The War On Drugs–The Farce

I have been ranting about the massive wastes of taxpayer cash like the War on Drugs…….all those billions spent and nothing positive has happened to curb the flow of illegal drugs into the country.  If anything a case could be made that this program did more harm than good.

Prohibition comes to mind as an example of the ineffectiveness of a program……War on Drugs was the same results only 50 years later…..some things are NEVER learned.

But if you were to know what the program was really all about then you would be outraged….

Pres. Nixon was determined to have a war to destabilize the growing movements in the US….and thus the laughable program, the War on Drugs, was born……

At the time, I was writing a book about the politics of drug prohibition. I started to ask Ehrlichman a series of earnest, wonky questions that he impatiently waved away. “You want to know what this was really all about?” he asked with the bluntness of a man who, after public disgrace and a stretch in federal prison, had little left to protect. “The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

I must have looked shocked. Ehrlichman just shrugged. Then he looked at his watch, handed me a signed copy of his steamy spy novel, The Company, and led me to the door.

Cruz Lashes Out At Trump

I am by no means a supporter of Donald Trump but even I think his rival Ted Cruz is a bit over the top….Cruz takes every advantage to spread lies and other such “dirty Tricks”……of course most of it comes from his PACs so he can say that he is innocent of any of the juvenile BS…..

His, Cruz, email scams are becoming legendary….he has used them on Carson and Rubio….probably others….but his latest scam is targeted at Trump supporters…..

Believe it or not…I am NOT one of those lazy f*cks that gets my news from a single source……so yes, as much as I dislike Alex Jones and his Infowars I will check it out from time to time for news.

Then there is the cute little trick on using Trump’s wife in a racy add for Cruz…..now this should be a line…..I think anyone that would use such a technique to influence the voter is due NO respect….and is a bit classless.

So Cruz and Trump are in this infantile back and forth about each others wives…..is this what our politics has come to……two major candidates acting like 6 graders?

Donald Trump isn’t letting Ted Cruz’s wife out of his crosshairs just yet: On Wednesday night, he retweeted an insult about her looks, reports Mediaite. The tweet reading, “A picture is worth a thousand words” shows side-by-side images of Heidi Cruz and Trump’s wife, Melania—the former image unflattering, the latter very flattering. Ted Cruz responded with a tweet of his own: “Donald, real men don’t attack women. Your wife is lovely, and Heidi is the love of my life.”

All of this comes after an anti-Trump super PAC mocked Melania Trump by using an image of her from a magazine’s nude photo shoot. Trump blamed the Cruz campaign—which denied any knowledge of it—and threatened to “spill the beans” about Heidi Cruz. She doesn’t seem fazed by the threat, however. “Most of the things Donald Trump says have no basis in reality,” she said on Wednesday, per the Hill. “We are not worried. We’re focusing on our campaign, and we’re going to continue to do that.”

Why would anyone with half a brain take either of these two d/bags seriously?

Maybe it is just me….but I prefer an adult as my candidate.

Could it be that I am being too hard on Cruz…..well let’s see…….

(Then there is the infamous booger-eating display, about which, the less said the better.)

Enough said?

Understanding Russian Political Ideology And Vision

These days people with a limited amount of knowledge are telling others all about the policies of another country….I guess it has to do with it is an election year and everyone is in a hurry to get their candidate’s opinions and thoughts out there for all to see.

Of course there is the “experts” on anything ISIS or terror related and China and especially Russia, as they see them as our antagonist on the world stage….but does anyone really understand what the Russians are thinking or why they act in the ways they do?

I am afraid that all the misinformation being passed around as serious policies by some Americans is just silly……and dangerous.

May I suggest if one truly wants to write and think that they have a handle on Russian foreign policy then this piece will go a long way to help them truly understand the Russian mindset.

Lavrov also sketches out a bipolar world in which Russia confronts the U.S. by expanding its own realm of political influence and power from the Atlantic to the Pacific, as part of a new political entity – Eurasia. The vision of Eurasia and the resultant political goals are in essence an ideological blueprint for an ideological agenda to counter the U.S.

This should help alleviate any misconceptions……that is if true understanding is what one searches for……or to save time one could just regurgitate the BS that most pass off as fact.

Want The Country To Save money?

Every year we have a Hell debate on where the country can save money….all in an effort to balance a budget that NO one wants to balance.

Yes, I support Bernie…..granted there are parts of his platform that I do not agree with, mostly on foreign policy, but overall his policies are 100 times better than anything from his party or that other party.

There has been lots of lip bumping about Bernie’s policies being too expensive and expansive….well then let us look at what his policies will do for the country…..

 

Granted these figures may be a bit optimistic….but at least it is a start.

As soon as the Clinton campaign issues a break down similar to this one then I will pass it on to my readers.

You see I like candidates that show me where the money will come from and where it will go…..not just babble on some subject that will get my fires stoked….any fool can play to emotions …….I prefer reason…….sadly it is not that popular these days.

Kasich: King Maker?

Believe it or not there are 4 GOP candidates…..we do not hear much about Kasich in the media….I mean a candidate that is NOT running anymore has more delegates than Kasich…that would be Rubio who has since gone the way of the do-do.

All the talk these days in the media is that it is looking like a contested GOP convention in Cleveland….the possibility is that none of the remaining candidates will have the prescribed amount of delegates to get the nomination on the first vote……and the media is jerking off with glee….there could be a convention that is NOT as boring as watching paint dry.

Political junkies and history buffs have spent weeks dreaming about the unlikeliest possible scenarios that could determine the 2016 election: contested conventions, third-party bids, a cross-party ticket. The Saudis Get It Done

Nope this is not about their obvious success destroying the country of Yemen but rather how they have set about on a PR campaign (or as it should be titled a propaganda program)…..

Recently I heard our prez lecture Cuba about political prisoners….that how wrong it was to prosecute those that criticize the government….and yet the Saudis are far more brutal in their punishment of critics of the government and so far not much has been said to criticize them….it is all so pathetic.

Any way I read a piece about the Saudis buying all these high price lobbyists…..

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is adding more American lobbyists to its payroll by hiring BGR Government Affairs, a company founded by former Republican National Committee chair Haley Barbour, according to filings disclosed last week.

The contract provides BGR with $500,000 annually to assist with U.S. media outreach for the Center for Studies and Media Affairs at the Saudi Royal Court, a government entity. The retainer includes the services of Jeffrey Birnbaum, a former Washington Post reporter who once covered the lobbying industry and now works as a lobbyist, as well as Ed Rogers, a former Reagan administration official who now lobbies and writes a column for the Postcalled “PostPartisan.”

The contract is the latest in a buildup over the last two years.

So these guys are buying a high priced PR campaign…..and then I saw this piece in Foreign Policy Blogs…..

To achieve this, he must rely on the support and experience of his father, King Salman, and his cousin, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Nayef, who is recognized for his effectiveness in security and anti-terrorism matters.
