Say Good-Bye To The Democratic Ideal?

We Americans are proud of our democratic heritage….the great American ideal—–we are so proud of it that we try to export it whenever possible…..by force if necessary.

We are so proud that we have let the whole democratic experiment slip from our hands……..that democratic ideal that our Founders were so amour with has ceased to exist….Professor, what say you?

For decades the US has been retreating from the very ideas of the Founding Fathers…….and now there is a hint of truth to the claim…..

Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organised groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on US government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence.

In English: the wealthy few move policy, while the average American has little power.

The two professors came to this conclusion after reviewing answers to 1,779 survey questions asked between 1981 and 2002 on public policy issues. They broke the responses down by income level, and then determined how often certain income levels and organised interest groups saw their policy preferences enacted.

“A proposed policy change with low support among economically elite Americans (one-out-of-five in favour) is adopted only about 18% of the time,” they write, “while a proposed change with high support (four-out-of-five in favour) is adopted about 45% of the time.”

It is time to stop pretending that the Constitution is the law of the land……..we know it is just a prop….the real law is that of………..CASH!

The presidency stands for wealth…..the legislature is bought with every election……and the judicial has become the servant of the wealthy……..every desire of the population is nothing compared to the needs of the wealthy.

Elections are doing nothing for the voter…….the politicians are doing nothing for the people………and  the cash grows more powerful with each passing election……..and the people grow powerless.

Can all this change?

Not in today’s political climate……….and the storm grows stronger and the cash is limitless……….and the people need to learn to suffer in silence…..or force a change!

Since our dynamite congress cannot get anything done in the last 6 years maybe we should design a program to show these do-nothing twats what it takes to be a loyal official of the realm.

This might not be a bad idea for the rest of us also….maybe then we will stop electing big mouths and start finding people capable of being worthy of the office we give them.

If they want to act like immature morons then let us treat them as such….and keep it simple…….

Here Is How To Not Do An Impact Study

In case some did not know it before there can be any construction or such that would effect the environment there has to be an environmental impact study and in this study points are given to any negative and positive results of the said construction……and yes, for the government, there is a right way and a wrong way to present the findings of the study…..

I recently read a study that made just sit there staring at the screen for a long while before breaking out into raucous laughter……would you like to see the part that caught my attention?  Gonna show you anyway……..

There is at least something of a bright side to oil spills, pipeline company Kinder Morgan says.

In a recent submission to the National Energy Board, the company says marine oil spills “can have both positive and negative effects on local and regional economies” thanks to the economic activity generated by cleanup operations.

“Spill response and clean-up creates business and employment opportunities for affected communities, regions, and clean-up service providers,” the company says.

The comments appear in a 15,000-page application to the NEB to triple the capacity of its Trans Mountain Pipeline, which carries oil from Alberta to Port Metro Vancouver.

I could not resist it……i had to re-read it several times to see if I missed something……..I love this stuff…….
