For decades the Religious Right has been trying to re-write history as it pertains to the founding of our republic……they attempt to teach that religion was a founding principle and that the Bible was the document that help write the Constitution…….
History teaches us that all that is so much wishful thinking on their part….Even Jefferson had a Bible that he edited out all references of miracles to leave the pure philosophy of the book…….

The religious right doesn’t really like the guy but the TeaParty type does. Jefferson was an advocate for states rights , even after his friend James Madison pushed through the Constitution
He is just a good example when taken out of context…..
Getting the theology out of Christianity would bring us closer to Christ. I respect Jefferson’s effort because it is the essence of Jesus that is important not all the denominational rules and doctrines.
Too much doctrine can kill any thoughts….
