Stop Pretending That Veterans Matter

Opinion from the desk of the Editor:

One of the most pressing issues facing the country today is not immigration or impeachment or whatever imaginary issue you choose to rant about….NO it is the treatment of our veterans.  These great men and women are in dire need and deserve treatment for their ills….ills that we as a country gave them.

After the great VA scandal earlier this year everyone was outraged and everyone was offering an opinion and when it came to delivering on these concerns the government fell on its face….a face that is covered with shame.

The American people say they are worried about the vets and their problems but where has that translated into action?  They still back morons that pretend everything will be alright if we just cut spending….that my friends is the dinosaur of economic thought.

I do not see where the American people are that concerned over the treatment of our veterans……they had no problem asking them to sign up for these wars of mass destruction but when they returned needing assistance they turned their backs on them.  Oh, they have No problem running up to a soldier and thanking them for their service but when it comes to seeing that they get the help they need it is another story…..of course they can say that there are many good charities that do good work with the vets….and that is true….my problem is why do they need a charity for that…..WE did this to them…..WE owe them!

Stop pretending to care!

I mean look at Missouri…..a plan was offered to the public…..a lottery with the money, all the money, earmarked for veterans care….it failed!  Missouri is NOT an isolated case……many states are complaining that they just cannot keep up with the needs of the veterans and yet will not do anything to help…..they will promise but when it comes time to deliver they shrink away.

If Americans want a war then they need to finance every part of that war and the veterans health care should be at the top of that list….so far it is not.

To all you so-called “patriots”…..time to pay up……veterans had your back now you have theirs!

Nate Silver: GOP Has 60 Percent Chance Of Winning The Senate

You want to ruin your lunch?  try this one on for size.

Nate Silver is one sharp political geek….his stats and calculations are usually dead on…..he was so accurate in the 2012 election that most media outlets did not want him on to talk……he would blow holes all in their “expert” analysis.

I like him!

But liberals will be praying heavily that he is mistaken…..but his track record to date is pretty impressive…..

This Day In History: 06 August 1945

Today is a day of infamy…..one country totally devastated another and the Nuclear Age had begun.

On this day at 0815 hrs a bomb named Little Man was drooped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima the resulting explosion killed thousands and the survivors would suffer from radiation sickness and death…..the bomb in effect ended world War 2.

Now there has been an argument going on since the day the bomb was dropped as to whether it was necessary because, some say, Japan was already defeated.

Thanx to the bomb the world would enter into a new age and a new war, the Cold War.

Please take a moment today and remember those civilians that were evaporated in the name of war…..and pray that humanity is NEVER that irresponsible or cruel ever again.

 

It’s About All They Have

2016 is approaching and can anyone tell me what the burning issues will be?  Benghazi is not going anywhere…..immigration will be discussed but nothing substantial……ACA will always be there and around for criticism…..so what will the pressing issue be for the next general election?

Sad to say that it will not much matter but the talking points will be there and ever present…….

It’s Voter Fraud! Or Is it?

How long have we heard the GOP talking point about voter fraud?  And where they are in charge they have done deals to curb the non-existent fraud…….but about the only fraud I know of is the fraud committed by GOP operatives….like the guy that registered people and threw away the ones that registered as Dems…..or the massive amount of gerrymandering where the candidates get to pick their voters not voice versa……speaking of gerrymandering……..

Republicans “made a mockery” of recent Florida constitutional amendments requiring lawmakers to draw fair political districts, a state judge ruled yesterday, ordering that two particularly egregious districts be redrawn—and with them, probably all districts that touch them. “Republican political consultants or operatives did, in fact, conspire to manipulate and influence the redistricting process,” Judge Terry P. Lewis wrote in a scathing 41-page ruling. He noted that lawmakers had destroyed a suspicious number of documents related to the redistricting process, and even quoted George Washington’s admonition to beware “cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men,” the New York Times reports.

Florida voted in 2010 in favor of two amendments requiring districts to be drawn in an impartial, non-partisan fashion. The judge ruled that the GOP-controlled legislature failed to do that. Republicans currently hold 17 of Florida’s House seats to the Democrats’ 10, even though Democrats have an edge in overall voter registration. The judge didn’t specify if the districts have to be redrawn by this year’s midterms, Politico points out, and the state is likely to appeal. “Everyone in Florida is holding their breath,” one redistricting consultant said, predicting that the changes would ultimately wait until 2016.

What are the chances that the GOP will not mention this form of voter fraud?
