Violence For The Sake Of Violence

The weekend and a time of relaxation and reflection…….for months now there have been almost daily reports of some sort of violence mostly involving children or teenagers……but this one is just sick and not the good kind of sick…….

A 16-year-old in Virginia has confessed to murdering his parents with a knife, a crowbar, and a baseball bat because of punishments that including taking his iPod away. Honor roll student Vincent Parker killed his mother first then lay in wait for his father, who was able to call 911 after being stabbed multiple times and beaten with a crowbar; he died in the hospital, reports the New York Daily News. “I just remember getting mad,” Parker told police.”It’s all from my dad. All this stuff like my dad taking away my iPod and stuff.”

Parker pleaded guilty in adult court to two counts of second-degree murder and could face decades in prison when he is sentenced this fall. His maternal grandfather says he hopes the boy doesn’t receive the maximum sentence. “I want him to get some type of counseling,” he tells WTKR. “Help him to grow up and be an understanding man. Be sorry for what he did do. I told him to ask God to forgive him for what he did.” Asked if he had forgiven his grandson, he said, “Well, yes, I have. Because if I don’t forgive him, who will?”

This type of violence is beyond the pale…..it is disturbing to know that this is the direction our society seems to be headed……..

Welcome Home

Opinion from the desk of the Editor

DC is just full of activity….well that is a lie…..about the only thing they, elected officials, have is the VA situation or a scandal if you will.

All the yelling, screaming, finger pointing and denouncing of the head of the VA and then they dash for the nearest camera crew to be the first on air for the day…..

It is all too pathetic for words……..everyone is outraged at the treatment, or in this case the lack of, for our returning veterans……they state what a disgrace it is that the government is treating these people like chattel…..they demand the head of the VA to resign,….still waiting to hear just how that will repair the problem…..but as usual it is NOT about the veterans but rather trying to embarrass the president and his administration…….

That is a bit harsh don’t you think?  personally, no not harsh enough….for you see the ‘champions’ of the veterans, at least that is what they would have us believe, Sens. McCain, Graham and Ayotte are very vocal on just what a scandal this situation is and that it is unacceptable…..you have heard all the hype, no doubt……

These three along with 38 other GOP senators voted against a veterans benefit bill saying that it was too expensive and a budget breaker…….think about that fr a damn moment.

These are the people that have no qualms about sending in American troops into a meat grinder but cannot be bothered with the care once they return……they are treating our brave soldiers like tools….once broken then discard and find some more……and the American people look the other way….but when they see someone in uniform they dash up and thank them…….looks like soothing a guilty conscience……

Here is the bottom line—-our veterans answered the call of the country and we owe them more than we can repay….at least we could have their backs when it comes to getting the help they desperately need…..but instead of showing these brave souls the respect they deserve we spend our time crapping all over them…..it is sickening!

This country has been crapping on the veteran for 60+ years and the people they protect look the other way and vote for these that could care less about the status of the veterans…….Americans need to show their support for the vets or shut the hell up………as long as we vote for cowards like Graham, Ayotte and McCain, yes him too….for only a coward would turn their back on an American veteran in need of help…..and you really do not want to know what i think of the people that vote for people like them……

Time for the American people to do the right thing, something they have never been very good at, and show our vets the respect they deserve.

Not By Bullets Alone

I have waited many years for a good foreign policy speech by the president…..yesterday he made a speech at West Point…….I listened then read….and you know what?  I am still waiting for that good speech.

The essence of what he said was a man trying desperately to appease both sides of the war issue….the hawks and the doves………

President Obama will ask Congress to create a $5 billion fund to help allied governments fight terrorism, and ramp up aid to Syria’s rebels, he announced today, in a wide-ranging commencement speech on foreign policy. Obama spoke to West Point’s graduating class, but the speech emphasized an approach to the world lighter on military might. The military “always will be the backbone” of US leadership, he said, according to CNN, but it “cannot be the only—or primary—component of our leadership.”

Obama touted a multilateral approach that he said had produced progress in Iran and helped swiftly isolate Russia following its Ukraine invasion. “This is American leadership. This is American strength.” He said the US should fund countries that provide UN peacekeepers to help combat extremists around the world. “It’s a smart investment. It’s the right way to lead.” He said there was “no military option” that would help Syria, but said propping up moderate rebels would help combat both the Assad regime and extremists. And while he affirmed that the US would continue to launch drone strikes and other unilateral attacks when necessary, he promised restraint and transparency. “Our actions must meet a simple test, we must not create more enemies than we take off the battlefield.”

No where in that speech was it a good speech…….a typical tap dance between factions……the day before he made his speech I read a critique before the fact…..

President Obama is planning another Wednesday foreign policy speech defending his policy as just the right amount of hawkishness, a stance he has been reiterating for months now.

Obama has presented his position as a minimalist one, focusing on criticism from even more hawkish members of Congress as the alternative, without addressing the idea of less wars.

Details on the new speech don’t look like that’s gonig t oreally change, though some aides were presenting the Obama policy as a “middle course” that avoids isolationism, and maintains America’s “leadership” in global intervention.

Deputy NSA Ben Rhodes says Obama will make the “case for interventionism but not overreach,” and that he will argue the US is the “ultimate guarantor of an international order” by opposing both Russia and China.

Would someone explain to him that drones are basically a bullet……it is difficult for me to take anything serious that e mentioned in his newest speech…….

And then came the three mouth-keteers…….McCain, Graham and Ayotte……they did not like his speech, but then they were not suppose to, it will give them more exposure if they say stuff like……..

“The President’s decision to set an arbitrary date for the full withdrawal of U.S. troops in Afghanistan is a monumental mistake and a triumph of politics over strategy. This is a short-sighted decision that will make it harder to end the war in Afghanistan responsibly.

“The President came into office wanting to end the wars he inherited. But wars do not end just because politicians say so. The President appears to have learned nothing from the damage done by his previous withdrawal announcements in Afghanistan and his disastrous decision to withdraw all U.S. forces from Iraq. Today’s announcement will embolden our enemies and discourage our partners in Afghanistan and the region. And regardless of anything the President says tomorrow at West Point, his decision on Afghanistan will fuel the growing perception worldwide that America is unreliable, distracted, and unwilling to lead.

“The alternative was not war without end. It was a limited assistance mission to help the Afghan Security Forces preserve momentum on the battlefield and create conditions for a negotiated end to the conflict. The achievement of this goal, and the withdrawal of U.S. troops in Afghanistan, should be determined by conditions on the ground, not by the President’s concern for his legacy.

“All wars end. The question is how they end. The war in Iraq has ended in tragedy. And it is difficult to see how we can succeed in Afghanistan when the President tells our enemies that our troops will leave by a date certain whether they have achieved our goals or not.”

I understand Graham’s man crush on McCain but is Ayotte’s excuse….is she a hawk in training…..maybe she has been tapped to replace McCain when he decides that he must leave the Senate….any way…these two are too damn predictable…..if it is foreign policy and Obama they will oppose it!I

I keep waiting for that magical foreign policy speech…..so far all I have is that waiting time wasted.  One day we will find a person that has a good grasp on what is what in the international arena…….all I can do for now is wait and listen.

Crazy Is As Crazy Does

I watch the world so you, my reader, do it…..the world has moved on, from the news of the girls kidnapped in Nigeria…..it usually does move on……

OMG!  Stupid IS contagious!

There has been an election…..wait!  I am not talking about the most recent silly American primaries, this time the silly elections were within the EU, European Union, that is……. looks like the US is not the only location that the whack-a-doodle Right is playing their tune…….there is a growing movement within the EU that some are calling Euroskeptics……….those people hat re turning more and more against the EU……..

The European Union’s parliament is about to undergo a dramatic transition as the latest round of elections wrapped up today, giving Euroskeptic parties with major anti-Euro stances a strong representation across several countries.

The most stark victories were in Britain and France, where parties usually dismissed as “fringe groups” won major victories at the expensive of the usual mainstream parties.

Britain saw the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) winning a dominant 28% of the vote on a platform of withdrawing from the EU and negotiating a free trade agreement across the Commonwealth of Nations as an alternative. UKIP had been growing in previous national elections, but this year’s election was their first ever victory in a national vote. The Liberal Democrats, by contrast, lost almost all their seats.

France was an even bigger surprise, as Marine Le Pen’s far-right Front National (FN) came out of nowhere to win 25% of the vote and the largest number of seats, knocking the ruling Socialist Party down to a distant third place finish. FN’s main EU parliament issue is to withdraw France from the Eurozone and reestablish the franc as the nation’s currency.

Even Germany, normally hugely pro-EU, saw big gains for the brand new Alternative fur Deutschland (AfD) party, an anti-Euro party which split off from the Free Democrats as a Euroskeptic party. They didn’t win, but their fourth place finish saw them as the largest of eight new EU parliament parties from the nation.

Italy saw comedian Beppe Grillo’s 5-Star Movement taking second place as well, as a brand new party. Though not overtly anti-EU, the party has called for a referendum on Italian withdrawal from the Eurozone.

Other nations seeing strong showings for skeptic parties include the Czech Republic, where ANO 2011 won four seats on a platform of stalling economic integration, and Poland, whose Kongres Nowa Prawica (new right) won 7.2% and four seats on an explicitly anti-Euro position.

As much as I like to watch a political system work its “magic”……I am afraid that the workings of the EU will become as deadlocked and as moronic as the system here in this country.

It will be amusing at first….but that will soon morph into disgust just as it has here……keep in mind that if Europe goes down the toilet they could possibly take the US with them……something to think about.

Another Conversation?

Opinion from the desk of the Editor

Damn!  I’m bored!  I have bean searching for something the write about, something important…..you know what!  there i NOTHING!  just the same regurgitation of bullsh*t from days past…….

But wait!  There has been another shooting, that is kinda like saying there was another evening, the MSM has been rescued from having to locate a real story that needs reporting…….it is always a tragedy when some dickhead with a gun goes on a shooting spree harming and killing innocent by-standers.  but his one is different and ill need endless analysis and reporting.

It seems that this newest dumb ass felt that his advances towards women were brushed aside by the objects of his attention….so as usual he took to social media to record his twaddle then set bout doing harm.  Not much new now……but then there is the woman thing……a new twist and something that the MSM feels we Must have a conversation about for the next month or so.

There is more to the story than some crazy person objectifying women……but so far that is hat the media has fixated on…..why?  A new twist that they can milk for everything it is worth.

Another conversation we are told we must have……along with guns, race, etc.

So fr most of the “experts” have been talking about sexism……not the availability of guns to wackos……of course I am sure that I have missed something…..I try to keep on track but the blubbering idiots just make it so hard……

Yes, there is sexism…..there has been for a long time…..and we have had many decades of conversations and you know……… there is still sexism……..and we have had many many decades of gun conversations and so far the results of those conversations have produced nothing as a solution…..

I am weary of all these “conversations’ we are having….they offer NOTHING but a chance for the media to try and grab the lead in the ratings game….all the while the violence continues…..against kids, women and innocents in general……..

if we must have these conversations then at least make it appear that we are hunting a solution …..and not just filling air time.

Can a New Populist Movement Fight Off American Oligarchy? | Common Dreams

There are many that see the uptick in populist thinking as something good……and others that seem to be afraid of it…….regardless of which side you are on….we all have to admit that things are not gong well in our beloved country…..but can populism save us from ourselves?

This is an important subject….please give us your feelings on this……..

Can a New Populist Movement Fight Off American Oligarchy? | Common Dreams.

Maybe He Should Just Remain Silent

It is no secret that I think that American politics are just about as interesting as watching flies mate……I recently wrote that there is a way to generate more interests i what our politicians have to say……that would be to implant chips in their brains and whenever thy say something stupid the chip would go off and their head would implode…….would make the ratings for political show a lot higher.

And i found one of those people….he is not a stranger he has been around since the McCain/Palin days…..Joe the Plumber……

Samuel Wurzelbacher, perhaps better known as Joe the Plumber, watched Richard Martinez sobbing over the shooting death of his only son in the Isla Vista rampage, and responded thusly in an open letter on Barbwire.com: “I am sorry you lost your child. I myself have a son and daughter and the one thing I never want to go through, is what you are going through now. But: As harsh as this sounds—your dead kids don’t trump my Constitutional rights.” Wurzelbacher goes on to call suspect Elliot Rodger a “sad and insane individual.” Then, “I almost said ‘Obama Voter,’ but I’m waiting for it to be official,” he writes.

Martinez, meanwhile, gave a statement to Good Morning America and continued his crusade: “The gun lobby will no doubt characterize my statement yesterday as the rantings of a grief-stricken parent. … People can be both rational and emotional at the same time. Because I’m emotional, it doesn’t mean that what I say is irrational.” Tackling Wurzelbacher’s point, he said, “When people talk about their rights, they don’t talk about the responsibilities. They don’t talk about the responsibility to look out for other people. We all need to look out for each other’s children.”

There goes a time, regardless of how you feel about guns, to just let it go……..this guy was an idiot back 2008 and I see he just not done much to change that in the past several years……..”Can’t Fix Stupid!”
