Boko Haram: How To Win The Psy-Ops War

Opinion from the desk of the Editor:

I have patiently waited to see what everyone had to say about how to handle the situation in Nigeria and that of Boko Haram……and as usual a lot of it is pure manure!

When I first got interested in international relations I wanted to study the causes of war……thanx to my time experiencing it first hand, both overt and covert………after some of the studies were out of the way I decided to specialize in Middle East Studies……..this opinion piece is from a person who has experienced war first hand and how to deal with an opponent that cannot be negotiated with at any time.

I need to warn my readers that my idea will not be a popular one and may even be considered barbaric by some……but there is a way to handle the situation of the missing girls once they are found……..

We,  and by we I mean the rest of the so-called civilized world, have to make this a situation that should never be attempted and to do that we need to use psychological warfare as well as strength…..we know that this situation will not be resolved by negotiation and trust……and since we know this there can be only one way to proceed.  If we have a weak stomach then this will not end well for the world and especially for the kidnapped girls.

Some action needs to be formulated…….an the time tried technique of sanctions is not, I repeat NOT, a good idea……..this will end only with a good complete strike against Boko Haram……a quick strike and extraction is a good scenario but a lame one……without inflicting damage on the group what will stop them from doing this again?

There comes a time when one must play by the rules of the opponent and this is one of those times……it must be brutal and all encompassing.  Yes, even messy.

I would work the angle of the human traffickers in the region….they know where this group is and where the girls are housed.  Offer them $1 million for location with NO repercussions against them…….then give them the option of taking home $10 million for the head of the leader….and I do not mean that metaphorically.

Once the girls are located and extracted then the entire group needs to pay the ultimate price for their actions…….if that is a sticking point then i say you will face a similar scenario over and over.  There MUST be a price for their actions…..and that price needs to be strong and bold…..so that any further considerations for terror long these lines will cause a group some second thoughts.

Sanctions, condemnation and negotiation will do NOTHING to eliminate these tactics from the terrorist arsenal…..make them face reality……that actions have consequences.  We must cut the head off the snake!

I know these are extreme measures and the world may well criticize such an action……..but it will send a message and make terrorists realize that they are NOT in control.

Doing the little things like sanctions will do nothing to change the minds of terrorists and their unacceptable actions.

Rescue the girls….then be bold…..be brutal……..be barbaric……….. or good home and shut the Hell up!

Note:  Under normal conditions I am NOT in favor of using US Troops for every international situation…..where I do have a problem is when innocent civilians are harmed by warring factions……it is unacceptable……NO matter who does the harming.

The situation in Nigeria demands a through resolution…..a resolution that will send a message to all wannabe extremists…..that there is a consequence for involving civilians in their mindless conflict……..if they act like animals then treat them like animals…….PERIOD!

Boko Haram: Is The World Serious?

Yes, everyone has an opinion on what has happened and why in northeast Nigeria…….pundits have jumped on the bandwagon….well now that they have milked some plane for all it was worth and still have NO real info to pass on but that did not stop the wild speculations……..condemnation from ll sides has been flowing like theories from the well…….but with all this spotlight reporting I ask….how serious is the world about this situation?

It has taken 3 weeks for the world to get involved other than lip service…….ask if it would have taken this long if a daughter of a Shell oil CEO had been kidnapped?  Or JP Morgan?  Or any other of the multi-nationals?

Okay, the world is now on the bandwagon……..but just how serious are they about find and returning these young women?  Just what is the US doing?

As reported in The Hill………..

Lawmakers desperately want to help hundreds of Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by a terrorist group, but not if it means sending U.S. troops to the country.

…………lawmakers are mostly urging indirect steps such as sanctions, intelligence sharing and assistance to the Nigerian military, rather than the deployment of U.S. troops to get the girls back themselves.

The White House repeated throughout the week that it is not considering direct U.S. military action, though it has sent military advisers as part of a team to aid the Nigerian government with tasks such as intelligence and hostage negotiation.

Though President Obama tends to express reluctance to use military force, looking to avoid quagmires across the world, U.S. troops are playing a role in hunting the warlord Joseph Kony across Central Africa.

I shake my head in disbelief……sanctions?  Just how will that help the girls?  And even if successful…..what are the guarantees that it will not be repeated?

To me it is beyond idiotic to even consider sanctions.  SANCTIONS?  Just what in God’s name will that accomplish?  It is understandable that the US is reluctant to commit troops after all we want to avoid yet another quagmire that we have lived through in the last 12 years……but there comes a time that we must stand up and do whatever it is that needs doing to squelch the snake of terrorism……..the head of the snake must be removed……..

All resources short of committing troops should be explored……intel gathering, contact with troops in the area that would work as a surrogate, there are some, and drones for observation….like I said all resources short of troops.

Okay, how about drones?  We have used them for everything including assassinations…….could they possibly be of assistance?   Drones vary in size. Some are capable of flying at low altitudes with cameras or at high altitudes with sophisticated sensors. They are a powerful asset to many military operations.  Possibly a good asset to deploy, right?

Reported in the Washington Times…………..

The U.S. military does not plan to use high-tech unmanned aircraft to assist the Nigerian government as it attempts to recover hundreds of missing girls that were abducted by a militant Islamist group during a boarding school raid, a Pentagon official said.

During a briefing at the Pentagon, spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby told reporters that he was unaware of any offer by the United States to provide Nigeria with drones to find more than 200 girls kidnapped by members of Boko Haram last month.

“There’s no active discussion about the use of unmanned systems in the search,” he said.

Looks like drones are out…..then just what will be the function of the “experts” that have been sent to Nigeria?

Granted us mere mortals are not privy to everything that the government is up to……but from what I know now….it does not sound like the us is as serious as they would have us believe.

These girls do NOT have an unlimited amount of time on their hands…….using any thing short of eliminating the problem is unacceptable……farting around with sanctions is just a pile of manure…..take action or stop pretending to care.

The old saying, “the only people that care about sub-Saharan Africa is sub-Saharan Africans”………this situation shows just how accurate that statement can be……….

UPDATE:  After writing this draft news has broken that first, the US has sent in a negotiation team to Nigeria….wait, what happened to the idea that “we do not negotiate with terrorists”?

Also a vid of some of the girls has been released by Boko Haram that the girls have converted to Islam and they will be released as soon as the government releases Boko Haram fighters in prison……

Once again…….will we negotiate?

I would like everyone’s thoughts on this.

Who The Hell Is Boko Haram?

West African Desk

My weekend has ended (mercifully)….time to move on to reality………

Recently a new term has been added to the world lexicon………..Boko Haram.

Now that the entire world has awakened to the situation in Northeast Nigeria…..everybody has an idea of what is going on…….let me assist because there is so much bullsh*t and lies out there that it needs to be straightened out……..

First, Boko Haram is NOT a who, but rather a what.

Boko Haram is among the most vicious terrorist groups operating in North Africa, home to some of the worst Islamist extremists in the world.  Boko Haram opposes the education of girls and has kidnapped girls to use as cooks and sex slaves. It has killed hundreds of children.  The group seeks to replace Nigeria’s government with a strict Islamic state.  Its home base is the Sambisa Forest, a game preserve in Nigeria’s northeast eight times larger than Yellowstone, and it has several hundred to a few thousand fighters.

Now that the world is watching and showing some concern the mental midgets are coming out of the woodwork to add their two cents……the first piece of crap I heard was from Steve Douche Bag from Fox News…….he got on the high horse and stated that Boko Haram was not on the terror list until recently thanks to Clinton and Obama……..he was correct on one front….Boko Haram was added to the list recently, not sure the exact date………….the leader of the group,  Abubakar Shekau, has been on the list for two years……so the movement has been on radar for at least two years and the group was labelled a “regional” threat only.

A political sideshow to the escalating focus on the Nigerian militant group Boko Haram is what it means for Hillary Clinton’s presidential prospects. Boko Haram was not officially designated a terrorist group until Clinton stepped down and John Kerry became Secretary of State. This, Republicans tell us, reveals she is weak on terrorism and doesn’t have the leadership or foresight to keep the country safe as president.

To try and make a substantive political point on the basis of the farcical and arbitrary State Department terrorist list is laughable. The “official list” is so fickle and ludricous as to be useless in any serious political discussion except to demonstrate how illegitimate it is.

The next mouthy moron was that of Rush boy……on his radio program he went into a usual diatribe and called Boko Haram a vicious al-Qaeda cell, one of the most vicious…..okay, my correction….it is a horribly destructive extreme Islamist group…..but being such does not automatically make them a member of the AQ group.  I do wish that people would cease supporting lying morons…….it seems AQ has issued a statement on Boko Haram…….

Al-Qaeda has issued comments today angrily condemning Nigerian militant faction Boko Haram for the kidnapping of hundreds of Nigerian schoolgirls, and the threat to sell them into slavery.

The comments, published on a website popular with the faction, declared the action is a violation of Islamic law, and threatens to “taint the image of the Mujahedeen.”

Al-Qaeda’s leadership has become increasingly aware of its public image in recent months, disavowing any connect with al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) after high profile executions in Syria, and chiding members about civilian casualties.

Nigeria-centric Boko Haram and al-Qaeda have no direct ties, though there have been some claims of Boko Haram working with al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) on a limited basis.

I understand that the Right needs to find stuff that they can use against Clinton and Obama, especially Clinton, after all there will be an election soon that they will surely lose…..AGAIN!

These twats lose all credibility every time they make the news and the analysis to fit their paradigm……why let facts get in the way of a bullsh*t story……these are the types of idiots they (idiot Right) look to for leadership…NO wonder they cannot win a national election.

Someone please explain to me how the generation of lies helps in the search for the kidnapped girls?  What is the point of generating hate for a particular person?  Does it help the girls in any way?

Just thought I would ask.

And now you know more about Boko Haram than you did yesterday……….you are welcome!
