Trump: A Guilty Pleasure

I will be brutally honest….I cannot look away from Donald Trump and the situation with the GOP and its self-destruction… know like those people that find guilty pleasure in such crappy Reality TV as Duck Dynasty or Real Housewives or other such garbage……

40 years ago when I was a hard-core radical we were telling the American people what would happen if all this greed and egotistical politicians were allowed to continue unchecked…….and slowly but slowly most of it is coming true…..with a rapid deterioration of democracy from 2008……

It is truly satisfying to know that we were spot on back in the day….and now I just cannot tear myself away from the clown show… matter how strong I try…..

I bring all this up because 2016 is the culmination of 40 years of disdain for the American voter….. and it is fascinating as it transpire…..

Today is the big day for the GOP candidates….more so than for the Dems…..the big question is….will Trump finally find a stopping point?

Republican leaders trying to stop Donald Trump from winning the nomination might run out of time on Tuesday, when voters in five states—including winner-take-all states Ohio and Florida—could put the tycoon on an almost unblockable path to the nomination. With a total of 367 delegates at stake, delegates will be awarded proportionately in North Carolina, while Missouri awards delegates by district and Illinois uses a similar system. A roundup of coverage:

  • The New York Times looks at the role of Ohio, which is likely to be crucial to both the Republican and Democratic contests. The state GOP is firmly behind Gov. John Kasich, who is in a tight race with Trump and has said he will end his campaign if he doesn’t carry the state.
  • CNN reports that anti-Trump groups, including a PAC led by Jeb Bush staffers, are hitting him hard with attack ads. One cable ad features women reading Trump insults like “bimbo” and “fat pig.”
  • FiveThirtyEight crunches the numbers and finds that Kasich is the favorite to win Ohio, while Trump is the favorite in other states, including Florida, where Marco Rubio is given just a 4% chance of winning his home state—and of having a reason to continue his campaign.
  • The Wall Street Journal was present for some last-minute campaigning in which Trump spoke of knockout wins. “If we win Ohio and if we win Florida, then everybody agrees, every one of these guys, that it’s pretty much over,” he told supporters at a rally in Tampa at which he was joined by Sarah Palin, who denounced the “petty, punk-ass little thuggery” of Trump protesters.
  • Ted Cruz, meanwhile, was reaching out to Kasich and Rubio supporters in the belief that it will be a two-man race between him and Trump by Wednesday. Politico looks at the senator’s state-by-state plan.
  • The Washington Post looks at whether the “political free-for-all of an old-school contested convention” is a real possibility this year.
  • Ben Carson, who has endorsed Trump, warned against a contested convention Monday night, saying a fractured GOP would be sure to lose both the presidency and the Senate if that happens, the Hill reports. He said that even if Trump turned out to be a terrible president, “we’re only looking at four years.”

If there is voting in your area then go out and make a difference……VOTE!

The *establishment* composed of journos, BS-Vending talking heads with well-formulated verbs, bureaucrato-cronies, lobbyists-in training, New Yorker-reading semi-intellectuals, image-conscious empty suits, Washington rent-seekers and other “well thinking” members of the vocal elites are not getting the point about what is happening and the sterility of their arguments. People are not voting for Trump (or Sanders). People are just voting, finally, to destroy the establishment.
Check him out on Twitter…..well worth it!

  2. It’s the same phenomenon as how a cobra or viper will mesmerize a rabbit, or other timid prey… The trick is to NOT look in their eyes, unless you are ready to challenge the force of their will with your own…

Vote for anarchy….It’s one of our few choices left, that hasn’t been tried, and failed…. In fact, historically, the most successful groups in keeping the peace have all been more of an anarchic society, with each person taking responsibility for the community equally…

Anything else won’t work, for a portion of people will always try to gain an advantage for their own purposes… Only if each person is equally powerful can humans seem to get along…

    gigoid, the dubious

  3. “Little Marco” was never supposed to get out of the Iowa Starting Gate. This was just supposed to be a warm-up for 2020. But since the entire field eagerly sent themselves to the glue factory, Marco was able to limp around the track with a broken leg and pretend he could win. Now, this “looosa” isn’t even going to win his own damn state! Because it’s Winner Take All, “Little Marco” is finally going to be exposed for the fumbling rookie he always was. Establishment Candidate my ass!!! He’s probably going to finish behind K-Suck. Where the fuck is Jeb! when you need him? He’s an establishment man from Florida and had 5 times the chance of stopping Trump that Rubio had.

If K-suck doesn’t carry his own Winner Take All state, his campaign is going to be found floating in Lake Erie. But it seems he’ll win and live on. Let that be a lesson to all the dropouts! You can suck bad. But if you stay in there, you’ll at least go home with some Rice-O-Roni!

If Trump wins both, I don’t see how a Delegated Convention is possible without somebody else winning NY, NJ, California, and/or all the remaining blue-ish states. Who is going to do that? Cruz???? He can barely win Southern Evangelical states.

But Cruz is stupid enough to think he can win one-on-one verses Trump. He’s worked to win both of these Winner Take All states, instead of leaving them to the local favourite. He’s undermined them and possibly handed Trump both. Imbecile!!! A Delegated Convention is the ONLY way Trump can be stopped. Rubio & K-Suck winning their own state was going to be how a Delegated Convention would be feasible. If Republicans had Super-delegates, that might be another story. But they don’t.

I’m telling you man…it’s looking like the 1968 Liberal Party Convention all over again….except the Republicans are so stupid, the Republican establishment probably won’t even get the chance to make their last stand at The Alamo.
