Even the big news these days is not overseas but rather in Philly….the Dem Convention is underway…..while I still a interested in international relations I will be posting more on politics than geopolitics for the next few days….but never fear I will return to my fave subject after that……
You cannot turn on the TV or read a blog these days without the constant drumming of bullsh*t about the refugees……they are all worried about the influx of immigrants for they will spell the doom of the country. Of course these are same predictions that were given when the Cubans showed up and then there were the Vietnamese and I am sure that there was some of these fabrications with the Chinese or the Irish or the Italians in days past…..
Have any of these semi-literate dullards ever consider that our interventions are causing some of the refugee problems?
Maybe if they work to help stop all the conflicts then they would not need to stroke out over the refugees that they created…..on second thought probably not……they prefer to spread the lies and innuendoes like peanut butter….
I realize to some I am wasting my time….so this press is for the more literate out there….
More than 4 million Syrians have left their war-torn country since civil war began in 2011, and with ISIS on the move that human flood seeking solace is unlikely to recede any time soon. This spate of refugees comes on top of lesser-known but equally desperate migrations from the sites of early entrants into the last 15 years of war in the Mideast: From Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya, millions more seek the safety of the Western world.
The United States have been insulated from these migrant crises thanks to a lengthy, stringent refugee vetting process and the natural barrier of two giant moats in the form of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Our allies in Europe, however, have enjoyed no such guarantees of volition. Refugees are coming, whether they like it or not.

If you worry about the influx of “foreigners” then stop destroying their country…..or pay the price for the destruction. That is just too easy to bitch and turn a blind eye….we Americans have been doing that for a century or so…..
It is simple…those that create the mass migrations should pay the price for that act……simple and tidy….it will not fly….NO one likes simple and tidy especially the Right wing.
The problem with this proposition is that the migrant hordes are invading countries that had no part in the destruction of their homelands as well as those that might have participated in the destruction of their homelands. Example: What part did Sweden or Greece have in the destruction of their homelands?
That is the point…if you feel you must destroy then a plan to accept responsibility…but that is never part of the operational plan.
Exactly and it probably should never be part of the operational plan. We need to defend our security against the migrating hordes .. plain, simple and period.
Maybe then stop destroy their country….and spend the money where it is needed education, health, services to the citizens….
I have always said that we should leave other scumbag countries to fight their own damned battles. I do not approve of interventionism either — ever. I am a Monroe Doctrinist from the get go!
We should have a talk about the doctrine sometime….
Talk at your leisure. 🙂
as soon as this silly season is over I will write about the doctrine and we can go from there…is that okay with you?
Yes .. splendid!
But somebody has got to slam the door on their a$$es before they bankrupt us totally. And yet the swine in control of things still want to bing more and more and more of them in here. It is bulls**t!
Domination and subjugation through migration is what drives the majority of these so-called “Migrants” and a lot of it has nothing to do with destruction of homelands … The Vietnamese and the Chinese and the Cubans never had domination of another culture as their prime objective like we know a lot of the current crop of migrants have … and I think most of the “Migration” crisis is driven more by those living in decayed venues (Decayed through centuries of self-inflicted cultural and governmental demise) wishing to escape the mess they have made of their own countries so they can spread their diseased ideology to other countries and grab all the freebies the host countries are willing to offer in the process.
Vietnam was an internal struggle that we decided to enter….Cuban was rich people run from Castro….China…who knows and who flipping cares? You thin the Chinese or Vietnamese came for freebies? I think they would disagree with you…Cubans were a different story….
The Vietnamese families who came to my city got a free house compliments of the government, they got jobs procured for them by the government, they got free medical care, food stamps and schooling for their kids supplied by the government, my own Sons played with their kids so I know what the Hell I am talking about here. They got a lot of things that many Americans could never get if they worked their entire lives. I was here and I know what I saw. By the way they are still here and they are still dependents of Uncle Sugar. It has been years now and they are still here.
And yet you hate Muslims more…go figure.
I do not hate Muslims! I hate Radical Islam that nobody seems to have the balls to talk about. And my problem with Muslims is that it is impossible to tell which ones are radicalized and which ones are not so I find it safe to avoid them all when possible.
Funny your words seem to equate all with the few…my mistake
It is impossible to pick out the killers from the crowd. So it is safer to avoid the crowd when possible.
That will eliminate a lot in one’s life….but if it makes one feel safer then what the hey….just do it…
Yes, it will eliminate a lot of risk!
chuq,
Good article; even handed, yet nuanced. Having noted no advent of hordes, invading, migrant, or otherwise (sorry, 65,000 over a year or so is a drop in a bucket in a total population over 350 million…), and having no particular worries about immigrants, whether here by choice, or by need, I can’t say I can work up too much terror at the mere possibility of a relatively minor risk, next to the simple truth that life is all risk, no matter what events actually occur.
As you note, the entire issue is one caused by the political interventionism common to much of the world today; I can see no innocents in terms of those involved, and can only ascribe any anger about it to either unreasoned fear, manipulated by media frenzy that blows such risks completely out of proportion, or to an inability to grasp the concept that the only liberties one has are those they are willing to extend to others.
This country was founded by immigrants. I wonder how the Native Americans felt about the ‘invading migrant hordes’, coming in to take over their homes and land?….
gigoid, the dubious
I’ll catch the rest in the morning, bro….
The NAs are still kicking themselves in the ass for not killing that landing party….see you when you can my friend….chuq
I have a world Petition that I am waiting to launch that should be of interest to you. When it is time to launch it I shall definitely be hitting you up to sign. promote and endorse it. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, this Tweet works perfectly to counter the [Refugee] insanity:
If you feel threatened by [Syrian immigrants] then trade places with any in [a Refugee camp]. Be safe!
[add whatever in the space provided]
Let me know about your petition…I will put it up if you like
I most def will take you up on the offer. Just waiting for the right time to strike with it. Maybe just before, or shortly after, the next US invasion. Or, probably more likely within a few weeks before the THUGS at the UN meet again. Stay tuned!
