Who’s The Enemy Today?

I re-blog this from my opinion blog, GSFP, it is the most clicked on post that I have had on that blog…not going to break any records but it felt good to see that many people wanted to read. chuq

Since I began writing and analyzing stuff the US has had a wide array of so-called “enemies”…..those entities that pose a problem to the American worldwide agenda.

Until the 1990’s Russia was our leading adversary….We have had Grenada, Panama, the Balkans, al-Qaeda, the Taleban, ISIS, Iraq and so many minor “enemies” and in all that time, since 1979, the one constant has been Iran.

These days there seems to be a couple constant ones also……Russia (again), the various terrorist organizations, Iran (as always) and North Korea.

I am an old fart so I can look back at recent history and see the long line of potential “enemies”….it is almost like the soup du jour…..it changes on a whim from the powers that lead.

I really hate to keep harping on this, but, the only enemy the American people have is themselves; their insistence on remaining ignorant, & accepting all the bullshit they’ve been buying into all their lives, is what makes them complicit in their own government’s actions…. Plus, it’s not as if none of us were warned, not only by our own founding fathers, but, for much longer. I think we all had to read the Republic, by Plato, back in school. In it, Plato pointed out, very clearly, this exact issue, to wit:

“… But when he [the people’s champion] has disposed of foreign enemies by conquest or treaty, and there is nothing to fear from them, then he is always stirring up some war or other, in order that the people may require a leader.” — Plato (428-348? B.C.), “The Republic”

It’s a sad truth, but, nobody in this country, save those who have known right along, knows dick-all about karma, which is a shame. They’d realize they are the cause of their own misery, for it is a truth of our universe that not only are we 100% responsible for what we DO, but, we are also 100% responsible for what HAPPENS TO US!

Anyone who does not accept this simple truth is failing to prepare for Life, and, thus, are also preparing to fail at it.
