Even thought important voting will be done today the big story in the media has been the violence around the Trump campaign…..
Of course everyone is trying to get a handle on what is really happening….we have those that blame ISIS or the Left or the Radical Right for all the incidents….the problem is it is around only ONE campaign (so far)….but the media does not have a good handle on the situation (in my opinion)….
If you would like an explanation to the phenom then maybe political science can help out and give you the answer you seek……

Universal authoritarianism, or fundamentalists exist in all cultures – The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt are not all that different from the Natives in the Gangs of New York movie. In fact, the “Muslim” fundamentalists are the same as the Trump Authoritarians – they would get along quite well together throwing brick bats against the “politically correct” in Egypt, France, Britain, Germany, etc.
I hope that people do not use the Trump phenom as an example of the success of a democracy. chuq
Pfft… simple human psychology, exactly the same as the principle of carrying a gun… If you do, someone, eventually, is going to shoot AT you. Trump and his supporters are marked by, more than anything else, blind belligerence. That sort of attitude can only prompt a similar response from anyone opposed to it.
