people that hold the Constitution up at every turn have very little knowledge how it works…..

chuq is out for now……thanx for your visits and comments……enjoy your time and your day.

  1. Secession may be popular but it ain’t never going to happen — for very long a time. The states that secede will miss their welfare checks too much.

    1. exactly the states would miss all the money that politicians throw at them…..not happening……maybe these toads should study the Constitution beyond the 1st, 2nd and 4th amendments…..their ignorance is showing….as usual….chuq

  2. Succession to occur“if the federal government confiscates legally purchased firearms.”

This will happen right after the original Charlie’s Angels cast re-animates Farrah Fawcett’s corpse and has a weekly foursome with me. Both are the purely delusional fantasies of warped minds. Even in the HIGHLY unlikely event the US government bans -even just certain types of guns- it’s FAR less likely they’ll collect banned models sold before the ban. Would they even know who has them? This scenario is about as likely as my rejuvenated Charlie’s Angels foursome.

But if I were an American, I wouldn’t fight all that hard to keep such a state in the Union. If they have the numbers to leave, clearly they are a dead-weight-state. America would be better off without them.

      1. Oh, I know the deal. Canadians know how REAL separation movements work. Over the years, we’ve had 2 Referendums on Quebec Separation, one of which was a cheveux du chat from winning. Tabarnak!

Aside from some hardcore types, it’s mostly just a Good Cop-Bad Cop thing to wring more out of Canada. (Ironically, Bon Cop, Bad Cop is the title of Quebec’s box office topping film. Supposedly, it’s 2nd all time in Canada, behind only the legendary Porky’s.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bon_Cop,_Bad_Cop

The Good Cops demand special treatment and either get it, or the Bad Cops threaten to separate. The closer the Separatists get, the bigger concessions offered. Perhaps Ted Cruz brought the idea with him when he stopped torturing us and left to torture you. (Sorry -eh?)

Thankfully, Separatism has all but faded away…for now.

      2. I wish it would here…..but we have it every time there is a big issue at stake……if it is not Texas it is California or South Carolina….on and on….chuq
